I booked this place through booking. Com 6 months in advance. Since they don't accept early payment I was told to pay at the hotel later when I checked in.
Fastforward to 1 day before my check in date, I receive an email asking me in 1 sentence 'you cannot stay on the day of your reservation'. No explanation, nothing. I was tired, confused and scared.
I tried texting them on the app to find out what they really meant and what I was supposed to do tomorrow if I had no place to stay. They were rude and very late and lazy in replying. At one point they completely stopped replying leaving me hanging.
At the end I had to have a friend back in my home country call booking. Com customer service and had them arrange a new hotel for us, which they did at no extra cost so kudos to booking. Com.
What I think happened is since we booked so in advance the price was cheaper and they found a higher paying customer so they cut us off like extra baggage.
Very unprofessional and really didn't expect this of Japan.
Ruined my entire day in Osaka cause I was so worried I'd be homeless in a foreign place.

Honestly this was a gem of a find. It is on the bus route (less than a 2 minute walk) or by the subway station (3-4 minute walk maybe). Either direction you go, there is a convenience store and a grocery store within walking distance. There's a Kura sushi within walking distance too if you are into that. This place only accepts cash (yen ¥), so keep that in mind if you book. The owners are ridiculously kind, the man carried luggage up the stairs — which was not expected but to my friend who way overbought, very appreciative. They place out breakfast in the am (nothing extravagant — just fruit and croissants: which is enough I promise). There's a list of top items to do if you have no itinerary planned out or items get cancelled. The owner when giving keys to your room also has a map and will point out where basics are, again, so kind. Bathroom is lovely. There is a washer here, so if it's going to not rain (unfortunately it was raining during our stay) — fully take advantage, you can hang your freshly washed garments outside on the patio. There is access to the roof — and the cutest suprise — but, you can enjoy your evening on the roof if you wish to look out at the quiet town. 100% would recommend and go back.
