HOTEL Clam Chowder

If I could give 0* I would. However, one thing this place has 5* on from me is the location. When we read all these positive reviews, we were keen to get there and even £100 per night was acceptable for our 4 nights stay. When we arrived we weren't welcomed warmly. The staff was unfriendly, almost bothered that we are there. The hotel doesn't have any lounge as advertised in pictures. There is literally small reception desk where one person is hidden behind.
Anyways, so we get in the room. The room was double bed with private bathroom with bathtub. Sounded good. Until we looked closer and found mould everywhere in bathroom. The shower curtain — full of mould. The room was dusty, we could find hair of someone else on our towels, on the carpet and on the bed. The thing with ionisation was basically making us sick when we were about to top up water. All mouldy as well.
We couldn't stay there like this. We asked for different room or someone to come to clean properly. The answer was that they can refund us. We contacted the Airbnb support. They sorted everything quickly. Long story short, please see the pictures and you'll understand. I just would like to warn people to do not come, u less they are ok with mentioned above.

At first, I was a bit worried because there weren’t many reviews about this hotel online, but it turned out my concerns were completely unnecessary! The moment we opened the door, we fell in love with the room. The brick-red walls reminded me of Kyoto’s autumn leaves, and the paper windows added such a traditional Japanese vibe.
For those who enjoy lively areas, the location is unbeatable. Just a two-minute walk takes you to a bustling shopping district filled with amazing restaurants, bars, and even a 7-Eleven at the corner—convenience at its best!
The bathroom comes with a bathtub, though a minor downside is that water tends to pool when taking a bath. However, it drains quickly, so it’s not a big issue.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel! It’s super convenient for anyone who loves staying in vibrant areas.

Location is good if you want do do a lot of shopping in the city centre, for the main sights you still have to take the buses. But we did not like the room. There was a lot of dust in some places and tables had some stains. In general the room is outdated and would require some renovations. There is a strange smell all the time in the bathroom. General comfort (e. G. Bed, shower, smell, noise, no curtains, no service/cleaning) is also lower compared to other hotels. We visited a total of 6 hotels in Japan, and this one was the most expensive and least comfortable one. If it would be in the low-budget category I would rate it ~3.5 stars, but not for the price we booked.
