Awesome place.

So happy to spend time at K’s House Hostel the last four nights. It has a cosy lodge vibe and the quirky communal lounge is a perfect space to relax in the evening.

Staying at Oyado was the most welcoming experience that I’ve had in Japan.

Nice chill hostel outside of center Sapporo. The owner is a very energic lady and can help you with almost everything.

Second Richmond Hotel we've stayed in. Would definitely stay in this chain across Japan as it offers great value for money; feels.
Like it should be a 4* rating. Staff are very hospitable and helpful.

The hotel is right next to JR Obihiro station. We received a free drink when we checked-in to the hotel. The hotel and the rooms are very clean and have nice architecture as well.

Amazing, very hospitable owners. I enjoyed talking with them via my (brothers) limited Japanese and their English. We came in August.

My climbing crew stayed at rishiri greenhill inn for 3 nights in February. We were the only guests and had the pleasure of meeting Yoshi and his family who run the hostel.

Staying in many capsule hotels in Japan this was my favorite. Their lounge area is big and provide many conversation starter props. I meet a few people there.

Best place to take a rest for sole travelers. There is no bathroom in the room. You must use bathroom, shower with together. But so clean and separated space.

Super nice Rooms. Just the esentials. All you need! Fridge, waterboiler, microwave enought to make breakfast. I will come again!

Absolutely loved my stay at Sho inn! I attended for this year’s Snow Festival in Sapporo, and it did not disappoint. Management is excellent as well. Will be returning again!

I booked room (shared bathroom). But the staff upgrade my room with an en suite bathroom without extra charge.

Authentic hotel/pension for a comfortable stay in Hakodate.
The staff are friendly and kind, they even offered some free snacks for the long train journey ahead.

Ogawa and Terumi are the most kind and thoughtful hosts. Mimatsuso is comfortable, quiet, and well located for walking to restaurants and bars. The breakfast is delicious and great value.

Great old school ryokan. If you want to experience old japanese house style just go there! Downtown area is just nearby and they provide free parking. The owners are so sweet and nice!

This hotel is in an excellent location for our cycling trip that started from Asahikawa to Cape Soya, the northernmost tip of Hokkaido.

Spent 3 nights in this hotel and couldn't recommend it more. Super value for money. Position is right beside the main train/bus station and opposite a big mall.

We just stayed here for two nights and we enjoyed the very different experience than just staying in a usual western-style hotel. The most outstanding is for sure the lovely host Kudo-san.

Everything in Shabby House is from care and warmth. From the moment owner-san picked me up from Sapporo Station to his very delicious breakfast. He is very generous with his care, thank you very much.

Very clean and new room, facilities, and sauna. Extremely friendly, helpful, and kind staff. They even helped me when I became sick to reschedule the next hotel I went.

For the price, it is excellent.
The room was spacious and Japanese style. Not spotless, but clean enough. Washroom was ample sized. It was in a quiet area and we could not hear our neighbours.

Very nice rooms, have everything you need. A little noisy in the evening but it goes quiet around 11. Staff very helpful. Has a microwave and fridge to buy beer and ramen.

Comfortable beds and lovely owner who let us check in early :) My first experience of staying in a traditional Ryoken and loved it!.

Host was absolutely incredible a lovely elderly couple who happily drove us to the mountain every day without us even needing to ask.

Very nice accommodation in the middle of woods with comfy cabins.
The cabin is big enough with very good heating. Bathrooms are in the main building, clean and modern.

A good hotel located just opposite the Asahikawa station. Rooms were ok in size. As with a lot of such similar hotels, no house keeping is availed if one stays for less than 3 nights.

I cannot begin to express just how much we loved the hotel and the very accommodating people that run the place!

Great spacious, very stylish accommodation with all essentials. We had very comfortable stay with our 9 months old baby. She had a lot of space to practice crawling and yogi-boos were very fun!

Spacious accommodation with all the things you need. Had a very good washing machine and kitchen area. The furniture was well looked after and the place was spotless.

No frills, straightforward capsule type accommodation for men. Highly recommend for solo dude travellers. Go for the superior cabin option for a tad bit more privacy and space.

This is likely Kitami's most boutique hotel, featuring just four rooms per floor and 23 in total. While compact, the rooms are fully equipped and immaculately clean.

A perfectly satisfactory hotel for the traveller. Only 4 rooms per floor. Smallish but perfectly comfortable rooms with sufficiently sized bathroom by Japanese standards.

Very nice and cozy stay near Japan's northmost. Meals are delicious. Will definitely come again some time during summer in the future.

A welcoming, family-like atmosphere. It would be more accurate to call it a youth hostel rather than a guesthouse, as it can accommodate many more people than traditional guesthouses.

It was a smooth and fast check in and check out process. The staff who I spoke to during check in was very friendly and spoke some English instructions.

After revamp, this hotel (onsen ryokan) is open again! ✨✨Owner and staffs are super friendly and welcome their guests with very genuine smile. Not to mention they speak really good english too!

Satisfactory, with surprisingly good Wi-Fi. Main downsides is that you have to lay out your own futon.

From outside, the exterior looks like a container. But the interior is wooden material. They provide mineral water, coffe, tea & cookies. I feel comfort to spend 2 nights in here.
