Our stay at the San Giorgio Hotel was a unique cave experience in this very special town.

The experience was very nice. We just had a small problem with the hot water, which was immediately fixed on a Sunday.

The quality and the standard within the room is very high. From matress, towels, shower gel, luxury high quality brands. The room was very clean. You can walk into the old town by 15 min.

Wow! What an experience! How fun and different and…you just have to come to experience it. It was so fun. The “pool”, which was in the basement basically, is my nothing short of dreamy.

It was our first time in Matera, I would advise more than one night to find your feet. Hotel Sant’Angelo was in the perfect location within walking distance to local sites, restaurants, shops & bars.

First of all — great you could pre-arrange our transfer from Bari Airport, ~5:45pm direct to hotel — so late in the afternoon.

Staying at this beautiful luxury cave hotel in Matera was a dream come true. Cave 17 was romantic, authentic yet with modern amenities. We had a comfortable stay.

This is one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed. They have maintained the feeling of the caves, and it is incredibly charming. We had room 26, which was very large.

This stay was our best stay in Europe from start to finish. Loved how they pick you up from a parking lot and drive you to and from the hotel.

Stayed at Basiliani Hotel in Matera and loved the experience! The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, blending the historic charm of the Sassi with modern comfort.

What a wonderful experience we had at La Casa di Ele! We initially booked one night only but returned again at the end of our trip for one more.

This was a unique, historic, and fantastic hotel! It is in a great location, not just in terms of getting around the city, but also since it is a short 2 min walk (up or down steps) to get a taxi.

I spent 3 nights at Casa Festa during my visit in Matera and I only had good things to say about this lovely cute guest house. I had a room facing the gorge and it was really quiet and enjoyable.

This is impossible. I cannot find something wrong. And the owner … how in the name of Jesus worked with custom made materials and stuff I cannot find in my country to make this room so cool.

This residence is ideally located just a few metres from the historic centre. Our room was very clean, comfortable and beautifully designed with separate toilet and experience shower.

I stayed for two days 25 and 26 August with my family, the apartment is very clean and really beautiful. Equipped with everything and more. Rich breakfast. Free parking in front of the structure.

The location is excellent with an underground garage 100m away. Direct access to the old town areas. Rooms are amazing with high stone vaulted ceilings, and superb shower rooms. Very comfortable bed.

I spent 3 lovely nights here. What a gorgeous room I had. So very pretty.
Cleanliness was outstanding.

We had a 2 night stay at Il Palazzotto and really enjoyed it. The rooms are all in caves and some go a fair way into the rock which is a real experience. Having a bath in a cave really is something.

This hotel and the city are honestly unreal. Every single person on the staff we dealt with was outstanding, making the whole stay feel seamless.

This hotel is one of the most unique we have ever stayed at. The rooms are dug into the limestone that makes up most of Matera Old Town, but they are clean spacious, modern rooms.

We liked everything about Donna Gina. The check-in process was easy, there was parking at the location for our rental car, and the historic area was an easy walk.
