Great hotel in the best location in Matera. Super comfortable rooms, spa, and a breakfast spread in the morning. I would come back.

on the rooftop terrace (difficult to reach for people with difficulties). The lack of toilets in the vicinity of the refreshment environment is a very serious handicap. It is recommended to the Directorate to use a room near the terrace as "Services.

After travelling for 3 weeks in Italy, it's probably the hotel I loved the most with an excellent balance between authenticity, luxury, services and exclusivity. The hotel is situated in an old palace where the city's aristocrats used to live. It's been renovated to an excellent standard with all the modernity expected from a 5-star hotel whilst preserving the original cachet of the place. We got upgraded to a Junior Suite with a private balcony giving us a view on the main square where festivities were taken place that weekend. Ask for it of available, it really worth it. With the Suite also comes a private one hour access to the Spa where you can enjoy the privacy of the swimming pool and hammam with your second half. The breakfast was ok but some more options could be provided. The location of the hotel makes it difficult to park nearby but they have a private parking with a shuttle taking you in 5min to the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful though some of them barely understood English which should be improved in order to attract more international tourists. Overall, a very nice stay and the perfect base to visit lovely Matera in an exclusive environnement.

A nicely restored palazzo, good location, very helpful staff. A number of details still needing to be ironed out at room level to bring this hotel to the top of its game, including Wi-Fi, air conditioning, towel racks, etc. But overall a nice place to stay and a good breakfast. Two nights in a small suite ran €375 for two persons.

Great hotel with gorgeous rooms in a central location. But this location is also the problem for guests with light sleep: In the early morning, the garbage collection in front of the cathedral does all the work and robs you of sleep … So if you are sensitive, you should ask for a room to the back. At my request, we were allowed to move there without any problems — very professional.

It's a very distinctive hotel, and with a transparent elevator, the penetration is even better. Room No. 301 is Morgan Ferriman checked in, very spacious and great!

Located in the historical centre, in the Piazza Dal Duomo, the complex of the Palazzo kittens faces the beautiful cathedral right on the top of the hill of Castelvecchio that dominates the two natural amphitheatres of Sasso Caveoso and Sasso Barisano. From here you literally dominate Matera.
Directly in front of the south façade of the cathedral you enter the Hall and from here to the various halls.
Through a series of corridors, stairs, elevators you can access the rooms located in the various ales. The rooms are large and well cared for in all the details. The services are excellent.
The breakfast room in the basement a gem. The pool and the SPA area were also built in the underground, taking advantage of the ancient spaces and cisterns with excellent results.
A beautiful terrace allows you to enjoy a magnificent view on Sasso Caveoso.
A private shuttle service of the hotel completes the services by connecting the tree with the parking agreement.

We were there myself and my girlfriend for a romantic getaway and we have no doubt about returning! The stay though short was magnificent, we never felt more pampered than that in any other place, courteous and discreet staff not to mention the scenery and spa that offer a unique relaxation! We will definitely go back!

Luxury Hotel located in the heart of Lucana city. 5-Star Service, large rooms, noteworthy spa and generous breakfast. Absolutely not cheap but worth the expense.

Only flaw is the attached restaurant, which rarely allows synergies (such as room service or well-organized dinners) that are expected from a 5-star hotel.

Excellent hotel great service and amazing breakfasts from South Italy delicatessen from chese to fresh fruit bred focaccia insaccati tipici ne vale la pena.

Exceptional location, very welcoming suite, friendly and empathetic staff. The icing on the cake, the property's restaurant, run by the great chef Francesco Abbondanza of the eponymous restaurant L'abundance Lucana.

Stayed here on a biking trip for 2 days. Rooms are beautiful. Staff is amazing. Breakfast great. But the main thing you do at a hotel is sleep. So if you like to sleep past 5:00, don't stay here. Both nights trash collection came by and spent 30 min throwing trash from the entire alley into the trucks. If they can guarantee a room that will be quiet, take it. If you normally are up at 5, fantastic place to stay.

Top notch staff,
accommodations, location and views. The front desk staff found us a wonderful guide for a walking tour, arranged dinner for us at a Michelin restaurant and took care of all the logistics for our car and luggage. (which with the geography of Matera is no small task). Plenty of history, local culture, and great food. Highly recommend.

The waitress for the breakfast area is awful, especially to asians.

The most amazing 5 star hotel, in the most stunning city, Matera. A combination of history, culture, evolution and breathtaking views. Palazzo Gattini purely compliments Matera. The hotel service was exemplary, particular mention of Pina. Her commitment to her work was nothing short of amazing. Her dedication and perfection to her craft (fresh warm ricotta with Matera orange honey drizzled on artisan Matera bread) was complimented by her enthusiasm and pleasant "morning"' attitude.
