A little fancy but nevertheless amazing.

We stayed in the James Bay Suite which was spacious and lovely. Breakfasts were very good. Hosts were kind and attentive. Proximity to downtown for exploring was ideal.

Really great place to stay. Excellent central location. I don't think you could get a better location. Secure underground parking a big advantage. Room was really nice and comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous. No complaints whatsoever. Would be my first choice if visiting again.

Nice room, friendly helpful staff. Nice ocean front view. A little short on parking when there is a wedding happening. Would have no problem staying here when I’m in Sooke again…

The location on the bay in Sooke is fantastic. Beautiful sitting spots on the patio to watch the bay and the wildlife. If you have a room with a balcony facing the bay you will be treated to an even more spectacular view. Coffee shop in the lobby makes good lattes, the sports bar has good service and drinks but the restaurant leaves a little to be desired when it comes to the food and service. There are other quality places to eat in the area though so no big deal.

Loved the location, it is easily within walking distance of the ferry. Rooms were comfy and very homey. Loved all the downstairs rec rooms too! Overall, my family and I had a great time and would definitely consider staying again.

Great location — excellent walking distance to a lot of attractions and museums. The hotel is really well kept but it does feel dated. The staff have all been incredibly accomdating and extremely polite. The shuttle service is also great and convenient. Excellent bang for you buck. I would definitely stay here again if we're our this way visiting Victoria.

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Victoria for 3 days with my girlfriend. A very lovely house, the staff was very welcoming and informative, the room was very clean, tidy, well furnished and cute, the shared living room was very cozy, the dining room was sophisticated. Also the shared kitchen is great if you want to cook something. There's also free laundry in the basement if you need it. The continental breakfast buffet included was amazing.

Very nice ambience, room quite small but clean and comfortable bed. Modern shower. In the entrance area quite strong low after old furniture. Conclusion well, gladly again.

Our second or third time here. Love the location, away from traffic yet convenient to Douglas Street. Two great restaurants very nearby. Hotel dog-friendly too.

Just completed a 3 day fishing adventure with Trailhead resort. Steve was our guide and the fishing was phenominal as was the service. We would highly recommend. Was a trip of a lifetime. Thanks Trailhead for the amazing experience.

In a word — the Union Club is wonderful. Serene. Social. Super special. The affiliates worldwide make travel — or the home ground in Vancouver even better.

Must stay here if visiting Victoria! Rooms are updated and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Location was close and walkable but felt tucked away from the busyness of downtown. Jen was a wonderful host and was helpful for navigating the city. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed 3 nights. It’s a beautiful home. The beds were comfortable but the room was hot if we closed the door. There was a fan available which I used and I think there might have been a portable air conditioner in the closet. The bathroom we had was superb. Amazing shower. Jen makes a variety of delicious breakfasts and is accommodating and helpful. It’s walking distance to many of the sights.

Gorgeous property in Victoria. The rooms are spacious and well decorated and the view of the gardens make you feel like you are in quiet little oasis. It’s located very close to everything downtown and is easily walkable to shopping, food and exploring. I’ll most definitely be back again! Thank you to the great hosts!

This is a little hidden gem within Victoria, we stayed for 2 nights, excellent service, very clean and perfectly organized, very cozy atmosphere, we stayed at the magnolia suite, very comfortable beds, very tasteful interior, kitchenette is very well equipped, everything is so well thought out and very well managed, I can recommend this place anytime, I’m sure we will be back!

Great choice of hotel to stay for few days in Victoria!

Overall good experience… first time at this hotel which is not my usual in Victoria but a nice change of scenery. There was a minor housekeeping issue that I had to advise of which I thought they may have addressed a bit better, but I would stay here again.

Three of us (sisters) stayed at the "Cottage" over the Labour Day long weekend 2021 and were thoroughly delighted with the experience. It is walking distance to the harbour, grocery store, bank, liquor store and dining — how convenient. All of that and yet the area is incredibly quiet and peaceful. The best of both worlds.

Heathergate cottage is tucked in the heart of James Bay and is close to all the attractions of the area by foot. Our expert hosts Ned and Ann, made us feel welcome. The patio entrance is stunning beautiful with all the shrubbery and flowers. The cottage is quaint and beautifully decorated. The furniture is comfortable… including the linen draped bed. The kitchen has everything you need … And came well stocked with all sorts of goodies and condiments.
