Amazing Location and Amazing view!

We had 2 wonderful nights, loved the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room.
Is now our go to hotel when staying in Victoria.

The McDonald's of hotels. Service was despicable from check in to manager. If you're senior women you're not welcomed here. Horrible. Room are run down and dated. Stay elsewhere.

Had a great rooftop patio breakfast. The view was fantastic, the food was great and the server was super nice. Great experience all the way through.

Just a wonderful place to stay. Will be our first choice for any future trips to Victoria.

It’s a beautiful hotel but the reception staff aren’t clear on their policies about paying cash when booking as we got hit with a 350.00 deposit when we arrived to checkin which nobody informed us about at the time of booking which I am not happy about.

The staff and rooms with a view were fantastic! Have stayed in many of the hotels in the area as we come to Victoria for medical appointments. Grand Pacific is my favorite. The restaurant is awesome as well. The pool and fitness area are top notch and well maintained. Nothing not to like.

We stayed here for a one-night staycation. The room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The pool is huge. We had a delicious meal at the restaurant. The service was excellent. We will be back!

We were on the 10 Th floor with expansive city and ocean view. Quiet room. Comfortable bed lovely stay. A little positivity as we said goodbye to 2020

Nice rooms and the Afternoon Tea was delicious. They need 24 hours notice if you want the tea. Cheaper and more interesting than the one at The Empress. The hotel is in a great location.

A wonderfully comfortable patio with an attentive, friendly staff to make our afternoon perfect. Our server (Karla) was friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Our dinner — a Seafood Boil — was perfectly prepared and perfectly plated and presented by Chef Nabil. overall, an amazing afternoon with excellent drinks, well-prepared food in a comfortable and stylish setting. We will DEFINITELY be returning!

We love this Hotel and is the only place we will stay when in Victoria. They are all so friendly and so helpful. They spoil you… the restaurant has fantastic food and service. Can’t wait to head back soon… great rooms and views.

Nice hotel, well placed for walking around. Staff are very nice and accommodating. Rooms are nice, pool, hot tub, steam-room & gym are all nice as well.

Just spent 4 nights here. Very, very nice hotel. Would have given this hotel 5 stars with the exception of one thing. The beds are absolutely the HARDEST beds in the world. LITERALLY! Felt as though we were sleeping on concrete. They put foam mattress toppers on beds for us after we complained, but it made no difference at all. When we left, we both had horrible pain in our lower backs, shoulders, and hips. Our bodies felt battered. We did ask for a different room with softer beds but were told all the beds were the same. Honestly, I don’t always expect hotel beds to feel as comfy as home, but for the price we paid they, should have been way more comfortable than they were.

Huge thank you to Roman and brad. We had reservations at another hotel and canceled last minute due to horrible conditions inside the room. We pulled up to the grand pacific and explained our situation. Brad and Roman were both extremely accommodating and helpful. They got us booked into a beautiful room over looking the water. Upon hearing that a proposal was going to happen that weekend they wanted to know when so they could surprise us with chocolate dipped strawberries. They were delicious. Thank you again we will definitely be back.

Stayed nights 4-6 July. Really efficient check in. Lovely Hotel. Friendly staff. Breakfast great. Location on the waterfront. Town busy, but it was holiday season. Loved it.

The staff were amazing, especially the concierge. I planned my wedding proposal in the lobby of the hotel and they had no problem accommodating the ring delivery dinosaur (14ft raptor). They took photos for us and treated us like royalty. Our room was also upgraded to the nicest room I've ever been in. (I suspect it was because the concierge knew I was proposing. ) It was a perfect weekend and I can't thank them enough.

I'm extremly dissapointed with their service. I had won a trip to Victoria to go whale watching and a 2 night stay at this hotel. I was thrilled and as soon as I recieved my gift certificates I called to book my stay as I only had 2 months to cash in on my prize. When I tried to make a reservation they told me that because it's their busy season they don't want to book any good days because they would like to fill them with other reservations they may get. I explained that this package came with no black out dates and I have to use this up with the 2 months. They were completely unsupportive and wouldn't work with me. I don't understand why you would give away a prize if your not going to let the winner use it. Was it just for free advertisment? I think you should honor what you were willing to give out.

The staff has been great, but to be honest the hotel itself has been a bit of a let down. We did only select the cheapest room style, but found it isn't really any better then in many respects then your average chain hotel. The toilet paper provided is thin and scratchy, the towels are worn, the mini fridge compressor makes a horrible noise, and the carpet is showing it's age. Nothing bad per say, but not quite the luxury hotel I was expecting based off of the advertising/price. As a heads up, the beds are quite hard, but they do have foam pads they can provide, so you may want to ask for one upon check in if you prefer a softer bed. On a positive note, even getting the cheapest room style we still have a small balcony with a decent view of the harbour. Review written on day 2 of a 6 day trip, will update if anything changes during the rest of the trip. Day 5 update: dropping my rating to 3 stars. The longer we are here the more it feels like it just was not worth the additional cost. The door molding is dirty, the bathroom is quite cramped (I am always worried about hitting my toes while shutting the door because there is only about a foot of space between the door and the toilet), and their hot tub was not very clean.

The hotel is a perfect location if staying in central Victoria as it is convenient to shops and waterfront. The rooms are excellent and the staff are very courteous and helpful.
Unfortunately I was not happy with the breakfast in the dining area — Every day of the year I have Bacon and Eggs (any form), unfortunately I considered the toast and scrambled eggs were very bland in taste and the bacon was tough.
However enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return in the future.

Very positive experience. Room was the equal of anything I've stayed in before, including international five star hotels. Ideally located for downtown Victoria with beautiful views of the Harbour. Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant as it was expensive but there's plenty of alternatives within a ten minute stroll. Staff excelled in service, friendliness and professionalism. Would stay there again if returning to Victoria.

Suite 1050.3 balconies overlooking beautiful Victoria City and the working harbor. Small talk getting coffee this morning I told a nice couple there would be claw marks from my room when it is time to leave. 5 star in every regard. Also close to Victoria Clipper dock and The COHO Ferry. Seaplane tours and water taxis very near.

It was one of the best hotels on our trip. Everything was fine. The staff was friendly and well-informed, our room was beautiful and modern. Everything was there, pool/sauna looked great. We especially loved the breakfast, very attentively and friendly served to us by Jacky. Try the scrambled eggs and the french toast!

I'm visiting from Edmonton went to see the live Jazz. Very good but service was a different story! I ordered seafood chowder too a half hour to get and it was the wrong soup! I didn't want to wait another half hour so just ate it! The waitress asked me what soup again about 15 mins. She said very busy and blamed it on kitchen for giving her the wrong table!? Also, I got a dirty martini and she asked me a vodka one I said yes please but got beefeater gin instead… again just didn't want to wait so drank it it was not good. Than band was on till 11pm and started at 8 and at 9 she just gave me my bill! I was like guess I have to leave? The band was so good to wanted to stay but I was angry and left on principal. I told a few waitress after that and everyone said I should have got my money back. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. This was I'm the Pacific lounge.

Maybe one of my all time favorite hotels. So light and bright! Windows and a balcony! I didn't want to leave! Great location! Beautiful view from both sides. On site food and bar. Walking distance to so much.

Great stay at the Grand Pacific! The wheelchair accessible room is spacious, with a small but accessible balcony — unusual and good! There is a much appreciated automatic door opener — but its placement behind the closet door meant that every time I opened the closet door (which I had to open fully, being in a wheelchair…) I also triggered the room door to open! One more little bugbear — I spend a fair amount of time on bed, and need to plug my chair in to charge it after a full day in town. More sockets at the bedside would really be appreciated!

Really nice hotel with a great staff. It locate in the heart of the Victoria. Nice big rooms and bathrooms. They have an excellent health club with a great pool. The health club has excercise machines, free weights, and have yoga classes.

The hotel is still nice but the rooms are starting to show their age. I would no longer rank it along the top tier of accommodations in Victoria. The staff are pleasant and helpful.

Everyone from managers to housekeeping and wait staff were equally qualified and all excelled in their customer service, attention to detail, and anticipation of needs. This place is very fancy. They have all the amenities you could want. This includes a parking garage, pool, valet, taxi service and many more. Its right in downtown so you could walk to almost anything in the area. Great views. Great staff. Would reccomend to anyone going to Victoria.

The Best We Have Stayed At The hotel is one of the best we have stayed at. It felt exclusive and the facilities matched this most of the time. The room were the biggest and the best layed out I have ever stayed in and the food/breakfast was Everyone in the hotel was also very helpful and always deal with a smile. Especially the manager Mr Raaj is very helpful and very kind person thank you Raaj for your care we really appreciate that.

This was my 1st experience at the Grand Pacific. It looked cleaned however their carpet and decor was outdated. Handicap accessibility and about 5 minutes walk to the ferry. Staff seemed quite nice and I would say their hall would accommodate at least 120 people comfortably. Their food was nice (we had a special catering Indian buffet by them).

The service was fantastic. We did not eat the food, we only had drinks while we enjoyed live jazz music. A great venue to enjoy a quiet evening or live music when available.

We we're very excited to stay here, but upon arrival we were told that unless we could present a credit card for a pre-authorized damage Depot fee, we would need to cancel. We travel frequently, an every hotel we've stayed in could simply charge the damage deposit on ANY card (which includes the VISA debit that I prefer to use) and then simply refund it at check-out. While I would be understanding that they simply have a different policy than all other hotels, for whatever reason, I am giving a one star rating because the staff treated us as inferior human beings simply because we couldn't present a credit card. We shouldn't have to feel humiliated, especially since we travelled all day and were very tired. It would have been great if the staff had tried to work on a solution. Instead, we had to cancel and scramble to find alternative accommodation. Luckily, all other hotels in Victoria we're happy to simply charge the damage deposit onto my VISA debit. We ended up staying at the Chateau Victoria and were very pleased with the room, the views, the amenities, and the very courteous staff.

I stayed here for 3 weeks while working in Victoria. The location is fantastic and the service I received was consistently excellent. The room fixtures could use some updating but the beds are comfortable, the amenities are great and I appreciated having such a nice place to return to after a long work day.

This is my "go to" Hotel in Victoria. It is always appointed so well, soft colts, decorative lighting and always the best staff! Attentiive, offer great suggestions, friendly but professional! Beds and room service are awesome. I love the Inner Harbor views too. When open, the pool is a great treat. Love it all!

My boyfriend bought me a two night stay here for Christmas. He bought it for me on the knowledge it was one of the highest rated hotels in Victoria with spa and pool amenities. We checked in yesterday and were told all spa and pool facilities were closed until mid January. This was NOT communicated to us any time prior to check in nor was the price amended to reflect their reduction in services. Reception told us we can go to another hotel that they have an agreement with and use their facilities — who wants to go out in their spa attire in January weather to go to another hotel?! Very poor customer service in my opinion, this should have been communicated to us when booking. Other than that, a nice quiet friendly hotel.

Very nice 4 star hotel for more affordable than the Fairmont with some of the same architectural features. Great to do with the Victoria Clipper, is located just 1 block from the pier. Beautiful views, elegant interior, and nice staff. Our room was comfy and we felt pampered. Across the street from the Capitol building and a 10 minute walk from downtown.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I am only going to say 2 things that may reflect this hotel in a semi negative way. 1. ) I found a couple of hairs on the toilet 2. ) There isn't much happening at the hotel itself as opposed to the Empress. Both those things though wouldn't stop me from staying here again. The hotel is classy and despite a few hairs that I was able to clean with a quick swipe, it is quite clean. Easy access to everything and there are some beautiful walks within 2 minutes. The rooms have little balconies and great views for the most part. Employees were extremely pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We are staying in suite 412. This is a very nice hotel providing all amenities for travelers. Underground secure parking, full spa, gym and pool. The room is fully renovated, bed are comfortable and rooms have all the modern conveniences. We come to Victoria 3 to 4 times a year and this is our second time staying at the Grand. It will certainly not be our last. Staff is the best one could hope for and very attentive to you request. Housekeeping has been looking after us well while we are here. Nice views of the city from our room looking east onto the lawns of the Parliament buildings fully light up for Christmas.

Going to be going there for new years eve. Murray the concierge has been nothing but helpful! He is very knowledgeable of the area and surroundings. He will stay in touch via email with links to all the places that you're interested in. I will have another review at the beginning of next month on how the experience will be with the 3 course meal for new years along with the overall experience. So far all good!

Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room service was great. Our room was clean and large with a balcony and great view. Separate extra sink outside of washroom was a plus. Complimentary safe, robes, tea, bottled water and coffee.

I recently booked two rooms at this hotel for out of town business associates. This hotel provides an excellent guest experience from check in to check out. The rooms are spotless and provide a quiet, comfortable stay. We met as a group in the restaurant/lounge, the food and service quality was second to none. It was beautiful, a classic old school style with modern touches. We enjoyed the balcony and it's harbour view and its location is central to the entertainment area of downtown and the quiet side of the wharf village area. The room was not unique, it was modern and updated. The bedding was absolutely wonderful and the bathroom was beautiful and bright! We would stay here again!

I often stay at the Grand Pacific in Victoria. It's great service in the best location with views you can't buy anywhere else. This time I was heading to Vancouver staying at the PAN Pacific, but mistakenly booked the GRAND in Victoria. I arrived with no room in Vancouver (sorted), and then called back to Victoria. It was after check-out and they didn't need to refund me, but the manager did with no fuss. That level of service never goes unnoticed — thanks!

Super Hotel with a 25m pool complex, bubble baths, sauna and running hammam. Great location.

Very well-run hotel. Clean, comfortable room. Tasty breakfast buffet included with our room. Could use more electric outlets in the room, especially near the bed. The towels seemed a bit thin for a hotel of this caliber.

Great location, within walking distance of downtown, oldtown, and Chinatown! The room was very nice and the bed was super comfortable. The air conditioning didn't work as well as I would have figured, given how nice the rest of the hotel is. Also we woke up to a window washer at 9am looking into our room? That was unexpected and frankly a bit strange, hence the missing star. Otherwise it was great! The hotel even held on to our luggage after check out so we could do more shopping before catching the clipper home!

We loved the balcony overlooking the bay. The children loved that as well as the elevator which also has a window to look out while moving between floors. The children's pool depth at 2ft — 2.5ft was perfect for both the 2yr and 5yr children.

The location it's superb. Very close to the waterfront and downtown. The rooms where nicely spacious and will looked after. The service was second to none. Everyone I should with was more than helpful.

Beautiful hotel with great facilities in a perfect location. You are right opposite the harbour with everything at your doorstep. The swimming pool (decent size lap pool, spa, kids pool, sauna) and gym are great and open til 10pm. Rooms were spacious and room service was good too if not a little bit pricey. I would definitely stay here again.

The food is great, the rooms very comfortable and I love the wee deck to sit and gaze at the harbour view. The meeting room for the course I'm on is a bit distracting, again that view… the only thing that would have made it better was not having a fire alarm. No ones fault, just a small wrinkle to my stay. Everyone that I've spoken to that works here has been wonderful. Great place to stay.

We had a suite on the 5th floor with 2 balconies. It was BEAUTIFUL with a spectacular view of the inner harbor and the capitol building (a balcony facing each one). The view was stunning both day and night. It was not that expensive either so a great value for the money. The furnishings were comfortable and luxurious with all the amenities you needed and pretty artwork, pictures of Victoria. The location of this hotel couldn't be a better base from which to see the sights of Victoria. The whole organization was extremely well managed and the employees were friendly and seemed happy which translates into a happy guest experience. I would highly recommend this hotel — we were just DELIGHTED from start to finish.

Very happy with our stay. Even though there was construction we were not bothered by it. The pool facility was excellent. $18 fir parking but that is to be expected with this fantastic location. We will stay here again.

Beautiful hotel. We were on our Honeymoon and they upgraded us to the Malahat Suite on the top floor. It was gorgeous. Courteous staff and overall great stay. Would visit again!

The hotel itself is nice but unfortunately we encountered a number of deficiencies during our recent stay. The internet was down the entire time. Personal and work deadlines were missed due to lack of notification. We were informed we could bypass an "error message" online but that was not possible on short notice it was too late to compensate for this. We purchased yogurt, pastries and other breakfast items to store in the fridge overnight. They spoiled because the fridge did not work. The pool was closed for renovations which made it challenging with young children. Just because it's not peak tourist season doesn't mean these services can be neglected. We're still paying good money for room rates.

Staff were gracious, accommodating and upgraded our room upon arrive. The Views are unmatched at any other hotel. Service was excellent as well and you are within walking distance to all amenities. We will be back every year.

Had a wonderful time staying at the Hotel Grand Pacific. The staff were very helpful and polite. We were looking for a good sushi restaurant in the area and they recommended Azumi which was terrific with delicious food at a reasonable price. When we arrived they upgraded us from a room with a city view to a suite with a harbour view! We will choose Hotel Grand Pacific for our next stay in Victoria. It's centrally located and we were able to walk to many nearby sites and attractions in the downtown core. A great place to stay.

This is a wonderful hotel. Staff was friendly, amenities were wonderful, location is perfect. The only downside was the pool situation. That is one thing my kids always look forward to when we travel together. Using the nearby pools, just is not a viable alternative. I was notified of the pool being closed, but I assumed it would be much easier to access the other pools. I will definitely stay there again once the pool is available for use (for my kids sake).

All good! From the courteous and friendly staff to the very comfortable and elegant environment. This place is a gem in the heart of Victoria. Rooms very well equipped and most comfortably laid out. Views spectacular!

The hotel was under a lot of contruction. Which was fine, but we were hoping the price for one night would be much cheaper than what we paid. The hotel bed sheets, towels and rooms smelled like a gross hospital. And the lady at the front desk was helpful but very snobby/unfriendly. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable.

From we arrived until we left, the hotel services are very good. The hotel staff was very warm, gave us a lot of help, making our stay very easy. We live in a two room Suite here overlooking the Harbor, the scenery was beautiful. Bed is very comfortable, decorate good, too. The only problem is to watch TV a little trouble, we have to keep the furniture slightly moved position can be very comfortable to watch some TV. Other than that, the whole room was very good. We're at a restaurant eat Breakfast, lunch and dinner out. Arrived that night we were too tired, but we have to eat something. We ordered room service a few minutes after the food arrived, and that is what we want. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel, the building has Victorian antique feel, and the staff services are extremely outstanding.

At the Amica staff party. Excellent food though the beets needed more cooking and the carrot salad needed seasoning. Conference room was really nice. We had a blast. :)

Perfect if coming in on the Victoria Clipper or COHO. It is right across the street facing the ports. Walk vs. Cab. The room we were in was spacious with a small living area and separate bedroom; two balconies, great views; corner room; two sinks; granite counters; great staff; great facilities; Wi-Fi worked great (especially since we forgot to get international service on our phones) :-) We will stay there again next time. We had dinner there one night some time ago. Next trip to Victoria we stayed at the hotel just because the restaurant experience was so good. Dined there 3 more times during the past week, and I have to say the restaurant service and food are both world class. Best in Victoria, and there is a lot of excellent competition there!

What an incredible gem of a hotel! The rooms were spotless, and the staff not only welcoming but extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciated the use of the Victoria Athletic club and the ability to attend classes without additional charge really made my stay stand out. This is definitely my first choice for a place to stay in Victoria!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Pacific. The staff were always smiling and extremely helpful. I was also blown away at what they included with our room. Bicycles, ipads, swimming pool where just the icing on the cake. We will definitely come back.

Hotel staff very helpful. Concierge staff stellar. Wonderful location near ferry, and could walk everywhere! Facilities and amenities spot on! Would highly recommend this hotel.

First, the good: it's a nice hotel with a good-size suite with two queen beds and the beds were comfortable. Nice location with great views of Victoria harbor if you get a room in the front, and a wonderful view of the Parliament Building lit up at night if you get that end of the hotel, which I strongly recommend. Next, the bad: what is the single highest priority feature of a hotel? A good night of sleep. Major fail here. I booked the reservation weeks in advance and thought I was told I would be on the fifth floor (out of ten, I believe). Turned out we were put on the third floor and the second floor was booked with TWO weddings our first night in Victoria and BOTH events were playing concert-volume music until well past midnight. Our room was thumping with bass, we could hear the songs being played, and wedding guests were yelling above the music on the outdoor balcony of the ballroom until the event ended. I complained twice and was told both times that the hotel manager would have the volume turned down but that didn't happen. My daughter was distraught, I was livid. The hotel manager gave us two vouchers for the hotel breakfast buffet and to add insult to injury the hotel buffet just plain sucks. And here is the kicker, the final straw and reason for two stars: the morning after the weddings I asked if we could get moved to a similar room on a higher floor in order to avoid any more noisy events during our stay.

This is my second time at this hotel and both times was an exceptional experience. I felt welcome from the moment that I arrived. The staff was professional and the hotel is sparkliing clean. The rooms smell fresh and the linens were perfect. The workout facilities are exceptional basically could be a full health club in the hotel and the pool is perfect too. I found all the features of the hotel to be high end and the value excellent. I would stay here again. The location on the harbour is an amazing feature in itself but the hotel shines in the high standards that it sets.

Great staff and service until I had the misfortune of tripping in front of the hotel's main entrance where two bell personnel were standing at their station causing a cut above my eye requiring a visit to the hospital and five stitches, to my utmost surprise, no staff members bothered to come to my aid or even acknowledge the mishap, hotel guests had to take it upon themselves to come to my support, I find it very disappointing for a guest to be ignored at time of need for help.

First time in Victoria. We loved the room but was pricey for the upgrade. We hated the Wharf (Barbs), and local restaurants. Finally tried the hotel restaurant. It was the best food we had. Real home cut fries, good entertainment, good steak… Great service but wife got a hair in her diner plate (not hers).

Had to wait an 1-1/2 hours for my room to be ready than the Fridge in room was not stocked and still dirty with other content. Not very organized. Had a package that I was waiting for and they did not deliver it at check-in only after inquiring twice if there is anything for me they started searching. Poor experience.

Awesome hotel, awesome location, awesome city! Got an upgrade to room 950, the Songhees suite. Absolutely the best hotel suite I've even been to. It's not perfect, but very close to it. Three balconies, 2 of them overlooking the harbor! huge living/dining room, half bath, in foyer. King size bedroom separate from the living room, nice master bath. Excellent furniture, clean & comfortable. Incredible view from any of many windows! Very conveniently located, easy walks around the harbor, near the Empress and the Legislative Palace (great place to see). We were there on July 1st, Canada day. It was an incredible day with great fireworks we saw from our balconies! Big crowds in the streets, lots of music and celebrations, food trucks, artisan booths and more. Definitely something to see. I recommend this hotel specially if you get a harbor view room and definitely if you book the 950 suite or similar. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. We did not use the pool or the exercise room but we saw them and they are very nice. It's right across the street from the Black Ball ferry, very convenient if you come in on the Coho Ferry from Port Angeles which we did. Thanks very much for the upgrade!

This was a terrible hotel experience. We had an initial issue due to my husband’s disability and some poor communication with staff at the beginning. (short explanation: We require a lift over the bed, when booking our trip I called and spoke with the front desk to ask them about the height above the bed because of our need to put up a lift over the bed. The desk staff had maintenance call me back and assure me the height of the ceiling was around 8 feet, standard height. When we arrived, the accessible guest suite had a bulkhead for air-conditioning at the room entrance that was around 8 feet, but then slightly over the bed transitioned to an around 9 foot ceiling, the transition itself making our lift impossible in that space. We had to move the bed into the middle of the room to be able to use the lift and the bed, cutting off the balcony and most other space (the accessible rooms are small rooms to begin with). We spoke with numerous staff, including assistant managers, managers, etc. And at each step the customer service got worse and worse. The staff were all very nice and pleasant but not only completely unhelpful in terms of resolving these situations but quickly became insulting. (short explanation: we were told a) this was “a 15 year old hotel, so you know” b) “there is no legislation around this” c) other guest (even named other guests to us) have stayed there with no problems.

Went to Victoria for a weekend getaway and got a room here last minute at a great price for the value of what we got. Our room was the city view looking out at the harbour and it was great. Location of the hotel is in a prime area, right across from the Empress and right beside the Parliament Hill building. Another pro is if you take the shuttle from downtown it stops and picks up guests from the hotel. I mentioned that it was my boyfriend's birthday during our stay when I called in to make a reservation. When we checked in he got a nice birthday card and a complimentary dessert at the restaurant. This small act really started our trip on a positive note. The rooms are extremely clean and loved waking up to the view and a Globe and Mail newspaper. You have to put the pillows at the base of your bed to indicate you'd like new sheets. All in all, great place to stay in Victoria and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Hotel Grand Pacific to my friends.

It was a lovely hotel and we had a wonderful view from our room. I had two experiences that I think should be noted (1) you need to talk with your receptionists about 'attitude'! Every time we walked to and from the elevator to the dining room they would just stare or not even look up. Never did we have one of the women acknowledge our existence and I think this is due to poor attitude — what does it take to smile or even say, 'having a good day''? Also when I went up to the counter to ask for the use of a pen and paper, the woman didn't even look up until I said 'can someone help me' and there were two clerks on duty. This was on Thursday afternoon around 3pm and these were both caucasion women. I believe one was Andrea? but not sure. The gentlemen throughout the lobby and outside were extremely hospitable, sharply dressed and groomed. The waitress in the dining room was also extremely personable and even surprised us with a Memosa to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary which was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. The breakfast was very good but a bit pricey — $17 for 2 pieces of french toast and coffee. (2) Also, I left our beds unmade and pulled down so the maid would change the linen after we had spent 2 nights there — she did NOT change the sheets and also did not leave us coffee cups for the morning so we used the water glasses — we were not happy about this and even my husband said not to leave an adequate tip because of her laziness.

We recently held some small meetings at the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria and loved it. The service was fantastic and our meeting room was well appointed. We will be back.

Great Hotel, enjoyed the friendly and knowledgeable staff! Rooms were great clean spacious, bed very comfortable, nice bedding. For me the pool area is 5 stars! Sauna, Steam, pool, and kid pool my niece loved! Highly recommend this place! The food is great as well.

Close to everything and bicycles offered free for your daily 2 wheeled fix, and it's pretty flat here. Enjoyed that. Solid little gym. Staff was nice making sure I had to much in room coffee. Thank you. Room was small but cozy and clean. TV, internet all did their job. 6th floor had a small view of the harbor, which is only a 30 second walk anyways. Lots of eateries and Thrifty groceries (great store) was an 8 minute walk. All in all, we'd plant our behinds there again, for sure. Victoria is very nice.

Other finding a dirty wash cloth in the shower, the experience was lovely. The staff was polite and knowledgable.

I was very unhappy with my stay here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and do not plan on staying here ever again. The regular check-in time at 3 pm. We arrived around 11 am and were told we would be put on a "priority list" to have our room ready. We checked back several times and were continuously told it would only be 30 minutes longer. At the same time other guests were arriving after us and being checked in. Needless to say we ended up checking in after 3 pm and had to rush to a 3:45 reservation. On top of that I was booked a king bed and we were given two twins. Also Wi-Fi in our room did not work. We had to go to the lobby anytime we needed to use the internet. The only saving grace for this hotel is the Pacific Restaurant which was very delicious. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Nice, comfortable rooms, I had a private balcony overlooking the Harbour, East wing, third floor, centre. I think the rooms just lacked some sort of "life", even if there was a dried flowers arrangement added, just to give it an extra something. The beds are the right softness and comfort, the pillows are great. I would have liked the Space channel being made available to feel a little more at home. They only have about 20 channels, which seems like basic cable. But it's right downtown so you can walk to any major location within minutes! Tim, the Valet Parking Attendant, was excellent, made my sister feel welcome as a Guest when she wanted to park for the night while we visited the city. Reception is inviting, though it felt a little business like. The Business center is a little awkwardly placed though, I would have preferred it being made available on the ground floor, near Reception. It's awkward trying to find it from the East wing, and they gave me wrong directions three times. I finally had to exit the hotel, walk to the front, and in underneath the terrace cafe. But it's 24 hours and has a hotel swipe card entry. Room Service was very professional, very polite, the service trays are the proper size to fit on the bed, the writing desk or the coffee service table. The food was a little normal, it could use a twist of sorts, like using a different potato for the fries, or a different bun for the burgers.
