Very attentive staff. Excellent location. Our room also had full kitchen facilities — very handy for those who are staying longer than one night. Also had a good shower.

Good location, quiet, spacious rooms and well equipped and very helpful staff.

We bought a Mother's Day package from Black Ball Ferry and were treated to a great experience at the hotel. The fourth floor suite was spacious and well supplied. The extra touch of a sparkling beverage and chocolates was nice. We did not take advantage of the game room or billiard room but we had the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi to ourselves for an evening swim and soak. We look forward to our next visit.

This hotel is a Beautiful unknown Gem. The rooms are very nice and cozy. Has a homely type feel to it. A taste of England in Victoria.

Lots of great amenities, including a pool that our daughter loved, a games room, and a billiards room. Our suite was spacious given the price and came with a well-stocked kitchen (dishes, cutlery, utensils) so we could cook our own meals if we wanted to. Location was great and parking was free. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Service was excellent. Rooms nice and comfortable and clean. Pool was an added bonus. Location was excellent, very walkable to sites. Only downside is the bathroom is a bit small, but definitely you get used to it.

My family has spend 2 days. We have enjoyed our vacation time. We feel like home. If we could visit Victoria next time, I want to come back here. Yes, they have non-smoking room. The most rooms have small kitchen and ware-cooks. You could enjoy cooking. This place is so close to Chinatown. You just spend 5 or 7 minutes for driving to there. I hope this place will be a good place for you to stay and visit Victoria B. C.

Loved our visit. They upgraded us to a kitchen. It was very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable and staff was very friendly. Highly recommended would go back.

I found the room spacious and clean, but it had a very musty smell, almost like stale smoke, but it was nonsmoking. The decor was a very traditional (old school) feel. Maybe I'm not the target market. Location is great and the price was reasonable. They offer shuttle service to local restaurants and attractions. They also have loaner umbrellas, which is a really good thing in Victoria.

The studio suite was immaculate and elegant. It included on bedroom with large probably queen bed, living room with pull out sleeper couch large enough to sleep two, kitchen with sink, stove, microwave, frig. Bathroom with tub shower sink and toilet supplied with lots of towels. Service was polite and friendly. The hotel is within a short walk of main attractions and ferry.

Hotel is charming and has character. The restaurant has a 3 course meal for dinner that is good value for money. The hot tub, sauna and pool are well maintained. Great location. Definitely recommend staying here.

The Royal Scot has excellent rooms. I usually stay in suites with a small kitchen but they restaurant is also good for breakfast. Within walking distance of parliament and the bc museum. Definitely a good option in Victoria and cheaper than big name hotels like the empress.

Overall, this is a good place to stay. A couple of things: parking at $50 a day is horrendous, the Wi-Fi is a bit slow and the suite decor was a bit dated. But it was pretty quiet, absolutely spotlessly clean, the service was friendly and it's in a great central location. I would consider staying here again — especially if they cut the parking prices a bit!

This is our third time to the Royal Scot Hotel and Suites staying in a 1bd Suite for the holiday vacation. They are spacious, clean and perfect for our family. The kit hen has everything you need and the beds are comfortable. Love it here!

Very nice hotel, staff goes above and beyond to make sure guests are happy. Very welcoming while traveling with my service dog. Great shuttle service and close to the ferry. Would highly recommend.

Jonathan's is an excellent restaurant with friendly, attentive, and courteous staff. Selection is not overwhelming, but what food they serve, they prepare extremely well. The French Onion soup will take a bit to cool lest it burn your mouth, teasing you worth its savory scent the whole while, but it's very much worth the wait.

I usually don't give hotels 5 stars but this hotel was special. It's very very close to everything you would want to see in downtown Victoria and right across the street from the Black Ball Coho Ferry. I would definitely recommend staying here. The rates are great! We saved literally hundreds of dollars by staying here and only gained by that. Staff were very accommodating and very nice. They have great activities including pool shuffleboard swimming pool and hot tub along with several other amenities. They also have a shuttle that will take you where you need to go.

I frequent our capital, (luckily) as a highway coach driver. I have MANY opinions (especially in regards to traffic lol). When it comes to getting a good nights sleep, a great meal, and location… The Royal Scot cannot be beat. (For driver AND 57 passengers).

Great location, clean room, helpful staff. Having a kitchen is a nice plus too if you have a family or don't want to eat out. We'd come back!

Good locality, close to everything you want to see in Victoria. Have stayed there over the last ten years & always enjoyed our stay. Comfortable & clean rooms. Housekeeping ladies wonderful, very helpful.

This hotel was fantastic! Comfortable bed, spacious rooms, convenient location, and very friendly staff! They set the bar high, and other hotels should take a page from their hospitality play book! Highly recommend!

Our room was dark, moldy and outdated. The bed was squiky and too soft. There was a this scent in the air that reminded me of wet wood and dusty wall to wall carpet. This hotels got some points for the well equipped kitchen with pots, pans and utensils and the friendly staff. For the price they're charging, you have much better options close to the city center.

Very nice hotel within walking distance of downtown. There is a nice pool for kids and the rooms are clean. The kitchenette is well equipped. Will definitely return.

Very nice hotel for the price. The front desk staff was very helpful in answering our questions about the area. Only complaint I have is there was no AC in the room I was in. It was nice that they supplied fans though. A Plus service. We will be back.

Great service. Greeted very professionally and introduced to all services and amenities hotel provides. My family and I were upgraded from bachelor to one bedroom corner, top floor suite. Kitchen has everything any family would need. My kids (3-years old twins) loved roomy living room. The only downside I have, hence 4 stars, is the fact that the hotel is outdated. It needs upgrade in my opinion. Yes, it is very well maintained, but needs uplift of kitchen and bathroom, at least.

Very clean hotel, centrally located and very convenient. The staff is really helpful and accommodating. Checking in was a breeze and we were allowed to get in immediately upon our arrival. We got upgraded from bachelor to one bedroom apartment and it worked really well for us. The apartment was very spacious and had all you need for a few day stay. Kitchen is well equipped with dishes and cutlery. TVs in living and in the bedroom, Wi-Fi is available but is not secured, and can be intermittent in signal strength Hotel would benefit from updating as although everything was very clean we did encounter one silverfish in the dining room light fixture. We also had an issue with clogged bathtub, but the staff was really helpful and immediately responded at our request. I loved the extra touches like apples at the reception, and a small candy dish and cream cookies that were left every day in the apartment, in addition to selection of teas and coffees. We enjoyed our stay, but would love to see this hotel gem be upgraded. Immaculate cleanliness and responsive staff as well as the extra touches will leave you with good impression and will make your stay pleasurable.

Superb quality especially for the value! Unbeatable location (less than 5 minutes by foot from Inner Harbour), great customer service which includes the complimentary on-demand shuttle to/from Downtown Core. Walk everywhere easily. Tucked away a block from the touristic drag, so you're still guaranteed quiet with great rest on the rather comfortable beds. Rooms are rather spacious and fully kitted out (e. G. Flatware, plates/bowls, toaster, microwave, etc. ). I'd definitely stay here again my next time in Victoria!

A stone's throw from the harbour and is located right where the actions happens. Excellent rooms, service, food (at Jonathan's) and extremely quiet. It's like a full apartment there. Won't disappoint.

Location is excellent, rooms were ok felt like 16th century, not super hygenic and the freezer was really loud at night) and the staff was below average (not welcoming at all, very distant and cold). Wouldn't go there again, worst accommodation during our two week trip in CA.

Perfect place for our family. A home away from home. The kitchen lets us cook a meal in the room. The living room gives us a place to relax. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly. The pool was great for wrapping up great days in Victoria.

Breakfast was exceptional. Very friendly staff. Parents were staying and they really liked it.

I had seen the Royal Scot advertised as a 4-star hotel, but it's definitely more of a 3-star, comparable to a Best Western. So, it wasn't quite the value I expected. The beds were comfortable and the room clean, which was great. The location is very convenient as well. The shuttle ending early on NYE was disappointing, though.

Nice, clean rooms. Decor is a bit outdated, but overall nice hotel and nice location. The shuttle bus is a bonus too.

Friendly and accommodating staff, they upgraded our room at no cost, the shuttle will take you just about anywhere for free (we tipped the driver), my only complaint is that there is a guy who sweeps the parking lot every morning at 7 am. He woke us up more than once. We gave that feedback last year, but he was there again this year. So I would suggest a room that doesn't face the lot.

This is our 2nd time here and spent 6 nights. The front staff is very helpful and rooms are well taken care of. Housekeeping was very careful and respect of items left while we stayed.

Lovely room. Elegant but affordable. We walked from the blackball. They have a shuttle that will take you nearly every where. Kitchenette was nice for breakfast in room.

Not happy — stayed in July 2014 for one evening was satisfied and at a reasonable rate — came back two days later after going up island and tried for a similar room. Although a similar room was available was told it would be an amount $60 more than two days earlier. We did not stay, so went elsewhere as we felt we were taken advantage of. We are returning customers at Royal Scot — only place we ever stay when coming to Victoria, but now not sure if we will ever book there again.

This was a well-run and upscale hotel. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. I especially liked the art. Unfortunately, the 'queen' bed was too small for two adults used to a king. We would have given the hotel a 4-star except for the breakfast. I would have preferred Denny's. The meat was tasteless and the sausage was (or at least tasted like) turkey, not 'pure pork' as advertised. Service was okay but not stellar. Desk service was fine and anticipated our needs — but got the two parties reversed which caused unnecessary confusion at check-out. It's close (walking distance) to everything important and an ideal place to stay before getting on the Black Ball ferry back to the US. The Victoria Express is also within walking distance. We would be back — not to eat there, but to overnight — but insist on two beds.

For the price we paid it was excellent. Room was great. Everything inside room was good. Staff was the best I have never been treated so well in a hotel. The shuttle service was AWESOME! everything was really really good will be telling friends and well stay there again the next time I come back! one bad side the restaurant was RUDE! food was crap do not eat from there.

We LOVE the Royal Scot Hotel and Suites and will stay there again and again and again. The location is perfect. The service is fantastic, and the rooms are incredible! We ate in the restaurant as well as had in-room dining, both experiences were fantastic! The front desk staff at the hotel are so accomodating as well as house-keeping. The pet-friendly rooms are also great! We will be staying here many many many more times.

Decent enough. Staff are extremely polite and helpful. Good location. Don't expect much from the continental breakfast, though.
