My family and I just spent 4 nights here. The beds were super comfy, the suite was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. It also has a great pool/hot tub area. We had a really great stay and definitely recommend this hotel!

Highly recommend the Chateau!
Stayed the last weekend of September 2019 for my Birthday. We were upgraded to a suite, which was beautiful with a lovely view. We asked for a good Japanese restaurant and they made the reservation for us upon check in. In our room, we were greeted with Birthday wishes and chocolate! The valet service is a welcome touch. We have stayed here quite a few times and have always had exceptional service, but they went above and beyond! Thank you for making our weekend so enjoyable! We will definitely be back!

Its in the heart of downtown Victoria where you can find friendly, funny and amazing people.

We came here with an Evergreen Tour cannot fault Evergreens tours … The check in staff were great … Our tour had a dinner on the 18th floor … The female waiting staff just perfect the male waiting staff incredibly rude when we asked for a wine list he said "we only have 2 lists let me know what you are after " repeated again we want to see the wine list … We ordered a total of 4 medium rose wines which totalled $78 including gratuitous of $9, plus tax, plus liquor tax on top, do not get me wrong we do not mind paying gratuitous when the service is on par, it was not! He was incredibly rude & obnoxious … There is no way I would ever recommend dining here EVER! Disgusting service indeed …

I had the good fortune of staying at Chateau Victoria for a conference a few weeks ago. The room, lobby, and services were fantastic. The location cannot be beat, but far and away the best part about this hotel were the folks who worked there. Across the board they were friendly, and they bent over backwards to accommodate me. I told them the activities I was interested in and they worked out the logistics right down to the shuttle service. It was great! I absolutely recommend it and can't wait to go back.

This small hotel in downtown Victoria can fool you by its cover. Although it doesn't seem very nice in the outside its nicely lit together in the inside. Although the decor is fairly normative and almost basic (the art and furniture are very Winners like) the rooms are comfortable and clean. The nice toiletries included are a plus and the coffee is actually great (compared to the low quality coffee offered in most hotels of this price range). The staff is helpful and nice, not overly welcoming. Good place to stay, close to goo shops and restaurants.

EDIT: Over the past 5 years Chateau Victoria would have earned a 5 star rating but after my last experience I will no longer be staying here. Room was noisy. Amenities have all been reduced compared to past stays here. Overpriced for a 3 star hotel. Staff is okay but there is one bellhop who went out of their way to be rude and argumentative. They have zero interest in accommodating regular guests and are obviously out to nickel-and-dime. This hotel has changed for the worse in 2018. The Marriott across the street or The Parkside a block away are far more professional and deserving of your business.

I stayed 2 weekends in a row at this hotel and purposely booked the second week here because of the great first experience. The location is perfect… walking distance to the harbour, parliament buildings, museum etc. Our one bedroom suite was perfect. Clean, spacious and the view! Omg the view was FANTASTIC! Great breakfast upstairs at Vista and loved the courtesy shuttle to take you where you wanted to go. My 7-year-old son loved the shuttles and the drivers who were so, incredibly great with him. The staff, though, is what really brought me back here. They are so warm, sincere, genuine, friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Katie and Kimberly at the front desk and Keith and Jesse who shuttled us around, among a whole slew of other things. I loved how great they all were with my son and his “pet skunk”, especially Keith (don’t worry, the skunk is a stuffy my son takes everywhere lol). Thank you for two amazing weekends. I’ll definitely be returning to Chateau Victoria for my next visit.

The room was well appointed if a little small. The top four restaurant and the lobby floor lounge were great. The front desk was SUPER helpful in giving us ideas for things to do and places to eat. On our last day, they let us keep our bags in a secure place while we strolled the city. They also provided a shuttle to local attractions. I would stay there again.

Nice hotel. Had a luxury suit. Very spacious for two adults and two teenage kids. Walking distance from ferry, museum, Empress hotel etc. Two minutes walk from Budget car rental. Rooftop restaurant with reasonable priced breakfast. Free shuttle rides to nearby restaurants so we did not have to look for parking. Nearby places to eat — Cora for family friendly breakfast and Be Love for vegan/vegetarian dining. If we ever came back to this beautiful city, Chateau Victoria will be our top choice. One more thing, very friendly and helpful staff.

Great staff, in room products and location. Bathroom has a window type door so when my husband turned the bathroom light on at 3 AM, the entire room lit up so I awoke too. I do not enjoy that feature nor the air conditioner (picture) which runs continuously and doesn't adequately cool our room. We put the sign for an early clean up outside of our room at 8 AM and returned at 2:30 and the room still wasn't cleaned. The breakfast buffet is not much better than what you get for free at other hotels but costs $20 per person. The lobby staff are terrific!

The hotel is a nice clean place and the front desk woman who initially welcomed us was quite cordial. However why would anyone be placed right next to the gym room? Even if that were necessary because the hotel was sold out, you should ask the guest and disclose that there is a chance of really loud noises in the middle of the night and a very big probability of waking up at 6 in the morning to the sound of a treadmill going at full speed. Normally I am an early bird, up by 5 a. M. I, however, do not want to wake up super early on vacation! I am especially dissatisfied with the lack of communication as they mentioned that the pool was unavailable because it’s under construction. Had anyone said that I would wake up multiple times due to very loud noises in the gym room and not sleep past 6, I definitely would have paid the extra amount to upgrade to another floor. Definitely not worth the $270 American dollars paid for one night. I am an unhappy customer. Stay away from room 209 and perhaps of this whole vicinity, as it’s definitely not worth it!

We stayed in the one bedroom suite just after the Victoria long weekend for an awesome 3 nights. Sadly our first encounter with the front desk staff left us feeling a bit off; Ian, whose lapel tag read “I’m new”, did not offer a warm welcome. We are a super friendly family and do understand that he’s new; he didn’t smile at all though and preauthorized our credit card for almost $300 more than was expected. I asked why there was such a huge difference in the pricing and he explained that since we had three people in our group that there was an additional charge. I did explain that we had booked for the three of us initially and were surprised to see the huge difference in price; he didn’t offer much more of an explanation. Shortly after arriving to our room he phoned us to let us know that he made an error but did not apologize. This hotel is perfectly located to access the harbour and all your downtown shopping needs. The room was clean and housekeeping was amazing throughout our stay. Also a huge shout out to our room service gentlemen, I wish I remembered his name as he was very kind and funny. We even ran into him in the elevator a number of times and he joked with our son, extremely pleasant! The pool was being renovated which was disappointing, we had booked expecting renovations to be completed almost a month before our arrival.

Loved this place. All the staff were beyond nice, although the elevators were tight fit, the staff & room made up for it. I would definitely visit again! More than grateful for our stay (:

Amazing location for exploring Victoria without a car. We came via the Victoria Clipper, which is also just a short walk away. They're located just behind the Empress Hotel in the lovely inner bay area. From the Chateau Victoria, you can walk to many tourist destinations in a couple of minutes, Water Taxi tours, the Royal Victoria Museum, Miniature World, Insect Zoo, Rogers Chocolates, Murchie's Tea, Tea at the Empress, Munroe's Books. They also have a shuttle and will drive you short distances. The hotel was clean and modern, with comfortable beds and rooms. They provided a crib for our infant. Our suite had a wraparound balcony with quite a view. They provide coffee and newspapers in the lobby in the morning. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant on the upper floor has an amazing view and a decent breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. It's a lovely place in an amazing location.

Tucked away on a hill behind the famed Empress Hotel, this 17 floor hotel is not historic or lofty. It is inviting, attractive and comfortable. It has everything you would expect of a first rate hotel. From the 5th floor and up, the views are excellent. The rooms and suites (we had a suite on the 16th floor) are chic and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are appealing and reasonably priced; the offerings are creative and tasty. The staff are pleasant and helpful. In a downtown full of great hotels, this one is close to shopping, the inner harbour, the Parliament Buildings and Beacon Hill Park… It is worthy of your consideration.

Not the most modern hotel I have been to, but the charm the staff bring makes up for any fault. I like that there are rooms with a kitchenette. Some rooms have great views too. Location is superb.

First time staying here and will definitely be back. Large comfortable room. Great to have a balcony. Excellent service. Easy walk to almost everything, plenty of parking onsite and bus stop right outside. Clive' s bar is good. Nice to have a drink in a place with no TV! We still have to check out the 18th floor restaurant but expect to find the same high standard.

Very nice hotel in a great city.

I've been staying here regularly for the past 5 years. I come to Victoria for work 5-6 times a year and the Chateau Victoria is always my first choice. During the summer you need to book well in advance though as the hotel fills up quickly. Also since I travel here often I joined their executive club membership which has some great benefits.

My son got us a 2 night queen suite for a Xmas present. We were so excited to be having a weekend away. Our first room had a terrible smell and. Mirrors were dirty with drips down them and it was not cleaning fluid. We phoned to complain and eventually they upgraded us to a better suite but that took about 20 min of waiting to see what they could do new suite was nice and comfy bed. Went to Clive's lounge which was great and then headed up for dinner to VISTA 18. View was amazing, appetizer was delicious but both our main courses were so so. My husband's steak was horrible for the exorbitant price So much grissle and pretty much inedible. We complained and they did comp us but my dinner was not so great for the price either, rabbit was dry, we will never go there again. The garbage was overflowing in the washroom, not something you would expect from a Fine dining place. Other issues:door man unfriendly, front desk staff border line. On the first night but second day friendly. However grestv service and quality drinks were at Clive's.

Central location and friendly staff. Has pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay. Clean and the food is good. Could use an update but not an immediate need. Love being able to walk everywhere.

Regular service. The swimming pool was under renovation and although offered a pass to go to another hotel, I did not find it suitable for that you have to cross the street. It is well located and has parking, although you have to pay separately. You can walk to the bay.

Note** They have a shuttle service that will pick you up from the ferry terminal and provide rides to nearby restaurants and attractions. Very nice lobby when you walk in the door. I was happy with the quality of the suite room we had. Nice view of the city on the balcony. Good amenities and loved the hot tub and pool area. Workout room is small, but wasn't busy when we were there. Friendly staff and very comfortable stay. Also central location to a lot downtown and easily within walking distance from the ferry and other locations.

This is a great hotel in a really good location. The restaurant on the 18th floor has amazing views but also well priced great food. The rooms are nice, newly redecorated with good quality bedding. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back and stay again.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel Oct 18 to the 20th the people at this place were so friendly from the moment we check in until we checked out. We had been planning this trip for a couple of yrs. But not knowing where to stay. We looked on line and all the past reviews were very high. I would highly recommend this hotel for its staff, location and accommodations. It is first class all the way. And yes, if we were to go back, this Hotel would be our first choice and a special thanks to Jessie sorry about the umbrella…

Stayed here last night. Had to call the front desk at 10:30 pm as there was a mouse in my room. They moved me up to a suite on the 12th floor and gave me $30 in restaurant credits. As I was leaving today I went for breakfast which was so so as was the dinner I had the night before. The kicker was when I went to check out they tried to charge me for the upgraded room. I reminded them I had to change rooms due to the mouse in my other room. Glad I checked on the bill before I left. Won't be staying here again.

Clean, modern, and matched the photos posted online. The room had a comfortable bed and a slightly tiny bathroom. Bath products were high quality, and the hotel has a nice pool and spa. The bar at the top of the hill had good tapas with a nice happy hour special and custom cocktails. It's quite walkable to many of Victoria's sights like the waterfront, the empress, and the bc museum. Also near many good restaurants.

Free Wi-Fi. Spacious rooms. Nice location. Good lounge next to reception. Restaurant/Wine bar on the top floor with a view. Comfortable bed.

Stayed in the hotel for 4 nights as an add on to our Titan holiday. What a lovely hotel and the staff were so helpful. Had a problem with the safe and called reception. Someone was there in minutes to sort it for us. Our suite was lovely and the bed so comfortable. Our room was serviced by Jackalyn who did a lovely job. The Jacuzzi was wonderful but the pool a tad too cool. The reception is a beautiful area also the rooftop bar with it's lovely views at night. Thank you for making the last days of our holiday so pleasant. ☺

Great hotel to stay in Victoria, staff from entrance to the top restaurant is very friendly and helpfully, the rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The breakfast in the top floor restaurant absolutely delicious. There is a car park for the guests and the central location of the hotel makes it easy to walk through the city center. Plus a great view to the harbor from our room.

I have to say this is a very nice hotel with great service, even though I didn't stay there. I got my tesla ran out of battery in Victoria and found this place with the tesla destination charger. So I called them and they were very helpful to let me park and charge for a day, with super friendly guidance, just like I were one of their guests.

The staff is the best! Everyone cordial, accommodating and helpful. The food was wonderful! The room immaculate and the bed were very confortable would. I highly suggest to give this a try.

We stayed in the Executive suite which was beautifully renovated with gorgeous kitchen and bedrooms with amazing views. The individual air conditioning in each room was much appreciated during the heat wave. The location is so convenient to walk around to the various tourist attractions such as the legislator, Royal museum, and the Empress. The staff was friendly and professional when we arrived. The coffee bar in the morning is popular station and rightfully so. The one drawback that we found is that the covered parking is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Meaning that people who spent half of what we were spending were able to get close, covered parking whereas we had to park further away in an open, uncovered lot. Thank goodness it wasn't raining.

Great location, friendly service and welcomes pets. We stayed for 2 nights in a suite. The French doors were a nice touch. The AC unit was small and never got below 22° C but when we pointed directly into the bedroom, the night's sleep was much more comfortable. Parking is also very reasonable at $7.50/night self parking. Also, the water pressure in the shower was great! The building does look outdated but it's a small nitpick and for some reason the free Wi-Fi only really worked in the bathroom.

Very nice and welcoming hotel and staff. Spacious and the teens loved the place the minute we entered our room. Also accommodated the 12 of us (4 rooms) to be in the same floor. I would recommend this to everyone.

Great place. Staff are fantastic. Rooftop restaurant offers top notch food with fabulous views. Try the dungeons crab Eggs Benedict (West Coast Benedict) for breakfast… sooo good.

Service was excellent and I got a complimentary upgrade. Amenities were great, very fancy hotel but staff was nice. It also helps that Clive's Classic Lounge, a great cocktail bar, is conveniently located in the hotel. 4 stars because the heating system in one of the most expensive rooms of the hotel was broken and it was roasting. Great location in downtown Victoria!

Very central Location. It has its own parking garage veles per day Costs. The room was very large with two rooms, clean and tidy.

A nice hotel, walking distance to downtown Victoria and its attrations. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only drawback was that our room looked over the delivery bay. Would have rather had a street view, but it didn't ruin our vacation, as we spent most of the day sightseeing and eating at Victoria's wonderful restaurants. Speaking of, for spectacular views of the city and surroundings, head up to the 18th floor of the hotel to the Vista 18. It is a great place for good food, drinks and views to die for.

Somewhat older but well maintained and our room has a separate office room with desk and sofa. Balcony offers light and city view is there though not remarkable. Cocktail lounge is supposed to be well regarded but did not try.

The location is very central, and the rooms recently refurbished. We were upgraded to a small suite. Can't fault the place.

We just stayed there over the weekend for two nights. The room was clean, nicely decorated and very quiet at night. What stood out was how friendly and kind the staff are. Also, the location is fantastic. You can walk to everywhere from this hotel.

I travel to Victoria regularly and have always been happy with Chateau Victoria. The location and service are consistently excellent. Staff is extremely welcoming and breakfast in Vista 18 has always been great.

As someone who is in hotels quite regularly, it should say something, that I prefer The Château Victoria to any other in Victoria. They may not have stunning views, but the stuff is so warm and welcoming, they knew me by name after my first visit, and they have upgraded me every single time I've been there since my second visit. I have to make a special mention of Kimberly, who not only knows me by name, but also understand why I am at the hotel. I have confided in her on a personal level, and on a business level, and she has been supportive, and a great stranger to lean on… A stranger that feels strangely more like a friend :-) If I have guests over they walk into a stunning foyer, and make their way through an extremely clean hotel, and end up in cozy suit like a cute one bedroom apartment. This place is always worth choosing, especially if you get the deals I get! Thank you Château Victoria for being so awesome and making me feel so at home! ~ Chantelle Line.

Wonderful location, close to all the tourist attractions.

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau Victoria for 11 nights from Feb 15-26 2016. We had an absolutely great time. One bedroom suite was wonderful, beds are high firm and duvets are new and comfy. Room cleaned daily. The reservation staff and all other hotel staff were so nice! Nothing was too much for them. We will most definitely be back in the spring. We were on the 9th floor in the corner so we had a quiet room and a great view. We also had a room that had been renovated, so it was nice and modern, very clean and comfy. Walking distance to everything! Lots of restaurants in the near radius and sights to see! Can't say enuf good stuff about the chateau Vic! The only bad thing was my fault… I forgot my new expensive ice pack in the hotels freezer somewhere (they took it to freeze it for me and delivered it to our room when I needed it). And midway home remembered. Ugh so bad. anyway they now have a new ice pak for the hotel if they need! : ( As I said before. Everything was perfect. Pool and workout room great and yes we will be back in the spring for two more weeks! * we ate at Clive's bar in the hotel and had a lovely light dinner. Never ate at Vista 18, as it was a bit too pricey seeing we were there for quite a Stretch. Maybe next time.

The restaurant is beautiful with lots of wine (Not sayaing that I drink) and the view from there is spectacular. There breakfast is doesn't cost much I'm not saying that it's bad its great.

We stayed here 6-6-15 thru 6-8-15. The hotel is attractive and clean. The rooms were comfortable, especially the beds. The location was convenient for shopping, sightseeing, and restauranting. What really makes this place special though, is the professional and friendly people who work at this place. They can't do enough for you! Their courtesy van took us to laundromats and restaurants. I have never had such wonderful personalized service anywhere at any price. Our stay here made our trip to Victoria the best part of our vacation.

I will never come back here again, I had a horrible experience. I asked for a king room and they gave e a room with two queen sizes beds they did not have balconies on the rooms like it says, the bathrooms and very small and the staff was very rude. It happened on Valentines Day so we couldn't stay anywhere else so we ended up coming home and WE had to PAY for that NIGHT! I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Need to wow a date? Take her to the roof top lounge at the Chateau Victoria. Hands down it is the best view of the city, especially at night. Warm and welcoming staff with a really sexy dessert menu. Open till midnight 7 days a week. I suggest coming by around 11pm and grabbing a blueberry tea. Your date will be properly wooed.

Good: Very comfortable modern room with top quality Euro mattress. Quiet hotel, quiet street. Fair prices for breakfast and lunch in Vista 18 restaurant with great views of city and harbour. Shower works great. Solid Wifi. Close to harbour, convention center and restaurants. Bad: Hotel parking can fill up especially on weekends. Hotel hallways are dated. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.

Attractive, smart and comfortable hotel. Bedrooms were spotlessly clean and roomy. Staff were courteous and very helpful indeed. Drivers couldn't have done more,. Overall a most excellent place to say and I will be happy to recommend it to anyone I know who is planning to visit Victoria.
