Just arrived fantastic location and beautiful hotel.

Pleasant, friendly & helpful staff. Great restaurant on site 'El Passo' where the staff are also very friendly.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the New Northumbria principally to see Les Mis @ Theatre Royal.

Location of hotel is great and most of the staff have been helpful. Room was quite basic and small but great deal on groupon. Issues we faced were — Fire alarms going off non stop without any reason of what’s going on — jumping out the shower and down the hall to be told be someone it’s just a “test” would be helpful to know this beforehand All week we have been on the first floor with constant banging and drilling from early hours — today at 0850 — nothing on the website ab…out building site at all. At first we let it slide thinking it was the pub next door so nothing the hotel could do — luckily it also didn’t start work on these days until gone around 10am anyway. Today however our last night we’ve had 0 sleep, bitten by bed bugs over the week, next doors vibrate alarm continuously went off from 0500-0630 paper thing walls. When calling the front desk to see why building work is going on at 0850 — the day we drive back 8 hours we were told it’s under the hotel and “most people are out for the day” which to be honest was irritating as from a customer point of view we don’t want to be told when we need to leave the hotel or have a lie in We then got told why didn’t we speak up earlier — which I said was a valid point however the building work didn’t start til later in the day and hadn’t interrupted our sleep.

Lovely, clean room; not big but more than adequate. Service is great.

Lovely hotel located in a beautiful part of Newcastle. This hotel is quite lively at wkends due to 3 bars situated at front of the hotel but it is still sophisticated enough. Our stay was made special by Andrea (front of house lady) who went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Would highly recommend. Only slight problem we experienced was car parking spaces — there's not enough.

I didn't actually stay in the hotel but I did book 2 nights through the Agoda site. I contacted the hotel via FB but received no reply to cancel booking. I then emailed the hotel and was told that I had already paid for the booking although Agoda and bank said that I hadn't. In the email from you, I was informed that you wouldn't give me a refund (conflicting info) on payment.
So please, be careful in the future when booking and even if I had paid, I think it's rather cheeky/unfair of you to keep someone's payment when they cancel at least 10 days before a booking.

Stayed here weekend past for hen party and have to say hotel was lovely, clean and staff were more than helpful. Also breakfast was fantastic. Thank you for making us welcome.

Website said free breakfast, hotel honoured it no hassles. Decent size room, and good shampoos coffee tea in room. Good pub and restaurant downstairs. Price was best. Thx.

Great front desk staff… efficient and helpful. Decent size rooms … clean… good bathrooms. I will be back. But I will not be having Breakfast here again… such a shame that the quality of breakfast was below average… that the hope of sending food back so the order would come back correct proved futile. You could hear the chef in the dining room when the food went back into the kitchen. Such a shame for this hotel. The 2 waitress were such a contrast while one was courteous and efficient… the other just the opposite verging on rude… she was definitely disinterested, curt and verging on rude. It just drew chuckles, nods and smiles from all the guests seated as we exchanged our disdain at her behaviour. Before I left the kinder waitress offered to refund my Breakfast payment … but I refused … as I have my own business and I think the owners should be aware of what's going on their kitchen and diner. My nephew who shared my room decided to skip breakfast here although we had paid for it. I had a wonderful time at Osborne's next door the night before … the staff were excellent… especially the waitress at the hot food section. Perhaps what I am trying to say about the Breakfast service which cost me £20 is … should do better.

Mad collection of things going on here aside from the great rooms. Nice Italian at one end good little pub grub affair in the middle and busy pub at the other end, and all part of the hotel.

This has been an ideal experience for us. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff is absolutely remarkable. I am travelling with an infant and they have done everything in their capacity to make my stay comfortable. The staff is kind, respectful, considerate and very warm. The hotel is an a great area, lots of restaurants nearby and everything is at a walking distance. The rooms are clean and spacious and the bed is very comfortable. My husband and I had very nice stay here and will absolutely be returning.

Nice hotel, staff excellent. Breakfast menu very good and sensibly priced. Worth booking superior room for the small difference on price. Parking free but very limited — maybe 10 spaces, tight for large car! Walk through to restaurant and adjoining bad a big plus in poor weather Outdoor area would be great in summer.

I stayed here on the 18th january. 18 for business. very pleased with the accommodation. nice people lovely hotel. nice room comfy bed good food and great choice of bars and food was good. nice atmosphere and well laid out. i would stay here again business or pleasure. well done northumbria hotel. ;)

The staff were very helpful and professional and the hotel itself is very clean and tidy.

Very nice, stayed in one of the Suite's, very spacious and modern, cleanliness was good however tops of mirrors and both the fan in the bedroom and the extractor fan in the bathroom could do with attention as we found dust and a lot of fluff present, other than that a very pleasant stay, lovely staff, great atmosphere in the Osbornes bar, food at Scalini's was fantastic and well located for local ammenities.

Comfortable and clean rooms, relatively close to the city centre, very nice breakfast.

Just travelling home with a hen party of 12 altogether. I can't thank all of the hotel staff particularly Laura-Ann on reception. She decorated the brides room, made sure everyone was happy, we didn't want for anything. The bar downstairs 'Osbornes' was so lively, decent music and generally a very good laugh. Food was good too, especially a decent breakfast in the morning! Can't recommend it enough and will be back very soon!

Nice comfortable double room equipped with tea/coffee making/TV and ironing. Bathroom was nice but bath was a bit small. Restaurant and bar attached with loud music but went off by about 11pm. Good breakfast — plenty of choice. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Shower was cold but the room was pleasant, staff were helpful and location was accessible.

Cannot recommend this place enough! Me and my family stayed here the night before my wedding and me and my new HUBBY for our wedding night. From the moment we arrived we recieved fantastic service from everyone we came into contact with!
We ate in scilinis and the service there was outstanding … There were a lot of us and we were accommodated without a problem, our waiter was very attentive and service was quick.
When me and my hubby arrived back our room was beautiful … Romantic and thoughtful.
Again cannot recommend this place enough, thank you to all the staff!

Standard rooms are basic but very clean & the hotel and staff are amongst the best I've stayed at!

Arrived today so far excellent.

The room (202), with free wi fi, free parking, the lovely breakfast, the overall price, and the staff. Especially the lady on reception who was excellent. I would definitely book there again many thanks.

Quite nice rooms but really noisy. I'm here right now 'I'm sexy and I know it' is blasting from one of the nearby bars through the walls and floor. I can hear some basic bitches squealing as they down jaegerbombs. It's a school night and I have to be up at the crack of dawn. Kill me.

Lovely hotel, really friendly and welcoming staff. Great rooms and good location — lots of bars to choose from in Jesmond. I visit Newcastle for work and will be staying there every time.
