The staff is wonderful! It’s our anniversary and they upgraded our basic king room to a suite. Rooms were clean and spacious!

Always a great place to stay with good service and clean rooms.

Bed bugs in room 208. I was told "well it happens"

The rooms are spacious and very clean and the staff is very friendly and professional. I particularly want to thank Anthony, front desk. He was extremely nice. The hotel offers shuttle service and the driver was very nice to take us back and forth wherever we needed to go, so we didn't have to worry about parking. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are quiet with good HVAC systems that can be operated with no clunking on and off of the compressors. The fan can be set to run at all times. The building seems well constructed so little noise gets in. The staff is great, and rooms/suites are spacious, comfortable, and immaculate. Hotel location is outstanding. Convenient to major highways and downtown Charleston. Excellent public spaces especially the outside fire pit area.

Great location and wonderful staff (especially Miss Bobbi at the front desk). Rooms are always clean and staff extremely helpful. The kitchen team is quick to take care of you and so thoughtful and kind. Free local shuttle is an excellent and appreciated extra amenity. Great hotel for work.

Room was very nice ask for Elk River view. Only problem was no complementary coffee or breakfast. But enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely delightful staff. Charming to the little children, and kindly accommodating of my request to bring a bicycle to our room for safe keeping. Very satisfactory premises.

After several hours of driving to get to this hotel and arriving almost 2 in the morning we were met with a locked front door and someone at the front desk that seemed upset that we were there. The bed was nice but I'm not sure if that makes up for the lack of hospitality.

It was a room with a view of the river and courtyard. It was very quiet. We just noticed that our bathroom shower seemed a little dirty and counter. It was quick and easy check-in.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and easy to get to from the Interstate! The person working the front desk even gave us a free rice crispie treat for my daughter on the way out in the morning for our travels. Also a bonus to have Starbucks attached to the parking lot! Would definitely recommend!

Great scenic and quiet location. Newly build has all the New Courtyard features. Very nice and contemporary with an unusually large parking lot. Next to a Starbucks too.

There’s only a few hotels in the area, so I decided to stay at the newest. The is a Mom and Pop Hotel that carries the Marriott name. The Hotel doesn’t offer complimentary water, the front desk isn’t proactive, and housekeeping is lazy and doesn’t clean well.

Nice normal courtyard hotel. Free parking. Wifi worked well. Friendly front desk staff. Starbucks is located next door.

Rooms were very nice, but room service could be more attentive. I made a request for extra pillows, and they said they would call me back. After an hour of no response, I got it all fixed up. The cleaning staff was excellent for fetching extra towels and shampoo.

Love this courtyard, so much to do in this area. Hotel is very comfortable and outdoor seating is inviting and relaxing. Staff very friendly and clean rooms.

Very nice courtyard with all updates available. Clean with friendly staff and ample beer/snack choices. Bathroom is great, water pressure good, beds comfortable. Good location to walk downtown.

Customer service is top notch here. Location is great and convenient to downtown. From the second I walked in they treated me like a frequent guest. From giving me tips about the best way to get around town to making sure my room was comfortable, they were concerned about every detail. If I'm honest, the bar left a bit to be desired, but that probably just means I shouldn't spend as much time there. Next trip to Charleston, WV, I'll put the Marriott at the top of my places to stay.

If I could give this motel a 0 rating I would. I travel and regularly stay at Marriott. I am a Gold Status member. My adopted son who is 26 years old was traveling and I told him to stay at this Courtyard by Marriott. When he arrived the clerk on duty refused to give him a room stating that he was “too young”. He had just stayed at another Marriott while attending a concert in Chicago two weeks prior with no problem. He provided the clerk with his drivers license identification to prove his age but she still refused to rent him a room although there were rooms available. My wife and I are Caucasian and our adopted son is of Hispanic heritage. We feel that this clerk was discriminating against our son. He had available identification and is a very nice, well groomed, respectful individual. I am extremely upset and my son was very embarrassed.

Nice hotel in downtown Charleston WV. Shares parking lot with Starbucks and Shoneys. Room was clean, well furnished and well maintained. Bathroom had plenty of light, clean towels and water pressure and temperature were good. Only complaints are lack of breakfast and limited dining options within walking distance.

We stayed there only because we wanted an indoor pool for our 4 year old granddaughter. There must have been 20 kids in the pool. A lady told us it was a birthday party & they’d be finished in about an hour!?! No way they were all hotel guests. When we returned, the water was SO dirty with a slimy substance floating on it! The (very nice) front desk lady closed the pool & it did not reopen til the next day. Our room was not very clean either!

Conveniently located next to the Civic Center, Shoneys and Starbucks. A win-win for our group of six. The rooms were nice, clean & comfy during our 3 nights stay for the hunt show weekend. There was plenty of free parking available there too. The bathroom was wonderful and the room was spacious. Every part of the hotel was clean and quiet during our stay. You can enjoy a fire pit and gym. There's a coffee bar in the lobby and a Tesla electric vehicle charging outside for you greenies. Overall our stay was nice. I always felt safe no matter the time, day or night. Will definitely be back there for next year!

Much, much nicer than the Marriott Town Center. Better interior, better rooms, and nicer front desk staff. Something else that is interesting. At the Marriott Town Center up the street, the TV sets are smaller and only have 5-6 HD channels. The Courtyard TVs are bigger with all HD channels. If you need covered parking and conference space, then stay at the Marriott Town Center. Otherwise, for comfort and ambiance, stay at the Courtyard.

Had to stay here when our water pipes froze. Very nice staff, very convenient location. A newer property so all in order. Walking distance to much and in fact, most of downtown Charleston. Easy off and on Interstates.

Great experience! This hotel was great for the night. The staff was super super friendly and warm, the rooms were huge and updated, and they had a free shuttle to go downtown. Highly recommend!

Easy to find and nicely updated right on the River. Using the app to check in saves very little time but it may catch on. The key failed so I had to go back to the front desk. Friendly staff and very clean with a Starbucks across the parking lot.

Room was clean and good sized with a couch. It was great to sit on the couch after a day's work. The bed was comfy too.

Outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and courteous. Our check in hostess Elaine was wonderful. Clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms. The bed was great, one of the best nights sleep I've had in months. You can go cheaper, but not better. Excellent choice.

This hotel is very nice and exceptionally clean. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. There is a nice bistro pub area in the lobby which is perfect for grabbing breakfast, dinner and/or drinks. A great place to stay while in Charleston.

I'm not sure when this was renovated, but we loved the interior look and feel of this hotel. The staff was very friendly and made the stay trouble free. For those sorry a Tesla, there are a few charging stations on site, and for the coffee drinker, there is a brand new Starbucks across the parking lot!

In a lot of ways, the Marriott Courtyard is just another decent hotel, but thanks to Elaine, Jennifer and Travis, the place really felt like home. We had a great stay and these three did everything they could to make me and my family feel welcome. Thanks, guys.

Very nice location. The lobby was very spacious and they had a nice restaurant inside.

I had a nice view of the Elk River from my room. My arrival was late afternoon night so I can't really rate most of the facilities. Everything seemed well kept and clean. The room was good and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the HVAC, the motion sensitive thermostat allowed the humidity in the room to be a little high and give the room a damp feeling. I understand the idea of being energy efficient but the system needs to keep the room dryer.

We had an excellent stay here. We booked a room with a king size bed and pull out sofa for our family of four. The room was clean and spacious. They had an amazing courtyard area with a fire pit and plenty of room for our kids to run around a bit after a long day of driving. The only negative was their postage stamp sized pool. If passing through here again we'd definitely be repeat guests.

I've stayed at this hotel several times. It's a nice place. The staff had always been very nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean as well. The hotel is also incredibly easy to get to from the interstate.

Room was clean. Checked in late at night. Staff was courteous. They had run out of pillows.

Make sure you don't leave anything in the back of your vehicle or it will be stolen! Security camera coverage for parking lot is almost nonexistent, so even though we parked close to the hotel, you couldn't see anything on the footage. Found out from officer that two other items were stolen the same night at the Holiday Inn across the street. Besides that, the hotel was ok. Everything was clean and updated. Requested room on high level and got the second floor though, so wasn't happy about that. We were even less happy though when we found out the next morning the straps were cut and the bike was stolen from the back of our truck…

Our GPS took us to the wrong address, but once we continued in Kanawha Blvd — we found the hotel. Our room was immaculate. The amenities were very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. We did not eat in the Bistro.

Booked this hotel using reward points, not even paying attention when booking. Once we arrived I realized I messed up, and instead needed the Town Center Marriott. With 2 little ones this made life much simpler. I went inside knowing there was nothing that could be done without having to lose all those points, but explained anyways with my fingers crossed. The lady was very understanding and immediately cancelled the reservation for me, and even called the other Marriott to make sure they had a room available. She refunded my points but I had to call IHG to explain my issue and that I needed the points put back right away. Within 10 minutes I had everything squared away! Great customer service!

Attended a professional event in one of the conference rooms. Facility is very well equiped and maintained. Lunch was provided as well by the hotel, and it was excellent. I would highly recommend hosting your conference here.

Accommodation was great. Very nice place where to stay if you are traveling through Charleston on your business trip. Very exciting was chance to sit out of building close to fire so cold night wasn't so big problem to have a nice view on stars on sky.

Great room for a great rate, shower was lovely and the view was beautiful. The walls were a tad thin as I could hear the neighbors talking but was easily drowned out from the fan. I would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area!

The food was regular. I don't do anything. The waiter was wonderful.

Really nice, seems recently updated. I had a room on the 3rd floor that overlooked the rover and back of the hotel. Good spot for dining options as well.

This is a better than typical Marriott Courtyard Hotel. It is very nicely decorated; the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional; the rooms very comfortable and up-to-date. I was impressed by the fact that, even though the hotel is located in downtown Charleston with major highways around it, the rooms are very quiet. I highly recommend this hotel if you need to stay someplace convenient in downtown Charleston, WV.

Bad I drove 8 hrs to come visit family and was told my room was $403.00 for the time I was here and I don't have much money but when I checked in they swiped my debt card and charged $470.00 to my card and when I asked about it they said since I used a debit card. There was a 15% fee that no one told me about before I swiped my card so I asked if I switched it to my credit card would there be a fee and the guy said no and that the $470.00 would be refunded to me by the next morning well its the next morning and the 470 still hasn't went back in to my bank and they are saying it will take 7-10 days for the money to be refunded to me so now I have no money the weekend is ruined and I have to find $403.00 to pay for my room because of there mistake worst hotel I ever stayed in due to the staff.

Room was comfortable. Tv remote ran out of batteries and o had to wait half an hour while hotel services troubleshot it and then had to run and get a new remote. The room was also quite noisy from either nearby showers or something.

The location was beautiful. I was only there during the dark, so I couldn't see out very well, but from what I could tell, the waterfront was gorgeous. Out back was a fire pit running and it felt like a fancy place. The rooms were clean and spacious. The gym was decent and the pool looked fun! Didnt swim because of a late arrival, but would have otherwise. Service was mostly friendly, with a little sass from the service attendant. 5 stars for Charleston Courtyard Marriott!

This is a fairly new Courtyard. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are really nice with a walk-in shower. The staff is friendly and it is located in downtown Charleston.

They have a bistro but no room service. They are all very nice and accommodating though.

I traveled all around United States. I've stayed in so many Marriott hotel groups. I have a really good relationship with some of Marriott hotel groups employees. That's why I always got a special discount. When I checked in at this hotel, it was great. The front desk lady who checked me in is really grateful. And we went to eat dinner at The Bistro, the people is also fantastic. But when I'm checking out, the front desk lady is not nice. She's rude. I told her I have another reservation already for 1 more night but I don't know if I'm gonna do it. So I asked her to give me 15 minutes for me to decide. Her response is 'No, you have to get out now or I will charge you for 1 full night price. ' So, I decided to just C/O and cancel my reservation. I won't be mad at her if she talks nicer. In a proper way, at least you say like ' Sorry Mrs. Blabla, I wish I could help more but that's the latest c/o time I could give u. ' Or something like that. I think the front desk person is kind of pick on which customer deserve a respect and which one is not or they just need more training. As a hospitality person who has been trained, specially when you work at Marriott Hotel groups, you should give all customer the same respect no matter how poor, rich, how cheap is the room price or expensive they got.
