Very friendly. The rooms where clean and very comfortable. They had a nice pool, it was kinda small but heated so it was nice for toddler. We will be staying here from now on when we visit Marshalltown.

We had a daughter graduating from Iowa State University and the hotels in Ames jacked their prices up to ridiculous rates so we looked outside of the city. After looking through reviews we found the Comfort Inn in Marshalltown. While it was a forty minute drive from Ames it saved us over a hundred dollars a night. Better yet our stay was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and good size. The free breakfast was also good. The buffet included the standard continental food items but eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles made it better than average.

Where we stay when visiting Marshalltown, IA. Not great but good enough and they have good breakfast spreads.

Comfy cozy and affordable. We needed a last minute room and it was late and they were very helpful and friendly. The stay was nice and we slept great while we were there. The room was clean and did not have any weird smells which was nice. I can't remember if they had complimentary breakfast though.

The Marshalltown Comfort Inn definitely met or exceeded my expectations. I stayed there as I was in town for a business trip. The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. The bed was comfortable and I got great sleep. The complimentary breakfast was good, but not great, which is to be expected. Biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs and waffles along with fruit, bagels and toast were available for breakfast. The eggs weren't great, but typical for a complementary breakfast. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

I've stayed at this location for years and was impressed with the recent changes that have been made.

My sister and I were arriving to an event that was about 30 miles away. After a long day of driving, we called the hotel to see if we could check in early as we were ahead of schedule (Hot Rod Power Tour), staff was nice enough to let us check in before it was time. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good! Only drawbacks was the detours from construction.

We came into town Saturday night and told the front desk that we would need to leave the following week on Saturday morning. She marked us down for the wrong number of nights and we received the bill today. We went down to the front to tell them that there was a mistake. The front desk stated that there is nothing they could do and that all the rooms are booked. We are being forced to leave now and have to find another room on Saint patty's day weekend. Also, the key stopped working in the middle of the stay. We went down to the front desk 5 separate times before they would even come look at it. I would not recommend anyone to stay here if you are after quality customer service.

The most friendly staff, great rooms, awesome breakfast included, and best of all, VERY dog friendly, with a large mowed field to walk the dogs! Rooms are clean, a good size with comfortable beds and good decor with fridge, large flat screen, microwave, nice leather office chair at the desk, overstuffed recliner, and room for my two large dogs two very large kennels with still more than enough room for us to walk, and play with the dogs in the room. 5 stars! I would recommend them to any and all dog owners, or even pet free travelers!

The hotel room was clean and the staff was nice. They were doing work on the elevator but that didn't interfere at all with my stay. The continental breakfast had anything you need.

Not a good place to have a business meeting. They have a computer and printer in the lobby but the printer doesn't work and it has been out for a long time since we stayed there before.

My wife and I are semi-annual RAGBRAI participants, including 2012. Last January, my wife called the Comfort Inn when the route was announced and attempted to make reservations for five rooms. After giving the front desk clerk her credit card number, the woman said that all of the rooms were booked. Although disappointed, we found other lodging arrangements for the evening. Lo and behold, a week after we returned home, five hotel rooms at over $100 a pop, were charged to my wife's credit card. We contacted the hotel and were referred to the GM, Brian Trieschmann, who lied and said we always had reservations, he tried to contact us several times, and since he had a credit card number, charged the rooms we never stayed in. He has been nothing but rude, discourteous, and disrespectful during the entire process of trying to get a refund. I finally had to register a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as the State Attorney General, still nothing. My wife and I love RAGBRAI, Iowa, and all of the people we have met during our three rides; Brian Trieschmann and the Comfort Inn's theft of our money is the one exception. Please do not patronize this hotel and reward this type of behavior.

My family and I stayed here during our son's track meet and found the hotel and staff very pleasing. I was a bit worried after reading the past reviews, but this was our only choice for or last minute trip, so we took a chance. I must say we were very pleased that things have evidently changed for the better. Our room was very clean and the hotel had no such bad odors as were reported earlier. The breakfast was good even though the dining room is small. We grabbed our waffles, fruit, coffee and juice and headed back to our room. Our experience was good.
