Terrible customer service. Judged us by our looks and determined by looking at us that we were dirt under the rug. Didnt tell us the phone in the room wasnt working and neither was the I tenet. Was expecting an important call on that phone. Will never ever go back and I'm putting it all on my fb page.

This hotel has a great staff. Due to weather ended up spending most day in their lobby. They showed nothing but kindness and concern for me. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone passing through.

I'm staying in this motel while working. My room was booked for approximately 1 month, however they have switched my room 5 times and am looking at 3 to 4 more room changes due to front desk confusion. I work nights and the front desk has the attitude as thought I'm inconveniencing them by needing a key for that days room. Every room they have put me in, the bathroom smells of urine. Other than being moved rooms and losing my time to sleep before I go back to work every night and the bad bathroom smell, it's great!

Very nice place to stay but their breakfast left a lot to be desired. They gave us a coupon for breakfast for 2 when we checked in, leaving us with the impression that you can't just enjoy a continental breakfast free everyday. The staff was very friendly, rooms were very clean & the beds were comfortable. The laundry service on site left a lot to be desired. 2 washers & one was broken & 1 dryer. Didn't look clean & were being used continuously by several men that were staying there for work.

I have to admit that I am very frustrated the moment after I checked in. Check-in went smoothly. I stepped outside to bring in some heavy suitcases full of equipment that I need for a convention this week. I asked where the elevator was… and all 3 girls at the counter smiled and chuckled, telling me that there is no elevator. Seriously? And then they think it's funny! How can a hotel, several stories high, not have an elevator? Do they think that people who travel only have "carry on" luggage? So, I struggled and got my first suitcase up the stairs… and opened my room door. It was completely dark inside and I couldn't see in front of my face. I felt up and down the walls searching for a light switch and found one on the right side. Since the room was SOOO dark, I couldn't see past the bathroom. I searched to find another switch on the wall, but was unable. I could see some light barely coming from the edges of the drapes in the back of the room (at least it will be dark for sleeping! ) and as I walked to the back of the room to open the shades to let some light in… and… BAM! I walked right into, and tripped, over a coffee table that was placed directly in the middle of the room. After getting the drapes open, I had enough light to see that there were no more light switches. The lamps were all in the dark corners and couldn't be seen until the window drapes had been opened.

This is one amazing Hotel. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. It was like I was amongst friends. The management staff goes above and beyond the call of duty. I was well taken care of. I will be back for more.

Stayed here during the ISJS Grand Finale weekend. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and restaurant/breakfast buffet areas were very nice (Restaurant prices are CHEAP too! )

The staff is very nice and it’s an overall decent hotel. It’s fairly clean, the air conditioners work, and it isn’t too noisy over the night. A lot of construction workers stay here, and there weren’t many kids when I was passing through. They have an indoor pool and a gym, but the gym was broken — lots of the equipment was in the midst of being repaired — when I was here. There is a park about 10 minutes away you can bike or run at. The breakfast buffet is decent, but I waited for the coffee to be replenished (and I’m one of those people who NEEDS her coffee). There are several dining options within a short driving distance from the hotel. It’s a pretty small, quaint town, so nothing ridiculously fancy, but I do suggest venturing off and NOT eating at the restaurant attached to the hotel, O’Hungry’s.

The BW's lobby was newly decorated and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were friendly.

Went a whole week without replacement towels, bed sheets changed, and other people's hair everywhere. Housekeeping needs to sho a better job and pay attention to details. OJ and water water containers doesn't look lie it's been cleaned since I've been here. Just have to be careful.

The price was reasonable but the room had issues. The ceiling had cracks and peeling paint. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the bedding was so itchy I had to sleep on top of the covers. The restaurant in the lobby had good food but was understaffed. The poor woman working had to do everything by herself and they were very busy that night. The continental breakfast was awful. My son accidentally left his somewhat expensive phone charger in the room. I had to call three times before they agreed to look for it. We live over 250 miles away, so I asked if they would send it to me if I paid for the shipping. I guess that was too much to ask for, I never heard from them again. This was the worst Best Western I've ever stayed at.

Very nice staff. Rooms were clean. Plenty of place to choose from nearby to eat. Easy location to get too.

We had snow all day and they never bothered clearing walk ways. Or the sidewalks to any entrance. Ice everywhere the next morning. No salt no anything. So the long black hair in my eggs at the breakfast buffet should have came as no surprise. But it was a good price. Just saying…

The room was nice but we checked in at 3pm as per website instructions and the room we were assigned was not cleaned from the previous users. We had to wait with our suitcases in the hallway foe 30 minutes before the room was done. The toilet did not flush properly and the shower spray was weak. So not impressed.

Got the hot tub room. The front desk was pleasant. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet that night. It was a good experience.

Service at the hotel was excellent. Breakfast was good. Vivian at the front desk went out of her way to give us a discount on a 2nd night. Their restaurant staff leaves something to be desired, however.

Love the jacuzzi tub. The manager Bill is amazing. Would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone. There is a pool. Option for a jucuzzi in room. Restaurant attached to building with great service. Bartenders are very good and food is great for the price.

A very nice hotel breakfast was good just make sure you have your ticket or the sever will ask to go get one. The rooms where really nice and spacious.

Visited O’Hungry’s with the grandkids. Good food at a great price. Good service. Had a great time.

Ordered house tenderloin dinner, waiter tried to dictate my side order, when it started you had a choice of 3, when I called him on it he copped a Major attitude and I cancelled my order. Service has steadily gone down hill. Don't plan on returning anytime soon.

Was considering this hotel for a family get together because it said on the web site they were pet friendly. We called and were told they do not accept animals no matter what. Tried to talk to a manager and never got that far. You should not post that you're pet friendly if you're not.

We stay here every couple years or so for a family Christmas. We rent a conference room as well as a block of rooms. The pool is pretty big and towels are provided. There are several large conference rooms. Staff are very friendly. The breakfast is just ok. There's a restaurant attached, but we've never eaten there (even though you get a couple complementary drink tickets). The beds aren't very comfortable. Our room was near an exit that people were propping open and smoking at, so the hallway near our room smelled of smoke.

The room was recently remodeled. Nice comfortable bed, new television. And microwave and refridg. will be staying there again in the near future.

Fairly quiet. Decent king king-sized bed as far as comfort is concerned. A little dated. Cavernous. Spartan by today's standards. The nightly rate is high for the amenities but that's what keeps it "fairly quiet", so it's a trade-off I guess. Close to fast food and restaurants and shopping centers. Edit-3rd nt. Here, Fri. Total chaos. Noise, parties, adolescents running up and down the hall.

Was the worst experience ever in my hotel history. Put on the don't disturb sign was bothered 3 times in a row by house keepin. Never will I stay at any Best Western or Affiliates to them. I have moved both of my 2 500 people events a different venue.

The rooms are nice, they came with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The access the room is a little bit limited in that there is one small staircase in the back to get upstairs. The breakfast was decent with eggs, oatmeal, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and more.

Service at the table wasn't great. Waitress didn't check on us. They're was no flavor to the taco meat on the taco salad. I had to ask for salsa even after they asked if I wanted salsa. I was given a tiny amount of dressing for a huge salad. The staff was nice just seemed a bit overwhelmed. Prices are great for the amount of food. My friends enjoyed their food. Just a few improvements could make things great. I'll still return since you can't beat the price of a full meal comparable to Perkins. Half the price!

This is my second stay here, and it has been a really pleasant, highly satisfying one, as was the first time. All staff from front desk to lounge staff to breakfast staff to housekeeper to maintenance were all just super. I was given the same room which I had had before without my asking for it, which I really like. I love the proximity to the door, the privacy of it, and it's layout! This hotel IS TOP-RATE and I will stay here whenever I am in Marshalltown again!

Clean. Front desk is not informative. No elevator. No hot tub. Mirror in room fell off the wall while we were there. Funny smell in the hallways. Internet was not working right and when I called down to the front desk for help, they just gave me a 888# for tech support to trouble shoot myself. What a joke… On the last day, there were roach's in the bathroom. When I explained everything about my stay I just listed when I was checking out, the girl at the front desk couldn't have cared less.

The room was clean and well maintained. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that the shower head was coming off the pipe; I had to tighten it back on; and the pipe was easily moved back & forth in the wall. It was not secured.

We always have a nice stay here. Rooms are always clean. However the front desk lady last night was snippy and rude.

This very nice and quiet place excellent service great for lounging.

Excellent overall — helpful staff and amenities — and we loved the free drink coupon! Restaurant offers great value meals, too!

Went to a wedding here. Staff was accomodating and helpful. Wedding was great.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The pool area was also keept clean and the lobby offered lemon water and a nice seating area.

My stay at the Marshalltown Best Western was OK it's clean and the restaurant is affordable with decent food.

I stayed at the Best Western for 20 days with my boyfriend. When we first arrived it was very late and the people at the front desk were nice and told us how to get to our room which is always good when you are sleep deprived. We got to our room to realize our room view was a view to the pool not out side which I didn't realize would be a problem till we kept sleeping in till 11 am every day because no light came in through the window to tell us it was morning. The alarm in our room kept making a static sound and it wasn’t a soft sound it was loud so I unplugged it. The next couple of days went past and we had decided to go to the pool since that's all we could see out the window and that was a mistake. The pool was disgusting. It was very cloudy and the sides of the pool were slimy. I saw a young girl about 12 or so helping out with cleaning the rooms. I know she is not a cleaning lady since you have to be a certain age to have a job and she was definitely not old enough. Also one of the cleaning ladies was kinda snooty. Since we were there for so long we didn’t see a need to have our room cleaned every day and one day they knocked on the door and asked if we wanted to have out room cleaned and we said no and one of them said “see I told you so. ” in a cocky way towards the other cleaning lady then they walked away. I was kinds shocked.

Older building. The keys for the doors suck. Plan on going to the front desk at least daily to get it to work on your door, it will work about 1/10 times on the out side of the building. Everyone you see leaving stuffs rocks in it to get back in. Good restaurant cheap food.

We came here after three horrible experiences at two star hotels which were staffed by black gang members in the Harlem area of Iowa (Iowa City, Coralville, and Cedar Rapids). This hotel has three stars and is in a small town with mostly white and Hispanic people. We thought we'd be safe since we were paying $30 more per night. Holly told us we had our room for a week and promptly gave it to someone else within 3 days. It wasn't a great room but we were exhausted. There are no blankets on the beds. The air conditioner is not variable, only on and off. All the cable channels were Hispanic. And the housekeeping staff walk down the halls at 6 am shouting at each other to wake the guests so they will check out on time. I might've thought this was accidental but it happened every single day. This is a huge hotel, but they only have a small portion of rooms that are available to reserve because the rest are being remodeled. So don't let the size of the hotel deceive you. You'll be booted from your room the moment someone is willing to pay $170 per night. There is a restaurant inside the hotel called O'Hungry's. We got sick from the first meal there. Sick from the second meal there. And ended up with food poisoning the third time, although we ate completely different items each time. Don't eat here unless you want a trip to the emergency room. I have no idea why we came to Iowa but I cant wait to leave.
