Love it here. Great prices even after making tons of renovations. Looks like more still to come. Staff is cool and friendly. Front Desk Clerk Breanna is a riot and definitely brings certain elements that makes guests feel warmed, loved and welcomed!

Awesome hotel! We checked in Super early and to our surprise, the room was ready for us to check in. The king corner room was real nice and cozy. Wasn't spotless. Saw a few hairs and had a few dirty towels but other than that, everything was great. We really enjoyed our view on the 10th floor of the pool. The bed and pillows we're comfortable. The front desk staff was real nice and friendly. I was obsessed with the free cookie and they gave me a few more because I loved them so much. Will definitely recommend and stay here again. Great location. Close to the Navy Pier and shopping on Michigan ave.

The hotel is very easy to find — just on the corner of Ohio and Fairbanks. There is some construction at the front of the hotel, but it did not impede us from getting into the lobby. The staff was great. Room was nice and cool upon entering. Very clean, very nice.

There was a lot of construction and my room was in need of a refresher. The TV was in and out of signal. The walls are thin and overall wasn't the best Hilton hotel in the area. I won't be there again until remodeled as wasn't worth it for me. On the other hand, good location with lots of tourist stuff near the hotel. The staff could be a little more welcoming but we're not rude.

The hall is in the refection. The pool is closed the gym not in the hotel… But good c is clean and well maintained and the staff friendly.

This is a more affordable hotel with pretty nice accommodations in a very, very convenient part of the city. You’re right beside Northwest and down the street from the pier. The architectural foundation’s new meet up point is also less than half a mile from here. You’re not particularly close to Millennium Park, but you’re right by the Magnificent Mile. It’s also not difficult to go to the Walgreens around the corner and get a metro card, and there’s a metro station along the Magnificent Mile not overly far away. A bus takes you there faster. I enjoyed my stay. Only complaint is that the room they initially gave me wasn’t ready at 3, so I took one on a lower floor.

In the Priceline up and down the single, only 70 knives a night, very cost-effective, clean and hygienic, strategic location!

This hotel has so much potential. Right in the middle of the city with good connection to most places you’d want to go. Tall building with various rooms looking out on Chicago. With amazing views. Being a Gold Hilton member I booked a room on the 26th floor which looked out onto the city. Loved the room view, but where we were let down was with the decor and keep of the hotel. Like I said good potential but in desperate need of renovation. A shame but was not able to use the pool of fitness center as it was under renovation — good to hear that they are spending some money though. A bit of a dark and dim hotel with need for updating. Breakfast was good, nothing special, but with free with gold card. So happy. Reception staff were friendly, nice to get a cookie too. Guest “helper” Rafael was amazing and saved the stay, a friendly and kind face! Management, give him a pay rise!

Rooms are spacious. Everything clean. Everyone has been very helpful and accommodating. The cookies at the front desk are delicious. Add in the price and overall a great deal.

Perhaps the warmest welcome I've received while checking into a hotel. Didn't get woken up by any knocks from house keeping because they did all their work closer to noon. The location is right on Ohio avenue, within walking distance of several popular b destinations. Plus, the Streeter Garage is only a block away, with the cheapest overnight rate in the area.

The room is old and the air con/heater makes so much noise that it need some getting used to. They charged me USD7 for every parcel that gets delivered to them and I have to pick them up at the receptionist myself. The restaurant staffs are really friendly though.

Attentive employees provide outstanding service here. Room service selections aren't fantastic, but they have accommodated my special requests, so don't hesitate to ask. The concierge staff is very knowledgeable and available every time I needed assistance. All in all, the rooms are clean, the location is convenient, and the staff is just great. I stay here every chance I get.

This place has abhorrent service. We paid for our hotel two months in advanced and when we got here they turned us away. Said we could collect our refund and leave. Luckily there are decent human beings in other hotels that made Sure we where not homeless.

Good location for visiting central Chicago. Accommodation is acceptable — don't expect t start though! Really accessible and easy to get to the transport for the city. Michigan Avenue (the Magnificent Mile), Millennium Park, Navy Pier and the Skyscrapers are all walkable from here. The Loop is also accessible from Grand on the Red Line. To get here from O'Hare Airport, take the Blue line from O'Hare to Lake, then take the Red Line to Grand. Then walk along Ohio Street, across Michigan Avenue and the blocks along to DoubleTree.

Very good facilities and the best thing about the hotel is that it is close to everything. Walking without problem and with insurmountable views of the city. Highly recommended.

This was a good solid and clean room. A little dated, but comfortable beds and in a good location. The people were friendly as well. I would come again.

They offered me the Shuttle service in the chat online, and when I got there, surprise! There is no Shuttle service, and I had to pay 130 USD in Ubers. Total scam!

Everyone at the doubletree has been an absolute delight. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice room and wonderful hospitality. Everywhere you walk, the front desk people, house cleaners, and everyone in between could not be more friendly or kind. Thank you for the stay!

Check-in went smoothly. The doorman, Ben, helped me figure out the parking system. The rest of the staff treated us warmly; they w ven gave us fresh cookies at check-in. However, on the negative side, the walls in the room, itself, must be been paper thin because we could hear everyone in the halls, vividly. Also, in the morning, the water coming out of the faucet was a dirty orange color. I called down to the desk to report it and all the woman at the desk would say is "we had an issue last night. It's fixed. The water should be safe to use once you let it run for 5-10 minutes. "

Decent hotel. A bit old but the staff was friendly and competent. The price was nice for being right downtown. And the beds weren't tucked too tightly.

I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting downtown. I found the employee's to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The building is a bit dated, but overall nice. The bars both offered pleasant experiences.

Generally good and better than most hotels, but the building is particularly noisy and the service could be improved. They are welcoming, which is nice, but forget certain details such as providing enough towels. The parking garage is also not great. But overall this hotel is satisfactory.

I just spoke with Chris the General Manager and tried to cancel a reservation the day of my employees stay. I had just found out our client had book a room at the location of the event we were working. I know from past experiences that the GM has the ability to cancel reservation with out any fees or at least reduce, in this case Chris was not willing to do either and I felt very rude. I had to wait a good 20 minutes on hold just to speak with him. I book weekly in the Chicago area but will not be giving money to the Double tree in the future. I know they have only 3 rooms left on Expedia and will be billing me for this room and will still lease it for the night since we will not be checking in. I understand things can happen and would have been more than willing to pay a reduced fee but for a whole night is ridiculous.

Place has def gone downhill. Been coming here for years. As a previous reviewer also stated I also had a backing up sink and slow shower drain. Unlike the previous reviewer I did not let them plunge it as I did not want crud splattered all over my belongings. I opted for a new room. The second room was better but the toilet did not flush. This place is slipping and has a dated look to it. Also the front desk is not super friendly. On a positive note the cookies are still good. Prob won't be back.

The rooms are excellent, the people are very friendly. Only the Internet didn't work for me.

The WORST experience I ever had. This hotel absolutely has no sense of hygiene. We checked in at night and we def needed some rest. I am not that picky man I have never complained about any kinds of services. The faucet and bathtub was clogged so bad. I know that this can happen… even though we paid here for stay. We called front desk and the maintenance came up and he tried to unclog with some kind of plunger thing. The maintenance did not even tell us to move stuff on the faucet and proceeded his job. The dirt and rotten hair (It seemed like drain was clogged for a very long time) spouted for few times and they were all over on our personal belongings. We requested a room change right away, and the other room's bathtub was dirty as well. We slept two hours that night, and got a half refund of a day. I WOULD NOT stay here or recommend to anyone who travels to Chicago.

Is parking in Chicago expensive? Yeah, but it's in the Magnificent Mile. Really comfortable rooms some with lake views. If you are a Hilton Honors member with Diamond status you get free CONTINENTAL breakfast only. The hot stuff will cost you $8. Not bad if you eat breakfast meats and want your carbs in the form of pancakes or French toast. Continental breakfast does not include eggs. Usually Double Tree offers free breakfast including hot items to Diamond members for free. That's one of the reasons I stay at Double Trees. Ugly building but don't be discouraged. Very modern interior and comfortable rooms make this place.

As for the room in which I slept: maintenance a little neglected, which removes the style but gives an old look. We had booked for 4, there were only 3 towels, 2 glasses to rinse the teeth. There was possibility to make hot drinks, but only 2 doses of coffee and 2 sachets of tea, 2 cups… no fridge. Outlets that do not work, but there were many others that were operational.
Home: All right, pool OK. Breakfast very good too.

Didn't have the smoothest stay here. My check-in was rude. I had already driven all day and was tired. The last thing I needed was a person being rude to me for check-in at a hotel I just spent a bunch of money to stay at. Parking is more than they tell you. The website says $55 but it's actually $55/night so beware of this added cost if you are staying multiple days. The hotel room was very tiny. I had a king corner deluxe (i think it was called) and the actual room wasn't much larger than the bed. The view was pretty, especially at night. This previous stay made me want to stay somewhere else, and if I'm spending this kind of money, I'm sure there are better options available.

Great staff. Rooms are nothing to brag about design wise but was clean and comfortable. Perfect location to easily get to many downtown places. Quality food! The shower didn't properly drain after first use, but when I called maintenance they took care of it in 15 minutes and there was no further problems.

We were very good. The pool deserves a dip because it projects you between skyscrapers and particular glimpses. Perhaps more attention to the children at breakfast not hurt both in the menu and in the room managers.

Had a terrific stay! Very clean! All staff were very nice and pleasant. This hotel is perfect location to just about everything. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning!

The rooms were very clean and the staff was wonderful… the beds were very comfortable and the hotel was in a great location… we were walking distance from all the great restaurants and shopping… will be visiting again soon for a staycation.

Great hotel! It was my first time to stay at Hilton brand and had a wonderful stay! All the staff members are friendly and accommodating especially Elizabeth from Front Desk. The hotel is very clean, well-maintained. The buffet breakfast was good, will definitely stay again in this hotel. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable 😘

Hotel was very clean. The staff was all very helpful and well-groomed. The view from our hotel was just stunning. The location was great you can easily access any area of the city. Great walking distance two tons of shops and other businesses and restaurants.

The staff was great, the beds were comfy, and my view was stunning. What more can a girl want … cookies you say? Why they handed me a warm cookie as I checked in. I fell in love instantly.

It's a good hotel, not great. Outdated and older, but the value is acceptable and the workers friendly.

This is a hotel. It has that area cars can wheel in to, a lobby, and a front desk. All of which are nice. It also has good elevators. I used the elevators to reach the second floor where they have meeting rooms. Inside the meeting rooms were chairs, tables, and other things youd expect to find in a meeting room. I dealt with 0 employees, but the place looked clean, and there was a bussle of people so thats a good sign. Lots of flight attendants, for whatever that's worth… Friendly skies of the ground, I supose. All in all, seems like a great place.

First and foremost, I want to point out that this hotel is not on the "Magnificent Mile" (Michigan Avenue). It's a few blocks east. It's still a pretty solid location — close to Michigan and Navy Pier — but on the Mile it is not. Pretty unexceptional hotel. Service was okay, kinda slow. Again, the location is solid, close to most things tourists will be interested in while visiting Chicago. There are plenty of more interesting, unique, and better located hotels in the city. Especially at the price they charge, you can do better. I highly encourage doing so, unless you find a great rate here.

Comfortable beds and convenient location, but the rooms were not as clean as you'd expect and the food is horrible and expensive. The phone in my room was broken and the bathtub did not drain the water when taking a shower. Also, front desk staff was not helpful. I expect much better for $200 a night.

Great service, excellent rooms. Even got a free upgrade to a Suite. Also, they hove tou a tasty warm cookie at check in. Mmmmm.

As far as "in the city" hotels, DoubleTree was accessible and friendly. Helped me find the quickest right to the interstate. Parking was expensive, but thats the city…

If you're trying to find a really great deal on this amazing hotel I'd highly suggest booking it through the website HotelRaven. Com They have great deals for it on there! Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say really! Great service and concierge. Perfect location if your intention is to visit both North and South Chicago. Minutes walk from the shopping district if that is your gig… The rooms are moderately updated with age showing in the paint and wallpaper. Hotel bar scene is nonexistent and the in house restraints are midrange to fast-food cafe. Got room on Groupon for discount otherwise probably would not have gone for full rate.

The overnight road noise was the worst part. The staff was nice and the cookies on check in are good. The room is OK. We got a discounted rate and it felt like a bargain. Sadly, breakfast is not included and the mini-fridge does not have space for anything other than what they sell.

Overall, the room was ok. The size was adequate, bed was comfortable, it had the basics. One of the main problems I had was that the Wi-Fi didn't work on any of my devices for the entire first day. I had lousy signal in my room as it was but the Wi-Fi refused to connect. When it did work, the speed was obnoxiously slow. The second problem we had was that they didn't have a credit card on file for us for incidentals, which in itself wasn't much of a problem, except somehow it didn't get done at check-in. The real problem arose the following day, when they locked us out of our room forcing us to wait for an elevator, go to our floor, wonder why our card didn't work, wait for the elevator again then wait at the desk to be told we didn't have a credit card on file. The obvious solution would have been to call our cell phone and deal with it that way, but somehow locking us out of our room and inconveniencing us was the better option to them. The only other issue we had was that parking was not included in our stay, which was an additional $55 each night in addition to their room rate. Overall, not a very great experience with our room. We had a great time in the city though! We will definitely be visiting Chicago again, but we definitely will not be staying at this hotel again!

I cannot give more than one star and that's only because they exist. I am not sure what it is about there — I've been to several hotels over the years but from the time I met the bellman I had a bad taste in my mouth. The front desk people were weird — the guy asked me why was in town TWICE — like he wasn't really paying attention to me but rather going through a script in his head. Then I made it up to my room — I asked for a floor as high up as I can get — they said those rooms were being cleaned on Sunday night — get on the elevator and sure enough someone is going to the 26th floor. Then I asked for a view of state street and the guy says I got a view of the lake so I was excited. I got to my room and the view was of a bunch of buildings — mainly the roof of a building with a covered pool. No windows opened. There was no refrigerator, no microwave and the TV was ridiculous to use. The toilet took like 10 minutes to flush — I had to hold down the handle for it to completely flush. It was old and dated and stinky. I left right away — there was no way I was going to stay there for 4 days!

Been here for one night so far, nothing to complain about. Good rates, large rooms, nice bar. Downsides are only fridge is stocked with overpriced drinks, and you cannot remove them without being charged. No free breakfast, only expensive room service. Overall though, very nice hotel at a good price.

Room was nicely furnished: comfortable bed. The only underfurmished area was an air vent in the restroom and the bathtub, although they were very acceptable still. There could be more considerations for customer from the staffs, including providing the pass for Wi-Fi and correctly registering our room keys.

I used to come to this hotel before, unfortunately it got worse than ever. Staff were more friendly, some of them were really nice, but overall guest treatment got worse. There was a young hispanic guy who checked me in and treated me very unprofessionally in front of my friends, he also didn't give me a cooky until I asked him for it, and he gave it to me as if I was a beggar. They also added the treats placed on those sensors, if u move the object and not place it back for 30 seconds left it gets added immediately to your bill. It used to be cleaner also. I don't think it could get worse in other hotels. Will never be back. I would like that young guy to learn something from this, do not treat guest with superiorly because YOU are the one who needs them to get ur job.

I love it! Customer service was wonderful. Manatnce was incridably nice and helpful! The gentamens that received us with kindness off the taxi and into taxis, were truly welcomely, funny and amazing. The staff at this hotel are doing a great job! The rooms are nice and clean, Def will be coming back. Great vibes!

Very nice hotel in Chicago. We took the blue line from O'Hare to about a half mile from this hotel and had no problem walking that short bit. The room was clean and comfortable, and they have everything you would need. They even have us each a warm cookie when we checked in!

1/12/15 Unfriendly staff, Room AC is as noisy as hell, Bed is uncomfortable and is long overdue for replacement, $52/night parking, $8/beer and the only space in the in-room fridge is for old over priced merchandise they want you to buy. Guest comfort and value for money are much lower on the scale of priorities than their need to make money at every turn. I'm outta here…

Loved it! My girlfriend and I just stayed there and it was simply DIVINE. Starting with the front desk clerk, Veronica, who was wonderfully charming. She made us feel like we were honored family guests at her own home. She took time to talk about the hotel, surrounding areas, and where to park for cheap. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The shower pressure was strong, and the rain head made it feel like you were getting a free massage. We had a nice view from the 11th floor, and the room was very quiet. The mini bar was stocked up nicely, albeit a bit pricey. The room was clean and felt modern, and the breakfast was a very tasty buffet. Great price, great location, great room… a great time!

Rather disappointed. When you stay at a nice hotel, especially downtown Chicago, you expect it to be clean at the very least. Not so much. There were remnants from the previous occupiers of my room. A few items in the room, bottle caps, trash, and a razor shield on the side of the tub. The sheets didn't seem to go to the end of the bed, puzzling. I didn't explore this much but I don't think there was a fitted sheet on the bottom, and as mentioned, it didn't seem to fit. I wouldn't recommend this hotel… I saw a special on TV about poor room cleaning services, maybe it was this one. I was sad.

Parking here is pricey, as they don't validate for guests. However, the rate is an amazing deal given the location. So, I suppose it all balances out. Oh, they also have an Einstein Bagel in the lobby, so that's pretty great!

Nice hotel overall but not spectacular. The facilities and rooms are in good repair but a little worn. Everything was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was useless. If your an Honors member you get "free" access but it was not worth the effort, using my mobile internet access was faster and more reliable.

In total, the step was good. The rooms are clean and good prices. Above all I would stay here again.

Everything perfect amenities is in need of a little repair. The problem was that you can't fit anything in the fridge because it's fully stocked.

Went for work. Comfy bed, good shower. Good location and convenient garage. Get a high floor if you don't want to hear street noise.

The first room had a a plumbing issue, but they were quick to move my fiance and myself to a new room. The location is excellent for sightseeing or barhopping. There are some incredible restaurants in the area as well. If you're a young couple, or single person who wants to stay in the center of the fun, this is the place for you! Excellent bar as well, and if you join Hilton Honors you'll get free Wi-Fi!

I had a nice stay but unfortunately im still struggling to get my deposit money from the hotel and I checked out the 15th of july. They dont replay any of my emails.

I needed to cancel my reservation at this hotel. I reserved 7 rooms for 3 nights each in a block and ended up needing to cancel 2 of those rooms. The hotel rebooked my canceled room to someone else for twice the rate in about 10 minutes, but would not work with me on the cancelation fee, which ended up being over $600 for the 2 rooms. I understand cancelation fees, but me canceling was a favor to them and I have been a good customer of the Hilton. This was unbelievable to me.

Nice room. Good size. Insane minibar but that's not surprising. Didn't touch anything. Movie rentals and a great pool after a long day of sightseeing. We were on the 15th floor and had a great view. Perfect location for walking around the city.

I had a migraine at 4:35 in the morning. Called the front desk if advil could be brought to my room. I was told to roam the unsafe streets of Chicago to find the nearest 7-Eleven. Obviously, this person has never had a migraine before and didn't realize how inconsiderate a response that was. Ironically, when I came to the hotel, I was given a letter assuring how enjoyable and comfortable a stay I would have. That was a lie.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for the past 5 days, I just returned home tonight and I must say, the experience from start to finish was outstanding. The location is prime. It is within walking distance to all major attractions. We walked everywhere and only took an uber twice, which was at the end of walking an 8 mile day on both occasions. I'm a tough critic when it comes to rating hotels, and I must say this is the best experience I've encountered. From the moment we walked in, we arrived earlier than check in time because we had an early flight in from NY. Erin behind the counter assured us she would have a room ready for us in about an hour. We checked our bags with a wonderful bellman named Antoine. While checking our bags we asked him a good place to eat, and he recommended Timothy OTooles which was conveniently located right across the street. He gave us a 20% off coupon to use there. We went across the street, had an awesome lunch and came back exactly an hour later where Erin pulled through with her promise of getting us a room. We got our warm cookies upon check in (which were absolutely amazing! ) When getting up to our room, everything was fresh and smelt wonderful. The bed was amazingly comfortable, it felt as though I was sleeping on air. (It was very easy to rest my head every night!

Staff very ghetto an low class. Like to use vulgar language and talk any way to u. After booking my room over the phone with hotwire trying to get. The discounted price. They kept all my money SWEAR TO GOD HIMSELF!. All of it. Literaly cleared my card! now I have no money or a way to get home which is in another city. On top of that I payed for a room I cant sleep in! wish I could rate it no stars.

I have made numerous trips to Chicago over the past couple of years for business. The location is ideal for me because I have to walk 1/2 block. And there are plenty of dining options within walking distance of the the hotel, so that's a plus. And the staff is helpful and friendly, so that's another plus. The big negative is the Wi-Fi. I need a reliable Wi-Fi connection so that I can do work from the hotel room. The "regular" Wi-Fi cost $10 a day, but it is so broken that it is unusable. The "super turbo" service costs $20 a day but it too suffers from constant disconnections. The service has not improved over my many trips and is a constant aggravation. Fortunately the cost is covered by my company but to charge that amount for THAT level of service in unacceptable. Please fix your Wi-Fi.

We just stayed at this hotel over the weekend. My son auditioned for "The Voice. " When we arrived at this hotel it was very late. We had airplane trouble and were very tired. We found a beautiful basket of various cheeses, fruits and crackers and two free breakfasts vouchers and a sweet note wishing my son well from the hotel manager/staff. The beds were so comfortable we both slept really sound We loved the people at the desk and those who work with luggage. Everyone was so friendly and wonderful. I appreciated how clean everything was. It was a very special weekend for us and we can't thank this hotel enough. The breakfast was insanely delicious and fresh. We were just so honored to be taken care of so well. We will be coming to Chicago again and this is definitely where we will stay downtown. Thanks again for such royal treatment! BTW my son was picked for a call back. He just never got called back. :) Great experience anyway. Kelly and Dylan Petit.

A high pitched squealing noise blares all night from the ancient neglected elevator. Honest I've slept maybe 20min its like a sonic laser melting my brain. Omg we can hear the Asian guys next door having a tickle porn party all I hear is deep moaning and then goofy laughter the walls are thin as paper. My son said he heard one guy begging another guy to stop and then he heard more moaning. Also the room it looks cheap and dingy there was a huge cum stain on the wall and there was hair in the sheets. No vending machines anywhere and you can pay $4 for a bottled water on the gift shop or $9 at the mini bar. I give it 1 star because the view of the intersection was actually kind of entertaining watching the idiots in Chicago TRY to drive was mildly interesting.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in! The ultimate location for downtown Chicago, very close to the water and Millennium park. Only 3-4 blocks from Michigan Ave. The hotel was super clean and tastefully decorated. The bartender at the hotel was awesome and made one of the best bloody marys I've ever had! The service is very quick and they even gave us cookies upon checking in. The room was huge and had everything we needed. Best prices I could find in downtown and perfect location. I plan on staying here every time I visit Chicago.

Although I don't like this hotel, honestly it is good at least on a superficial level. The interior looks pleasant from the lobby to the room; the location is fantastic, super worth the $67/nt deal I got on Priceline; staff are nice. But the management is indifferent and inconsiderate. First, someone always knocked at my door every morning to check if all the snacks and drinks (you have to pay if you eat/drink them. There is a sensor. If you touch the food the management knows) were in place. It's so disturbing and absurd. I didn't ask the hotel to put the snacks and drinks there, while I have to be bothered to respond to their request. And I felt offended because it feels like being suspected of possible theft. I KNOW I have to pay for what I eat, OK? Besides, if I ate anything in that room, the hotel can charge it from my credit card or they can do the check when I am checking out, so why did they have to bother me during my stay? I wrote my feelings in the comment card, but no response yet. Second, when I checked my credit card bill two weeks after the 2-night stay, I found my credit card was charged $11.02 on 12/24 for no reason (nothing specified in my bill) and without any notice. (again, I didn't eat anything in that room and it was checked). I emailed the hotel asking why my card got charged and I waited for five days, but again NO RESPONSE! I called them eventually, and the answer was "You were charged for the food at the mini-bar in the room!

It is awful first I thought they had a pool all year around I got the rooms for my granddaughter she won't to get in the pool for her bday they email my my total and when I got hear it was more a hundred dollars more uuuuuuugh so upset.

OMG — — — This was an ideal stay for our visit. The Staff was Awesome — — bellmen, concierge, check-in. Esp the day-early evening — Kenneth, Antoine, Raphael. WE will be back and you better be there! You could not ask for a better group, they advised us correctly in everything we did. Room was cozy and roomy, clean. And helpful for getting us the refrigerator for our medicaton. Our only negative is don't pay for a Lakeview room rate. — How do you see the lake between buildings — only a sliver — — crazy — but it was our first time and did not know any better.

HORRIBLE Experience with Doubletree at Magnificent Mile! First we get there and they had screwed up our reservation for 12 people to stay in 3 rooms and they only had 2 rooms available and were otherwise sold out. So we had to cram 6 people to each room. Such a joke! The desk staff employees were rude and unpleasant. As was security whom we had to call as we were away from our room utilizing the hotel pool, someone had come in and taken money from a few purses that we 'thought' were safe locked in our room. Also when you pay for your parking you have 10 minutes to exit the building/ramp. They don't tell you this though. So a few of my guests paid for parking when we got up for breakfast, however were charged an additional $31.00 for exceeding the 10 minutes and the hotel wouldn't do anything about it. I will never again use this hotel, nor will any of the other guests that were crammed into my rooms. In fact we were all so displeased that we will be communicating our disapproval to anyone we know that may be traveling to Chicago in the future. However, the location was great. Hotel is nice and clean. Bellhop and curb-service staff were delightful! Also the rooftop pool was very nice. Its unfortunate that such a nice place can be so aweful.

We recently stayed here with our 4 year old on vacation. The hotel was clean and the staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and offered great suggestions on the best local restaurants for families. Parking garage was attached to the hotel and easily accessible. This will be our hotel of choice when we visit Chicago again.
