Recently returned from a 5 night stay. Great location and our room was very quiet, these are the only reason I would perhaps recommend Inn of Chicago … However I would definitely inform people of the following points — the rooms could do with some serious TLC and the air con unit in our room was VERY old and noise! but the main point I am not happy about and I must say slightly confused as to why we were charged $55.70 (£44) we didn't use any room service and this definitely wasn't explained to us checking in or out! No explanation! Just appeared on my statement received today! I thought we had paid for the holiday in FULL before travelling. Not impressed.

I’m stay at the hotel in chicago! Yes it so nice place and good hotel but service it so bad because In 27 Aug 2019 I stayed at the hotel in Chicago (Inn of Chicago hotel) The hotel deducted deposit my money $150 in my debit card. They said it will be refunded in 10 days (by time depends on the bank) When I left the hotel in 30 Aug 2019. I got refund just 75.58 $ so I've been waiting until now. It's 1 month already and I have not received the rest of my refund yet. I’m so sad! I’m try to be contact with you anyway but you don’t interest me! yes I’m know just a little money but this is my money! I’m need to get it! Can you refund money for me please about 74.42$?

Lobby was nice. Terrace had a nice view. Rooms were okay. Not what was expected for the price paid. The lady that checked me and my friend in was super rude. Asked to pay the valet parking in cash when we checked out and she ran it on my card instead. Anytime we tried talking to her she rolled her eyes and interrupted us. As we were checking out and mentioned that the valet parking was charged wrong to the gentleman dealing with us, she glared and rolled her eyes at us again. Room didn't come with a mini fridge to keep food or drinks or anything cold. Definetly would of given more stars if the experience was a little bit better.

Stayed 2 nights, was charged for 3, despite repeatedly requesting a reimbursement.

NOT WORTH IT Did alot of research first and decided to go there it was right in the location we wanted but that was it. Claims to be comfortable Not Even Close. I went there for my Anniversary and believe me if you want comfort stay somewhere else. The location is great but that's it. The rooms lack design, the hallway had paint peeling off the walls, paid for a pillow top king got a crappy uncomfortable mattress older than me, TV only had 7 channels, pillows are flat, room had a musty smell to it, no view what so ever was facing a building and an alley. For the price you pay you would expect alot that's not the case. The entrance is the only thing that has been renovated. The paint was peeling from the bathroom ceiling and the bathroom door, the bathroom flooring was dingy and stained. It claimed to be a non smoking room but the mirror obviously had smoke stains. I'm truly disappointed what was supposed to be a nice Anniversary weekend turned out miserable.

Had a great stay, small rooms but had a great view and loved the rooftop patio.

They charge to much for deposit as 150 instead 100 like other hotels in same area. The rooms are small especially the bathroom it's a closet size. Biggest issue is they have no refrigerators or even a simple microwave in the room. So I asked from desk " is there any microwaves downstairs? No they dont have any. It's a shame that most cheap hotels to mid range hotels I been in have at least a microwave in room and if they dont usually in dining room there is one for use. Furniture out dated and this hotel is worth 30-40 a night definitely not the price they advertise and I got a discount price and still was a little high. Not worth coming back at all.

Not only is it overpriced for Motel 6 — like accommodations, but they fraudulently charged our credit card — twice ($59 each time). When we called, they said it was for use of their valet service. Well we only stayed one night AND we used a public parking garage (good thing we have the receipt). I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to a homeless person… they deserve better.

Inn of Chicago is in a great location. Magnificent mile anyone. Rooms are spacious however the bathrooms are verryy tiny. Bar downstairs free drinks every night. This is a older boutique type hotel. Rooftop is nice when its open.

The inn was nice. Wonderfully decorated lobby and bar make the hotel look upscale until you get in the room. The rooms were small and a bit cramped, but you pay for what you get and I got this deal off of Groupon. The location, however, is absolutely amazing. It's right beside the magnificent mile in the heart of everything. It was within walking distance of everything.

Nice hotel in a great location for the price. Lobby team is great… from the reservation staff to the bell men. Housekeeping arrives at your door at 830am daily. Not great if you want to chillax. The one assigned to my room was so conscientious she actually knocked and walked in my room. I usually stay for business trips Not sure I would stay they over a weekend for pleasure but not a bad place at all.

Great location! The price was right for this charming hotel. The rooms are a bit on the small side, with even smaller bathrooms. While I missed the vanity space we've enjoyed at more modern hotels, the pedestal sink was very charming and there was shelf space in the bathroom to make up for the loss. There was not a fridge, nor microwave in our room, but we didn't really miss them with as much restaurants were nearby to enjoy. The only drawback was that the girl at the front counter was less than friendly each time we were in need to talk to her. Overall if you are looking for affordability and are not planning on spending your time in Chicago just hanging out in your room, this is the place to stay. We will definitely plan on staying again, the next time we are in the city.

Found Inn of Chicago through Groupon. Excellent rate! Very pleased at our experience. Hotel was very nice. Rooftop terrace where you can bring your own drinks is a huge plus. Room was small but bed was comfy. Tiny bathroom (but great shower head! ) but still pleased with our stay as the rate was fantastic and we only sleep in room, gone all day. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Decent deal on valet too, was worth the extra $7 a day. Perfect location downtown too, many great restaurants near by and centeral to most anything you’d like to do. Our floor was quiet, no disturbances. One suggestion would be to have free coffee/tea though in lobby. They had water once or twice but other times there was nothing out. Would be a nice touch. There is an attached cafe to purchase drinks or snacks. We would definitely stay again!

Check in and valet were extremely nice and it was very easy. The lobby was beautiful, the rooftop terrace was well maintained and gorgeous. Our room was small and cozy, it was not fancy, just a basic room you could get for a much lower price anywhere else. The bathroom was old, small and in much need of repair, but the shower was great (I always want a good shower). You pay for the location and it was an excellent location, right in the middle of everything!

Great location, and value! Beautiful rooftop patio! About a block from the Magnificent Mile. From the moment we pulled up in our car, Victor was wonderfully helpful. He assisted us in parking temporarily, unloading the car, a key to use the lobby restroom, and even helped us in leaving to take the car to a parking structure. Victor made our initial impression of The Inn of Chicago a very positive one. He was great! Now for the actual hotel itself… it is an older/historic building with smaller rooms and elevators. However, it is clean and efficient. We loved hanging out on the rooftop patio and the gorgeous view, our bed was comfortable and so was the temperature. The location is so perfect and close to all the action. We will definitely come again, and look for Victor. What a great asset he is. Thanks to The Inn of Chicago for a great stay!

The staff was super friendly and helpful, location was great, and the price couldn’t be beat. However, the hotel is a little rundown, and the cleanliness wasn’t the best. (We stayed about 5 mins in our first room due to a dirty (bloody) spot on the bathroom wall. (The staff was very helpful and switched our rooms immediately. )

I am currently staying here until Thursday. Let me say, I am not satisfied. The first room we were assigned to had NO A. C. And mind you it’s about 90 degrees+ outside, So we went to the front desk to inform them, they then changed our room. Great — well, this room was on the 22nd floor. The chair was stained along with the floor, the mattress was uncomfortable and dirty and the pillows were awful. I canceled with another hotel to stay at this one because it seemed better, it I was wrong. This has been the worst stay. I want my money back, it was not worth it. I will be making a call to HQ when I get back. So disappointed.

Excellent location and affordable rates. The rooms are small and could use a remodel, but they are clean and well managed. Lobby is nice, and the 22nd floor terrace on the roof is fantastic. And excellent place to chill out, enjoy summer weather, and take in a fabulous view of the skyline. Edit: King suite rooms are spacious, though still need a remodel. 5/2018 update — rooms have been remodeled. A nice improvement.

Staff were perfunctory, which was fine. Rooms were clean and well kept, the queen room I had was cozy. Coffee and sundries were provided. Bed was comfortable and warm enough. A air conditioning unit was provided. Walls were on the thin side — could hear TV of the room next to me, and the party girls over the hall more clearly than I would have liked. Overall, a nice place, good quality for the money.

The rooms were clean which was important. The lobby and elevator had a very old fashioned strong smell, like that of an old perfume or Incense. The staff was friendly. The walls are very thin. You can hear the next room over. The hall walls were dirty. It is a good place to stay on a budget but not in terms of amenities or style. It's outdated.

Very good location.

My wife and I stayed there a week before Christmas last year and I got to say that for us being our first time in Chicago our experience was great, the staff was very helpful and the room was great. Our view was nice and being so close to all the shopping in the area was a plus… not only that but the price was not bad… We would love to go back again… Thank you.

Clean rooms, excellent service, friendly staff, and great walking distance from a lot of hot spots. As a tourist, I was very pleased with my stay. BUT After my stay, the charge was posted to the credit card, and it was ONLY then that an extra 80.00 was charged. The hotel claimed this was a city tax for Chicago. There was absolutely no mention of this prior to our stay. They were dishonest and nontransparent. Here, let me write your response for you. "Thank you for your feed back! We are disappointed to hear that we did not exceed your expectations. We will discuss you concerns moving forward. " You already lied to me once, why should I believe anything else you have to say?

Excellent hotel, good, nice and cheap. Very good location, there are shops and squares very close and one block from one of the most important avenues in Chicago.

Very small rooms. The cleanliness is not very good. But he has an excellent hubicacion.

If you think you are getting a 5 star hotel for around $100 in the heart of Chicago you are probably delusional. But if you want a clean room with nice beds, a very pleasant staff and you can overlook a little wear & tear this is the perfect place to stay. The location is fantastic with so many places within walking distances. We loved it & will stay again.

Awesome location and price. The lobby was gorgeous but going into the elevator and up to the rooms was a different story. Our room was dated and a bit dirty. It would be really nice to add microwaves and mini fridges to the room. I know this wasn't the hotel's fault, but when we returned to our room after a night out, the entire floor reeked of weed. I was woken up 3 separate times between 130-3 am because of people being extremely loud and partying. Like I said in the beginning, it was a great price and location — convenient to everything you'd want to experience in Chicago, but not the nice trendy stay that you would think you would get from the booking site or the look of the lobby.

Room is nice. It has a mini fridge which is nice because we're staying for a week. The only issues I would have is that that a/c doesn't work very well and the window doesn't open. But it's a great hotel with good amenities and very helpful and friendly staff.

Great price for the location, right off of the Mag Mile! I paid $100 to stay right downtown Chicago on a Saturday night. Rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and the staff is so friendly. The rooftop terrace offers a beautiful skyline view. This is my new go to hotel in Chicago.

I had a great experience at the Inn. Close to everything that Downtown Chicago has to offer. Clean rooms. Beds are comfy. Pleasant employees. Just wish parking was cheaper. Overall a good hotel.

Definitely a much older hotel. Rooms, hallway, and elevator are definitely outdated. The bathroom was very small but the bed was comfortable. My room had a gorgeous view. Great location surrounded by shopping. Staff was very nice.

You get what you pay for. I understand that people have some complaints but it's is cheaper than the other hotels around. Staff was nice. Could be cleaner. Bathrooms could have better isolation. Elevators need some renovation. The heat wasn't working in my room but they fixed it. I would stay there again.

The location is perfect walking distance to most places! Great restaurants down the street. The rooms are decent, bed isn't a pillow top so that was a let down, hurt our backs. It does need an update but we didn't spend a ton of time in the hotel. Service was good. Very pleasant.

My boyfriend and I had a nice stay here. We stayed for just one night while passing through Chicago. Great location and affordable. Check in was smooth. The elevators are real small but the room was pleasing and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel is very well located close to Metro and stops, walking from Navy Pier Millenium Park and John Hankook. Super attentive solves info and tourist needs.

Got a nice deal online. In the mid of city that's a big benefit. Easily accessible to public transport. But cleanliness can be improved room service was not satisfactory. Everything else was great.

Difficult to assess. Centrally and nice rooms. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the management leaves itself to be desired. Unfortunately we could not take two nights due to a cancelled flight. We immediately notified the hotel (email with the cancel message and the new air tickets) so that the room could be shared. All attempts to get some money back from Expedia or directly at the management will remain in vain! Very disappointed!

Great location! The lobby was clean and modern looking. Elevators were very small and very banged up. Our 1st room, half of the lights didn't work and was dirty. They moved us to another room with stains on the carpet, cigarette burns in the drywall and carpet as well. In the drawer next to the bed, there was a container of pizza sauce left by previous customers that smelled horrible. Would not stay here again. Cleanliness is a must regardless of what star hotel they are.

I got a good deal for my room when I booked it online. I was looking for an affordable place close to MagMile to crash in for the night and this hotel met my expectations. The rooms were small but comfortable. The only thing it missed was a microwave in it to reheat your overnight food. Oh, and they need to update their air-conditioning. It does the job, albeit slowly, but it takes one hell of a space by the window. The top floor is a nice place to be for some quiet conversations.

Good hotel, bathroom a little small but for the price it was good. It had a lot of moisture in the room but it didn't have any pests. Shower needed to be cleaned a little better just like under the beds.

In the photos The hotel looked very different. The rooms looked nice and cared for but the reality was the opposite. Downstairs at reception the hotel is moonlit and nice but the rooms are old fashioned, the carpet was dirty and the bathroom old and worn.

The staff at the front desk were not friendly or attentive the only Q helped us was Mr. Jorge really C Porto excellent the rest of receptionists for nothing C for Q work on that have no human quality a brunette woman ignored us as we were Latinos did not care to attend D E very bad taste of rest the hotel well located.

Well located. Good cost-services ratio. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it, plus you have the option of early check-in or extended check-out according to your needs for an acceptable cost.

It's a 3 star hotel so expect 3 star quality or lack there of. Location is great though! One staff member was really nice and upgraded us to at top floor suite which we were so grateful for. But carpets are pretty dingy with spots all over. That was the extent to our good customer service. Everyone else was just okay.

Rooms were a bit small, but they made good use of the space. The ac worked great, so the room was a welcome respite from the summer heat. The elevators were a bit small, but we never had to wait long to up or down from the 17th floor. Checked bag service was courteous and efficient. Great place to stay in a great location for a lot less than I'd expect.

This place was super comfy. I slept so well. It was cozy and a bit small but really really clean and the staff was super nice. If want to enjoy a hotel trip others may have more offer BUT if you are trying to enjoy the city this is an AMAZING spot.

I'll start by saying, the friendliest staff ever, plenty of clean towels and sheets, good location. However, the downstairs lobby is very deceiving. This place needs to be remodeled. Ugh sigh… smallest, loudest and awful eye burning bright lights in the elevators, paints peeling everywhere, holes in walls, carpets disgusting and sticky, a/c never worked (why I'm writing this review! ), sink leaked and was literally falling off the wall, bottom of tub was sticky (YUCK! ), AND (second reason in writing this! ) my boyfriend was disgusted. He couldn't even sit in the office chair provided. How do I put this? Because it honestly looked as though it had male squirts on it?! He laid a towel across the bottom and backing just to sit and put his shoes on the first night. He begged me to get a different hotel room and I said they all were probably like that one. He was so grossed out! We love Chicago and again I say the staff is wonderful. 3 stars is me being kind to the staff. Just beware is all. If they bring the amenities up to the standards that match the staffs friendliness and professionalism then it will be a really cool place. Good luck. To the supposed owner whom responded to my post. I state again the service from the staff is to be seen separately. The staff is wonderful. The place is in really bad shape. Start there first. No apologies needed. Just fix it and I'm sure your business will get better.

I mean I don't know what all the negative reviews are about. We just spent 4 days there and the hotel was mostly great. PERFECT location. Dunkin Donuts an 7eleven right across the street is super convenient. Its central to everything. You can walk to all the major attractions from there. Our room was clean and our beds were comfy. The bathroom was smaller but totally sufficient (although my 1 complaint is that the mirror in the bathroom seriously needed to be replaced). Elevators were small and busy at times. But not a major deal. The rooftop terrace was cute and comfy. If we ever go back we'd definitely stay again.

I was very happily surprised at the value provided. The location is ideal for much of the main Chicago attractions, with almost everything being a pleasant walk away. It isn't plush or opulent, but it's quite comfortable. Will definitely look to stay here again. Edited to add: don't miss the rooftop terrace/lounge on the 22nd floor.

First off the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, however the motel itself is gross. The lobby is very nice looking and that's it. The hallway carpeting was stained and old same with the decor. The room was very small, bathroom has pealing paint and the fresh towels were on a shelf inside the shower. If this motel was redone it would have great potential.

I'm confused, I went to book a room here last fall and it said closed. I stayed in 2014-15. I love the place, staff is nice, location you can't beat price you can't beat for The Gold Coast Magnificent Mile. There's an awesome bar, no restaurant. But the best restaurants in Chicago are steps away. One room I got was pretty tiny, the other two decent size. Views and the Rooftop ****** (6 stars)

Great location, just a few minutes from Michigan Avenue. The cost is accessible for a metropolis such as Chicago, only a pity for the absence of breakfast, made by the immediate proximity of a Lavazza bar (from the coffee at least acceptable). Good bartenders, good old fashioned.

Great for location, pretty much downtown in Chicago. The hotel leaves a little to be desired, especially for cleanliness. Good if you want to visit the Magnificent Mile and sleep in a cheap place (by the standards of the area)

But otherwise… room smelly and not clean (the duvet was indescribable) microscopic bath, to have wipes and salviettoni we had to ask for three days out of four…

I would First off that the lobby and the room you are getting are two different things. Once you get to your room you will notice that the rooms are outdated. Not just outdated, but also quite dirty. We arrived to the room and noticed the floors needed cleaning. Now the location is great since it is near the malls and shopping centers. Yet the service here is quite a gamble. Some of the staff is great but some are quite rude. For example, I needed some shampoos for me and my family. I asked for four shampoos four and four conditioner since the bottles were the size of my index finger. I was only given two bottles of each. Now the problem is that I was traveling with a family of four and two bottles just wasn't enough. The next day I asked for more and was given the same amount of shampoos and was said "that's all we have" and that "if I wanted service you should not have put the 'do not disturb' sign" are you serious? First of all, I go to other hotels and they give you the amount of shampoos you ask for with out any excuses and second the price for this hotel room was very expensive for me not to put up a 'DND', some people just don't want to be disturbed and prefer not to get service at that time. What later on happened was quite a surprise because when we came back to the hotel room we could not open the door. They changed the lock keys on us while we were away. The reason was technically that we didn't pay for the valet parking when in reality we did pay for it.

Great location. Absolutely depressing room. It was so small that the television wouldn't fit at the foot of the bed. The carpet looked dirty and bubbled up in places. The bed was worn out. The only highlight is that the sheets weren't visibly dirty. And I didn't see any bugs.

I visited Inn of Chicago for a professional presentation. The hotel lobby seemed nice and recently remodeled. The conference space was nice, though the ceilings seemed quite low. The catered lunch was pretty good too.

We had an excellent experience this week. When you enter the front door, you are greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. The lobby is very comfortable and plenty of space to lounge and use free Wi-Fi. It is an older hotel with beautiful woodworking throughout. Our room was smaller than we expected and did not have a refrigerator or microwave. It was very basic but very nice. Extremely comfortable bed with lovely comforter. Bathroom is quite small but adequate. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful including cleaning staff. Thrilled we could walk to Michigan Avenue. Would stay again.

The hotel entrance and outside was nice and clean looking, got checked into my room quickly and did the valet parking. The elevators are extremely small and uncomfortable, but they do the job. The hallway to our floor (16th floor) was fine but the carpet was bubbled up and looked bad and almost tripped on it. The room was not what we were expecting from the pictures, smaller and not as updated as it looked in the picture. Disappointed the bar wasn't open when we wanted to get a drink. Overall good experience, would come back for the right price.

Okay, so listen: the location is great. It really is in prime real estate. The problems: this place is filthy. The bathroom was so dirty that when I got there, I went a couple of blocks down to a Walgreens and bought clorox wipes. There were visible brown spatters on the wall near the shower, the shower curtain was stained, there were personal hairs on the floor, and I only had one out of 3 toiletry items. The carpet was old and stained. On day two, I returned to my room, and housekeeping had TAKEN MY SHOWER CURTAIN? The A/C was extremely loud, it woke me multiple times during the night. The sheets were very crisp and clean, clearly well-laundered and the bed was comfortable. But just be prepared — — this is NOT a clean or updated establishment. If your budget has any leeway, go elsewhere. I was booked in on a corporate trip and would not ever stay here again.

Great location in the city, walking distance to a lot of the sights. A block off magnificent mile. Staff was friendly. Housekeeping not that thorough, they didn't re-dress the bed. I would stay here again and recommend it.

I loved the location (being right beside the Magnificent Mile and walking distance to the river)! The room itself is pretty standard fare for the rate I paid for, but not as luxurious as some chain hotels. The staff seemed really friendly and had no problems finding out information. I wish I had more time to take in the bar and other amenities here, but for a reasonable priced stay for the Chicagoland area I enjoyed it!

Staff were great and friendly. They let us check in early. The beds did not have a comforter which is odd and missing Amenities. They had a flying stating people don't care about amenities, which I they should rethink about. Good price for a one night stay.

Basic rooms but overall clean. Great price and perfect location for a downtown visit. Pity the Wi-Fi fee in the room, $14 if compared to the price of the room they are a blunder.

Our check in with Jorge went very smoothly. We booked through Priceline with an extremely reasonable rate, and got a room that was clearly reserved for such rates (which I understand). The TV made a very annoying buzzing sound when powered on, which wasn't a huge deal since we weren't here to watch TV, and a call to the front desk went fine — the (now different) desk clerk suggested we call in the morning before heading our to request their engineer take a look. That ended up being unnecessary, however, because beginning at about 1 am, the room's air conditioner unit began 20 minute intervals of grinding, groaning sounds. After several rounds of sleeping then waking to the noise, I went down to request a room change (about 4:30 am). The front desk clerk (Matt) was willing to let us move rooms to sleep then worry about moving our stuff in the morning, which I thought was fair for everyone. The second room was nearly identical, minus the obnoxious noises. Overall an incredibly good value for the location, accommodations, and friendly staff.

Loved the fact that I was within reasonable walking distance of every landmark and important views in chicago. I was here only for a few days so the fact that I could walk everywhere from here was amazing. Prime location for such an affordable price. Not going to find anywhere else this cheap in downtown. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy, but who needs that when you are going to be out and about all day long. Rooftop terrace had a nice view too.

The bedroom was large, clean, good service, excellent location and price according to my budget, definitely that I paid if I recommend it.

I stayed here when I came across a deal on kayak for $64/night. All I can say is you get what you pay for. The hotel is pretty dated and it could definitely use a few repairs. Cleanliness could be improved. My first room was a bit dirty… There was a grocery bag covering the spot where the light was supposed to be, pillow cases were dirty with oil and what I assumed to be makeup, bathtub had a ton of hair in it. Asked to switch rooms, and Josephine kindly got me a new room with no questions asked. Staff was polite and courteous. Pretty great location right off of Michigan Ave. Overall a good stay for people who aren't too picky.

Recently I attended a meeting at the Inn of Chicago and was pleasantly surprised at how great of a facility it was. Staff was helpful and friendly, accommodations were nice, and the people were excellent. Had a great time and would visit again.

Hotel is not kept in good repair. AC/Heater cover was sitting on the bed when we arrived and the room was 92 degrees. Finally got it to cool down about an hour later. Water is either cold, room temp, or scalding hot. Great location right off of Michigan Ave. Parking was what I expect from Chicago. $52 for valet, which you can come and go as you please or $46 to park and leave your car, no in/out.

Room was smaller but that's to be expected in Chicago especially a classic hotel. All the appliances and decor was well kept and matched the style of the hotel. Front desk staff was very courteous. The hotel was very clean and my room was very nice. They even honored my request for location of my room.

This hotel was in a great location, easy access to shopping and dining on michigan ave. The bus stop to museum csmpus is one block away. The room was clean and comfortable with 4 nice pillows and good bedding and large enough for 2 adults to share comfortably. It is not a 4 star hotel but perfect for a weekend getaway on a budget. The temperature in the room was easy to adjust and make comfortable. They provided a coffee pot and hair dryer which is nice.

I liked the hotel downtown, have virtually everything within reach, all, just that we went shopping and stole us a few lenses Michael Kors women's, I did the repirte and they were let me know, or anything. Already then stay with a bad taste in the mouth of your stay.
