Nice layout, rooms are not clean. My expectations was very high especially being in downtown Chicago. No microwaves in the rooms we had to go down to the front desk to get ice. Looks as if it’s very open atmosphere.

Our room was not very clean and they do not offer house cleaning right now due to the pandemic. The walls are paper thin and could hear the room above us fighting and breaking things all night. I am not sure how price line labeled The Ivy a 4.5 star hotel but I would have to disagree.

Do not stay here! Go anywhere else. The room was not cleaned, still had flower petals from Valentine’s Day. It’s October. I feel like the staff should all go work at the DMV, they would fit in better. You are in the Hospitality business so you should be kind of Hospitable. A lot of nicer places that care about the guests.

The neighborhood is safe there's a Japanese Steakhouse out front great area but buyer beware since going through the covid-19 the hotel has adopted a policy now that they do not clean your room make your bed or replace your towels washcloths except for every two days when they come in they do not wipe the remote they do not wipe down the furniture or clean the room just to let you know and charge you full price and what's your bill I got charged twice.

The staff was very unfriendly when we checked in, and the room was in some disrepair. Tub drain didn’t work properly, window crank came off in my hand and I had to remove the screen to manually pull the window shut, and the room wasn’t dusted. Not impressed. I will say that the staff was much friendlier in the morning.

I stayed here and after illegal charges, NO ONE returned my calls. I had to do a charge back. It was ridiculous. Watch your cards after staying here! Be careful of the slippery slab in the shower. Make sure you check the cleaniness of your room. Do not allow them to be put on the 1st floor. You will get a view of the dumpsters.

King suite was very nice, clean and with a well thought out layout. Breakfast was delicious, concierge was very helpful. Well appointed for local eateries and shopping.

This was our second stay at the Ivy and we will absolutely be back! It’s a perfect location near fabulous restaurants and Michigan Avenue. We stayed in the king suite both times and love it. The decor is perfect, a very comfortable bed, and a phenomenal bathroom, especially the walk-in rainfall shower! The staff are courteous and ensure you have the best stay during your time there. The only downside is the valet parking is $52/night, but it’s cheaper than the hotel across the street which is $63/night.

Loved my stay at the Ivy hotel. Very high quality, beautiful rooms that make for a relaxing stay in a great location. Only drawback was the lack of a fitness center. Would stay again though.

Visited this hotel for a birthday celebration on the rooftop. The night was perfect. Great ambiance. The drinks were a little watered down so not sure who was the bartender 8/25/18 but we need alcohol in the drinks please lol. Other than that, everything was clean and enjoyable.

It is a nice place. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are amazing. Very clean and great housekeeping. The rooms are cheaply furnished however. If the furnishings where nicer it would have been 5 stars.

Great location two blocks away from Magnificent Mile (less noisy than staying on Michigan Ave) by a Garrett’s popcorn and close to everything we wanted to see as tourists. Hotel was very clean, the service was great, loved the decor and the king suite was the perfect space for me and my husband during the week we were in Chicago over 4th of July 2018. There was visible construction next to the hotel but we didn’t hear it at all. We would definitely come back the next time we’re in Chicago!

Swanky digs in the middle of the city. Nice rooms (we had a king suite) with a living room area. Great automated curtain and sunshade on full wall windows made for plenty of natural light, and a giant bathroom with large tub. Fun rooftop views. Easy access to Navy Pier and good restaurants in the area! Highly recommended.

Change your valet service. I was at a seminar here this weekend and used your valet service. I'd rather pay more, and have better service. I've never seen a hotel where I had to call the valet each time I tried to drop off my car and get my car back and they were nowhere to be found. No credit card machine to pay the valet so we have to pay at the front desk. The front desk is so helpful and the hotel is so beautiful but the parking and valet is the FIRST AND LAST impression you make and it was genuinely TERRIBLE.

My daughter booked an executive suite for two nights to celebrate my Mother's Day. There were four of us: me, my husband, daughter and her friend. We checked in on Sunday, May 13 and checked out on Tuesday, May 15. The reason for the two nights was because I was scheduled for outpatient surgery on Monday at Northwestern Hospital two blocks away and she wanted to make sure we would make it on time for my outpatient 7:00 a. M surgical appointment. Everything went fine until it started to rain on Monday. By Monday night during one of the NBA playoff games, we lost complete power to all three televisions. However, cable service started going out Sunday night before the rain. The Cable system was through Direct TV. After calling the hotel desk, speaking to the clerk (Dana) AND her manager, we were given no consideration. I asked if my daughter could be given some concessions on her bill. We were told no discounts are allowed. I also asked if there was another room we could stay in because everyone was really eager to see the Warriors/Rockets game. We were told cable service was disrupted throughout the hotel. We even asked if there was another hotel we could stay at (there are plenty in this area), whose cable service was not disrupted and was told we would have to do the calling (each hotel) ourselves.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! It was only for one night, but the location, amenities, and quality of room were amazing. I had an incredibly helpful person at the front desk. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Very clean and extremely nice rooms. Don't get caught without your key card though, because you need it for the elevators.

The rooms are big and super nice. We were amazed by the TV built into the bathroom mirror. Haha! The rooftop bar is wonderful as well!

Stayed for 2 nights while in Chicago for a conference. Staff was polite. Room was top notch. No complaints.

For a downtown hotel, prices are actually reasonable. Definitely recommend upgrading to a king suite simply for the large soaking bath tub. Easily worth the $20-$30 difference in price. Staff is also friendly. There is a bar and rooftop but, as with most hotels, are pretty pricey and you're usually better off just venturing out for a drink elsewhere.

I booked a King Suite, via Expedia, for 2 nights. (Liked the hotel so much that we ended up booking a 3rd night while staying there) This reservation was a Valentine Surprise for my Husband, as we both desired to stay in the city, but not our own home for a few days. The decor is what caught my attention. I was looking for something other than standard hotel furniture. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is wide, and there's a TV in the mirror. Pretty cool! The first night, the TV in the mirror did not work, but when we returned from breakfast the following morning, maintenance and house keeping had voluntarily noticed and fixed it for us. I like the location of this hotel, because it is 1 block east of Michigan Ave. And pretty quiet. The noise of Michigan Ave, did not spill over onto Ontario Street, and traffic was minimum.
My only gripe (But I won't take away a star for this) is that it seemed no matter how high I placed the thermostat, it seemed to never fully warm up. There was a vent to the right of the bed, and while standing directly underneath, the heat seemed to work. But once moving from that exact spot, the heat really couldn't be felt any longer. Maybe the rooms are very wide and spacious and their heating system cant reach all, I don't know.
After booking 2 nights via Expedia, I went to the front desk and booked a 3rd night, which was about 50 dollars cheaper because Sunday night's prices differ from friday and saturday prices… so that was a plus.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The customer service and the room was everything and more! The bathroom was our favorite part of our hotel stay! Shower and bath was spacious. Our location was perfect walking distance for all of the activities we had planned.

Great place to stay. The location is perfect — only a few blocks from the Mag Mile and many restaurants around. The room was amazing — an overhead showerhead!

Very nice room for the cost. It was spacious, had free Wi-Fi, and a large waterfall shower. A quick cab ride from most of the tourist spots in downtown, too! The only thing I missed was a gym actually within the hotel — they give you a voucher to the nearby Planet Fitness instead.

Amazing rooms for the price. Very friendly staff both at the bar (especially Dave) and the service desk. Also only 5 rooms to a floor so it's very private without a lot of noise.

The room itself was great, and the employees were friendly! However, the hotel's poor proactive, and now retroactive, customer service when they extremely inconvenience guests is what drops this rating from a 4 to a 2. Saturday afternoon a piece of paper was placed on our door informing us the water would be shut off from 3-6am. The hotel had zero concern on how this would
Impact guests. What if I had a 6am flight and needed to shower? In our case, we weren't leaving Sunday, but we did have to use the hotel bottle water to brush our teeth. Naturally, even though the water was out they charged us for this as the charge came through four days after our stay (it baffles me the GM allowed this to happen). Additionally, the hotel gave no information respective to what to expect when you turn your water back on (the water was yellow/brown and had disgusting sediment), and the front desk couldn't really answer what was going on or when it was safe to use again (they even used the word "sewage" when referencing the sink water that looked like sewage waste). All the hotel provided was a "sorry boutcha luck" notification the day of. Additionally, the hotel is very very small. It's a boutique, so I suppose that's fine, but had I known the hospitality was going to be lacking and I was going to have crap water coming out of the sink once it was turned back on, maybe I'd have chosen a hotel that at least had a gym or coffee to offer guests in the morning.

First time in Chicago for my birthday. My girlfriend booked a room here and by far the best experience I've ever had. To the front desk, bell hop, and bartender (Ivan) who was awesome! Rooftop bar was under renovations but the bar downstairs made up for it. Room was beautiful. Perfect location. I will stay only here whenever I visit. The Kid from Florida. Johnny.

I booked here somewhat hesitantly after seeing a few pictures online that made the guest rooms appear small, but it was outweighed by the excellent location. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when we checked into our spacious, stylish and incredibly comfortable queen room. Not only was the room well-appointed, but the staff was professional, courteous, and went the extra mile in suggesting alternative rooftop terraces when they told us their terrace wad closed for the season. Best of all, I had one of the best nights of sleep I can remember and I am notoriously picky about mattresses. There's no doubt we'll be back on our next visit! Location, price, amenities, all exceeded expectations.

Attended a wedding here. Arrived a bit early, so went to the rooftop terrace. Drink prices were reasonable for downtown Chicago. Ballroom was nice for an intimate wedding, but food service was a bit slow during the reception.

A very nice hotel, although it costs a lot however you will be served very well. Every day you get the weather forecast for the next day in the room, and also some sweet treats.
There is also a wonderful rooftop terrace with a great bar and atmosphere, which is especially good for drinking in the evening. There are also some foods that are very good.
All in all a very nice hotel with a great central location in Chicago.

A very beautiful hotel with an excellent location in the heart of Streetorville. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed with exception of the damn ice bucket. The rooftop bar is very nice, beautiful view and a good pour for the money. Park your car yourself using spot hero as parking is about $60 if you do it through the hotel. There’s no pool or exercise facilities, but planet fitness is around the corner and they do give you a voucher for a yoga class if you’re into that thing.

Perfect location, great staff and over all an awesome experience. The rooms are incredible. Our veiw could have been better but that is barely worth mentioning.

Fantastic service! Rooms are sizable and ample, and the showers are pretty great. The daily cookie delivery is a nice, sweet touch. The staff was all very helpful and great to speak with and overall had no issues during my stay. Only downside was that the rooftop bar closed early on a Sunday, wish it was open longer!

Stayed in 2 double bed suites this past weekend. At first we loved it! Thought it was very nice and loved the purple decor. We came for a bachelorette party and had drinks/snacks we wanted to put in our mini fridge. The fridges were sooo small we requested them to come remove the snacks they already had in there to make room for the stuff we brought. When we checked out they then charged us $60 for the food removal. They did NOT tell us they were going to charge us for removi…ng the food. At that point we might as well have just ate the few snacks that were in there. We all hung out in one of the rooms (305 to be exact) in the living room. One of the girls pulled the rug up on accident, but when we did there was soo much trash under it like they hadn't swept it in weeks! There were used q-tips and glass shards on the rug as well. They then came in to clean our room when we asked them not to and had the room service light turned off. $1600 and we couldn't even get a couple paper plates because the place we ordered pizza from shorted us a few. I wouldn't stay here again. Nice decor but that's about it.

Super cute, trendy, large room with separate living room area. Beautiful finishes. Comfortable beds, lower than most. Hotel is in great location. Staff was helpful. Valet is $52 per day. Rooftop closes in inclement weather.

The hotel, spacious, luxurious, and beautiful. All those who worked there were extremely kind and accommodating. The staff even when out of their way for me even after I was gone that in no way could have benefited them. The money that I spent there was rationed and thankfully worth every penny.

This is the worst hotel! I was just threaten by the GM James who doesn't think the safety of his guests are important. I had water leaking all over the floor of my room, called for assistance and they told me to wait until the am. Over week now and I have yet to get this resolved. This hotel is negligent and does not have proper management at all. This don't keep their word and do nothing to ensure their guests actual were safe during their stay.

The ivy is in a great location with top notch nicely decorated rooms. It's 15 a stories with a rooftop bar on the 16th. The rooms are very nice with wood floors and comfortable beds. With only 5 rooms per floor, it is a very quiet hotel.

Wonderful stay. Very simple. I was attending a conference two blocks down. Beautiful Irish pub right down the street. Lovely reception with on time wake up calls. And great breakfast service. Good for a no nonsense practical stay.

I had a bad vibe about this hotel from the very first moment I checked in. At the time of checkout I asked them to look in the room and make sure there was nothing extra I would be charged for. They ended up throwing a charge on my account for a bottle of tequila I never touched. I have pictures of the bottles right before I exited the room and they were still tight and sealed. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here you might end up being in one of their many scams.

The room was great very beautiful! VERY SPACIOUS! I booked the room for my sister and she wasn't allowed to have any guest in the room. My mom and brother couldn't visit my sister because only 2 people were allowed in the room. The room we purchase had a living area and was 600 sq ft in size. Also upon check in on Saturday I asked the concierge what time was check out she replied 11am. I asked if they offer extended checkout she said 12 noon after that there will be a $50 charge. At 11:30 my sister was told she need to check out now else there she will be charged an additional fee. Then at checkout my sister was told she could not sit in the lobby and wait for her Uber because she had bags. For $330/night, customers should be treated better. I will never do business with this hotel and I recommend to others to do the same.

Went for my 21st getaway weekend 1st night was at Hard Rock and 2nd night here. Was super excited to go to different places but after Hard Rock I wasn't expecting too much. Well Ivy blew me away it was sooo cool. Everything. Everything was amazing. There's at least to me this overall romantic and refreshing look to the place and I love it. Next to the front desk there's a cart with 2 different flavored waters. Never had the orange one before so I tried it and loved it. The tech for this place is super cool your card is needed for the elevator in addition to your room which kinda gives you this safe feeling. By the door in there is a button by the switch instead of a piece of paper to let the hotel know if you want housekeeping or to not be disturbed. There is a TV hidden in the bathroom vanity, a large TV in the bedroom area and also a large one in the livingroom area. There is a whole livingroom area that even without you would have plenty of space to spin around and do a cartwheel. The bathroom is cool very spa like and large tub, rain shower and double not single vanity which is something to love. At the little wet bar they have the typical snack and drink set up but then there is a small black book and in it you find you can actually purchase things in the room. The prices are high in my opinion but the fact that you could is still nice to me.

This was my third time staying at this hotel and my last. Upon arriving, the room itself was nice. I noticed the TV did not work so I called down to the front desk. They already knew and had no idea when it would be fixed. Also they did not seem to care or even apologize for the inconvenience. They charge $52 a night for valet. Which didn't bother me, it's the fact that it took them 30-45 minutes to get my car every time I needed it. During checkout (I only have one car and stayed 2 nights) they tried to charge me for 2 cars for 3 nights. Which only increase our wait time for our car so the valet could go look for this imaginary car they thought I had. Also we got 2 drink vouchers from booking with Groupon. That would've been nice if they had an actual bartender. The front desk girl came and made the worst drinks ever. She measured out about a half a shot and the rest a chaser. Also the room next to us was smoking weed. To the point we could smell it just stepping off of the elevator. It wasn't until our last day in Chicago, I was cleaning up the room getting ready for check out when I noticed the hid a letter under a plate in my room. The letter said they were charging us $250 for smoking in the room. We NEVER EVER EVER smoked in the room. I don't smoke weed and was willing to even take a drug test. Also, if they smelled weed smoke why wouldn't have called the police? That way the police could've came into our room and realized it wasn't us.

I enjoyed the room and atmosphere. Check in and out was seamless. Room was clean and fully stocked with toiletries. Booked room through Groupon, so upon arrival I received a voucher for two complimentary drinks at their bar. Will recommend and definitely plan on going back.

Loved The Ivy! Very chic and modern, beautiful room and bathroom with a very comfortable bed. Complimentary fruit water in the lobby was wonderful. My only complaint is that they don't have many people on their valet staff so it can be kind of a long wait but otherwise it was wonderful. I would definitely return.

I checked out the Ivy Sky Terrace at this hotel. It's pretty decent. Another group spot.

We went there for a 50th birthday party on the rooftop. We had a blast! absolutely! loved it there. The waitress we had, she was very nice, on point with the drinks, and food. Thank you! :-) We stayed in the King Suite. It was very very nice! :-) The room service was good, we got a knock on the door, an it was room service bringing us hot fresh cookies to our room. Wow! "That was cool" The bathroom was very nice with a built in television on the mirror, the bedroom was perfect! :-) overall… lovely Stay! :-)

The rooms were nice but manager james cazeres said I was a problem because I wanted another room because my t. V. In bathroom didn't work. He said "I could get another hotel" I could not leave because I was from out of town but did the next day. I was so upset I just left Chicago. Chicago is so beautiful and people were very nice. Do not recommend hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days (Sept 13-16 2014) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I've got to say, we will stay here again! The staff were very friendly! Free Wi-Fi in the room (7th floor). We went to Giordanos and bought some frozen deep dish pizzas to take home and they kept them in their freezer for us. So here's my review, Staff= excellent! Room=awesome! (Bathroom shower…freekin awesome! ) Rooftop bar= very quite, but we enjoyed! Walking distance to mag mile (2blocks) Overall I rate this a 'must stay here if your looking to romance the lady.

Incredible. Best shower I've ever used. Rainfall shower with extra shower detachable shower head. They provide free bath salts for a bath. Literally every comfort of a luxury home.

Our stay was pretty good and the hotel room was extremely clean. The beds and couches were very comfortable and the staff were friendly. The parking valets were less friendly and the $48 price per car per night was unreasonable. The room service food was far overpriced and below average quality. Overall it was a good stay, but the additional costs were obnoxious, more than doubling the price of what we paid for the room.

I really like this hotel. The location is perfect, just two blocks from the miracle mile. The only thing is it's expensive already and everything is going to require a tip (if you don't wanna seem cheap) including the delivery of tiny ice buckets to your room. The valet service was prompt but again, very expensive. The room was comfy and clean and overall I enjoyed the 2 night stay, but I'll probably save this one for very special occasions only.

A fabulous chill rooftop lounge in the heart of Streeterville. This lounge is a Chicago must goto for the summer. It is perfect for any occasion, whether you come for Happy Hour or a special event. We have a lively staff and mouthwatering cocktails. See you there.

The rooftop bar here is terrific. Head upstairs and enjoy the skyline view as you enjoy a drink and appetizers with friends. I liked the Byzantium cocktail.

The most BEAUTIFUL hotel I ever been to. they were so polite and kind to us and we were a very young couple that were out of our element. they were always making sure our room was clean and always quick room service. I loved the tub in the room and it was sooo quite you could not hear the traffic even though IVY is located in the middle of Downtown. I would recommend this hotel anytime. it has great location and everything around it is walking distance especially the navy pier. It was a 10 min walk to get there. if you go to ivy for the first time in Chicago you will definitely fall in love with Chicago and IVY Boutique. it was worth every penny spent.
