Review of DoubleTree 4*

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for the past 5 days, I just returned home tonight and I must say, the experience from start to finish was outstanding. The location is prime. It is within walking distance to all major attractions. We walked everywhere and only took an uber twice, which was at the end of walking an 8 mile day on both occasions. I'm a tough critic when it comes to rating hotels, and I must say this is the best experience I've encountered. From the moment we walked in, we arrived earlier than check in time because we had an early flight in from NY. Erin behind the counter assured us she would have a room ready for us in about an hour. We checked our bags with a wonderful bellman named Antoine. While checking our bags we asked him a good place to eat, and he recommended Timothy OTooles which was conveniently located right across the street. He gave us a 20% off coupon to use there. We went across the street, had an awesome lunch and came back exactly an hour later where Erin pulled through with her promise of getting us a room. We got our warm cookies upon check in (which were absolutely amazing! ) When getting up to our room, everything was fresh and smelt wonderful. The bed was amazingly comfortable, it felt as though I was sleeping on air. (It was very easy to rest my head every night! ) Every morning when we walked out of our room (which, by the way, was on the 16th floor and had an amazing distant view of the water) the housekeeping woman (didn't catch her name) greeted us with a warm smile and a 'have a wonderful day'! If you leave your 'come back later' sign on the door all day long, housekeeping will not approach your room. (As they shouldn't) All you have to do is move the sign back inside when you need your room serviced. (If you want your linens changed more than every 3rd day you need to leave the card next to the bed on the pillows, just an FYI) I read a lot of reviews that the mini bar was sensitive. However, if you don't touch anything, they won't charge you. I bumped into it once and wasn't charged a dime. If you don't touch anything, nothing will be charged! When it came time for us to leave, we noticed a kiosk in the front lobby where you can log in to your airline and check in, as well as print your boarding pass. This feature was absolutely wonderful! We were also able to leave our bags with the bellmen while we walked around for the day because we had a late flight out! A great stay for the entire time. It was a cold week for the end of April and to know that we had a warm friendly safe environment to come to at the end of each day really made it feel like home. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you doubletree staff for your wonderful accommodation.
