Loved our stay here. Rooms were unique and thoughtfully appointed. Stunning views. The service was friendly and professional. The restaurant was excellent. I would stay here again.

I swear. I’ve never stayed anywhere so amazing like this one. The room was incredible comfortable, everything inside was of the best quality possible, and the pool it was just uau! We used it every day during our short stay. And a note about the breakfast: it was perfect, the ingredients, the variety, the service. This was probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed. Wife and I just loved it here. Other topics: the staff help you to get to the hotel if you’re carrying luggage; the location is 5min of every major landmark; the staff is super helpful, had to call to get orientation about how to reach the hotel, and they helped me with a cab company that picked us up — and didn’t over charge us.

We had the most wonderful dinner here on Saturday Oct 11th. Vincenzo and Egidio (the director), took incredible care of us and made it a night to remember!
The views were breathtaking and the food was delicious. We had the ravioli and the veal appetizer and ended the evening with their home made tiramisu. The ambience, music and views combined to make it a beautiful memory for our first night in Matera.

An absolutely exceptional experience! The restaurant at BV Quarry Matera truly impressed us from the very first moment. The atmosphere is stylish and romantic, with a stunning view that makes every dinner feel special.
The food was outstanding – fresh, refined, and prepared with great attention to detail. We especially appreciated the focus on local and seasonal ingredients – you can truly taste the region in every bite. The staff was extremely welcoming, attentive, and warm, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

A Truly Unforgettable Stay.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Their warmth and attention to detail created an atmosphere that felt more like a home than a hotel.
The hotel was immaculate—spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly well organized. The surrounding scenery was absolutely breathtaking, offering the perfect backdrop for a truly relaxing and memorable getaway.
The food was nothing short of incredible—each meal was a delight, with fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes that left us looking forward to every bite.
We’d like to give a special thanks to Maria at the front desk for her kindness and constant support, to Daniele our waiter for his exceptional service and warm personality, and to Egidio, the hotel manager, whose leadership and care were evident in every aspect of our stay. Each of them played a key role in making our experience so special.
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. This hotel set a new standard for hospitality, and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

We had a fantastic dinner here. Marco, Enzo and Frank we just fantastic hosts and the food was superb. Probably on of the best fillet steaks in years. The raw prawn truffle pasta was also delicious. Pasta was fresh and excellent.

The quality of the food in their restaurant was surprisingly good! Same with the view from the bar/restaurant terrace, it was amazing. You could see the caves and the old city! Astonishing!

This resort is stunningly beautiful. As you near the hotel you will be wondering if booking it was a mistake, as all the surroundings are so modern. Matera is built into the hillside so as you approach the hotel from the top plaza, it reveals its true stunning beauty. We stayed in a Jr Suite with pool (think massive jet tub) that is carved into the rock. The bathrooms truly are spa like, and are absolutely huge, with dual showers. The rooms and property are spotless…. Cleanest I have seen in my travels throughout Italy. There are robes and slipper provided and the bed and pillows were extremely luxurious which provided us with amazing nights sleeps.
The rooftop restaurant offers stunning views and a wide assortment of options. The meal we had was excellent. Breakfast is literally in a cave and they cater to pretty much anything you desire. The staff and service overall was top notch, and provided the level of service you would expect from a resort of this calibre.
Overall this was one of the most unique hotel experiences we have ever had. The BV Quarry Resort will not disappoint!

My wife and I booked this restaurant in January 2025. When we arrived there was no table reserved for us. The reservation was lost by thei staff. After showing our email and being totally disappointed to not get a table with a great view. Lorenzo looked at everything and took complete control of the situation. He gave us a great table with the view we wanted. He is really great at his job. The food was out of this world great as was the service we received. On this night we felt special. This place is a must go to. We travel extensively and it a top restaurant for sure.

Went for lunch. Horrible experience, the only thing nice is the view. The chef is incompetent and can’t even get a dish right, for instance our pasta was meant to have sausage and cheese etc, instead we got simple pomodoro, none of the staff noticed that the dish was lacking all the ingredients and we were charged full price. Tourist trap. Avoid.

The first thing I have to mention is that thankfully the staff assists you with your luggage even at 6:15 am! Matera is a series of ups and downs and being high up near the Duomo affords you breathtaking views from the bar and terrace. The room was nice, clean but was not the show stopper. The restaurant and bar staffs were wonderful, the front desk, while very helpful, did not exude that warm feeling that the wait staff did. Overall a great stay and if in Matera again we would definitely return to the quarry.

We ate an early dinner here and watched the sun set — it was truly magical. The wine and small platters were perfect for the time of day and great value for money. Wish we could return…

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The whole of Matera is beautiful. This was a last-minute booking and I’m so happy I did. The rooms are gorgeous. They’re built into the caves. The food restaurant is so good! Unfortunately I didn’t have a lot of time! But can’t wait to return the staff is wonderful and loved that when filming James Bond no time to die they stayed in the hotel! How cool is that! They show you Daniel Craig’s letters and the map of the movie!

We came to the restaurant for lunch based on the reviews. Certainly an extraordinary location, reasonable food but with rushed & very process based service that was not particularly welcoming. Added to this our table on the terrace was instable & half the wine spilled. Instead of refilling the glasses we were repositioned at another table; not an issue in itself but the spilt wine should have been replaced. Not a venue we would recommend for anything other than the photo opportunities.

We had a lovely dinner at the terrace, we had the fish tasting menu and the food really was exceptional.
Dinner was at 8pm which was perfect just after sunset where we could see all the lights come on in Matera.
Would definitely recommend.

Excellent stay in a great position near the highest point of matera so views are fantastic. The rooms are excellent and they are cleaned to perfection. Breakfast is excellent as well. There is a roof terrace which unfortunately since it was windy we could not do dinner but it is fantastic with best views and the staff are outstanding so all up very good stay.

Matera is a stunning town, but my experience at Quarry Resort truly elevated my trip. From the moment we arrived, we were met with exceptional service. The staff and management were incredibly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure my comfort and enjoyment.
The resort itself is a marvel. Carved into the ancient Sassi caves, it seamlessly blends history with modern luxury. The location couldn't be better — situated right in the heart of the action, yet offering a tranquil escape.
Overall, my stay at Quarry Resort was nothing short of exceptional. The top-notch service, delicious food, breathtaking views, and perfect location make it the ideal place to experience the wonders of Matera. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and unforgettable vacation, and I look forward to coming here again when visiting Matera.
