Restaurant in a very special location. In a small and cozy court. Well-prepared traditional foods. Unfortunately our table was close to a manhole that smelled not very welcome. Prices a bit high.

In the heart of Sasso Caveoso, exquisite corner of Matera. The rooms, all with independent entrance, overlook a delightful "courtyard". Extremely clean and spacious rooms. Furniture a bit spartan but functional; essential to stay on the subject with the context of the Sassi. Price more than honest. To improve breakfast, I would only add more variety of choice. It is also very convenient to reach by car, to easily unload your luggage. Staff extremely helpful. Recommended.

Great cave rooms, in a great location. The staff was very helpful before I arrived and while I was there.

Near the twelve moons — typical dwelling within the Sassi of Matera, reconstruction of the 20s, carved into the rock with communicating caves. From the cellar at the bottom, climbing the barn x the animals and tools x work the fields. And in the end the center of the house beds, frame and hearth… So much moisture.

Nice place, room type cave Materana well clean and well-arranged, very cozy. You have to get used to the many scales (for me).

In the centre of Matera, a restaurant with a delicate cuisine with special dishes and a wide selection of wines. The location makes it the perfect place for a dinner for two.

Very nice restaurant and ideal for a romantic dinner with your partner. Tasty dishes and average prices. Great selection of wines. Located in the old town between the Sassi.

Tough to find but worth it. No parking and lots of winding steps. Great rooms, service, views in the middle of the historic center.

My husband and I ate at this quaint little restaurant one August evening during our mini honey moon… it's a bit inconvenient to get there if you have kids because, as per the city's characteristic, there are many ups and downs. But it deserves to arrive in the courtyard among the stones of Matera and be pampered also by the impeccable service. Good food, my husband took the lamb, because I don't cook it, and he loved it. A tip to the chef, I would take care a little more the preparation of the side dishes. Especially aubergines. Otherwise all great. We recommend the restaurant!

If you could give 0 I would have done it. Rudeness,. I arrived in Matera I immediately took a distortion in the holes that are in the center. I couldn't walk anymore. I had paid for two at the restaurant. Besides the fact that they have no way of bringing people up to the restaurant (I mean people with problems). They have no solutions. My husband asked at least to bring some lunch from transportation, reiterate was all paid for. They did not want absolutely. I'il never come back. I recommend anyone. Without education. 0 stars. I expected more from such a place.

A delightful simple place to rest in the middle, literally, of old Matera. Attended by loving folks that treat you more like family than tourists. This real place honors the past without pretension. We'll visit again if only to greet Chiara. Tell her hi for us.

Carefully thought and very nice accommodation. The only improvement can be made with more electrical sockets available.

In the sassi, just metres from the Cathedral, a perfect place to stay in the charming town of Matera. Cleanliness, rooms carved into the rock, the friendliness of the staff and the breakfast they made my weekend indimenticabile.

At the time of booking I had spoken of a typical appetizer of the twelve moons, two servings of first, second and dessert.
I asked to specify what was the starter and they told me not to worry as was typical of the place and contemplated several courses.
It wasn't like there were tasteless and boiled vegetables and a slice of ham and a slice of bresaola. I complained and then while we were eating the first of brought an added small appetizer.
But the rest had no flavor and insufficient.

I went to lunch on Easter Monday, didn't eat well at all.
The portions were scarce and insipid. We will return for sure.

All of those stairs are very well worth the walk. If you are in Matera you must stay here. The 'caves' are phenomenal (not to mention architecturally cool) and the view from the second 'floor' is to die for as the fog clears! If you don't have dinner here head up the street to I Due Sassi Trattoria.
