Corte dei Venti

I went on a spontaneous trip to Matera and booked into this B&B as I wanted to live in the middle of the Sassi di Matera and I´m so happy I chose this place!. The placement is right in the middle of the old town with a gorgeous view, both a day time and during the night. It´s easy to get to from the closest road where taxis/cars or buses can drive. The room was really nice, all with different personalities, clean and it´s clear that the owners want to give it it´s own personality with arty gadgets and cute small details. And it´s just off the worst tourist route so you can feel relaxed here. Its a short walk to everything (Lot´s of steps though). The view from the terrace is as I said quite spectacular with both the Sassi, sunrise and the caves on the other side of the valley.
Was supposed to stay 2 nights but extended it one more since I loved it so much. And much of that is because of the exceptional service, help and friendliness of the owner, must be the best host I encountered in ages :-D Helped so much before I arrived, during and when I was about to leave. Felt really welcome here and would recommend this cute, small quirky B&B for all it´s worth :-D.

Located in the historic sassi. Walk carrying bags required up cobbled stairs. Room was spacious. Shared kitchen and terrace lovely view and friendly owners.
