Kampi Hotel Tunjungan - Surabaya

After several visits to Surabaya, this is my first stay here. Although this hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, it seems to be designed for people on business trips. Its strategic location in the Tunjungan area makes it a quieter and more suitable place to unwind after work. In the morning, you can do light exercise like jogging or simply take a leisurely stroll around the park.
The building itself is relatively new, having opened in December 2018.
The rooms are well-maintained, with complete amenities for a 3-star hotel. The breakfast menu is delicious, with a wide selection and a wide variety.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
This will definitely be a recommended place for future visits to Surabaya.

Kampi Hotel Tunjungan has an exceptionally strategic location, especially for guests who enjoy exploring the city on foot. It is within walking distance to Grahadi State Building, the iconic Tunjungan Street with its wide variety of cafés and local street food, as well as Tunjungan Plaza.
The room quality was beyond my expectations—very comfortable, well-designed, and thoughtfully maintained. The noise level was impressively low, allowing for a peaceful and restful stay. Amenities were more than complete, exceeding what is typically provided and adding great value to the overall experience.
Overall, Kampi Hotel Tunjungan offers excellent comfort, convenience, and quality, making it a highly recommended choice when staying in Surabaya.

I had a very pleasant stay at Kampi Hotel Surabaya today. From the moment I arrived, the service was excellent and truly made a positive impression. I would like to give special appreciation to Mr. Gilang, whose professionalism, friendliness, and attentiveness greatly enhanced my experience. His service was outstanding and made me feel very well taken care of.
I also enjoyed the buffet at APS3 Restaurant. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and offered a satisfying variety. The quality and taste of the dishes exceeded my expectations and added great value to my stay.
Overall, my experience at Kampi Hotel Surabaya was excellent. Great service, comfortable atmosphere, and enjoyable dining. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

After a long and tiring 3D trip covering Bromo and Ijen, our stay at Kampi Hotel Surabaya was exactly what we needed. The hotel felt incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to unwind after our journey.
Every staff member we interacted with was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Service was prompt and consistently excellent throughout our stay.
The food deserves a special mention — it was absolutely awesome with a great variety to choose from. During breakfast, Chef Mr. Irfan personally visited our table and made sure we were well taken care of and fully satisfied. As tourists, he showed genuine interest in getting to know us, explained the ingredients of the dishes, shared his recommendations, and even talked briefly about Surabaya’s history and local culture. That personal touch made the experience truly memorable.
This stay didn’t feel like just another hotel — it felt warm, thoughtful, and truly special. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Kampi Hotel to anyone visiting Surabaya.

The staff at this hotel is excellent. A special, HUGE “thank you” to Rince at reception for helping us above and beyond our expectations! The rooms are small but comfortable and well maintained—the hotel was modern and seemingly new. We had an issue with the air con which was addressed immediately. The breakfast offered bountiful choices, and special thanks there to the manager Yogi for patiently explaining the multitudinous (15! ) choices of specialty coffees and steering us toward the gluten-free options. The location was within a 10 minute walk to most things to-do, in a clean, safe neighborhood. A small but sufficient gym was nice to use. All-in-all an excellent stay. We already booked a return visit. Only issue we had was inconsistent Wi-Fi but this is so common in Indonesia that, to be fair, we never complained about it.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a generally pleasant experience. The room was clean, spacious, and appeared quite new, which made for a comfortable stay. The location is also very convenient, within walking distance to fast food outlets, street food vendors, and a nearby convenience store.
The staff were polite and courteous throughout my stay. When I reported that the air conditioning wasn’t cold enough, someone from the hotel came up to check it within five minutes, which I really appreciated.
However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The hotel only has two elevators servicing 16 floors, and they were quite slow, especially during peak hours. Additionally, there’s a bar right next door that plays loud music almost every night, which might be an issue for light sleepers. It’s also worth noting that there’s no fridge in the room, which could be inconvenient for some guests.
Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if you’re looking for a clean, new hotel in a convenient location, but be aware of the potential noise and elevator delays.

I'm staying here for a week and suffice to say I have a wonderful experience staying here. I got a chance to meet Chef Irfan — he's super friendly, warm, and goes above and beyond to customized our stay and dining experience!

For Chef, it's delightful to see someone who really cares about the customer — asking feedback about the stay, making sure all our needs are met. I truly have a great time staying here despite the freezing cold room. 🥶
The surroundings area of this hotel also wonderful, close to Tunjungan Plaza (most popular mall), and easy walking distance to TGC cafe (popular coffee shop).

One of 3 star hotel at Surabaya city, the location strategic, good vibes and excellent service from the staff. Breakfast was good, everything are good, clean room, cozy and feel comfort as well. There are so many food store arround hotel, near from one of big mall at Surabaya as well. The front liner are friendly and give good service during stay make me feel like stay at home. One again I truly appreciate to front liner teamcause they are give me warm hospitality and excellent service.

Kampi Surabaya is an excellent choice for travelers wanting to stay in the center of Surabaya. Its location is unbeatable — directly opposite Grahadi (the East Java Governor’s Official Residence), and within easy walking distance to Tunjungan Plaza, Tunjungan Street, and Alun-Alun Surabaya. There are also plenty of dining options just steps away.
The hotel interiors offer a charming retro-classic style, with wooden panels and tasteful semi-classic profiles that create a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. I stayed in the Suite Room (their highest room category), facing Grahadi. The room was spacious, cozy, and great value — under 1 million IDR (approximately 70 USD), which is rare for such a prime location.
However, the soundproofing left much to be desired. From the 15th floor, I could still hear traffic noise and sounds from adjacent rooms. For light sleepers, I highly recommend requesting a room facing away from Grahadi and Tunjungan Street to minimize disturbances.
Despite the noise issue, Kampi Surabaya delivers fantastic value with its stylish accommodation and unbeatable location in bustling Surabaya.

The only downside? Soundproofing is pretty bad. I could hear cars outside and noise from the next room even though I was on the 15th floor. If you're a light sleeper like me, definitely ask for a room facing away from Grahadi/Tunjungan Street.
Overall, awesome value for the location and style — just bring some earplugs if you're sensitive to noise!

Great little hotel that punches above its weight for a mere 3 star facility. What it lacks in amenities (pool, bar etc) it makes up for with the excellent staff and the fantastic central location.
A little more thought could go into the bathroom, with nothing to contain water splashing off you and the shower walls to saturate the very slippery tiled floor. Also, there was no extraction fan in the bathroom so the mirror and walls fogged up immediately.
The breakfast was ordinary at best, but we stayed during Ramadan so breakfast options were plain and quite basic. Also, be prepared to pay Rp30, 000 for your morning coffee.
In the evening (particularly during Ramadan), the evenings come alive with local street food carts and Warung providing ample delicious food.
Shopping in the enormous Tunjungan Plaza is a short walk across the main road with a pedestrian bridge provided so one can avoid taking your life into your own hands negotiating the insane traffic.
Fun fact: We knew the location was in the same area where my wife and I had our wedding reception 32 years ago, but upon talking with the reception staff, we discovered the hotel was built in 2018 on the very site where the event took place. Nostalgia at its best.
All up, despite the 3 star rating, I’m happy to give a solid 8/10

Likewise, the cleanliness of the hotel is commendable, and all the staff at this hotel are friendly.
As for the dishes served, they are very good, both in taste and variety. Moreover, the Head Chef is very friendly and consistently maintains the quality of the dishes served to guests, and is also friendly when engaged in conversation.

If you're looking for a comfortable and value for money stay then look no further. It is located near the big mall and offers great connection to the rest of the city. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast selection was great.
The only negative would be no fridge and no view from the room.

It's really delicious to eat here, the menu is very varied and the staff is very friendly from the service team to security… and it is located in the middle of the city so it is very easy to find this place…

Kampi has been my 1st choice for business trip to Surabaya for the last 2 years. The facilities are well-maintained and room cleanliness has alway been at high level. The best thing about Kampi is the kitchen. Chef and the crews are consistent in keeping the quality, taste and variety of foods. Excellent overall experience!

Visited just for business purpose. Had a meeting with for a day here. Room was spacious and well prepared. The dining place had a very nice view, clean, with a good amount of food varieties.
