We stayed at the Sheraton Ottawa for my 40th Birthday. The staff were amazing and the beds were very comfortable. They surprised me with a special treat to enjoy along with a Birthday card! We were treated so well. We had club access to the lounge, it was beautifully decorated and relaxing. The food in the lounge at happy hour and breakfast was fantastic! We orderd room service for dinner, they came in and set us up with our very own private table. The food at the Carlton Grill was excellent! The staff we on point and so friendly! I couldn't have had a better 40th Birthday. Thank you Sheraton Ottawa we are looking forward to our next staycation!

Cozy place to stay at, rooms are sparkling clean, services are satisfying indeed.

Front desk staff are amazingly courteous & knowledgeable people. Very friendly.

And most likely its clean and smell fresh and affordable hotel gret place to rest and have fun.

Sasha’s Bar is fun. Bartenders are super friendly and guests are interesting. They’ve had Lady Gaga, Mr Spock (impersonator), various politicians.

Hotel is very clean, the room is perfect and the staff is awsome. 10/10 experience.

My room is beautiful, they let me do early check in, I got locked out and someone came right away to let me in. All staff are just so polite and friendly, they make u feel like they are just here for you. Wonderful service! I will definitely be back!

Phenomenal staff in a good central location. For the price point, you can’t do better. Great lounge with nice food options on the top floor and comfortable and clean rooms. Only a few blocks from the action on the other side of the river and has plenty of walkable options with sparks street close by.

Location was great! Rooms were clean and spacious. Employee's were helpful and responsive. Worth the price for what you get compared to other hotels on the same street. Lots of restaurants near by and entertainment, close to parliament hill and spark street, all you need near by.

Nice hotel. No parking available for full sized trucks though. Had to leave my truck on the street and tipped a homeless woman $10 to keep an eye on it. She panhandlers the east side of the building. They are also doing construction on the north street, the side my room happened to be on so the was jackhammers going from 8am to 6pm.

Nothing overly special about the rooms but it was quiet in the staff were great. It is also an absolutely amazing location which is really close to Parliament and Nifty little Street full of shops and restaurants and whatnot. Highly recommended due to price and location friendly staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while in town for the Bluesfest. The rooms were very clean and has everything we needed and more. The gym was very well equipped, and the salt water pool was nice and warm. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which was a cut above the typical hotel buffet. I would definitely return and recommend the Sheraton to my friends and family if ever they are heading to Ottawa for an overnight stay!

Cons: My experience here was not the greatest to say the least. The staff did not treat us very well… especially the server in the restaurant. He said a few comments that were outright disrespectful and even had a few negative political things to say about the US which was not needed since we were from there. Pros: The location is great and it was easy to get to the places we wanted. The bar also had a great selection of drinks.

Attended for half marathon event. The hotel provide course maps, free water bottles, and snacks (fruit and snack bars) for all guests. This was a nice touch of a hotel making local events better. Room was nice and clean and staff was helpful and friendly.

Nice mid-range hotel. The rooms have been recently updated and are very clean and the staff were all really friendly. My only gripe is that the bathrooms could use a bit of an update as they are a bit old school when compared to the bedrooms.

I've stayed here a few times and always been impressed by the clean rooms and great customer service. Great location within walking distance to the Byward Market, Bank street shops, Parliament and the World Exchange Plaza etc.

Great breakfast.

The hotel is very well located. It’s right in the middle of downtown within walking distance of the Parliament and nearby memorials/museums. It’s also next to spark street, where you can find restaurants and bars in a nice pedestrian road. The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are big and clean. It has a small indoor pool and gym. The breakfast is not included, and they don’t have microwaves in the room. They also have a small fridge, but without the small freezer compartment.

This place has good service, from the time you show up and drop your vehicle off to the time you leave. I was there for a conference and the environment was great! Room was clean, food was good, both breakfast and dinner.

I didn't sleep here but I was there for a conference. Also for the restaurant because they were the only place open to eat at 10pm. Walking distance from a lot of places like the mall and the parliament building. Friendly staff and I didn't wait too long for my food at the restaurant. The food is great from the restaurant to it being catered at the conference, the staff kept everything clean and tidy. The bathroom has lotion :P also very clean.

Absolutely love it. Been here a few times and it has been better with each visit. The food from the restaurant is actually good… the front staff are nice and service orientated.

Great hotel, centrally located. This is my go to place to stay when I participate in the Army Run. Rooms have always been clean and well kept when I have stayed. Breakfast is good, and the hotel bar is a nice quiet place to relax.

Very nice facilities with great stuff. The Hotel a centrally located downtown and features a very nice Starwood Lounge. It's convenient to just about everything.

It's a very nice hotel. Short distance to Parliament Hill and Byward market. Club room is nice (no free alcohol) but breakfast is nice and so were apps. Rooms are updated but still some older elements that make the renovation more noticeable. Feels new in areas and like a 1970s hotel in others. All around for location and price you can't really beat it.

Such a magnificent experience! I was at the Sheraton for a two day training event and was managing the event. Throughout the full 20 hours, it was necessary I communicate with many of the hotel staff. With each person on their team, I had a great experience. They provided excellent support and were so friendly and always ready to help me with solutions to any challenge that arose. At one point I had to borrow cutlery for personal use and got to see more of the hotel, it was fascinating and I just fell in love with how well the team flowed within the hotel. The structure and decor is also wonderful. It's all very welcoming and warm and clean and lovely. Overall a terrific venue and team to be partnered with and I look forward to my next experience with them.

A beautiful hotel with a beautiful swimming pool.

The rooms are clean and have good amenities. The fitness room is decent with an indoor pool next to it. It lacks a pull-up bar but has free weights. The location is pretty good if you want to walk down to some of the prominent areas of downtown Ottawa. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay due to the friendly staff and excellent service.

On December 6, I attended a meeting in the penthouse meeting room, which is incredible with half glass ceiling, offering a nice view. Food was great, too. They removed the coffee a bit early and some participants did not get coffee by the time they finished their dinner.

Rooms are clean. Good service. Not much for views from my room. I assume there are rooms with better views other than alley and buildings. Good location.

Great staff and service that’s conveniently located at the heart of downtown Ottawa. Recently went through a reno so the place was freshened up a bit. Fairly large sized rooms with decent amenities. Especially like the SPG lounge and the hot breakfast!

Older Sheraton albeit with recently remodeled rooms. Service is quite friendly and location is convenient for business travellers. Hotel could use some investment to modernize. The nearby Delta arguably offers better value (especially since both are now part of Marriott)

Great place to stay in Ottawa. Close to everything you want to see our do. Room was spacious, will laid out, and very comfortable. Staff were very very and helpful, made our stay very stress-free. Will definitely be back!

We had our wedding at the hotel last month and we are extremely satisfied with the services we received. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive, accommodating and helped us in each step of the stressful planning for the wedding. We were given a free honeymoon suite with champagne and a delectable dessert tray to celebrate our new life together. We loved the room and ended up extending our stay for another night.

Room was "roomy", no narrow areas where you feel like you are on top of each other. Also had everything you need, even small things like lots of hangars. Bathroom had a low rise tub so it was easy to enter. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, which made it stay much easier. Location is easy to get to and is close to everything anyone would want to see. Great stay for, thanks!

Clean, very well located = Quick access to Parliament. He's. Is a bit of a walk to the restaurants and shopping center the area. I put 2 stars because the housekeeper did not pass to clean the room. She said she didn't have time! The breakfast buffet cost more or less $22/person, but it was very basic! No varieties!

I asked how much a hotel was, they said 240. So I walked outside told my friends and we agreed that was good. By the time I walked back in (under a minute) the price was suddenly an extra 50 dollars… But it was a nice room nonetheless.

I was only there for a two-hour conference. The place was as always in excellent condition for the Fall conference. Adequate area and impeccable service.

Antiquated rooms and washrooms. Restaurant food was not great at all. Fake bacon bits and store bought croutons. The night I checked in there was road construction with Jack hammering from 9pm on. When I requested another room I was put on the same side of the bldg. When I went down again, they said no rooms available. Then magically after talking to the manager there was one. The hotel staff said they didn't know about the construction. Yet when I walked by it in the morning, it was obviously going on for a while. The hotel is vastly overpriced for the rooms and amenities.

Clean rooms, great location, walking distance to all the major attractions for visitors. Staff are friendly and professional. The only thing I didn't like is the mandatory valet parking as I prefer to park my own car and have quick access to it without having to ask someone to bring it out.

Hotel is dated and in need of renovations. I found the drain in the shower slow and water pressure was quite low. On the positive side, the room was clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. The gym is fairly well appointed. My room was right across from the elevator but I rarely heard elevator traffic.

Very clean and comfortable, the beds are comfortable, close to everything in the heart of the city.

Bed is cozy & pillows are so soft. Loved that the pool stayed open till midnight. Easy to walk to many places. Update: I received my bill, via email & notice that I was charged $1.25 +. 14 HST to make a local call, we ordered food to be delivered. I have never been charged for local calls before. I know the valve is not high but I was surprised to see this little charge on my bill. If they want to get that petty I could start telling people about the aweful cleaning job done in our room. My son even mentioned it to the front desk when we were checking out.

Friendly, informative, attentive staff! Clean, spacious room. Well equipped fitness room! Kids loved the pool! Restaurant food was yummy. Beds from heaven! Best sleep ever!

Nice hotel, clean, close to everything. But, an old-fashioned bathroom with no ventilation. And film at $18,? It's too much.

The service here is amazing we have returned two years running and will visit again. The desk staff is wonderful and Oliver was particularly helpful during our trip. The beds are amazing and we got a fantastic nights sleep. Ian and Artem of the Club Level Breakfast and Dinner staff are the best, they should be held as the examples for all Sheraton hotel club staff. I give them the highest recommendation possible and think anyone staying in Ottawa will enjoy staying in this establishment.

Clean, quiet room. Good choices for breakfast buffet (including Executive Level buffet). Fabulous dinner, better than many restaurants I've been forced to eat in for client visits. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or book again when in the area. Lots of nearby restaurants if you want to go out.

I went there for a professional meeting. The place is clean and well laid out. The employees are obviously very helpful.
I can not judge the comfort of the rooms since I did not house.

I am an SPG Gold level member. They provided a friendly greeting and I had upgraded to the club lounge. By far this hotel has the best club lounge food offerings I've experienced (beyond crackers/veggies and cheese). Good hot options. Same for breakfast — may not have been bacon but the croissants and eggs were yummy. Hotel being renovated and I was on a Reno floor — although the bathroom still looked original from the 80's (so maybe not a Reno'd floor? ). But I look at location and comfort — not decor. So I was fine with the room. My only issue was the elevators were slow — but that was due to the Reno. So minor issue. Location and staff were great and I'd definitely stay here (in a club room) again.

Traveled here few weeks ago for business and will not returning back for any business or leisure. I had witnessed an incident that I now regret on not immediately taking action for. The incident involved on what I would believe was between the housekeeping supervisor belittling and yelling at one of her housekeepers on duty. I am disgusted. How can such an establishment not be aware of this type of behaviour? Perhaps this is how they operate. No matter what the issue was, a supervisor should never speak to her team in such a manner, especially with guests in ear distance! This is unacceptable behaviour and should not be tolerated in today's workplace where there is ZERO tolerance for this behaviour! I hope that this supervisor is fired for this! Unacceptable. Will NOT be spending my (company's) money at such an establishment that allows this type of behavior.

Been having Mother's Day brunch for theast 10 years. Great food, great atmosohere.

I visited the Sheraton recently to take a course which took place in the penthouse area. Overall, the layout was conducive to listening and learning, and the snack and lunch provided was of good quality. The penthouse also has lots of windows that get lots of sunlight which really helps at training courses. As well, I found the staff to be courteous and helpful, and the location is conveniently located downtown.

Clean, excellent staff… no one to grab you a taxi though.

My wife and I stayed in Ottawa to get away for our anniversary and the staff was great. Brought us wine and snacks at night and the place was great. I'd recommend it for the location as well — easy to walk around downtown Ottawa.

I didn't stay over night. However the lobby is really beautiful and the food was really good.

Room was ready when I checked in at 11am. Very clean. Staff was very friendly and professional as well as helpful! Would definitely recommend.

Upon checking in we were not informed that the televison system was not working. This was at 2PM. Upon asking when we left to explore we were told they were working on it. We returned and went for a swim and at 7:30 were back in our room and it was still not working. I called the front desk and was told it should be good between 10-11. We were offered premium Wi-Fi, although it is already free. I requested a free movie instead as we were there as a family. After checking into this we were told we could order one free movie, which we did. When we woke up, TV was still down. I feel we should have been informed of this upon check in, with the offer of something in exchange for the inconvenience. Room was by elevator and was loud in the morning. Room was nice but dated. Unless there is a good deal, will not return.

So awesome staff. Booked wrong day and was able to fix it at the hotel. Rooms are good and very close to parliament. Valet parking guys where so nice I was mildly frightened.

We stayed at the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel on the Easter weekend. We were very impressed with the employees and the accommodations. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. The room was immaculately clean, large and very comfortable. We've rarely slept so well on a hotel bed! The breakfast buffet was 2nd to none — fresh, hot and full of delicious and nutritious choices. We would stay here again in a heart beat! We've paid twice the price at another hotel and not been as happy — we highly recommend this hotel :).

“Great Experience! Pet Friendly! ” Last weekend we decided to trek from Montreal to Ottawa to spend a relaxing weekend visiting the sights with the kids. The minute we pulled up to the Sheraton we noticed how clean and well maintained the exterior was, it felt luxurious. First of all, the location of this hotel is PERFECT! If you have smaller kids, my boys are 6-8, their legs are smaller and if you are coming to see the sights expect to walk allot! This Hotel was the best location you could ask for by far! Two blocks from Parliament, 15 minutes walk to Byward Market, 15 minutes walk to Museum of Nature. Great great spot :) We had decided to bring along our dog for the first time in 5 years. We'd heard of friends bringing their pets but we always thought it would be a hassle! This was so false, from the minute we entered the lobby with the dog everyone was very friendly. Upon our check in, when I mentioned we were travelling with a pet, they were so gracious. They asked if we needed a dog bed, dishes, and pooper scooper bags! As for the rooms, super clean, very well appointed and the BED OMG the BED. It's not even normal to sleep so well in a hotel room! Even my two boys aged 6-8 had an amazing sleep on the floor because they provided extra down duvets! We asked for extra covers for our boys, well, the asked our room attendant to bring them to us and she went above and beyond the call of duty! She put down mattress pads, duvet covers, sheets, goose feather pillows.

Nice clean room, BUT several issues including 1. Very poor, inconsistent internet access, which made work very unproductive and frustrating. 2. Television intermittently lost sound and picture. 3. We called the concierge to ask the valet to have our car ready for 9am one morning (it was too tall for their garage, so was parked elsewhere) and the message was never passed along to the valet. As a result we were 15min late.

It is very expensive. It does not include anything. The parking and breakfast are charged separately. It is very old, from the time of my grandmother.

Only small negative points: A little expensive and sometimes kitsch décor.

The network speed is so slow. The room's insulation is not good.

Why is this hotel so expensive? These hotel rooms look straight out of the 70's, the valet parking is extremely annoying, and the poor service here makes me feel like a customer, not a guest. I could have stayed at a super 8 for a quarter of the price of this place, but I didn't because I expected quality. I certainly didn't receive it and will never be back here.

The parking situation is abhorable, you must do valet at $25, no other option available. I was here on business and needed to get to my car and use it often so it was quite annoying. It's an aged hotel so not worth the price. There are many other options.

Good pricing for a downtown, centrally located hotel. Easy to get to and from. Beware the parking situation however, $22 per day if you want to use the valet under the hotel, otherwise you need to find a public lot elsewhere. Staff are very friendly and rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. Overall excellent value for the price.
