Have been staying in hotels for work going on 12 years now. During Covid this hotel is still the best. I have never said before that all the hotel employees are exceptional. I'm saying it now. All the way up to management at this place. Everyone was extremely polite and went above and beyond. My stay was for 2 months. They made it feel like home. I hope I have the opportunity to stay there again. Great experience coming to Canada. Much of it was due to the staff at this Marriott location. John Cummings.

From my check in to checkout I had not met 1 staff who had a smile on. Except for one of the valet guys who's name I forgot to ask. He was the only one who was nice. I felt like I was not upto their "standards" of marriott guests or something. I didnt feel as welcomed as I have at other marriott hotels. I had previously booked a room at andaz ottawa but when I saw a room available at marriott I canceled andaz and booked at marriott instead and I wish I hadn't. Was there for my anniversary and wasn't happy.

Clean comfortable rooms, great staff and views.

We stayed in this hotel one night and we enjoyed our stay. Room is decent in its size. They offered complimentary water bottles and there’s a safe there. What I’m most impressed is the swimming pool has a lifeguard and she did measured the water sampling every hour. Pool is OK and kids have lots of fun! I also like the restaurant inside the hotel and the adjacent Starbucks which makes everything so convenient.

Excellent service at the front desk and exceptional food. Quiet rooms and excellent internet service. Best place to stay in Ottawa!

I love the Downtown Marriott! The service is always fantastic, the rooms are bright, clean and spacious. The bed is highly comfortable and the hallways quiet for a great night of sleep! Great value for your money!

Rooms were clean but a bit out dated. Place was flooded with teens who were annoying and made the pool unusable. We were by the elevator and could hear it working during peak hours. There were dirty dishes outside our room, like right outside on floor and again on table, but I called and they were promptly removed. Beds were comfy and we slept well. They kept the bathroom clean and well stocked with conditioner, shampoo, etc. The employees were friendly and helpful, my husband forgot his shirt there and they found it and are shipping it to us. Overall a decent place for the price.

Great location off Sparks St, friendly staff, and the rooms are always clean and spacious. The bar is opened till 2am. There is an indoor pool and a gym. The gym is decently equipped, however there is never enough airflow in there. The hotel is always full and busy but everyone seems to be having a good time. Good job to the whole team!

Beautiful hotel. Rates are very reasonable. The staff here is so friendly and hooked us up with a corner balcony room upon request and gave us a surplus of information about the city. It's clean and well kept. We will definitely be back again!

Location was extremely convenient to get to. Even though it was Canada day it was very easy to get parked. Room was okay, however there was nothing special about it. We were in a standard king bed room, couch and small table. We had a great view of parliament and the fireworks on Canada day. The sliding door was extremely stiff and nearly impossible to close after opening. Parking and breakfast both were not included, but aside from those small downs the overall stay was nice.

Love the hotel. Very good for kids! There’s a great room with many games (ping pong, air hockey, etc. ), there’s another room for the little ones. Kids are a priority here, very good surprise. Gym is big, I had plenty of space to do my yoga. Pool isn’t very big, but my child had much fun. There’s a Starbucks connected and pretty much everything you might need around. Best location!

Really nice location next to Parliament. Tons of great local eateries a short walking distance away. The front desk and lounge staffhave been friendly and helpful. My room was on Ann upper level so a great view.

Decent rooms. Recreational amenities are somewhat lacking and old, though the pool seemed fairly well maintained. A warning: if you are booking this hotel for the Ottawa marathon, do not expect them to give a late check-out on race day. Not only did they deny us that (but oddly allowed others a late check-out) they also didn't offer any accomodations for my wife after she finished her race. We would not book here for a race again and likely not for anything else.

Great location close to parliament buildings. It was nice to have a room with a balcony overlooking the parliament buildings. This was chosen by the guest services attendant after we mentioned it was our anniversary, which was great however she also mentioned the lounge would be included as well so we went for breakfast and they didn't have our room on the list so that was a bit awkward. I feel like the bathrooms could be upgraded to walk in showers.

All the staff were very professional and carefully reads your mood. The front desk noticed what kind of stressful event happen to our group recently and kindly gave us Starbucks coupons which isn't much but at the time the thought of it was very much appreciated and gave us a better mood moving forward. At the same time the rooms are very nice, heck even the cleaners we're super nice!

I had already had a room in the corner and it was great. This time I got a room in front of the elevator. So noisy! We're waiting for everything. There's at least 1 cm between the bottom of the door and the floor. It's a big problem. We also wait a lot for the elevator to go up and down.

Great for the kids! Pool and kids area was perfect. Clean and friendly staff. Right near parliament and good eats, so no need to eat in the hotel.

Rooms are great. View is wonderful if you are lucky to be up higher. Concierge Lounge is dated and disappointing, definitely not up to the level of the newer lounges being installed around the country.

Located just steps from the parliament buildings and about a 10 minute walk to Byward Market. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. All staff provided excellent service.

Nice location and friendly staff at the reception. There is a swimming pool, training room and conference rooms. I personally did not like the lack of access to the stairs (justifiable by the fact that there are > 25 floors) as well as the continental breakfast very poor for a group of more than 100 people.

Stay here regularly for business. Consistently clean, very comfortable, quiet and excellent staff. The gym is well above those available in almost any other hotel you'll stay at. Reasonably sized pool and the kids I see in it seem to have fun. Games room for the kids as well. Centrally located for tourist or business needs.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel room was spotless and comfortable. We had 2 small kids that loved the pool and kids room. We will definitely return as well as stay at other Mariott hotels.

Comfortable hotel located in downtown Ottawa. The bed is very comfortable. And the Wi-Fi is included in the price of the room. The price is average. The staff are courteous and efficient.
There's a restaurant on the premises. There is also a Starbucks. And there is a paid indoor parking I would recommend this hotel. I'm never disappointed with this channel.

Beautifully located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. It has a beautiful Lower Level bar/restaurant. Friendly staff and the view is spectacular of the city. 4 out of 5s.

Familly of four, kids ages 3 and 6. First hotel we checked into was the Travel Lodge just off of Carling. What an awful place. Dirty, outdated, a right slum. We checked in at 4pm and we were checked out by 9pm. We then contacted the Ottawa Marriott downtown and asked if they had room. They did and we were there and checked in by 9:30pm. Upon arrival we were treated like royalty. Checked into our room, it was clean and proper. They way it should be. A knock at our door. Wife answers. It's the concierge, he's brought us two beers on ice along with some snacks complimentary as they've heard of our fiasco at the previous hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Ottawa downtown core. Steps away from the Byward Market and Parliament. Steps away from our country's top museums.

This is a great place to stay. From my room I could see the Parliament Buildings. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and roomy. Great place to relax. The food in the restaurant was very good. Excellent service all around. Would stay here again.

Great experience! Check in was fast and efficient as always and all the staff was incredibly kind (at check in, the waiters at the restaurant, and the concierge service. ) The beds are comfy, most of the rooms are large, a little dated, but if you are lucky, you can get an awesome view! The hotel is very well situated. Their restaurant serves great food options for everyone to enjoy and the prices are great as well. (They even have a build your own salad option which I absolutely love! ) All in all, great experience!

Our hotel stay was great. We were here for 3 nights/4 days for a hockey tournament. Very clean, comfortable room. Plenty of amenities. Close to Parliament buildings and Spark street. Very friendly and accommodating.

When I drove to Ottawa from Toronto I was exhausted, mostly due to hotel issues the night before in Toronto (by a different hotel company). Pulling right up to the hotel and their drive — I was greeted nicely by the valet and he helped me get my friend and I's luggage out and gave us a ticket to keep. We traveled into the lobby which was bright and nicely decorated. When I went up to the front desk the man behind the desk gave me the choice of what room view I wanted the River or the Parliament building. I asked what he would choose and he told me the river, therefore I went with the river view. When my best friend and I got to our room — we were so excited it was a corner room as well as having a balcony with a great view. We could overlook the river which was awesome during sunset and great to look at in the morning. Keep in mind a lot of the nightlife in Ottawa takes place in Bayward Market and this hotel is located in the Financial District. The service when we were checking out was as smooth as it was checking in which made me happy. By the time we got outside, my car was already waiting for us to go and all I did was tip the valet and we were off. This is how a hotel should work, it should be easy to check in and out with no difficulties.

Really liked the rooms and the service. The kids had a lot of fun in the playroom and the pool.

The Marriott was probably once one of the nicest places in town. It's dated now, and the room layout was a bit odd, but everything was nice. We had a late checkout accommodation without a problem. The staff are all very nice. We had a really great view from the 21st floor facing North East. I recommend trying for a similar view if you can. No hot tub at the pool, would have been nice if there was. Also, no ice machine on most floors. The place could use an update, but it is well priced for the downtown area.

Incredibly they did not respect a reservation made with many days in advance. After a long trip we found the surprise that they had not available the rooms that had been booked and faced with the inability to get last minute a room in another hotel, we ended up sleeping in an improvised bed in a room I work, without a shower and in a case without toilet. Everything is attributed to a failure in the system but the quality of service does not correspond to anything they promote and what they charge. After one night we were relocated in the reserved bedroom and did not charge the first night, but that does not compensate in any way the bad treatment received.

The hotel was further from the downtown core, but that was more me not doing my research. My check jn was a bit chaotic, and the valet appeared confused and was a tad unkempt. First world problems, I know. The room was smaller than what I expected from a hotel of this repute. There was barely any room to move around, but good if you are only using it for bedspace and you dont have kids. No microwave. The recreational areas were good, but the big highlight was Spin, the restaurant downstairs. The bartender (Hawa? ) was a gentleman with old world chivalry, and definitely knew his way around the bar, the food was the best I had in ages. All in all, good if you’re not going to spend a lot of time in your room.

Good hotel located very conveniently downtown. Great view of the river and the Supreme Court. Five minute walk to Parliament buildings. Staff are friendly and the hotel restaurant is good. Solid four star hotel, and a Marriott property so if you are a member, it gets better.

It is a Marriot with what that means in terms of service standars and quality of the same comfortable functional and in some respects even elegant for the way of thinking of 80% of the Anglo-Saxon travellers, its great advantage, this located in the down town of the city surrounded Beautiful modern skyscraper concrete, crystal, steel if you like NYC you'll like this area of the city.

This hotel was a horrible experience. I stayed here with my family and we paid for valet parking as it was a deal that weekend. My brand new 2017 equinox bumper is all scratched up. As we didn't realize this until we stopped for breakfast the morning we left this hotel is refusing to help me out in anyway. We never went anywhere else so obviously it was the valet parking that caused this damage. However not even a bit of understanding is coming from them. I cant believe the horrible service I am receiving. I would never recommend anyone to stay here as they don't care about your belongings and the amount of money that you have to spend after they caused all the damages.

Great experience! They were able to give us early check in and even upgraded our room. The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the pool and sauna. Room service was quick and affordable. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Stayed here for a work conference, great experience! Called the front desk for pizza delivery options, they knew the number off the top of their head. Bar was a nice space, no continental breakfast, but I didn't expect it to. Pool and workout area were really nice. Conference space and service was amazing!

Ottawa Marriott is good hotel in downtown Ottawa, close to Parliament Hill as well as many of the great museums and landmark sites. Byward Market is within easy walking distance. There is a good restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel called Spin. My room was good but it was exactly opposite the elevator so there was a bit of noise.

Check in was quick and efficient. However, this hotel is starting to show its age. Elevators can't keep up with the demand and there's always one that's not working. Toilet plumbing is inefficient. No fan in the bathroom. Was charged for water bottle in my room on a day I had the privacy sign up all day. Many people staying at the same time were also charged for this when they did not drink the water. Unacceptable to have it happen to so many people at the same time. On the positive side, the gym facilities are good and well maintained.

Very comfortable and clean rooms. Great location. Very helpful and keen staff. You can do better than eat here, but it's definitely a great stay.

The view from the restaurant on the 27th floor is beautiful, highly recommended.

Service was very friendly and helpful. The elevators to the rooms are very fast. The room decor is a bit dated but very clean. Location is great. The pool is currently under extensive maintenance and thus one star penalty as we were hoping to swim.

Courteous service and support. I've been a part of organizing two large-scale events at this hotel, and we had no complaints. From tech support to food to the rooms themselves, it'd be hard to do better than this hotel with regards to event planning. Thanks, guys!

As a Lifetime Platinum member maybe my expectations are too high. The first room was covered in about a half an inch of dust and the decor/furniture is very dated. Second room was equally as dusty. The third room was a corner balcony room which basically saved the whole trip because the view was amazing. Pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and long black hairs in the tub were a definite disappointment though. Went to the concierge level room to have a cocktail and were told that they didn't have a bar. Also told hours were different than what was posted at the entrance. Th attendant told us they served beer/wine on the top floor but when we went up there it was just empty conference rooms. Called front desk to inquire and were made to feel as if we hadn't been clear in our request when we asked;" do you serve beer or alcohol? " Seemed pretty straight forward. The following day we were told they did have beer/alcohol (not complimentary). Not sure what the mix up was but we didn't bother at that point. The only gem in this tarnished Marriot propertys' crown was Bob the bartender at Spin. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and really chnaged the tone of our vacation. One other stand out was the concierge who recommended Giavanni's in Little Italy the first night-it was a top notch dinner and he called ahead to assure us a table.

Enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, even though the hotel was very busy — I think some type of sports competition. It is adjacent to the construction of the new LRT line, so some of the streets around the hotel are a mess, but that should only be a short term issue. Great location — right on the Sparks St for shops and restaurants, a few blocks to Parliament Hill and very convenient for the downtown office and government buildings.

Ottawa was wonderful and this hotel was a convenient place for our conference with excellent service and good location to explore the city. They made sure my meal was gluten — free. The staff was very responsive and helpful. If they did not know the answer, they found someone who did. The Fairmont may be my favorite but the Marriott come a close second.

Although the hotel is a little dated (carpets and bathrooms), everything else at this Marriott is great. Lounge has an amazing view to go along with a nice spread. Staff has been very helpful… Weight room, pool, play area on the 4th floor is great. Fantastic spot in the city as we can walk to one side of the city or the other. Fast elevators are a plus in a big hotel like this. Overall, very happy so far!

I stayed on the 11th floor facing Kent St. The view was pretty as the reflective windows of the building opposite allowed me to see everything going on along the street. The pool, though I did not go in, seemed to be very popular as the elevator stopped there often on my rides up and down. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and easy walking along Sparkling St. To a variety of restaurants and classy stores. I saw many guest with their pets in the lobby, which has a restaurant. The hotel is only 2 or 3 blocks from the Parliament building and the tomb of the unknown soldiers all of which have a scenic view of the Ottawa river.

Loved my stay here. Good location, staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable as usual/expected with Marriott. I stayed in the concierge level floor and loved the heated bathroom floors. Concierge lounge was nice and had beautiful view of Ottawa. Would stay here again.

I ordered room service continental breakfast and hanged the order at the door before 2am to be delivered between 6am to 6.30am, I ordered specifically croissant only, they served 3 croissant as requested, 1 freshly baked and 2 surely not fresh. After 45 minutes the room service waiter called and asked hows my breakfast, then I told him that 1 fresh and 2 not fresh croissant he served.
He offered to replace the croissant. But I have no more time.

The staff was excellent very friendly and always helpful. We had 3 rooms and all rooms were clean and roomy. Our rooms had full length windows and two sides and a great view of Ottawa. Great location on Kent St. Close to parliament and easy walking distance to most sites. The valets were also excellent and always had our car waiting for us at the door. We will definitely go back.

I was here during a weekday for a private function thus I did not stay at the hotel but I did encounter fabulous service from the hotel staff and the large conference rooms were quite modern and we'll maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a conference or a wedding reception.

I booked a city view concierge level room to find me in a room "view blocked by a building" with toilets not wash. After "discussing" with the front desk I saw myself offer a room supposedly at the same price but to the floor 18rme. Jai receipt the invoice when I woke up I saw a difference in price of $ 70. I expect to see the Bill on my account.

First experience in Marriott with my family and really enjoyed the stay! Room was upgraded for free and staff were excellent. Parking was fairly affordable and would definitely recommend to anyone! Would choose this hotel again no doubt!

What a great experience. The staff was amazing and so helpful with anything I needed. A special thank you to the valet man. Sorry I cannot remember his name but I left early on Sunday morning and he was kind enough to get me a coffee even when everything was closed.

The hotel is nice, hold the Marriott brand. Staff on the other hand needs training/replacement. No one was rude, which is unacceptable in a hotel, but they were just not helpful. When you arrive with your pregnant wife a 2 yr old and a ton of luggage the very least you'd expect is someone to offer some help and how to get around. This staff is just obtuse to anything on their surroundings.

Hotel was nice and rooms spacious but mine was very hard to keep warm. Had it up to 27 and it would warm up and cool right off.

Wish the leafs traded phaneuf for this staff. Rooms weren't spectacular but were clean and appealing.

Stayed in a top floor suite, great view, had access to the VIP lounge, which was really good. Good service in general. Would recommend.

2625 room, Saturday, Dec. 12. Music kills head until 1:30 in the morning. We distinguish the words of the dj. Shower head outdated and without pressure. Starbuck's Hotel closed at 4:00 etc.

The black security guard likes to chase little kids and expects them not to move… Don't come he will drag ur children down the hall.

This hotel is very bad… We almost got kicked out from sitting in a room watching tv. Then when a boy was going down the stairs. The black security guard chased him for using the stairs. For some reason the security guards like to chase my 13 year old kid. Dont not come here at all. But if the security guard service is replaced… Then I recommend 10/10 The black security guard will chase you for no reason.

The noisiest place ever. Children running around late into the night, the pool closes at 11pm and the wind howls throughly the building.

They charge guest $5 for two bottles of water! Pool is located right in front of elevator in 4th floor! Not feeling good. Room's rug was dirty.

Was an amazing stay the service was great the rooms were big nice and clean the beds were comfortable nice pool and again amazing amazing service I recommend it for everyone and for groups.

We have stayed in Marriotts before but this was by far the worst one. The quality of the bedding and mattress were poor and the room had very thin walls that made it possible to hear our neighbor's television the entire night. Will avoid this hotel in the future.

Nice hotel. I never actually stayed here, but I was a guest speaker at a seminar. The wait staff were very attentive and accommodating.

Stayed there twice, first and last. Was there for a two nights stay last weekend to attend a special ceremony at Rideau Hall. Room was ok, Front desk staff were pleasant, but beware of their accounting. Came home only to discover that my credit card was charged for what seems to be a deposit at time of reservation. Every call made were transferred to accounting, where a message just stated to send an e-mail about the problem. After three calls trying to talk to someone I then left a message for the manager, he returned my call and told me that he would look into it. Today I received a call from accounting who told me that I should e-mail her my statement, so she could see for herself! After a long conversation she told me to wait 4-5 days and if the charges are still there to call her back. What a joke! What was supposed to be a special weekend turned out to be a nightmare. Parking was very expensive. Overall my stay there was a fiasco. Will never stay at a Marriott hotel again.

My room was old style standard and hugely overpriced for the appointments; no breakfast in the price; the bathroom was inferior and inconvenient, including "hidden" light switch. A bottle of water in the room was over $5 and the Wi-Fi slow.

The hotel and staff are exceptional especially Monica at the Front Desk! Upon arrival, she expedited my check in with efficiency while engaging in pleasant conversation. The same is to be said of my check out. Monica is a gem! The room is of Marriott standard: clean, well endowed with necessisties and spacious. Room service is quick and I truly appreciated the opportunity to pre-order breakfast. What a time saver for mornings before business meetings. I will be returning in the next few weeks and look forward to a truly pleasurable stay once again. Keep up the excellent work.

Fantastic! great location for travel! the food is not like what I expected.

This is an excellent hotel. The staff is very courteous and professional. There are two sides of the hotel that offer a decent view. They are the Kent st and Sparks st sides. The higher the floor, the better the view. If your are in one of the rooms with a balcony (corner), you will have an unobstructed view with a breath of fresh air. The hotel has an excellent gym and swimming pool. If your traveling with kids, there is a place for you kids to play inside too! Who would think you would be able to shoot a basketball or take shots into a hockey goal inside of a hotel? This hotel allows you too! The beds are the same as you would expect in any Marriott. I stay at a lot of Marriott's. It's great knowing the bed will be as comfy as I've always known the Marriott beds would be. In some rooms, the bathroom floor is heated when you turn on the lights. The restaurant downstairs is excellent. Not sure if they are Marriott staff, but I'm sure they must adhere to Marriott standards. They are just as friendly as well. I just had appetizers with a few drinks there while I caught up with the current events from the numerous TVs in sight. The only thing I would like to see in the future would be the implementation of the elevator system that directs you which elevator you should go to for the floor you want. Not sure what the system is called, but it is used at the Marriott Marquis in Times Sq New York. This hotel is busy enough where it would be beneficial for their guests.

Oldish hotel but excellent location. Starbucks at the ground level on one side. They upgraded us and so we got free breakfast. Rooms were clean with very comfy beds. Bathrooms were small and could be improved.

I've stayed here a number of times in the past and have noticed an improvement in the past couple visits. The staff are warm and friendly, the high speed Wi-Fi is great and the room service is fantastic! I wanted to write this review for those who have dietary needs. I have celiac disease and must eat gluten-free. When I travel, this frequently becomes a challenge as I often get sick from room service ordered in other high-end hotels in the area (I will refrain from naming). This morning I received the most phenomenal gluten-free breakfast and it was obvious extra care was taken in preparing everything from the gluten-free bacon to the toast. A big thank you to Gloria who inputted the order with such care and the kitchen team who accommodated.

Were in this hotel last year. Was great as anything good. Standard hotel without новоротов, access to which is only due to spend the night and only for one night. For recreation, it is necessary to look more decent hotel.
