We were blown away with how amazing our room was when we got there. Nice staff and absolutely no complaints. We will definitely be coming back for a girls weekend! I actually forgot my straightener in the room and didn’t notice until we got back to Petawawa. I called and they said they had it & would put it aside for us to pick up when possible! I’m blown away. Great customer service and staff.

I came to this hotel with my family for a 3 days and 2 nights stay. I have two toddlers and the convenience of having a kitchen, two televisions (One in the livingroom and one in the bedroom) and two double/queen sized beds in one room was great! Not to mention a stool in the bathroom to assist my daughter with washing her hands on the bedroom sink. We also drove an electric car for our family road trip and it was great to find out that they had free charging for our vehicle. Warning, the water runs very hot but that wouldn't be a problem as you can quickly adjust it to your liking. Kitchen provides you basic needs (dinner ware, cooking utensils, tea towels and salt & pepper). Lastly, the pillows and bed are super comfortable! I highly recommend this for family with young children. You're welcome to ask for a crib but we didn't so I am not sure if that is complimentary. However, I wished I knew that for my first night as it would have been great for my younger daughter. Hotel was clean. We lucked out and had a private balcony. I am sure we'll make another booking at this hotel again for our next Ottawa trip.

Thank you Albert at the Bay for finding my daughter’s stuffy and mailing it back to us! She’s had McNugget since she was born and he means so much to us. She also loved that McNugget smiled like yummy tea when he arrived home

Excellent sized suites including kitchen and living room, the back side of the hotel would be quieter compared to the side facing Albert street. Make sure to check out the rooftop patio and exercise rooms. Great front desk staff as well. They do have underground parking available but it isn’t the biggest lot, and can be a bit confusing and claustrophobic if it’s your first time down there. On the plus side it has electric vehicle parking if needed. The hotel is on the quieter side of downtown in terms of attractions, but also feels safer, and once the Light Rail service is running through downtown in a few months, the hotel will be around the block from one of the stations.

Fabulous stay!! We stayed with our kids, we had our own room, our oldest had her own room and our youngest had the pull out couch. We had a full kitchen, which makes life a lot easier when you have to deal with food allergies. The hotel is right downtown, so we were within walking distance to parliament, which was nice!! The only thing that I would have changed is that there is only one plug for electric cars. Over the weekend there were 4 cars here that were trying to charge. Overall it was a great stay and we plan on coming back!!

I live in Ottawa and this is the hotel I recommend to any out-of-town guests that need a place to stay. I've never heard anything negative about it from anyone I've recommended it to. Each suite comes with a kitchen, spacious living area, and comfortable bedroom. The rooms and interiors are very clean, the staff very helpful and courteous, and the location is close enough to downtown while being just enough on its western edge to avoid the noise and bustle. A safe, reliable choice for an overnight stay.

Fantastic place to land. We really enjoyed the hospitality from all of the folks who work at Albert at Bay. The room was more of an apartment in size and was super clean and well decorated. Parking right at the building and perfect central location to all the amenities and attractions makes it a perfect spot to stay. Highly recommend and special thanks to the staff for helping us get into the room early. It’s what you hope for when coming to town for a concert and made the whole evening special. Cheers!

Excellent Service. A person takes the trouble to help us a lot during our booking process (in French).
Welcome in English and French. Smiling and professional staff.
Spacious, clean, air-conditioned rooms. Window in very good condition and well soundproofed.
Courteous, discreet and smiling housekeeping staff.
Adequate location in the center of the city, but a can away.
Only downside: Indoor parking too low (6 ') for my vehicle (6 ' 2 ' '). But the hotel offers me an alternative in an outdoor parking lot only a few seconds walk away. Convenient when the site is not too busy, but if not, parking difficult to find and expensive.

We basically rented a 1 bedroom apartment. 4. Beds are super comfy! We got 2 beds in the room and 1 pull out bed in the living room. 5. Underground parking is available for $24 — I think it's worth it. Overall, we had a blast staying in this hotel. Would book it again when we visit Ottawa.

I have stayed here a few times already and I am always impressed. Last stay, they upgraded my suite to a two bedroom, two bathroom — really did not need it, but it was nice. The suites have full kitchens; so yes, you can certainly make it your home away from home. Very clean, quiet and large suites. The parking is expensive — 20 plus dollars for one night, so they lost a star.

Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Hardworking housekeeping people. Very spacious suites with new, comfortable mattresses. High definition TV. Full kitchen, dated appliances in a very old building. Walking distance to many attractions. Great food nearby. Quiet location. Good access to transit. Fair prices for what you get. For lengthy stay in the National Capital Region I will stay nowhere else. Cook your own meals but nice options to eat out. I don't need a fancy room and besides these rooms are nicely appointed and comfortably enough by far.

Currently staying on an extended stay with two small children. The staff is exceptional. I mean, over and beyond exceptional. We ran into some kinks at the beginning of our stay at no fault to the staff, but they really made it up to us, even as far as getting some small gifts for our little ones. There’s nothing worse then staying somewhere that feels “foreign”. I truly feel that Alberts wants you to feel comfortable and their ratings show for it. I don’t think we would’ve wanted to stay elsewhere. Definitely doesn’t feel like staying in a stuffy hotel. Building is quiet. A lot of amenities nearby, including a full convenience store attached to the hotel. The ONLY thing I wish it had was something for kids, especially during the winter, but hey, you don’t come to the nations capital to stay cooped up in a hotel.

We got the luxury suite with the jacuzzi. Its a VERY large suite complete with a dining room, full size kitchen and living room area. Super clean and very comfortable. The bed was among the nicest we've slept in at a hotel. Great jacuzzi tub but the water pressure is lacking. It does take quite a bit of time to fill the tub and the shower isn't powerful enough for my taste. Great location too. Close to a lot of restaurants, pubs and shopping. Great staff, very accommodating. We'd stay here again for sure.

Was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the suite was. It was very large, and well appointed. However, when we opened the pull-out sofa bed, we were horrified to discover that not only was it dirty, but there were very small worms in it! We called the front desk, and they were very helpful and quick to offer a new room or send someone to clean ours. We chose the latter. Once the pull-out bed was clean and freshly made, it was actually very comfortable, unlike most sofa beds. As we stayed during the winter, with the temperature dropping to — 20°C, he underground parking was an important feature. However, they did charge an additional fee ($25/night) which seemed excessive.

Your suite is basically an apartment. It's well equipped, clean and spacious. You sacrifice some amenities of traditional four star hotels (e. G. Variety of room service options, lobby bar and restaurant) but you get the best of the local community (restaurants will deliver to your door, an opportunity to venture outside and mingle with the locals). If the weather is right, you can literally walk everywhere — parliament hill, the market, the canal, the red mile. Transit is at the doorstep — I opted to take the bus from and to the airport and it went without a hitch. The kitchen has everything you need to cook if you prefer to grocery shop. The gym is basic, but it had everything I needed for a quick 1h workout. Added bonus: $5 for every day that you decline housekeeping services in advance. It feels like home every time.

Worst experience of my life. The staff were incredibly rude. I stayed there for my birthday and had friends there in one of the suites. There were 4 of us and we got a noise complaint in the early evening. We were kicked out of the hotel before 9pm! I couldn't believe it. We tested out their paper thin walls by talking normally on one side to see if you could hear through the wall and you could hear every word. Not to mention they allowed other guests to drink open alcohol in the lobby (which in their contract is prohibited). I took a video for proof and showed the manager but they completely denied it and tried to cover it up. NEVER go here!

Quite a large suite with 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and balcony. Housekeeping service and room cleanliness is good. Nice location and easily walkable to a lot of the popular sites but not very close to any grocery stores without driving. Got a great rate and I would definitely stay here again. My room did have a strong body odour smell that I had to air out but was gone by the second night, so maybe the previous guest was smelly. It was late when I got back from walking around so I didn't bring it up with the hotel because I was too tired to think about moving rooms. I'm sure they would have corrected the issue if I'd brought it up. They also have apples in the lobby which was great for me when I was heading out in the mornings.

Amazing and VERY clean hotel! It's a former apartment building so we got a full size 1 apartment and the balcony offered me great views of downtown Ottawa and Gatineau Hills in the horizon. This is perfect for larger families as the couches are also pullout beds. The full size kitchen with dining gives people a chance to save some money on breakfast, or all your meals if you don't mind cook long on vacation. Check out Farm Boy supermarket to pick up a few items. Also, It's a great central location and walking distance to Parliament along with many museums, restaurants, bars and park. My girlfriend and I will most certainly stay at this hotel every time we come to Ottawa.

When we had a question about nearby places the hotel staff walked us through many options and I could tell that they genuinely wanted to help. Our room was very clean and it was clear that the staff take great care to ensure the cleanliness. I have never been at a hotel where they offered as much space as the Albert on Bay! The first thing that will strike you is just how huge the suites are. I stayed in a single suite and felt I had more space than in my own apartment. The kitchen, living room and bathroom were extremely clean, modern, and well maintained by cleaning staff. Important amenities can be found nearby. The large flat-screen TVs (there were two of them) had all my favourite cable channels — I felt like I was at home again. Desk staff were very friendly and patient despite locking myself out on two different occasions. I don't think I can ever stay at another hotel when I'm in Ottawa — this is like nothing I've ever experienced, considering the price!

I had to stay at 4 different hotels in Ottawa over the past 6 weeks for business, and by far the Albert at Bay was the best of he bunch. I've already booked in to be there again next week. It was always a joy to come back to at the end of the work day. My only nitpicks:
1) While there were lots of plugs, most of them were not near any furniture, meaning that when I had to charge things (and like many modern business travellers, I come with many electronics to charge! ) they ended up on the floor instead of on a desk or table. The desk really only had one plug that was usable (the other was in use for the lamp) and it was in an awkward place. Please, more plugs next to the desks/tables or put the tables next to plugs!
2) A clock in the living room area would be great.
Thanks!

The hotel is only a 15 minute walk from Parliament and a 20 minute walk from the byward market area. Of note: If you have a roof rack on your car, it wont fit into the parking garage. We found this out the hard way.

I am a wheelchair user who travels with attendant care. I am a regular guest at Albert on Bay which is an excellent suite hotel for wheelchair users whether you are traveling for business or pleasure or you needed to stay because you were displaced due to renovation or insurance loss. The staff are kind courteous and do their best to help. They arrange the room according to your needs and everything is ready when you arrive. The lobby has accessible washrooms. Meeting facilities are accessible. The depanneur is 24 hour and can accomodate your basic dietary needs in a pinch no matter when your flights land. The tough spots are the sinks are hard to reach independently and the universal problem of needing to spit in a cup because the sink is far away from a seated person. The sink is high up which is hard if you are in a manual. The bed is high if you are short but they are great to lower it. Again the staff are wonderful! I am pleased to recommend this hotel for disabled travellers.

The location was very close to the NAC where I was performing, and thus very convenient. The room was great, and the staff very helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

The Albert Bay — reasonably priced. Large rooms. Rooms a little dated but still nice and clean. No bar or restaurant in hotel. Friendly staff

The suites at this hotel are more like one bed + den apartments. Very happy with the size. Check-in was a breeze as was getting there in the first place. It's a bit of a walk to the center of the downtown core but well worth it. Sadly no room service at all — but free Wi-Fi is good.

Giant, clean rooms, great location, fair prices. Plenty of room for your party, as the hotel rooms appear to be large former apartments. Would have been nice if parking wasn't so expensive, but street weekend is free and a available.

Great room at the last minute. Staff was very sympathetic about the insane cold outside and recommended a very good restaurant that was a SHORT walk away

If you are in the HSBC center, this is a good place to stay! This is directly along the road and is suitable for sightseeing downtown. The room has a great king-size bed, no more. When it comes to the Berqi loan unit, the continental breakfast has fresh fruits, eggs, waffles and toast, as well as a lot of nice muffins and pastries when we arrive 2:45 P. M. I will certainly also choose this hotel accommodation from here.

Loved the room's cleanliness and decor. Having a balcony was a nice bonus. However, the Wifi didn't work on my laptop (despite entering the right code, I kept on getting an error message) and the hotel was lacking other amenities outside the rooms. I'd still revisit for the room alone.

We stayed here on our extra long weekend in Feb during Winterlude. The free parking was heated underground so we never came out to a cold car. We walked to downtown and found some great restaurants along the way. Close proximity to skating on the canal from many places. We had a 2 bdrm suite to give us and the kids somewhere to escape to. We were able to being drinks and snacks. We usually had lunch and breakfast at the hotel and found some great places for dinner. The extra room in the suite gave us space for all our winter things, skates, etc. While there was no pool, we found many other things to do. A short 15 min walk to town was great exercise, even our children were good with it and no complaining. Found a great Chinese Restaurant with cook tables on Queen St right close to the sculptures. The kids loved the cooking table experience, we wouldn't have found that driving around. Definitely will stay here again. Its the best value for the money

The rooms are clean and spacious, staff was very friendly. The location is a little out of the way (the edge of downtown), but there is a bus stop in front of the hotel and the next block over as well as taxis. My reservation was done in haste and ended up having some errors. When we arrived at the hotel the woman at the front desk, without my asking, asked me about it and fixed the reservation. At the end of my stay there was another hiccup with my bill (I assume it had to do with the first hiccup) and this time all I had to do was ask and quickly explain what had happened and it was fixed right away. Later that morning after checking out we went to have breakfast, our package included vouchers unfortunately we recieved the wrong ones due to MY reservation screw up, and were quickly chased down by a member of the front staff to give us the right vouchers at the restaraunt next door.

For extended stays which I did a while ago, they are one the best options. I checked in and out over 70 times over a few years of my contract since I consulted from my New York location. The staff was always friendly regardless of the time or night I showed up. Being late and or during regular hotel time they always have a great restaurant menu and hotel services that meant my room was always clean. The rooms are spacious so you avoid the claustrophobia that sets in when you stay in a one room hotel room for an extended amount of time.

Very impressed. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They didn't mention why (I suspect they just weren't busy), but we got upgraded to a "King Suite" which included a fully stocked kitchen and two bathrooms. It's not every day you open the door to your hotel room and find your self in. The living room. :-) I had no trouble with parking, noise (we heard our neighbours from the hallway but not from the suite) or the facilities. We'll definitely give this place a second visit the next time we're in Ottawa.

Great location! Walking distance to the Parliament building, Byward Market and lots of museums! Also, unlimited in and out parking for when you don't want to walk. Rooms were basic, but great for people looking for an extended stay. The restaurant downstairs was a cute little Irish/Scottish pub.
