Just finished a stay here, it was excellent! During my stay I encountered numerous staff (multiple front desk, restaurant staff, even maintenance) and all of them were SO courteous and helpful. They seem to really take pride in being good at what they do and making their guests comfortable. The room was immaculate, and the bed was one of the comfiest I've ever slept in. I will most definitely stay here again and I highly recommend!

No hairdryer, no safe, no room service, tiny tiny room! toilet so close to wall can barely wipe my ass! only plus is location.

Hotel is conveniently located close to Byward Market and Parliament Hill. Beds are nice and comfortable but the rooms are noisy. Our room was on the second floor overlooking York street and we were kept awake by loud music from a nearby establishment and later by street sweepers. Worst of all was the incredibly noisy room air conditioner. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special.

Great location. Car stayed parked most of our time in Ottawa, since we could walk to all the attractions. Our breakfast was not included in the price, so we only ate in-house once or twice. Byward Market is nearby and offers a myriad of food choices (and a more fun experience as you watch your food be prepared in front of you).

The Courtyard by Marriott is located near the Byward Market in Ottawa. Lots of cool vendors and buskers in the market. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The only done fall is even after you have rented the room is you have to pay for parking. I believe that this should be covered with room for as many nights you stay.

Amazing location. Right in byword market and a short walk from the canal, parliament hill, and the National Gallery. Helpful staff and comfy beds. No complaints.

I posted a review earlier that I was upset with the management of the hotel and how they dealt with my parent’s request in changing their reservation due to a family emergency. Nancy, the general manager of the hotel, reached out personally to me and she was amazing in helping me fix their reservation and was able to save their trip for my mom’s 60th birthday. I am impressed with how quickly she responded and how empathetic she was to their situation. I know my parents are looking forward to their trip and I am sure they will have a wonderful stay!

A good stay so far. Check in was easy. The room was clean and well appointed (King suite). It is a medium to large hotel which means rooms can be quite far from the elevator. Parking is convenient and it is located right off of York st and byward market. I would return.

The staff are very friendly and courteous, the rooms are clean and fresh. Walking distance is short a by Ward market and buildings of Parliament. The hotel courtyard is very well located for its price.

Very old. Very outdated. In all honesty it does not represent the brand Marriott's and what they make them selves to be. The conference room was just horrid. Paper thin walls you can literally hear and understand what people are saying … AND DOING … Clearly and vividly. I wouldn't stay here again for sure.

This beautiful Hotel sits in the middle of the heart of downtown Ottawa. The rooms are beautifully designed with modern furniture. Not only do they have a massive parking lot directly outside of the hotel, there is also parking underground. The staff here are not only friendly and knowledgeable, they are all very helpful with polite manners. I would stay over and over again at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone who asked. 5 out of 5 stars.

Not bad at all! It’s in a very convenient location and offers parking (at an additional charge I believe). Their pool looks very nice, though we didn’t get a chance to visit it. Robert checked us in, he was very friendly and professional. The room was a good size and clean. It was noisy outside, but that is to be expected when staying in a hotel in the middle of the market. I would stay here again.

Our room was stuffed with cigarettes, I would have liked to be offered another room.

Was there for a two day course. Cannot speak for the rooms, however conference center was great. AV went well, clean and well laid out. Food at the bistro was great, buffet style. Did not miss any food either.

Visited to meet a family. I only saw the lobby area. It was clean. Front desk staff were very friendly and respectful of departing guests.

I like everything about this hotel except the exercise room well en-below of my expectations for a hotel that has no reason to disappoint.

The hotel is very well located. The staff is really very friendly and very accommodating. Bilingual staff. The housekeeping is very careful.
however… — The rooms deserve to be refreshed (this does not prevent sleeping…).
— The rooms on the street side can be noisy for those who are accustomed to quiet. It is better to ask for one as far as possible on the pool side.
— the cleaning is done every day, the hotel is not eco-responsible.

One of the greatest Hotel in Ottawa. Excellent customer service, rooms are really clean and tidy. Shuttle bus waiting for you. When I'm at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel I sleep well, room are quite.

My wife and I visited the "bistro" for a quick bite and a beer while Xmas shopping. Our waitress was very friendly. The food was fresh-adjacent but nothing to write home about. The hotel was hosting several junior league hockey teams, so every car in the parking lot was a pickup truck and the kids were pretty much running wild throughout the lobby. I'd say this is a good enough place to nosh if the other area restaurants are full. I probably won't be back.

The hotel is well situated, very close to many shops and restaurants. Although it is an older hotel, it is very clean and well taken care. The bed was comfortable and the room had a decent size, however the bathroom was very small. The girl at the front desk, Katlyn, was awesome! Super helpful and friendly. The only thing that disappointed was the pool which was cold.

Big disappointment Was there with a large group for two day business seminar. Meeting rooms were fine. Food was so-so, not up to par for a meeting of our size. Granted it was unique, but it was dry & tenderloin was tough. Past seminars at other hotels had much better food. Biggest disappointment was kids in the hotel for hockey tournament. They had unused energy (typical kids) and ran up and down halls/stairwells most of the time. Parents were nowhere in sight and hotel did not do much to curtail the nuisance. If you are going to book a large business conference, hockey tournament does not match. One or the other. No consideration for guests, just fill the hotel and make money.

Location is wonderful and pretty much everything is in walking distance. The room was a bit dated but still clean and large enough. Staff were friendly and helpful as well.

Good size clean rooms that are quiet. Very friendly front staff, has a nice size pool and adequate workout room. Smaller bathroom but for one person it's more than fine. The best part about this hotel is the location. You are right in Byward Market just steps from everything!

Some of the rooms are a tad worn but the staff is good and attentive. The Bar and restaurant do a good job of you don't want to go out but the location is at the focus of the market district so it's pretty hard to make an argument for not leaving the hotel for meals. On site parking is convenient, easy and without a roof for those with over height vehicles.

Best location downtown Ottawa right next to Byward Market and walking distance to so many sites. Small room and the smallest fridge I had ever seen but still was sufficient for our needs. We especially enjoyed the Front desk welcome ; she provided us with the most important info that we needed for a one night stay only. Would recommend this hotel anytime. Did not try the restaurant downstairs but looked good. Lobby was recently renovated I hear and it is very nice. Pool was a little murky but very enjoyable nonetheless. Excellent for families. What surprised me the most is the fact that they emphasized on a > If you hear loud noise, you must call front desk and they make you sign a paper to attest this acknowledgement. If you happen to be a Marriott reward member, late check out 2pm or upgrade to a room with a sofa might be possible. All in all, very good and we would choose the exact same hotel next time in Ottawa. Bring your walking shoes and don t miss the boat cruise, a must.

The central location is perfect for people wanting to avoid traffic, as a lot of things are in walking distance. Staff was professional and friendly. Above ground and underground parking is harder for bigger vehicles like trucks but it's doable. I can't comment on the bistro because we ate out. The traffic can be a little loud but it's expected. Rooms were clean and spacious. Overall satisfied with our experience and would stay again.

Location was amazing so much to do like dining, going out for a drink, tours and many tourist attractions near by all of these amazing things were in the Byward Market which the hotel is situated in. Rooms were regular very well kept and modern. Service was very good all were very happy and nice if there was a problem it was solved happily by the staff. Added note there pool is salt water and cardio and fitness rooms are some of the best I've ever seen in a hotel.

Excellent location close to shopping, by ward market and plenty of dinning options nearby. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor is not most chic I've seen but the place is clean and bed is comfortable. We had a pleasant stay there.

Hubby & I were celebrating our 42nd Anniversary and chose to be a downtown tourist. We booked the Byward Market Dining Pkg with the Mariott and it was excellent. We were surprised and happy to receive a Cheese tray with Anniversary Balloons to our room to start off with. Our Dining pkg gave us $60 towards any of 8 restaurants/pubs and included a delicious full breakfast at the Bistro.
Front desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Bistro staff Matt did a superb job on the Breakfast bar with his excellent customer service skills. Kudos to him and Dining Room Mgr Ethan.
This was our first ever stay at Courtyard Mariott and would definitely recommend this venue.

Sheets didn't fit the bed! Empty shampoo that wasn't replaced, they replaced it with face wash. Lackluster breakfast but they do offer eggs, bacon and potatoes. No safe in room. They did have a chair with ottoman. Good location.

Nice hotel. Very clean, friendly staff. No breakfast though. Great location, it is within walking distance of anything you want downtown. I would stay here again just for the location.

We had a great stay overall. The staff were very accommodating and the room was clean and cozy. However, one downfall — our room must have been adjacent to a club because there was pounding bass until after 2 am. We have three small children. Other than that, perfect.

Locating next to the Byward Market. You can find many good eating places there. Parking lot is within the Hotel (outdoor and indoor parking available). Paid $20 Dollars a day you can in and out your car unlimited number of times. The hotel rooms is clean and Room Maker cleans up the room everyday. I would recommend this hotel.

Really enjoyed my stay. Every staff person I interacted with were super helpful… front desk, bistro staff, those staff cleaning rooms, etc. The room was clean and comfortable. I found pool a bit cool for my liking but that is hardly a reasonable complaint :)

Courtyard by Marriott Byward has good rooms for a short term stay. The staff were very professional. The best part is the location in the Byward Market close to food and shopping.

Perfectly located. Excellent staff. Very comfortable beds. What sets this hotel apart, is their employee, Jonathan, whom we nicknamed the Prince. He goes way above and beyond the call of duty. If he's not helping you park in their tight parking lot, he's opening the gate for you to leave, getting you water for the trip home, offering to run and buy you snacks, helping with the elevator and genuinely interested in your stay.

Location was good; close to Rideau Centre and right in heart of Byward Market. Hotel was accommodating of last minute changes. Rooms were basic but serviceable.

Nice hotel, right on corner of the market, good beds and 24 hour pantry.

Great service! Lost gloves and they had them within a few minutes. Breakfast was even reasonably priced.

Stayed at the Marriott on Dalhousie St in Ottawa. Nice and quiet, good rooms, excellent atmosphere and decent gym with pool. Will stay here again and recommend.

The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are spacious. However, the onsite restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. I have stayed here twice and both times the food was unsatisfactory. We ordered roast potatoes and they were like bullets. We also ordered a quesadilla and that was mushy. The server's response was to shrug his shoulders. Needless to say we will not be eating there again.
