Stayed at the hotel last week and it was great! A really nice hotel literally at the edge of By Ward Market. Very helpful staff, lovely and clean and a nice inclusive breakfast. We would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing night and stay we had at this hotel! The man at the front desk was SO nice and the covid safety precautions were taken in place, everything was perfect. Breakfast in the morning, affordable rates, beautiful balcony. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you guys 💕

Great place right by all the action but far enough away to enjoy your coffee on a cute balcony in peace & quiet. Unique artwork from a local artist throughout adds some atmosphere. We had everything we needed and would stay here again. They try to be environmentally friendly, breakfast was delicious! and the bed was comfy!

Lovely boutique hotel with great rates and amenities, and very close to downtown. We also appreciated their obvious commitment to reusability!

Hidden gem. Older place but they made it quite cozy. Clean comfortable rooms, tasty breakfast. We will definitely check in again on our next visit. LGBT friendly ️‍

Second stay here. You really feel at home here. Wonderful suites with kitchenettes. Great breakfast. Magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Awesome for those of us who want to put on make up but have a problem seeing. I highly recommend this place.

Very friendly staff. Parking was not free, but it was reasonable and close to the premises. Interior of room was very clean and fairly newly renovated. The bathroom was clean, but could use a coat of paint. Overall perfect for the price, and location.

Pleasantly surprised! Great location, got a private parking spot. Good breakfast and bright happy paintings throughout the hotel. Would defiantly recommend.

The room was clean and neat. We were quoted a different price when we booked two room. When we checked out, the price of the rooms were much higher. The staff when check out was VERY rude to us when we questioned the total cost. Basically snapped at me. Prior to our arrival, we called two times to get a confirmation, and believe the gentleman we talked to, who also quoted the price, and was suppose to send us the confirmation (twice) was the same person who checked us out. This did not leave a food feeling when we left… we brought our friend who was visiting us from Mexico, and this was a poor ending to our stay in Ottawa. Not how my Canada works… two thumbs down for this reason… get a quote and in writing before you give Visa!

Excellent basic hotel. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Parking inside for 15 dollars. Amazing breakfast for this type of hotel. Staff are really nice and helpful. Will definitely come back.

Well-equipped Rooms and nice Staff. Unfortunately, breakfast choices are somewhat limited. Nevertheless, due to its central Location to the City centre and many Nightlife options in the immediate Vicinity recommended. Cars can be parked in the Hotel's Underground Car park for a fee.

Great little hotel. Although the hotel no longer accepts pets, they still accommodated our online reservation and we were allowed to keep our two dogs. Breakfast was Great. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and courteous. First floor has access to a courtyard patio that was very nice place to spend the mornings.

If I went back to Ottawa, I would go to ByWard Blue Inn. Perfect location and excellent service with an affordable price:)

I liked this hotel. Impeccable Service. Very generous lunch included. Good location.

Overall a good experience. The reception was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good as well. As for the room, it was bigger than expected, there was even a microwave in a mini kitchen corner. The cons would be a slight humidity in the room as well as a few mosquitoes.

I would not say it was bad, but they refused to offer me and my fiance service. I called them and they said they would reply, but they didn't. Would not recommend, go to a better hotel who actually wants your service.

Great place to stay near Byward Market. Decent rooms (not overly fancy). Clean and we'll kept. Good kitchenettes. Wi-Fi was mostly reliable (some drops here and there). Great breakfast in hotel.

Feels like home away from home. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Clean. Excellent selection for breakfast and tea time. Internet speed was good. Parking a little tight.

Amazing rooms. Some rooms a bit small but absolutely gorgeous. Amazing get away for anyone. In walking distance from everything in downtown Ottawa. Very family orientated. Amazing breakfast. Includes eggs, bacon, home fries, egg and cheese on an English muffin. A beautiful spread of fruits, cereals, toast, croissants, muffins, coffee and tea. Staff if exceptional, friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back here! Prices are reasonable, you could not ask for a better inn and location!

Nice and clean rooms. Location is great too. But the mattress is too old, the counter height of the bathroom is higher than standard counter height. Therefore not convenient for face washing.

An unpretentious hotel, ideally located in the Byward market. Lunches and teas (from 3pm to 5pm) are offered by the house!

Selfish me thinks I shouldn’t post this review because I wanna make sure I can get a room next time I’m in Ottawa. This place will be the only place I’ll stay in when visiting Ottawa. Where to start? Walls are covered with beautiful original art. Room are modern and large. No more old fashioned carpeted rooms. Big windows and balcony. Little kitchenette with coffee machine, kettle and a tea pot. Breakfast is great & so are the staff. This hotel makes me feel like I’m in France. Some pix of my room and other places in the hotel with beautiful art.

The By Ward Blue Inn Hotel in Ottawa ON is very nice and lovely. I love the place, is co cute and very close to Downtown Ottawa and Parliament Hill. I was few times and liked it at lot. I wood recommend to all my friends if they visit Ottawa to book By Ward Blue Inn.

Small comfortable and well located hotel in the market district.

Stayed here during the Christmas holidays with family. We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were clean and spacious. The inn also offered complimentary snacks and a full breakfast. The location was also great as it was minutes away from the ByWard market. Would stay here again.

We visited friends this year in Ottawa and chose this hotel a bit at random thanks to a promotion. What a nice surprise! The room was very clean, very well appointed and the bed Ultra cozy. Despite the intense cold, the room was perfectly heated. Wi-Fi performance. I don't eat in the morning, but my wife loved the breakfast. She particularly enjoyed the burritos and the small quiches, but liked the wide variety of choices offered. We adopted this hotel!

Nice comfortable rooms. The breakfast was great and different each morning. The afternoon tea with snacks was a pleasant surprise. Parking at the indòor public lot next door was only $8 A day. Short walk to the market. I would stay there again.

Nice simple hotel, super location. Breakfast selection was good. Room a bit tight due to angles it is built. Huge balcony is great, although we didn't use due to cold weather/snow, but must be nice in the summer.

Great location, cozy and reasonable prices. It's not a chain hotel, hence has character. Centrally located. Breakfast is outstanding and it is free. Room had a fridge s d microwave. It is less than 5 minutes walking distance to American consulate. If you have kids book a bigger room.

Had a good experience free breakfast in a very cute dinner section. Nice friendly staff helpful and polite. Small hallways makes carrying large bags tedious but that’s expected with the location being right downtown. Overall very happy with my stay here!

Very clean hotel in a very nice location. You can see the parliament building from our balcony. The free breakfast is great, lots of options. A lot of conveniences in the room like coffee, tea, free filtered water microwave and minifridge. We would stay here again. Value for money is great.

Unexpectedly had to stay a few days extra and the staff were great to make sure I was comfortable and had a place to rest my head. Great place to stay while visiting Ottawa. We will be back.

Very good Inn it had a very nice breakfast and around 3 their is a tea time so they have cookies, fruits, and a lot more food. Would definitely go back. But no parking have to pay next door.

I like this hotel. They have an exelent well made breakfast. Our room was very comfortable, it was like an apartment style and the room was on the last floor whit a great view. You have all the pot and pots, but you don't have a place to wash it. We have to clean it up at the bathroom. I have been there only for 3 days and it was perfect (a lot of green food to don't make grease plates or oiled). The mattress was old, I feeled the springs in my back.

A small and perfect hotel in the heart of Ottawa.

This is a lovely little inn for people who are exploring the beautiful city of Ottawa. It is steps away from the Byward Market area, Parliament and the War Monument, and a bike rental place. Tons of great restaurants and pubs within 4 or 5 blocks. The breakfasts in the morning were fantastic — choices of hot foods, fruits, cereal, yogurt and breads — to start off the day. The rooms, including bathrooms were clean and updated. While someone who is wanting to lounge around a hotel room most of the day or evening might find them a little small, for those who spend your day and evening out enjoying everything this area has to offer like we did, there isn't a better spot to stay for the price and with a great breakfast included. The front desk staff and breakfast servers are very nice and helpful. And they even have umbrellas at the front door to use during your stay if needed! Already referred someone else to stay here and they are arriving next week and we will be back to the ByWard Blue Inn when we visit Ottawa again!

The location of this Inn in Ottawa is fantastic. Close to everything around Byward market and walking distance to the National Gallery and the museum of Civilization in Gatineau. They also were amazing in getting us a room for a second night, without having us move. Amazing!

The location is good, the rooms also but you hear all the nightlife on the street side.

As the name infers, right down at the ByWard Market. The room was comfortable. Laminate flooring rather then carpet in the room, which was great (never really know if carpets are clean). Front desk staff were very courteous & helpful. Free breakfast in the morning, eggs, bacon, homefries, toast, fruit, etc. City parking garage right next door. Was $12 for overnight & a few extra hours in the morning. Enjoyed our stay. I'm sure well return.

Great location Great room with kitchenette, very well equipped, excellent service. Lunch included really very varied. Large balcony with a view of the Parliament! For the price, it's just WOW!

Stayed one night to be closer to market district after night out. Great location, affordable, small, modest.

My fiance and I stayed in May 2016. A great room at a great price! Must be 21 to book. It is located just 3 blocks from Byward market on a quiet street in a good neighborhood. We walked everywhere from the hotel. The room was spotless. Super comfortable queen bed, mini fridge, microwave, and patio. The shower was amazing and always hot. Breakfast was delicious, they serve an afternoon tea but we missed it. Early check in and late check out may be available. Parking limited but a public parking garage three doors down. Staff was fantastic at all hours. Great hotel for mature and business travelers. We will book again. Cant wait to go back.

Excellent boutique hotel in a fantastic location for great value.

The staff never mentioned that there is a parking for the hotel (the pub said private parking for the hotel), uncomfortable beds, breakfast ok, they take payment on arrival and not initially, what does not, maid who asked for an explanation if we want another pillow…, noisy, minimal décor of the rooms. I would stay at this hotel.

Made reservation and had confirmation email. Front desk guy says reservation was cancelled by manager for no reason. No alternate arrangements made. Was stranded in the middle of night. Enuf said.

A great location with a very attentive and friendly staff. We stayed in a “family suite” which had a bed in the main room, like other other hotels, but also a second bed in a separate room which allowed for privacy — not usually had in a hotel room. Seldom seen these days, in a hotel room, was ceramic mugs, glass wine glasses, real cream in the fridge and plates and cutlery in a cupboard above the sink. This is a small boutique style hotel with a European flavour. The free breakfast, along with the usual continental breakfast featured hot dishes — bacon, eggs, french toast, even a cappuccino machine — a rarity today. I recommend this hotel and would return in a flash.

Stayed here last weekend for 2 nights. The location is perfect. We parked at the city lot, a 1 minute walk away, on the same street. The Byward Market and everything else is within easy walking distance, and to walk around the area is beautiful. The hotel is completely decent for the $90/night price tag on Hotwire. Not a huge place, but I'd say the rooms are pretty spacious. The duvet was between 2 sheets, not in a cover which was strange. IKEA furnishings, so don't expect anything fancy. Wifi was so-so. There was art all over the place, clearly done by one individual. It doesn't go with the decor, but was fun to discuss/laugh at a little (only because it's everywhere and not to my taste). We didn't try out the free breakfast, so no comment on that. The security pin pad at night was really nice. One thing that was strange, and made me feel uncomfortable is on one of the nights 2 friends were walking in with us and the concierge seemed to think we didn't belong, and asked us for our room #, and then seemed suspicious by asking if 4 people were staying in out room instead of just 2. The room has a microwave and 3 sets of bowls/cups/plates/cutlery and a small dining table, which is really nice. The cleaners did a great job of replacing the towels and cleaning up the "kitchen-y" area. Overall would stay again for the location and price, and because we don't have fancy standards.

I booked from hotwire great service and friendly staff but the room was so small I did not like it.

Bedbugs. Enough said. Don't stay here. We checked our bed as soon as we got there and found 3-5 bedbugs right away and evidence of more. There are nicer, cleaner places to stay. Trust me, a little extra money is worth the peace of mind.

We had a wonderful visit. I read a few reviews that were completely opposite of our experience. Our room was perfect, we were in the "two room suite", which has a bed in each room. There is a large 6-person dining set in one bedroom (the room with the balcony) and a kitchenette in the other (the interior room). Two televisions. Perfect for kids in one room and us in the other. I liked all of the storage cubbies and hooks when you entered the room. Perfect for skates and winter gear. There was always a parking spot underneath, covered, secure. New furnishings, flooring, bath all completely remodeled. Staff were very helpful and common areas were cozy. Easy walk to skate the canal and explore the market. I just wish they considered pets, bc a new dog is in our future. But if we leave him behind, we would definitely stay here again.

I got a special price from hotwire. After tax around 80 per night. Very Reasonable and worthy. They have daily compliment purified water, internet and sauna; breakfast buffet (quite nice, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, egg, bacon/sausage, orange juice, yongurt, bread, muffin fruits (melons) etc) 。 They also have complimentary afternoon tea/coffee, cookie, cheese, fruits. Very warm, very friendly staff. They have free umbrella at the door, you can take one just in case there's rain outside. The location is great too. Walking distance to most of the museums and parliament building. The room is not luxury or very spacious, but feels like home and definitely enough for 1-2 people. They have a little fridge, coffee machine (and coffee/tea sugar cream stuff), microwave in the room. Overall, Loved it.

Was just were planning to stay in Ottawa as a resting spot on our way to Quebec City. This hotel changed our plans and we spent more time exploring the city. Everything was perfect here from the check in to the beautiful 6th floor room with a balcony to the great location. We got this hotel on Hotwire so paid substantially less than regular rate but I think the regular rate is a great deal.
