My daughter gave us a night stay because she loved it in 2017, she had great reviews. 1. We wanted to do valet parking but couldn’t because of traffic driving in the valet lane, so we parked but we are still paying for valet parking. 2. We were not offered the free glass of wine when we arrived, we did go down later and asked and received 3. We were not told that the elevators only worked with you key card! 4. I’m not sure why people raved about free non alcoholic and munchies mini bar in room? We had 1 bottle of water, 2 cans of coke, and 1bag of chips? Not sure why people are raving about that.? 5. Great view of byward market.

I loved it! Got the Suite viewing the South-West corner of the hotel on the 15th floor. Access to all flours except rooftop is restricted to room pass. The front door receptionist we're super nice. I will go back and rent a room again. Found the price on Hyatt website the best.

Stunning views from the copper bar, sadly all the drink specials were only offered at the bar on the ground floor… That being said, the cocktail list is decent and priced for the location (expensive! ). Best for a quick 1 or 2 before heading elsewhere. Equally the venue shut down the 1 night we really wanted to go… so better check first! Can't reserve a table, but can reserve the entire joint for around 25k! Haha.

My first choice when I come to Ottawa. Great, friendly and attentive service. A glass of wine upon check-in, beautifully styled rooms with conveniences such as motion detection lighting in the entryway closet. A gym with a view and a terrace that I have yet to frequent but have heard great things about! Highly recommended!

Nice location near the Byward market. There were a lot of places to eat within walking distance. And a lot of the attractions are within a 10 minute. It was an overall nice stay. You could parliament hill from the room. The beds were comfortable. The only thing that wasn't like I expected was that there were only a few drinks in the minibar. Also, I liked how there was a coffee machine even though there were only 3 flavours.

We didn't spend too long there as we were attending a bachelorette party. The room was on the 3 floor and modest in size. A beautiful bathroom and a large walk in closet were nice. Modern decor but very minimal. Convenient fridge in the room. Large picture window took up one wall of the room, but looked into downtown. Hallways and lobby were modern and fresh. Did not get to see much else.

We stayed at the Andaz for our wedding night. Our early check-in request was accommodated (although could not be confirmed until the day of check-in, despite booking several months in advance — something a little anxiety inducing when you know you need a place to get into a wedding dress! ). Staff were generally very friendly and helpful. The combination of only one of three elevators functioning and only two luggage carts for the whole hotel made leaving with lots of wedding stuff the next day inconvenient & challenging, but we managed it with help from kindly other guests and family. Beautiful view, and very clean nice rooms. Valet parking only, but service was really fast. Would have rated it higher were it not for the check-in / check-out prep issues.

Only stayed one night but boy was it memorable. Parked my car outside, walked in, was offered a complimentary glass of wine or beer, staff was incredibly polite explaining the in/out valet as well as breakfast the next day. The room was very modern, very clean and had great views of the city, also went upstairs to the bar, great service. Breakfast was amazing, I had high expectations for the hotel leading up to the trip and I was not disappointed.

A clean, modern hotel with excellent customer service. Check-in staff were friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming. The room was small but well designed & equipped with nice queen sized beds, crisp clean linen, a great view and a window that could be opened for fresh air & breezes. Room service was fast & courteous when we requested extra coffee mate the next morning. Valet service also was prompt and we were able to exit the hotel and be on our way to an important business meeting with minimal waiting and no fuss. We did not take advantage of the restaurants owing to our schedule, however we plan on staying here again in the near future and we'll check them out then. Thanks Andaz Ottawa!

The hotel was great, staff of the hotel were also great. Comfy beds, spacious rooms and top shelf treats in the room. The hostess at the Copper Bar was very snobby and rude about our Open Table reservation. She insisted there was no room for my friend and I because there was a group of 50 expected. At the time of our reservation there were at least a dozen seats empty, if not more. After airing my grievances to the hotel lobby staff we were told to head back up and the bar manager would get us a seat. By some miracle we got a table and service immediately. We stayed for our allotted two hours enjoying the view and the drinks and still cannot imagine why that miserable hostess felt the need to turn us away. She’s a lousy ambassador for Andaz and the City. A little respect and courtesy go a long way, as would a smile and an apology from her for her mistake. Her co worker was very sweet and courteous and as employees go, left the other employee in her dust.

We had a great stay at the Andaz. It came with many perks such as complimentary wine, snacks and bottled water. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The locally made soaps are wonderful. The staff are very friendly and professional. It is situated in a great location close to many restaurants and the Rideau Mall. I appreciate the hotel letting us know about early check-in availability.

Place is awesome. Quick check in, cool people. Free arrival bevy, killer roof top Bar… expensive roof top bevy's. Rooms are great. Lots o pillows. I love pillows.

Excellent hotel. Its not often we are pleasantly surprised anymore but they did it here. It was the small things. Locally made soap in the room, the free water or pop in the room, welcome glass of wine. All contributed to a great stay. Super friendly front desk staff, restaurant staff, and cleaning staff. Will definitely be back. Literally, perfect location too. Its so tall that you can see if from anywhere in the market so ya never get lost.

Staff is great, they're super friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and modern. Free non alcoholic drinks from fridge (they had ginger beer! ) And free snacks. Nice perk. Rooftop bar was nice too.

The experience was extremely pleasant with amazing bottle service and delicious food. I took my girlfriend there for our anniversary dinner and we had such a memorable experience. The view from the restaurant overlooking the parliament was so beautiful and I highly recommend it to anyone to go there someday.

Ok so here’s the lowdown on this hotel. I’ve stayed here many times for work. The location is great your walking distance to everything you want to see in Ottawa. Great food all around you as well. Glass of wine when you check in is great well the thought anyways as the wine was barely drinkable. Service is good. The restaurant is a great atmosphere but the food isn’t worth the inflated prices. If you need something they are there. My only complaints are the cleanliness especially the washrooms and carpets could use a vacuum once and a while. They are usually pretty busy as the location is great but when this happens to hotels they tend to lack in some areas and the lack of cleanliness is where the Andaz loses points. Great toiletries and the gym is nice. If you get a chance hit the trendy bar on the roof with a great view of Parliament and the city.

Great location and a beautifully designed hotel. You can tell there was a lot attention to detail. The hotel rooms were really modern and comfortable. The snacks and beverages in room were a nice bonus as was the beer at check-in. The bed and pillows here were so comfortable. We had the best sleep! Definitely check out their rooftop bar for the best views over the market and hill. Valet parking was pricey but right behind the hotel is a self service lot.

I have been coming to Ottawa every 3 months or so for a bit and book Andaz every time! As tempted as I am to try a few other places, I keep finding myself returning here. I am quite particular when it comes to hotel bathrooms, I can't stand staying somewhere that I can't shower without not wanting to actually touch the shower! I have not been disappointed with them yet! I've never felt discomfort in any way due to lack of cleanliness. The staff is always great! Very kind, polite and professional. Even when I made a ridiculous mistake while booking my last stay with them and found myself in a sticky situation, they resolved it for me without even missing a beat! I would highly recommend that you experience a stay with them for yourselves as there is so much more that I could be adding to this review! Not to mention the location is perfect!

Good location, beautiful rooms everything is new, the view from our room was sublime. We loved our little stay.

Nice hotel with an unreasonably expensive parking.

The rooms were pleasant and a great Scandinavian design aesthetic. They were comfortable, and I was fortunate enough to get a room with a view (unfortunately it wasn't facing the Parliament). It was still pleasant and a great way to stay comfortable from the freezing weather outside. The amenities were great and customer service is spot in. I would definitely recommend it for the casual traveler passing through Canada's capital.

Nice hotel, comfortable beds and well appointed rooms. Good breakfasts. The reception is very good.
Pity that the employees of the reception are in the cold, behind the front door… It is not very respectful of the staff on the part of the management!

Really great location, nice view right on Byward Market! Great amenities and hotel staff was always super friendly and approachable. Room was nice, spacious and well-lit! Some problems with the bathroom door and carpets had minor stains, but not a big deal. Overall great experience! :)

A very nice place and the rooms are superb and close to everything in the city center.

Super place to stay or have a meeting. Elegant and thoughtful design. Front desk is the only weak link. Poorly trained and in my visit, inappropriate in dress for this cool place. Also 3 Porter's at the front and my husband had to lug our bags himself. It's ONLY valet parking $$$$ and they take no responsibility for your car. Otherwise… a cool place. Fix your front desk staff please!

Complimentary wine or beer upon arrival, free minibar snacks in room. The beds were super comfortable, shower was great, rooms are clean, modern and bright. The decor is beautiful. Definitely would stay again.

Nice hotel. Very expensive. We booked last minute because of a family emergency, so had no choice. Big conferences in Ottawa so nothing else available. Would stay at Andaz again only if less expensive. Staff extremely nice and friendly. Had breakfast in restaurant one morning: it was superb!

The hotel itself is very clean and modern. The staff are all very courteous and professional as well. The complimentary mini bar and other extra really say a lot about the quality of the place. The only thing I was slightly disappointed by was the valet service. The valets themselves were all ver. Y nice, however the loading zone and valet pickup probably need to be larger or someone needs to coordinate the area at all times. A great place to stay overall but maybe examine the valet service or off a self serve parking options in the future. Update, management we excellent when I brought up my concerns about the valet service. Amazing service, definitely will be returning.

Our room did not have a nice view — view of a parking lot and buildings next door. If you have a room on a higher level, the view would be great. $30/night valet parking. Good customer service. Comfortable bed, stylish decor. Rooftop terrace is a bonus. Right downtown Ottawa. I will visit again.

This is a clean and modern Hyatt hotel located at the Byward Market. It's a great place to stay with a pretty good view of Parliament. You can walk just about anywhere downtown from here. Staff is nice and friendly. Really enjoyed my stay! Thanks!

The Andar Ottawa seemed to me to be the best value on my last trip to Ottawa. At 2 steps from the market, 3 from the university and 4 from the Parliamentary hill, this is a new hotel to stay in. The rooftop bar offers a breathtaking view of the Parliament.
The service was correct and courteous; Without artifice, but no complaints.
Hoping that the neighborhood will gentrifier soon, since passersby may seem a little "dodgy" in the corner.
I'm going back.

Beautiful hotel. Was there on a Saturday night. We had a room, and the doormen outside kept stopping us, asking if we were guests at the hotel and made us show our room keys. Very annoying. If you have a rooftop bar, maybe look into the logistics a little better to make your guests feel welcome. The guys at the door could use some customer service training to not be as rude.

While the bar offers a fantastic view and good food, the service could use considerable improvement. (Vegetarian friend told waiter about food restriction and his reply "good luck" and a desert including some rum was introduced with "are you pregnant? " We're tasteless and poor service. ) While the food at breakfast we had was good, it was not a $40 meal (+ tax and gratuity).

Popped in here for a quick drink the other day. Lovely environment and very friendly servers! The one who helped us out was great at answering our questions about the beer and tea selections. Great experience!

Excellent Hotel. After extensive travel through two continents, easily my favourite hotel. Everything works! Beautifully designed rooms. Great rooftop bar. Really nice breakfast. I could go on… Andaz will now be my first choice Hotel.

I spent a beautiful morning photographing a wedding with the wedding parties at Andaz a Saturday early September. Definitely now my favourite spot of all time to photograph bridal prep in Ottawa and will be recommending it to all of my brides. The service was wonderful, the rooms are beautiful and the views can't be beat.

The Andaz was a great place to stay! First off, it is in a stellar location located a 5 minute walk from Parliament. The hotel itself looked really nice and was very modern! The top floor (lounge) was beautiful with a outside sitting area, a restaurant and a gym. The rooms themselves are also very nice! If you get on the top floors you get a better view but don’t worry if you get a lower floor. I would definitely recommend going to the Andaz and I will return as well!

Really cool location to grab a drink and have apps. Place is very small so it gets busy quick. Need to go before 8 pm to have a chance of sitting outside. If you are a small group without a reservation you will likely get bumped by a larger group.

Great place for a drink, I went here on a summer evening and spent nice hours having drinks. They have a great selection of drinks, With great views. They have fireplaces going on so even on a little colder day, I will not mind sitting outside. The view of the downtown is just amazing. I would recommend making a reservation on a weekend, else it is difficult to get a table on their terrace. On weekdays you can walk in to find a nice spot. This is a little upscale place so be prepared to pay little more $$$. Great place for a date or even group. The service was little slow even on the weekday. But overall a great place to be.

I stayed here for my first visit to Ottawa and I loved it so much that I'm staying there again next month! The staff is professional, and the facilities are very clean and modern. My favourite thing about this hotel is the rooftop bar. The view is stunning, and the food (although a limited menu) and cocktails are very tasty. It's right in the Byway Market, so it's a great place to stay if you want to be in walking distance of restaurants etc.

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are very modern but cozy. It's in a great location. Beautiful view from the room. The staff are very nice. The food is delicious and comes quickly to the room. All the drinks except alcohol are free. They stock soap and conditioner from a lovely local soap shop called Purple Urchin. It smells divine.

Terrific location in downtown Ottawa. More precisely in the Byward Market area. Brand new hotel. No complaints. Glass of wine or beer offered upon arrival, just like at a resort; Nice touch! The actual room appeared to have been set up for handicapped travellers. Great, but was not a requirement for booking. Washroom was easily accessed through a sliding door. No step up for the shower. Unfortunately, there was extremely little counter space. Had to put toiletries on the toilet seat. Somewhat disappointing! Also, bring your own soap. The Purple Urchin Turkish Fig soap was less than appealing to put it mildly. Can't even speak of an acquired taste. Avoid it! There is an exercise room at the top floor along with a bar and outside patio, both with a view towards the Canadian Parliament Buildings. Will consider returning on next visit to Ottawa.

Hotel was great. They let us check in early which was so convenient. Lovely location and very nice room. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the construction outside and the noise of having a room close to the elevator.

The service is terrible. We request for a crib for our baby. First they deliver a broken one, and they promise to get another one for us. We wait until 11pm, still no sigh of delivering the crib. We had to call again, they said they will deliver to us asap. In the end, no one showed up and we didn't even get a call to inform us the crib was not available. Just totally ignore us. The service no matches with the hotel star rating. So disappointed!

I'm pretty sure this is now the best hotel in Ottawa. From check in to check out this place was beyond expectations. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional. Made our special weekend even more special. Rooms are amazing, super modern, spacious and with great views of Ottawa. Roof top patio is a must visit! Thank you Andaz Ottawa!

We were considering having our wedding and reception at Andaz. We have been to a few Hyatt Regency hotels throughout the world and we have always been impressed with Hyatt standards. Well, our experience with the event planner at Andaz Ottawa was extremely substandard. Her communication skills were subpar, as it took her weeks to return email to simple questions and we had to email her several times to ask her why she had not responded to our inquiries. She poorly explained our options and their services to us. She indicated that we had to have a $25, 000 minimum to have our event there. $25, 000?! I couldn't believe it, sounded like a joke. In addition, she did not disclose this to us until far into discussions after already informing her of our budget. Finally, we had to tell her that because of the customer service she was providing and the budget, we simply could not have our wedding there. We were extremely frustrated with the whole experience in which the woman made us feel like since we were not spending $25, 000 we were not worth her time. We were considering spending a significant amount of money at their hotel (not to mention a number of guests who would be staying there), but they lost us because of this bad experience. We won't consider recommending Andaz Ottawa because of this.

Stayed for an overnight visit for a friend's birthday. Very clean, very modern room with a nice view of the city. Staff were courteous and helpful. The rooftop bar has a nice view but it was expensive. Overall we enjoyed the stay, and I would go back again.

We went for rooftop cocktails and had a wonderful time. The space is very cozy and spacious with excellent views of the city. The high glass wall provides an excellent wind barrier, ultimately being less windy than a regular patio at street level. Great service, great $16 cocktails with interesting recipes. There's only a snack menu at the Copper Spirit & Sights Bar, but the Duck Pissaladiare was delicious. There's also an indoor bar adjacent to the rooftop — very elegant, with excellent views from every table. Will definitely be back.

I recently visited the Andaz Rooftop Bar with a group family and friends. Though it was standing room only, several hotel staff kindly welcomed us and said it was no problem to head up and have a drink. After checking our coats and heading to the bar to order some drinks a guy dressed in a suit with a shaved head (who I am assuming is the manager) rudely told our group that we could not stand near the bar and had to leave. This guy not once welcomed us, asked us if he could help with anything, or offered an alternative space to stand. He just bluntly told us we could not be there and walked away. The place was not overwhelmingly busy and for reference we were a group of adults between 25 and 40 who were willing to stay for several drinks… and we were asked to leave. The hotel staff were quick to apologize and let us know that this guy was just as unpleasant to work for. When he saw us talking to the staff, clearly upset, he did not offer us a minute of his time to apologize or give us a reason for not being able to stay… Moments later a group of 4 young guys whom may not even been of age were welcomed into the bar… If this is the type of reputation Andaz wants to have, I certainly will not be returning anytime soon and will not recommend that any visiting friends or family do so either. What a flop.
