Reviews of Country Inn & Suites 2*
The room was by far the most disgusting room I have ever been. I requested a non smoking room of course but the room reeked like smoke and old ash trays. I tried to call the front desk 3 times regarding these issues and each time was put on hold for extended periods of time. Absolutely ridiculous.
They denied my Military Service dog because they say that the ADA does not sponsors Military Service Dog. Here is the definition of ADA Service Dog Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
By far the worse place ever. Room was dirty, I mean little things like nasty stuff on head board. Ants in bathroom. Tub not clean. People above me causing noise throughout the evening and staff did nothing. I would never stay at this hotel again. NO EXCUSE for low standards.
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Columbia at Harbison, SC gave us a room in a pandemic that was never vacuumed, bathroom not cleaned, nor the sheets changed… with active roaches/bed bugs. They just made the top covers and tried to pass it off. Front desk was rude and refused to come up and check another room before giving it to us. Then, key card for THAT room wouldn’t work. Yep… I went down and told her what a hot mess the place was and asked for her help. She got rude so I went on her and asked for a manager. She told me she was the only employee on the premises… as I heard a vacuum running. 🙄 So we left. I’ll be contacting the Department of Health regarding their disregard for basic cleanliness AND COVID practices. I then called and they got us into a SWANKY room, last moment, with 3 kids for $89. I think they just made a lifelong customer out of me.
Don’t book! My family and I stayed here last week from Thursday and checked out Sunday morning. I woke up Sunday morning to a bed bug crawling past my pillow! The disgust I felt had my skin crawling! I pulled out my phone and recorded it and took photos so I can show the lady at the front desk and it even made her skin crawl. After she apologized she had me send the photos to their email for investigation and today they had the NERVE to tell us the mattress in the photo doesn’t match any in their hotelBS! Every photo and video I took while there was linked to the exact location so the fact that they lied to not give me a refund was just as filthy as this hotel!
Rooms are very nice and it's a quite place.
Need to actually clean the room and have a helpful staff.
Always stay here on our way down to HH SC and Myrtle Beach. People are nice and rooms are nice and clean. Free breakfast is a plus. It is nice and we enjoy it.
Im usually one to never write a review unless I’m extremely impressed, however this experience was horrible and I feel the need to warn others. In our room:
Mold in refrigerator and around air vents, grotesquely stained and ripped carpet and furniture, filthy walls, cockroaches in light fixture, missing fixture, ceiling fire sprinkler was wrapped in a plastic bag and wash cloth, sharp shards of plastic in carpet that injured my young son’s foot.
Indoor pool… yummy fresh baked cookies… delicious complimentary hot breakfast.
Nice hotel. Not the best one of this chain we've stayed at. The breakfast lady didnt show up one the mornings so had cold breakfast. I will say this… half the patrons I saw were smokers and there is absolutely no place to sit and have a smoke. Every other hotel of this chain had a place to at least sit. That's pretty much the only reason I didnt give a 5 star rating.
Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and fresh smelling. There was a light out in the bathroom and large holes in the closet. Over all, it was a nice experience.
No phone in room.
No Mirrow on wall, just the clip for it.
Towel holder in bathroom missing.
No more benches outside to sit on.
This was room 114.
Used to be a nice place to stay.
At check in lady at desk was very nice had lights out in the bathroom offered to move us but wasn't that big of deal. Need a separate smoking area cause everyone was smoking right at the door and throwing there buts down. But would stay there again.
We chose this hotel because we had just returned from Davenport, Iowa and had stayed 5 nights at Country Inn and Suites by Radisson and had a wonderful stay and service. To be fair, Angela, who checked us in at Columbia, was very professional and friendly. The room was clean, but there was no information where to go in case of fire/emergency (nothing on the back of the door where many hotels place an emergency escape instructions) ; no light bulb in the lamp on the desk; only 2 of the 5 lights in the bathroom (2 sockets had no bulbs and 1 burned out) worked; no guest information book or channel information guide: next morning, went to breakfast at 8 and no forks or napkins available. When I asked, the clerk said the truck had not come in with supplies. My thought was, "Is there no store close by that you could have purchased these items? Do you not keep an emergency supply? " I contacted corporate… they said the manager would have 2 days to get back in touch with me by phone or email. It has been 4 days and I have heard nothing. We will be doing some traveling and are looking for safe, clean, and great hotels to stay at. Had the manager contacted us, corrected the issues, we would reconsider staying again. I really hope action will be taken to make corrections.
We had a pleasant stay the room was spacious and the beds comfortable, the air conditioning very efficient, the color scheme of the room is a disappointing mustard yellow color, in the room that we were in the carpets had some stains that look like they've been there quite a while which is unfortunate. The woman at the desk that greeted us and check us in was extremely helpful and concern for our comfort. She seemed to truly enjoy greeting people and being at her workplace.
My family and I stayed here for one night on our way to Myrtle Beach. The room was clean. I even felt comfortable walking in the room without shoes. No sign of bugs! Hot breakfast included so that was nice. I would return.
Nice day no frills Hotel different from the Country Inns I'm used to in the big city but it still work for my purpose. Nice hot breakfast friendly staff. Non-smoking hotel but the outside smoking next to the doors allow for a lot of smoke to get into the hotel.
Do not stay here! they have bed bugs!
Staff was very accommodating, breakfast was also good. Problem with elevator, had to walk up and down 4 flights to room. Expected it to be repaired overnight.
Most disgusting rooms I’ve ever seen! Regionals need to make a visit and make some changes!
BED BUGS! the first time I tried to stay here my reservation was some how cancelled. I decided to give them another try and it was horrible! The first room at first glance it was dirty but dealable. 30 min into the stay my son fell asleep on the bed 5 min later I looked over and the was a bed bug crawling on my 20 month old son! they did give me a different that I inspected very good no bed bugs but the room needed cleaning. The sheets and blanket was stained. The lamp shades were nasty the carpet was sticky and there was hair in the drain. Oh and both rooms smelt horrible. I got no sleep the whole night cause I kept thinking there was bugs either crawling on me or my son. Front desk and breakfast lady was super nice.
Came down to Columbia from Washington DC with my family for a few days, and while our hotel experience was great, I was particularly pleased with the service provided by Ms. Kim Wright. She is the epitome of southern hospitality and made my family and I feel welcome. We definitely look forward to staying here and seeing Ms. Kim again :)
Weekend Staff members were unfriendly and not at all helpful with the exception of one (I believe her name was Debora). She worked her tail off preparing breakfast and maintained a smile despite the fact the place was completely booked. It was definitely noticeable that there should be additional help in the kitchen during high volume days. She was so busy while the front desk person sat and watched Cheaters of all things on the television in dining room. Also left something in the room and called back 3 hours after departure. Front desk person said she would check and call us back. When we asked her name she would only say front desk. After 1.5 to 2 hours with no return call we had to call back. Her excuse was the room was locked! Really? Finally after calling back She checked lost and found then brushed us off and told us to check with the housekeeping supervisor on Monday. Needless to say with all of the wasted time my item could not be found.
On Friday, March 23, we checked in, for a weekend visit for our son's accepted student day at University of South Carolina. After being in our room for a couple of hours, my son told my husband & I that there were bugs crawling on the sofa bed—I went to investigate—-sure enough—several small bugs crawling all over the sofa. We even looked underneath the mattress. Several bugs and casings. Every one looked just like a bedbug. All my might to not throw up. I called the front desk to let them know and tell them they needed to do something…my son could not sleep on that sofa bed. The same front desk lady said she’d have to call her manager to see what she could do, since they were sold out. We never received all back—so, after an hour, I called again. Got a different guy—said he’d call back within 15-20 minutes to see what he could. After 30 minutes of waiting for a call back, my husband & I went down to the front desk. We greeted Wayne at the front desk with a bag that had 2 of the bugs and told him we wanted a different room. He informed us he could not move us since they were sold out—-they did have rooms that guests were not in yet, but they had not arrived yet; that he had to hold those rooms until 2 AM. He refused to move us—said it the hotel’s policy to not move anyone into one of those rooms. Apparently they did not have extra mattresses either. Wayne did make several calls to see if there other hotels available; but the city was about sold out.
I stayed a week for a local automation project in a Suite. My family stayed here part of the week as well. First off, we arrived late at night and they were friendly and helpful accommodating our check-in. Unfortunately the room only ever gets a once-over, if that when it desperately needs a deep cleaning and some maintenance. In the morning, about 4 hours after check-in, I had to shower without light in the bathroom. I let the front desk know. They were very friendly and waited to relamp the vanity lights until my family was up and about. But the over head light was never fixed. Towels for the room which sleeps 6, were hard to come by. We left the hotel room each day a little cleaner by our effort. Towels for the pool are even harder to get. My wife asked multiple times over several hours to finally have pool towels. A late night party just before we arrived left the pool unusable and littered with beer cans, bottles etc. For a day. The water was green from St. Patrick's day libations and The elevator is filthy and jerky. The dryer is broke. We asked about it the first day. They politely apologized each time and said they had to have someone look at it. When I could wait no longer, I used the filthy washing machine and the dryer's "out-of — order" tag was scribbled on paper so old that it was yellowing. Had to dry the load at a local laundromat. The breakfast is adequate if you get up early. They run out of items frequently.
They charge my card, then when I got to the property, they stated that the manager cancelled my reservation, due to my card decline, which it did not due to a pending charge on my account all $250+. Then told me that they had no more rooms available. I went across they street and the clerk across the street told me I was the fourth customer that came from Country Suites Inn Harbison with the same issue. That the manager of the property was cancelling all third party bookings to book straight through the hotel. First time I ever stayed here was amazing, but they don’t have to worry ever again unless they get a new manager!
Not a great place to stay if you're traveling for business. The breakfast doesn't start untill 8 and for most business travelers this is too late so you're not really getting the benefit of the good breakfast that they offer. The market store in this location also doesn't allow you to charge to your room or even a credit card because the "system isn't set up for that" so you can only use cash if you actually have any in your pocket these days. The rooms are well designed but overall mine was dirty and the bathroom was in need of some repairs. Overall it was a okay stay and the staff, other than the guy working at night, where friendly. I would just not recommend this location if it's for business as it's not set up for that customer at all.
I stayed for one night and enjoyed their inside pool although the room I stayed in was not very clean and had an awful, dirty smell. The dresser had pizza stains from the previous guests and AC was extremely dirty. The shower was disgusting and carpet was not vacuumed or attempted to be cleaned. There was a huge gap between the TV stand and wall so I was able to see a bunch of trash left behind it and a lot of dirt. It didn’t seem as though the cleaning people did a thorough job. The employees were very nice though. If it hadn’t been for the entire room being gross I would have given a higher rating. I really wish the room was clean so I felt comfortable to stay there again.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! I usually don't complain about hotels online, but this one forced me to do so. The rooms were dingy, the carpets were stained, and the hotel was not kept up very well. The Wi-Fi was also very slow and kept bumping my devices off the network. The lady at the front desk was very rude and dismissed herself halfway through helping me because she "needed a cigarette". It took me over 20 minutes just to check in and when I finally got into the room, it hadn't been properly clean. I asked for another room, and the next one they put me in did not have a working shower. I decided to suck it up and not change rooms again. The next morning, the waffle maker was out of order, the bagels were stale and there was dried crud around the spout of the milk pitcher. On the third night the couple in the room next to mine were making… lets just say "passionate" sounds so loud I could hear them through the walls. I mean… YUCK! On the fourth night, someone burned something on the third floor smoking it up so badly that it sent me into an asthma attack… AND I had to change rooms for — that's right — a third time. Definitely will not be coming back!
NASTY ESTABLISHMENT! Bed bugs in several different rooms. The breakfast clerk is never on time and very rude. Front desk is never at desk because they do housekeeping work left by the filthy housekeepers. Houseman does no work because the lobby floor is always dirty. The rooms are old and out dated. The carpets are filthy and disgusting. The only good carpet is in room 315, but that's because a person was MURDERED in that room. So the ownership had no choice, but to change the carpet. It would be a nice property under new ownership and management. The GM is stupendous. Just wish the owners would invest more money instead of being cheap. The property shows the cheapness. Lights out in hallways and in the pool area. Dumpster overflowing outside. It just looks like a dirty place and the prices should be less than what you are paying.
I live in town but have some family abroad and they have always given me a good price. This is always where I take visiting family and know they will enjoy it. Also the pool is very nice and open year around.
The price was right, the room was clean, the beds comfortable, breakfast was decent and the staff was very friendly. My only beef was the room was over sprayed with some chemical that irritated my nose and lungs and I could not open the window to air it out. It seemed turning on the a/c full blast sucked out the offending fragrance. I recommend. We stayed here for the Janet Jackson concert. The Lyft to the Coliseum was 14.00 to the concert and 31.00 on the way back.
My first impression of the hotel was nice and very comfortable… however upon checking out today I was disturbed by what appeared to be a very rude employee with a name tag that read Vanessa m, the other employee did not have on a name tag, the one with the name tag was talking very rude and aggressively. I enjoyed my stay as well as the service except for that experience I did not understand why that happened nor why it happened in front of guests.
I enjoyed my 3 nights here quiet no disturbances. The rooms were not dirty. The staff was very nice and professional. The people who stayed here also appeared to be professional people. No riff Raff here I'll stay again.
Staff was friendly. Hot breakfast with decent size dining area. Clean hotel with awesome water pressure. Decor is a combo of upgrades some still needed. Comfortable beds.
Great stay! Stayed one night. Breakfast was delicious. Ella was great! She assisted a customer who spilled some water. He was trying to clean it and she told him she would get it! Great customer service! *By the way!, she makes a great pot of coffee! ❤️
Great stay for game at USC. Breakfast which starts at 7 am offers a wide selection. Dining room was clean, orderly and the service was great. I noticed one visitor who had a spill and the dining room attendant Ella was courteous and quick to clean it up. Where can you go, spill something and get someone letting you know I will take care of it. Such a reassurance.
NOT clean! First impression of the room walking in, we were taken aback by the moldy smell. Stepped one foot into the room and noticed what appeared to be a blood smear on the bathroom door casing. I went online to look at reviews on the Facebook page where I had "checked in" at the location. Seems the smell and dirty rooms are common. I left and went to purchase sanitizing cleaning wipes. When I returned and MOVED NOTHING, just wiped the bathroom counter that was open, the wipe was immediately DIRTY! This tells me that cleaning staff don't do the simplest of cleaning. I saw bugs alive and crawling, dead bugs, stains on the chair in the room. Decided to walk around and check out the breakfast area and see the set up. We stepped onto the tile portion in front of the serving counters and our feet "stuck" to the floor. Gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be mopped by morning. NOPE, everyone just kept walking around and it sounding like Velcro with every step. I really wanted to like this location. It is convenient and I travel to Columbia monthly. Breakfast was good and the room was quiet. I would suggest some repairs, FIRE THE CLEANING STAFF and start over because they're not doing their job and train desk staff to be more aware of customer needs. I went to the front desk SEVERAL times and NO ONE was around! Also, get someone in there to fix the AC/ Heating units. They're making people sick with mold!
Great hotel. Rooms are clean, nice, and bright but a bit on the smallish side. Amenities are great. If only it had a bar I would give it 5 stars.
The rooms were nice, everything was comfortable and satisfactory. The breakfast was okay, on the smaller side as far as selection goes but the rate is very fair so it balances out. Overall it was a nice stay.
Hotel is decent for the price you're paying. It isn't in the greatest area with just a gas station that is walkable to. Pros: seemed cleaner than I thought it would be inside. Shower was renovated with good water pressure and drained good. Air worked fine once I cranked it up. Price. Staff was friendly. Had a fridge and microwave. Breakfast for free. Cons: no bar, no walkable restaurants or things to do. The sink had little water and water pressure. I found some stains throughout the hotel and attached pictures to show. Looked like it could be mold starting to grow above the sink. The hotel was set to 81 degrees in my room and 79 in the hallway. That's insanely hot and encourages mildew and bed bugs. The air did work well once turned on and wasn't loud once I turned it on. The walls are thinnnnn, be prepared to hear all of your neighbors conversations.
Great hotel. Rooms are clean, nice, and bright but a bit on the smallish side. Amenities are great. If only it had a bar or would give it 5 stars.
Not a place for a family to sleep but if you're kidless and don't mind the noise and loitering… Definitely overpriced.
I can honestly this was the nicest hotel I have stayed at in awhile. Room was very spacious & clean! The hotel was in the perfect location near shopping centers, restaurants, and movies. There were some difficulties when it came down to the free breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!
The suite was incredibly luxurious as well as the bathroom and pool. It was a very pleasant overnight stay with a delightful breakfast in the morning. Service was fantastic, the staff was very friendly!
My wife and I have stayed at the Country Inn & Suites a number of times. This is our second visit at the one in Columbia. Always clean and staff is always accommodating.
Friends booked a suite here. There were huge stains on the carpet and the furniture was well worn. The surrounding area and the hotel ended up being so loud that my friends left for another hotel in the middle of the night. It may be a bit cheaper, but there are clearly some trade-offs for that.
Check in was easy; room at first glance looked great until you see the huge stain in one chair then the huge tear in the computer chair. No towels at all in bathroom, but the staff did respond in a fairly timely manner to this issue. Very noisy with kids running through the hallways! Beds hard and uncomfortable; pillows were terrible! Hotel in good proximity to shopping/eating etc. Only real plus is indoor pool although it's small-only goes to 4 1/2 feet. Could not find a soul upon checking out; rang bell and called from cellphone while standing at front desk… first and last stay.
This was most nastiest, filthy, room I've ever been in! When we got there we had to wait 1 1/2 to check in. When my family and I got in there I went to check everything out, the carpet had huge dirt/burn spots, and found huge nasty spots on the sheets. Called front desk, she said she was sending the housekeeper back in to change it. My family and I decided to go out and have a little fun. When we got back I checked to see if things were changed to look at the sheets and see a set blood spot on it! I was furious, I then went back downstairs to ask for a refund, and the last at the desk tells me she can't do anything, I would have to wait until Monday to talk to the manager. I then tell her we were leaving and I needed a receipt, she tells me she can't provide one until 2am-3am, meanwhile it's only 11pm! Not only was the to filthy, the customer service sucked as well. I will not send anyone to this hotel especially room 412! I have pictures of it all!
My elderly parents (78 and 75 years old) stayed at the Piney Grove Road location. It wasn't a very good experience for them. Sure the room was quiet and had a nice fridge and microwave, but the handicapped bathroom flooded due to a drainage issue and there were no grab bars anywhere. It's a very dangerous situation, and the staff were very unfeeling and dismissive. One employee gave my mother an old towel and said that she "shouldn't use our good towels to mop". She's 75 years old! Room 118 should be locked up and never used or someone needs to get that room up to standards, or risk having some other elderly Mom or Dad fall and get seriously hurt! The only good thing was the nice breakfast that was served. My parents will not be staying here again.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Worst experience ever with any hotel that I have ever stayed. They took charges out of my account that were not authorized because my fiance's card was kicked out for the extra nights and they never caught it. I caught the error when checking my account. The hotel did nothing to assist and only said it had to wait until the following day for another worker. This was illegal since I never authorized the charges to my card other then 1 night of stay. Bathroom and total rooms are disgusting even after "cleaning services" were provided. Do not stay at this hotel!
Location is fantastic, very close to downtown Columbia (and even closer to Palmetto State Armory). Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, good breakfast. Clean and bug-free. Definitely recommend.
Would definitely stay here again! Quiet, clean room with a VERY comfortable bed! Hot tub is nice and big. Pool only goes up to 4 feet so wonderful for small children. No pool towels when we got to the pool, but found a staff member who brought several to pool area. Staff very friendly. Breakfast included items such as eggs, sausage and grits as well as yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Breakfast hostess even came around, more than once, and picked up our trash (and this was on Easter)! Highly recommend this hotel. Only downside: Elevator is quite slow, but there's always the stairs!
DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT make the decision to overlook this hotel based on these negative reviews! This is by far one of the BEST HOTELS IN COLUMBIA S. C! We've stayed here on several different occasions and will continue to do business with them.
Stayed 2/11/16 and it was great. Room was clean and quite. Was scared after reading bad reviews but glad I gave them a chance.
The check in process wasn't terrible, you do need to fill out a paper, so a mom, traveling alone with my 16 month old, made holding him, our bags, and a pen difficult. We were given our room, went in and the lamp shade was broken, there was 0 information in the room about the surrounding area, which you usually see at the majority of hotels. When I asked the front desk about take out options that delivered I was given 2 Chinese buffet brochures and 1 paper with Dominoes number on it. After driving 8.5hrs with my son, I was not wanting to go back out. Dominoes it was (horrible by the way). When I went to take a shower, since we were there over night, I expected to see mini bottles of shampoo/conditioner etc. I had conditioner, no shampoo, however in the upper corner of the tub was a half used shampoo bottle and a half used bar of soap. I'm hoping the housekeeping staff just failed to notice it and actually cleaned the bathroom. On the bathroom note, my toilet never stopped running. That was slightly annoying when in the bathroom, due to my son's sound machine I thankfully didn't have to listen to it all night… At one point I was looking for ice. Never once was told ice is located on the first floor, I searched all over the second and there were no signs or indications on where to find it. The pool wasn't bad. Walking by it later I saw someone in the hot tub surrounded by a ton of bubbles.
The room was a very nice size. Very clean looking place. Great service as well!
Front Desk staff great! Room was disgusting. Was not vacuum, Trash on and inside on mattress of pull out couch, mattress pad was spoiled, bed comforter was dirty, toilet was dirty, bathroom floor was dirty, mirror was broken and low enough to were a child can cut his hand. Breakfast was standard.
Great price, clean room, nice pool n hot tub! Awesome breakfast, and friendly cook! What more could you ask for.
I stayed here at the end of April 2015. What happened to Country Inn and Suites? I checked in around the 9pm or so. As usual, the clerk was in the breakfast room watching TV. She walks up behind me and she has on what looks like sleeping clothes and flip flops. She says loudly and happily, "I'm her last check in", so I joke back with her and say "awesome, maybe I can get free upgrade? " She goes on to tell me crudely, that I don't get a free upgrade because I don't have the right Club Carlson status. She is smiling while talking to me but she is rude at the same time. Note to all customer service reps: just because you are smiling when you are rude, does not make what you are saying pleasant! " I go up to my room and realize that I don't have any cups. The next issue was that the toilet seat was very loose and when I sat on it, it moved all over the place. That kind of gross me out. I called the front desk and let the clerk know that I don't have any cups in the room and toilet seat is loose but instead of offering another room, she says come get some cups and ignores my toilet seat complaint. Frankly, I should have asked for another room because unfortunately it was the beginning of the problems. I go get the cups and after that I went to bed. The next morning I go to take a shower and I realize there is a dirty wash cloth hanging on the shower rod, which grossed me out even farther. I later find spilt coffee inside of the microwave.
Absolutely disgusting. First my reservation was canceled. Was never notified. My stayed not even a night before we had to move them to another. Stains all over the floor. Staff extremely rude. I will make sure it is know that this is the worst hotel ever.
Let me start out by saying I tried for two weeks to get a reservation at this hotel without success. I was staying as part of a group and needed the group rate for our conference. I left multiple messages for Dan to contact me. I would be told I could call him back between 11pm and 7 am or he would call me. He never did! Finally, I had to contact the group representative to get the reservation made. I decided even thought I had that poor customer service before even going there, I would not let it effect my stay. Our group was checked in and I was even given a jacuzzi suite. In my head, I though, "Not a bad deal. " Boy was I wrong. When I walked into the room, the sheets and cover of the bed were pulled up, but not neatly made. Also, the pillows were just piled to one side and the bed had indentations, making it look like someone laid on it after it was "made up. " I thought, ok. Maybe the maid was busy because of the big group and didn't get it completely finished. I had my own pillow and wouldn't use them anyway. There were also cigarette burns in the comforter. That night, after returning from dinner, I realized there were no towels in the bathroom, just a couple hand towels. Being 10pm, I wanted to get some to have for the next morning. I called down to the front desk and was told they were washing and it would be at least an hour *click* (hung up on). Not wanting to wait, I called the rooms in our group and found some towels.
BAD, BAD, BAD! this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my whole life, two times change room and 2 times were very dirty. did not get room service, no towels, no papers, NOTHING!. the pool was dirty and the spa, did not work, all Bad! servicio del cuarto y limpieza, mala, muy mala! piscina source y tent mal olor, el jacuzzi no servía. A mi esposo le gusta la piscinas, y en la semana que estuvimos ahí, nunca pudo ir ni una sola vez, Jamás volveré a este hotel.
The worst experience I ever had in a hotlel I will not mention what was the problem because is too mucho starting in the desk and finish in the pool! Everything was Nasty or poor service. A lot of service isnt works, and the ones that was working it was nasty or partial out of service, the room service was horrible, bad, poor and nasty please if you gone stay here may sure is not even a parking lot available to stay it will be better.
I had a great experience during my visit. The hotel looks brand new and is very clean. The front desk clerk went out of his way to help us find directions to where we had to go around the city. We were in town, unfortunately, for a funeral and the room my sister rented had two queen beds which really helped split the costs between the both of us. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.
VERY unfriendly and incompetent! This is by far the worst Country Inn and Suites I've ever stayed at. My lady and I stayed from Nov 27-29 2014. The front desk clerk was very unfriendly. He checked us in without asking how we were doing, he never told us about the amenities that the site had to offer, he handed us the keys without even telling us which floor we were one. The heat in the room constantly changed from hot to cold which was aggravating. After several failed attempts of calling from the room, we finally reach front desk by calling from personal cell phone. We requested breakfast times and was given the wrong information. We were told that breakfast was over at 10:30 so we arrived downstairs at 9:55, only to be informed that it ended at 9:30. Front desk never smile, housekeeping looked mean, the room didnt have enough towels so we had to wait until next day to get more towels and rags since front desk didn't have extra behind the desk. The curtains/blinds in the hallway were torn and hanging off of the rods. It was just an awful experience and we will not be returning. We should have stuck with our usual location on East Exchange Blvd in Columbia. Do not go to this one.
DO NOT STAY HERE! If you want Country Inn and Suites, to charge over $500 for a one night stay. I stayed here from July 5 and checkout July 6. I am going to start from the beginning of this HELL hotel. When I arrived at the hotel they had a rude clerk that seemed like she was very unhappy at her job. I wanted to check the room before I check in and that seem like an issue. I was next to kids banging on the wall. So I could not sleep, so I decided to check my bank account they had charge me a total of 563.08. I don't have money to waste. I have been a long time customer with Country Inn and Suites and this hotel is far by the worst. I am a Carlson Club memeber. Do not be fooled by the bell and wistles of the apperance of this hotel. The reason I was charge this fee was because the rude clerk decided since I was black that I looked like I belong to the Jehovah Witness Group. I gave her my i. D. And reservation number and had my reservation and she still charges me for 3 nights. The tight wade owner refuses to instantly give me any of the money back. The owner is only concern with making money so if you have any complaints and you are not satisfied with your stay get ready to go to HELL to get your money back in any capacity. I log onto my bank this morning only to see another fee was added to my card. If you want your money and your peace of mind stay away from this hotel. The food was horrible the eggs were rubber and liquid taste and the sausages were dry.
Checked in at 5pm, room not ready, nothing touched, and check in time is 3pm. Went to another room, no sheets for sofa bed. Next day, came back 5pm, room not touched. Called desk, they said service not done for day, they get by your room. Come 7pm, nothing, called again, desk said should get by. Come 8pm, no call from desk, nothing to ask if we got room taken care of. Finally, went myself and got some towels at 8pm. Checked out after two nights. Not a word from desk person, no hello, how was your stay, bla bla bla. Nothing. Just ask for room number and paid bill, very impersonal. Only pleasant part of stay was breakfast and lady there very sweet and glad to service us. Won't stay there again.
Very grossed out about what happened to me at this hotel. First of all at breakfast I couldnt get the toaster to work and the guy working there put his hands on my toast and then wanted me to eat the toast after. He was not wearing any gloves and who knows where his hands had been. Also The girl at the front desk was very rude to me I flew in on a red eye and they didnt have my room ready when I had confirmed they would have it ready. I will never go there again. If you stay in this area I found the Hilton was alittle more money but way more nicer and better service.

Whatever you do when traveling, please don’t stay here! Staff very rude. Not to mention the bed bugs and they even leave food from previous guest if you’re hungry! I booked these rooms for my uncle Steve who is very sick to attend his daughters graduation and it was that bad, they left with 20 minutes and wouldn’t give a refund, that’s ok thought I will be getting those refunds done today! Also Ms. Thomas was very rude, she needs to put in laundry so she’s not bothered by guest checking!
