The employees were all very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and a very convenient location. I will be staying there again when I go back to see my son once he comes back from sea again. Great pricing also.

I booked two nonsmoking rooms in Norfolk. Both rooms smelled terribly like cigarette smoke. The rooms were in deplorable conditions. Both appeared to not be clean as there was dead bugs and dirt everywhere. The linens were also stained and one room didn’t even have a shower curtain. The kitchenette cabinets were following off the hinges. I will NEVER stay in a Motel 6 again after this experience. If I would give straight 0s if it were possible.

First off DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE! I got there at 3 pm when my check in time was, and they did not have a room available until 2 hours after that. The room overall looked disgusting. The blankets had blood and cigarette stains on them. The base of the TV was rusty and unstable. People kept congregating around my room and the pool all hours of the day blasting music and yelling. The walls are very thin all around you and you could hear a pin drop from outside. The bathroom door didn't close (the only purpose it had, and failed to do it). One night we went out for 12 hours and came back with he room smelling like marijuana. It didn't smell like that outside of the room, so I don't know if it was other tenants or the housekeepers. I understand a cheap hotel with the lack of amenities, but not cheap as in quality. The hotel staff did nothing to accommodate me or anyone else who had problems from what I saw. Book a room else for a little more closer to the beach. It's worth it, trust me. Oh and bed bugs. Yep. Seriously don’t go here.

I got in about 11:00 the first evening and got to bed about 12:30; at 1:45 the Fire Alarm went off (The most ear piercing sound). Then about 3 minuets later the Alarm went off again for about 3 minuets. The Fire Department came and stopped the alarm. The agent at the front desk said it would not come on again. It took about two hours to get to sleep because you were thinking it would come on again. The worst nights sleep I have had in a Motel ever. The next two nights were fine.

Stayed for memorial day weekend. I had 2 non smoking rooms but when I got home my clothe that was not used in my luggage smelled like I smoked 2 boxes. Towels smelled used and a weird swap smell to it. No toilet paper in the room. Beside all this, the size of the room is great. The A/C works great but I know it needs to be cleaned up. Close to the beach and good area. Will recommend to stay.

I always stay at Motel 6 for the convenience, and because it is dog-friendly. Staff are always nice and helpful. The price paid was a bit much for senior rate. The floor of the room is dirty and difficult to keep clean.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, but that room was horrible. It looked nothing like the pictures. The shower was filthy and had grime in the bottom. The sink and mirror was outside of the bathroom. The table/chair was raggedy. There was no iron/refrigerator. The phone was missing buttons, and had no chord plugged into the wall. The door did not look secure. There was a stain on the blanket. I received a refund immediately.

No problems with the room. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved that my dog could stay free.

Had no working ice machine, no microwave, or refrigerator in the room. They really need to upgrade but the staff was kind and friendly. Miss Cynthia was the best. She is the only reason I would go and stay back there! She was kind and friendly and made me feel at home.

The staff were so friendly! The price could be somewhat lower $53.00 for 1 person I feel is a little high, but the room was nicely remodeled. There were roaches in the bathroom I really am afraid of roaches. I saw 2 really tiny ones but they still make me sick. Other than that the place was great. I will definitely stay again. I realize people bring roaches to motels all the time, but motels should be careful with that by spraying all the time. Thank you.

The check in receptionist was rude and snobby, I asked about the military discount and she completely ignored it. I got to my room and was impressed with how clean it was. Was not impressed with how loud the other people staying in the room adjacent to mine were… their alarms were going off on their phones at 430am waking me up… the housekeeping staff was being loud and obnoxious outside the windows when they were cleaning other rooms. I think the only good part of my stay here was the woman who was at the desk when I checked out. I walked in and she greeted me with a smile the whole time, asked how my stay was and wished me safe travels as I was leaving to go back to CT. She was very professional. I wish I would have gotten her name.

My overall experience was bad. The rooms were dirty. There was a cleaning cart with trash and debris blocking the Stairway to get to my room. And the cart stayed there all night there is a next day. I stayed in 273 by the way. You have to pay for Wi-Fi. I would not come back and stay at this hotel or recommend it to anybody else. The only highlight of my night was the front desk worker. She was very professional and very courteous and very helpful as much as she could be. If I could give a rating just on customer service it would be a 5 stars because she was so pleasant but because the survey is for my stay as a whole I would only give it the one star.

WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! The woman in the front desk, who refused to give any identification, decided to throw us out after reporting 5 times that the heater was not working. We arrived with my husband and my 1 year old son around 9pm. Right away we noticed the heater unit was not working, room temperature was freezing cold. Outside temperature was 43F, March 3rd, they said they were switching shifts at that moment and asked us to call back in 15 minutes. We called back after 24 minutes and they told us they still switching shifts to keep waiting. I couldn’t believe they make us wait so long in such temperature, we were not able to sleep due to the cold temperature. We waited almost for 2 hours and we called again to seriously complaint that it is unbelievable that they haven’t done anything since we did the initial report and the front desk woman said that I shouldn’t be complaining since I wasn’t registered, that only my husband was registered when we did the reservation, that I shouldn’t be there. When we asked her to give us another room, correct the reservation, charge more or anything to fix the situation, by now it was midnight already, she said we were welcome to leave and that there were no other room available, which was a lie, most of the rooms were empty and that was showing online too. We were so shocked by the way this woman handled this situation, we always stay in Motel 6 since we travel a lot around the states, never had encountered staff like this.

Customer service were friendly and polite. The room was clean and spacious. I am enjoying my stay and I will be back next month. The location is near shopping center and I like that!

The night cashier was rude when I asked for a non handicapped room. She repeatedly told me that I couldn't use my e cigarette. To which I told her I understood her the first time. She then replied… can I do my job? I told her that she could if she just gives me a key to another room. She was rude and made me feel like she didn't care. I reported it to the morning staff and haven't heard anything back. If she doesn't like her job she should work somewhere else. I've stayed in that same hotel 15+ times last year. I shouldn't ever be treated like that. Also the water pressure in the sink was weak at best, and the tub was backed up when I took a shower.

I have staid here for a month and my favorite house keeper is kandi she is amazing. The staff at the front desk is amazing. Motel 6 on military highway will always be my first choice to go to. Room was clean. Guy at check in was nice and checked me in pretty speedily. Good lighting over parking lot area. Sheets looked clean. Was very short stay but I was pleasantly surprised at the cleaniness of the room.

Called the morning of my arrival to make sure I could get one of the rooms I requested because I can not climb stairs. The front desk clerk say he would give me the room I requested. When I checked in that night he had my room waiting for me. The room was clean and smelled good. The next morning when I went down for coffee the parking lot was clean also.

Very friendly staff and tremendous management. Clean rooms. However, I strongly urge a continental breakfast especially since your competitors 300 yards away offers the very nice and cheap show of appreciation to your guest and can be seen by your guest. I know cause I spent 10 nights there I just could not understand why you didn't.

The guy at the front desk was very polite. But the nightmare started when I entered the room. I was already too tired to complain. The sheets were dirty. Pillow case disgusting with hair. That made me check under the comforts and it was like they didn't take the time to change for at least a week. Hair of at least 3 different people I find in the sheets… including from the private parts looks like. I slept on top of the comforts and used a towel on top of the pillow. Disgusting.

The room itself wasn't the bad part. Much in the way of what was expected. However we booked with 3 in a room and only two towels and wash cloths were available and upon going down to the front desk and asking for another towel and hand rag from an otherwise distracted and less than helpful younger gentleman who was no more concerned with my lack of terrycloth than I of his cartoons and ready to sit back down with friend than help a patron.

The dude at the front desk was awesome and funny. Me and my little sister really liked him a lot. I don't remember his name but he was chubby with glasses. We got what we paid for with the room and all. My mom appreciated the free coffee in the morning.

When I arrived to check-in it seemed as though the staff did not want to be there. It was clear that they were understaffed and behind in room readiness. They told me I could check in at 3 pm, then kept telling me if I could wait 20 more min. In total I waited over an hour to get a room. Some people waited longer. As for the room, everything seemed neat and clean. You have to pay for Wi-Fi. The only other thing is that the walls seem to be very thin and sound travels to other rooms because when I had music on around 9pm while showering I got very unexpected loud knocks from the room next door. Also I had to kill a cockroach and a spider… I gave 3 generous stars for the room's structure and price.

Had a great stay… I travel on a budget and found that the motel 6 was a great location and a great price… I hope to come down for a weekend in the fall and more than likely I will be staying at the same hotel… thanks for the accommodations. Hope to see you soon.

Wow, I came into an unfortunate situation and had to stay at the Motel 6 on Military highway in Norfolk VA. I swear, my children and I felt like this was home. The managers Katherine and Tanya were nothing short of amazing. They were respectful, understanding and kind. A front desk worker by the name of Shawn was really the bees knees. He was always pleasant and smiling and positive. The maintenance staff and housekeepers were always on point and I really didn't even have to ask for much. I ended up coming to this motel because of an unfortunate situation but just the sheer pleasantness off the staff took our minds off of it all. My kids really enjoyed themselves and felt they were on vacation! I will say this there was one staff member who wasn't so nice buy I don't even care to mention her because I don't want it to take away from the shine of the rest of the staff! They are a great team!

It was nice. But the only thing is that the guy that was in costumer service it was talking on the phone and he did not pay attention when we were asking him something. He was just looking at his phone. But it was good! I liked cause is not too expensive**:)

My experience here was a great one from checking in to checking out everything was great. Shawn had great customer service skills especially helping me with a situation during check in :-). One of the house keepers Mrs Tonya she wasn't assigned my room which was but she brought by clean towels and wash cloths after mine were picked up that morning but never received new. Overall my stay was a good one and I will consider staying here again when I travel back to Virginia.

The check in guys were great, they were very friendly. We had 2 rooms for the weekend to accommodate our family. The room were somewhat clean and smelled of smoke but it was not too bad. The water for the bathroom and sink did not work correctly. There were no appliances (microwave, refrigerator, blow dryer or ironing board and iron) to accommodate drinks, leftovers, warm food, dry our hair after swimming nor could we iron our clothes. We called for a second blanket and was told that they don't have any. And was told that the pool closed at 9pm and had the attendant tell me at 8 pm as I was getting in that the pool was closed because he needed to be home on time.

Still at this hotel with my parents. As soon as I entered I was disappointed. This hotel did not meet my expectations whatsoever. The pictures online didn't look close to what it looks like in real life. Lights take about 5 seconds to come on completely (they blink a lot then actually stay on). I hate the fact that you have to pay for Wi-Fi that barel works (and I'm using premium). The employees have attitudes like crazy like something just happened to them. I actually only like one employee, don't know her name. I could keep going but I don't feel like it. But in all honesty, I hate this hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever been to. It was so disgusting. So many bugs. My partner ended this trip with at least 25 bug bites from the 3 nights we spent in our room. Our bath tub was disgusting. The people who work here are extremely rude. You have to pay for Wi-Fi that barely works. Awful experience.

Despite the reviews I was very pleased with the staff and our rooms. Even though the front desk clerk was ill and they were short staffed I commend them for their great service! So I am asking you if your going to stay here please be mind full of the employees.

DISGUSTING! Overpriced, in room amenities were horrible, black mold in the tub seams, overall odor of uncleanliness in the room, outside areas filthy, wanted money to use Wi-Fi, Not a very safe-feeling environment. Very much a rent-by-the-hour type place. All hookers and your johns should go here!

This is a very bad place to stay. I had to call the corporate office because the room wasn't clean the Wi-Fi don't work very good and you got to pay for it and I had to wait for over a hour for hot water to start working. I call on here now they are put me and my kids out on the street with no where to go. Whatever you can do stay away from here.

5 years ago the motel was well managed and maintained. Now, the management is poor, and the room was beyond filthy. The floors are laminate and were slimey so I asked for a mop, to clean MYSELF, and was met with bad attitudes and no offer to do it as is their job. The floors changed their white towels black. Have never been in such a filthy motel before.

It was the nastiest hotel ever… The comforter was dirty and they were supposed to change it. Housekeeping never showed up. The receptionist was very unprofessional. The only reason I didn't demand my money back. Was because I was traveling with a group. Do not waste your money at that dump… they even charge for Wi-Fi…

DO NOT STAY HERE! Wifi is NOT free and it has bad connection! If you wanna enjoy your stay please pick another hotel if don't want to pay 4.99 a day for Wi-Fi.

I have never written a review for any place I've ever stayed. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. My room was located in the very back which was fine. However, there was no toilet paper in the room. I called and asked the front desk for some, they attempted to make me come get. I had sleeping children in the room. No go. I waited for over an hour to get it. The bathtub had a ring at least four inches thick all the way around (no exaggeration), there was freshly shaven hair on the shelf of the tub… there was nasty crap around the handle of the sink. I thank God I had my bleach with me. Also the ac stopped working the night before the room was so hot by checkout time. Never will I spend another dime at this particular hotel on military.

No microwave or fridge. You have to pay more for an efficiency to get a microwave and fridge. You have to run the hot water for like 10 min. To get it hot enough to take a shower. My door has a crack in it so wide you could see outside. Had to cover it with my jacket and pillow, so the cold air wouldnt get in. Had the heater on 80, but it kept blowing Cold air. Rolled back the sheets and they look dingy to me. Probably was the lighting. So, I just slept on the top of the blanket. I dont know if my room was the only one like this, but me personally I will not be going back. I was too tired didnt want to get changed to another room. Im just not going back.

When I checked in the front desk lady, her name is Joan was very rude. The first room they gave me had dirty sheets, only 1 towel, a used bar of soap in the bathroom, toilet paper in the toilet, and the shower was wet as if somebody had used it recently. The phone in the room did not work When I brought my concerns to the attention of Joan at the front desk she hung up on me 3 times. She did not want to change my room. And was very rude. She finally changed my room, but not in a timely manner. The manager never called me back regarding the stay. This is a very bad experience and I would not stay at another without first having a conversation with the manager or somebody at head office regarding this stay.

The place was recently renovated. New wooden floors, and clean. BUT there was no refrigerator. The water pressure was low. Took a good couple of minutes to get hot water to shower. Wished I stayed at a Super 8. For the same price I would have gotten a frig and a microwave.

This particular hotel was absolutely the worst experience I have had in many years. Accommodations are ok but the rooms are missing all the basic hotel amenities that any other hotel would provide (toothpaste, cups, ice buckets, lotions, lack of towels etc…). The guest service concept in this hotel needs to be closely monitored and I recommend that all employees conduct guest relation training. It was ridiculous that the front desk clerk tells me after a week of staying that they could not extend my stay because they had no rooms available and the best answer I got was "Sir you can check out find another hotel and check in with us at a later date". Really? It was all taken care but the initial action truly upset me. And the fact that the hotel has a policy of 7 night stays Do Not get serviced everyday, and no one informed me of this to begin with. The fact that this establishment is filled with rude employees makes it very unwelcoming. And to finish this I was very upset when I had to clean my room myself because after 5 days not one person knocked on my door to even remove the trash.

PLEASE STAY AWAY! After a bad experience back in April, I was extended a courtesy discount for the next visit. This time my stay was beyonf horrible, they didn't want to honor the discount, room was not ready at tinge of check-in, everyone at the front desk were rude and seemed untrained, the non smoking room was so thick with the smell of smoke I had to leave the door open for a while, I reserved a room for 2 when beds and got 2 double beds, the rooms in the back where I was seemed to be apartments with tons and tons of people in each room with pills of trash by the door and loud music, running, and telling all night. I paid an additional daily charge for a microwave and fridge that wasn't even big enough to fit 2 2-liter drinks.

Where to start. The floor throughout our motel room was disgusting as well as the bathroom and tub area. Dirt showed all over the bathroom, one of the drawers on the dresser was broken, someone had written on the headboard on the bed, the lights had awful lighting, never got our sheets changed on the third day and never got new towels even after asking the laundry lady! You had to pay for Wi-Fi which is absolutely absurd and I refused to pay for it and the "breakfast" they were supposed to have consisted of coffee. I am highly dissatisfied with this motel and will never stay in a Motel 6 again!

The worst motel in recent years. Dirty trash can with adjacent diapers etc. On arrival at 16:00 30 minute wait time and then the room not ready was always do when we got came. With $89 without Wi-Fi, without breakfast totally overpriced when compared to day'Inn, quality Inn, and sometimes even to holiday Express Inn. In countries 20 years I am every year sometimes twice a year in the United States, but I haven't experienced such an accommodation. The chain has been sold 2 or 3 years ago, but this was the height, except in Palm Springs East Canyon drive, I will visit a Motel6!

I wish there was an option for "I really liked it! " The staff was the stand out for me. They were so courteous and competent. They really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is great. I liked the modern look of the rooms. The beds were comfy and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was really convenient for us. Across the street from a mall with a movie theater (with 4$ matinees) and lots of restaurants. Our kids can't wait to go back when the pool is open.

I enjoyed the room. They are renovating them. I think they are turning out nicely.

Very pleased with the room, they have renovated the rooms since the pictures were taken its very nice. Very clean, friendly staff. This hotel was completely full glad I reserved the room.

Very cheap so you get what you pay for. Good news is that the exterminator was leaving as I arrived. Pool was closed and so was half the parking lot due to repairs. Seems that there are quite a few who use this place as a permanent residence. There was a lot of visiting going on outside the rooms and congregating going on in the parking lot. This hotel does leave a lot to be desired but if you have to pinch a penny, it will keep the rain off your head. The a/c in the room I had worked, but the a/c in ofc wasn't. Cleanliness was barely adequate. Am not likely to return.

This was the worst hotel ever. First of all people it's full of roaches! They were everywhere! All on the ceiling, inside microwave, refreg. Crawling on the walls! My daughter found a few in the bed with her! The mattress were very old and dirty looking! I was scared to lift the bed mattress up to look after my daughter found roaches in the bed with her! At that point I knew it was time to check out of that place. The carpet was nasty and bed sheets had yellow looking stains on them! Outside on the balcony walk way smelled like urine! The curtains were torn up. They looked like they were dry rotted or something. The hotel has a musty odor. It stinks. People have their dogs there too! Don't get me wrong I like dogs but these dogs were dingy and dirty and so were the people! Once again don't go there. The place is infested with roaches and really needs to be shut down! The hotel manager is very rude! All she cared about was making money for that dump of a hotel! It's really bad folks! Never again! 8/13.
