A budget friendly motel, with clean, decent size rooms. The staff was friendly, and it's located owe to the mall a d several other shopping venues. It's nothing fancy, but it's not a dump either. They do require a deposit.

The rooms are really nice. The bathroom is slanted and every room decor is different. Some rooms have flat screen TVs, others may not. Breakfast is from 5:30 to 9:30 in the morning. The pool area is open from 10 to 9 every day. They have a gym area for you work out in next to the pool. They are really good people here and you make new friends. There is always parking and its really quiet. If you pay in cash, you have to pay 50 as deposit and when you leave, you get it back.

Nice, comfortable and clean. Very accommodating staff and a decent breakfast.

When we first arrived at the hotel on Thursday, the area was pretty prevalent with drug addicts. Police have been here at least twice a day. The vending machines had a post it on it stating if you'd like a certain "sex act" to call a number. Several times a day I was approached by people asking for cigarettes and money. I arrived here with my family — a total of 6 rooms. One of our rooms for my nieces had no deadbolt and someone walked right into the room — a complete stranger since door Didn't lock! Paid the extra money for our dog. Well this morning, our dog was off leash to load up into car — not bothering anyone and no one around (small size shelter mutt — very timid and docile). The owner quickly came running in an aggressive way saying get the dog on the leash. We said ok — it's right here and went to go hook her up. He continued to follow us while threatening to call the police. We said ok — go away — since he was aggressively following us. He said you are evicted — get your stuff and get out! We said, " you allow drug users to panhandle and do drugs and police are here hourly but you are kicking us out because the dog was off the leash for less than a minute? " He replied, " you are here just like them! " All the while following us around the parking lot. I have never been so embarrassed and harassed, all for nothing. The front office/check-in ladies were sweet, maids great — manager? Jerk!

This is not a 2.5 star hotel. Do not get misled. Old and out dated rooms. Fridge sounds like it's going to explode any minute. If you are looking for cheap motel then this is your place. Surprised Wydham allows them to operate under their name.

Horrible Horrible experience at Hickory NC location. They kept our $50.00 deposit due to me washing my face and having makeup residue on two washclothes. That is unacceptable. We all know it's going to happen and there is no avoidance if you wear foundation. They would not provide me with the number for the owner or their supervisor. Aweful stay!

Not too far off the exit. Staff was very nice. Price was definitely not bad either. Great room, was very clean and comfortable.

Very high crime hotel. Police were called out numerous times with in the week we were there. Also bring your own towels they don't have enough to provide guest.

It was really great staying here the staff were all so nice. Not to expensive and great rooms.

The only reason I gave one star is because I had to… The room was dirty, bathroom was awful and there was stains on all the towels and at check out the lady that checked our room kept $10 of my deposit for stains on towels lol… Went to eat breakfast on Friday morning and was out of almost everything and would not restock. I use to stay here often but it's definitely not worth$80 a night and owner is VERRRY RUDE!

General manger Nayan Patel is extremely rude and does not put his general manager duties as a top priority for Baymont Inn. I own several businesses in Hickory and have always used this place for employees to stay that travel. I had always had a corporate rate and today he explained I should of never be given a corporate rate and was so rude about it. Tried to give me a price of $67 for a room when I have always paid $53 plus tax. Told him that the hotel that was beside him was $53 and Nayan Patel, he stated he did not care, to call my employee and ask them to leave the room. I have never been treated so badly by a manager of a facility that I was giving my business to for years. It's so sad, if one of my employees treated a customer like this they would not be with my company.

Room was nice, never enough towels after a refresh. Breakfast wasn't bad, cereals, breads and waffles.

I was disapointed. For a Baymont the hotel did not meet my expectation. While in the room someone was able to come in on us. We were told it was the general manager checking behind the maid staff. And he did not know we were in the room. My thoughts just check the system for vacant rooms. I did not like the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the water smelled like chlorine. And to top it off Belynda was not pleasant. She displayed attitude during check in Friday and check out on Sunday. I will not return nor recommend.

Very trashy. Door appears to have been kicked in. This looks like a hotel people stay at to partake in illegal activities. Just pay the extra $20 and stay somewhere decent.

Room smelled badly from smoke. They moved us and the New room smell like it too just not as bad. The room did seem clean.

The rooms are clean but a little old and run down. Though the mattress' seem to be new and extra firm. The shower has great water pressure.

This is an older style hotel but very well kept & updated. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. … And the price is right!

Conveniently located. Very nice restaurant's within walking distance. Very clean rooms, free breakfast, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Also by the pool house is a grill and two picnic tables for those of you that like to grill out. Cortney & Swain Lampkin.

The room is really nice and up to date for the price. It is right off the interstate and is in a good location. We stay here every time we visit this area.

My reservation was screwed up online. Desk clerk would not fix it. And she was rude. We ended up with two smoking rooms that we did not want… even though they were not full. The rooms were horrifically filled with stench. Went out to get Febreeze and Lysol just to mask some of it to sleep. It was completely awful. Will never stay there again.

My family and I recently stayed here for a one night stay for a funeral and it was perfect. Conveniently located right off of the interstate and very close to many restaurants. Staff was very friendly! Even offered to help carry luggage since we had our little one with us. Rooms and bathroom were very jeans, and bed was also very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again!

I thought it was nice and clean, staff was great. They could upgrade the TV channels, there's nothing good on TV no movie channel or good channels to choose from. Show time was ok. But overall goodstay. Lol.

I would like to start off by saying, I have no idea how this place got 3.5 stars I will give it no stars. Because this is the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. The beds are so used that they have big dents in them and the springs poke you, to the point that after driving ten hours I still couldn't sleep. I CALLED THE FRONT DESK, to tell them we would need another room with better beds. They said they would try to find us one. Then they call the room after to let me know that my grandson and granddaughter were not going to be aloud to use the pool with me. When we only stayed here for the pool. So I got upset and said something rude etc are you trying to get a bad review. Then the Gm for very upset tryed to strong arm me by telling me to leave right now it was 9am. I told him I would after a shower and he said no leave now. I told him again after a shower I would, so I took my shower then left. I would not stay here again if they paid me to stay. Very dirty, and gm has a very bad attitude! I gave one star cuz I had to I think for it to start.

What I expected to be a super cheap hotel ended up being acceptable and even had some good remodeling done lately I assume.

Pretty average hotel, right next to 40, good location for travel but not amazing by any means. The free breakfast was decent and made the experience a little above average.

Most locations are nice. However this one was lacking in most amenities. The room was conjoined to two other neighboring rooms, which was no large deal. The amount of outlets was to the point of unplugging a lamp to simply be able to charge a phone or laptop. The shower had mold lining the top, not to a strictly noticeable degree. But nevertheless, still a hazard for their health code. The blankets/sheets to be washed were literally laying in a pile OUTSIDE from the laundry room on the concrete ground. The hotel had no spare pillows to provide which was a bummer. A/C worked well, bed was comfy and rooms looked fairly pleasing. 6/10 wouldn't necessarily recommend for the experience and price in hand.

Tried checking in but had to wait outside in 30 degree temps. I called at the window and the clerk said" its locked because I locked it and I am in the bathroom" How classy. He came to window and was rude. When I got to the room, the lamps would not turn on. The blow dryer did not work. Beds were very uncomfortable. The coffee maker was not plugged in. No creamer or sugar. The shower head was slow to run and was outdated. Not like the pics at all. Approached the owner the next morning and he was very rude and dismissed my concerns, basically calling me a liar. He said the lamps were not plugged in. Well if this is true, the motel should be responsible for checking everything out before guests arrive. Am I supposed to move the furniture myself and check all this out upon arrival? Certainly not! This place needs updates, needs better customer service and needs to advertise what actually is at this motel. False advertising. The rooms are Not what the pics show. Do not stay here, you will be disappointed. Only booked because saw it was previous Jameston Inn and have stayed at Jameston before. Thought it would be a nice motel, but sadly it was not. Had terrible experience. The owner never apologized and instead was very rude.

For the money spent it exceeded my expectations by far. The best part was when we got home, my daughter realized she had left her prescription glasses. I called first thing Monday and they found them and shipped them to us. I offered to pay but they refused. That is legendary customer service and we will be back if ever in Hickory again.

Decent hotel friendly staff, clean room. Will definitely stay again.
