This hotel was below average for me. When we got up to our room, there were only 2 bath towels. The cleaning crew came during the day while we were gone and only made up the bed. They didn't give us any new towels (or take away our old ones), nor did they give us new shampoo, conditioner and soap. The breakfast was mediocre. We payed about $63 per night for the room. Even for that price I would expect better service. But again… you are also in Hickory, NC, so maybe you shouldn't expect much from that town.

Breakfast was not a gourmet meal by any means, but it was free so it went down very easily… Room was clean and quiet. Not much around this neighbourhood though…

Everything was great except the elavater smelled bad of cigarettes. I have asthma and its very hard to breath around it. Also we asked for a handicap shower and there was no shower chair.

It’s not fancy but it’s clean and the front desk is helpful as far as getting you what you need no matter the time (towels, plastic ware, etc).

I have stayed several times at this motel, and of all of my nights away from my bed, it was one of the worst experiences. Opon arriving at the motel, we were greeted by a lady, mumbling and talking to herself, as she picked through the small pebbles that lined the sidewalk along the front of the motel. It made me a little apprehensive to exit the safety of my car to check into the room. After watching her a few minutes, and seeing other guest enter and exit with safety, I proceeded with caution to the desk. I had just finished earlier that day from selling some items online, and one person paid me with mostly loose change for a $75 purchase. I didn't have the change rolled, but I did present it to the worker in dollar increments to make it easy. I then asked the two staff, if they were aware of the lady outside the front doors, and they had noticed. As I exited the front to park my car, the motel security guard pulled up beside my car, blaring some rock music. If I had not seen "security" on the car, I would have thought it was a group of younger people Jamming out. He asked the lady who was of concern to us if she had room. She replied with her room number, name and the name of the person who rented the room. He walked into the building, and never approached the lady or any other guest, meanwhile the lady continued to play in the white pebbles in the front of the motel.

Great service, very pleasant staff, clean room, good breakfast! Enjoyed my stay!

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little older by for the price it was great. I will be back.

This is the absolutely worst place to stay. We had 3 rooms and they are smoke free but smelled like smoke. We were staying for 3 nights and left before night 2 because police were there for drug and prostitution on the floor we were on. Just keep driving and find another place to stay. Not family friendly at all!

Room was nice, food was ok, some of the food was alot better then other like the eggs are horrible, and the police would stop you in the parking lot for no reason asking for ID, I guess its good in a way, seems they have their own free personal security because they are always there. Staff was excellent, but im editing this review and taking down a star because their Wi-Fi is horrible. Needs to be redone as far as router layout, proper channelling, maybe even needs a few extenders as of now cant keep a steady connection.

Overpriced location for starters price gouging Since no close by competition. Plus night management lazy does nothing about dog barking. And brat yelling in hallway (I nixed this I told them this isn't trailer park) some of us have to work … never again will I stay here.

The hotel is conveniently located off the highway. The accommodations were very nice and the staff was incredibly pleasant. The only negative feedback I have is regarding the elevator. It was shaky and very small. It took too long to get from the first floor to the 3rd floor for my liking. Otherwise, I'd visit again!

Felt welcomed the first day I stayed. But the second day, not so much. They wanna force you out the moment it's time to go, despite knowing the situation ahead of time. It wouldn't be a problem if wasn't able to pay for the room or get it handled. But the front desk person (who was asian) seems to have a no tolerance attitude (I'll admit that it was cute) when it comes to kicking people out and getting room service to clean up. I had to stress for two hours to get a second day to stay, despite the fact that they know they get truck drivers to give them business. The manager wasn't really pleasant either. He sounded more like a strictly business minded man. Overall, my stay was welcomed the first day. But checking out… well… that seems to show their true colors.

I asked the guests here how the rooms were before we checked in and I was told that they were unsanitary and needed better housekeeping. I was then warned not to use the coffee makers in the room, & to clean out the microwave and refrigerator also the hot tub if we did a suite. So we went and grab some bleach wipes and some bleach and sanitized the room. The laundry was clean and nice. Of course you'll need to bring your own blanket there is none on the bed. Front front desk was very nice and helpful. The continental breakfast is the best thing about this place it is absolutely wonderful.

Needed a room because of local storm. Manager was very nice and accommodating getting us a room. He let me check room before booking. Room was clean and all lights, water and appliances working. Recommend. If you need a room.

I had to stay in a smoking room and the first room they gave me looked like someone left it 5 minutes ago. It was not made up at all. The “suite” they gave me to make up for it was just as bad if not worse. A huge stain on the comforter that had obviously been there for awhile. Cigarette burns on the blanket, stains all over the bathroom, the room smelled awful, all over a horrible place to stay. I recommend to everyone who is thinking of staying here… DON’T. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I can’t believe they are still in business.

Very disappointing. Hair dryer didn’t work and they didn’t have another one for me to use. Only one full size towel in the room for 2 guests in a king suite. No comforter on the bed just sheets. Had to go ask for a blanket. No cable. Sprinkler in the bathroom was coming out of the ceiling. The worst was the nasty handprints on the headboard of the bed. Will never stay here again and will not recommend.

They have “free” breakfast. It was gross they legit have a bacon police. This guy comes out randomly and gives 2 strips of bacon to the lucky people that will be out there getting food at the right place and right time. Obviously it’s the hotel owners, no doubt Indians — trying to save money. Not much there was edible and even the bacon police was giving out cold burned bacon. It was a shame. My son wanted to make sure I picked a hotel with a pool… well that didn’t work out. The pool was beyond disgusting and had green algae and such all over the bottom and sides of the pool. It was a very poor experience and I won’t be back… oh and the beds were terribly hard and I may have only gotten 2 hours of sleep.

It was better than we expected. Beds & room were clean & comfortable. Bathroom was in need of some cleaning — — there was past guests hair on the counter & floor. Continental breakfast wasn't much to speak of. But, it was, overall a decent experience.

We had trouble with orbitz. They had booked the wrong dates for the hotel. When I got to the hotel the manager Dee Pastel helped me straighten out the reservation and got me checked in quickly. He did a very good job you should be proud to have him working for you. The pool was very nice just the right temperature. The room was clean and bed was pretty comfy. Everyone was very kind. Thanks for the great experience.

Let's start with the outside of the hotel. First they have three flagpoles and two flags up. Guess which one is missing… ran by Indian. That is right, they refuse to fly the American flag. Then they would only give me one room key for two people. They said it would be a dollar for another one. We get to the room and in the bathroom we get a used bottle of shampoo and the shower curtain rod was broken so the shower curtain wouldn't stay closed. The hair dryer was ripped off the wall and there was a hole left there. Only one light bulb in vanity so very dim in the shower. Gang sign written on the wall in sharpie. No TV remote. All appliances and lamps, coffee maker, alarm clock, phone unplugged. Sheets had so many cigarette burns that they looked like Swiss cheese. Fridge doesn't close. OH yeah and brown water came out of the shower and bathtub faucet. That is all. Other than that it was ok.

The room was great to sleep in: comfy bed, convenient outlets to charge my phone (as in on the nightstand, not the wall), and the blackout curtains were super helpful for sleeping in a bit. I could actually soak in the bathtub, which was delightful. It was clean, and the staff were helpful. And the location is quite close to downtown Hickory. The only (minor) complaint I had: if the waffle iron was working, there was neither spray to keep the batter from sticking, nor were there clear instructions on how to use either the batter dispenser or the waffle iron. So, I just grabbed some of the delicious biscuits instead and went on my merry way. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would recommend others to stay there.

Staff was friendly, large clean room, has a fridge. Good beds, clean sheets, soft pillows, no bed bugs, just what I needed. The place serves breakfast. Had a pretty good selection. Biscuit and gravy, eggs, home fries, waffles, yogurt, cerial etc. Over all very satisfied, and for the price I really couldn't ask for more.

My husband was there, the cleanliness was very poor and he had to check out after a few hours because he found bed bugs in the bed. This will be reported to the department of health. This is unacceptable!

Staff was great. Accessible location to 321. Rooms were as you would expect. Recommend as an overnight stay.

This is an older property but it appears the owner is trying to make improvements. The bed and TV in the room were new (there was an old tube TV sitting in the hallway. — so they may have just gotten them) but the sofa in the king suite was old and worn. Still functioned but was not nice. The hallways on the first floor were a little dark as well. Bedding was updated and nice. Overall worth the price we paid and would stay here again.

Not sure if I will be staying here again. I come here for work and the days inn is convenient for me. I looked online for the number to call them and it said they had rooms available so I called immediately and was told they were sold out. So I refreshed my page and it said there were rooms. I called back and again was told there were no rooms. I went to a different website and they also said there were rooms so I called back a third time, talked to someone different and there were miraculously rooms. Fast forward, I wasn't sure if I was going to need a room again. I told the receptionist when I was checking in and she said no problem. I also said though, if I did want a room the next night I wanted to move into a non smoking room. She said that was fine just let them know but 10 am and they could move me into one of the first rooms cleaned. Well, I went down at 5:45 am to tell the receptionist and he was completely rude. Never once did he leave from where he was watching TV. Said that there were no rooms because they were sold out the night before. I brought up the moving into one of the first rooms clean and he said it wasn't possible, he couldn't help me and that was all. He said that was all like he was dismissing me. So am I staying tonight? No. Am I going to one of their competitors, most likely. Do I plan on staying at other Wyndham places, I'm not sure now.

This is absolutely the best hotel in hickory! Their prices are unbeatable, complete with a pool, weight room, continental breakfast (two different times) laundry services, computer with a printer, flat screen TVS, Wifi, EXTREMELY clean/comfortable rooms, and the most friendly, kind, helpful staff I have ever came across in hickory hotels! I am defiantly coming back, and this hotel will be the ONLY one I spend my hard earned money on. I highly recommend Days Inn & Suites, and cant wait to come back! :) :) :)

Stayed before with no problems but this time it was pretty bad! 1. I booked a smoking room on Expedia but they gave us a non-smoking. Which was fine with me cuz I dont smoke but my mom does so she was annoyed. 2. The first room they sent us to was NASTY! Trash everywhere, rotten food and spoiled milk in the fridge, and poop in the toilet! They did send us to another room after that that was clean but I still had the smell of rotten canteloupe in my nose for hours cuz I am pregnant. Yuck. 3. The bedding was stained with what looked like pee but I bring my own pillow and blanket when I go anywhere anyway. 4. The pool wasnt very clean with chunks of concrete in the bottom and hair that kept wrapping around my feet. The steps and sides were rough enough to hurt you and there were no steps on the ladder in the deep end. And there is a step down when you open the gate that should have been more clearly marked, there should have been a sign. 5. The continental breakfast wasnt very good. They had one of those waffle things but they didnt have it plugged in and no batter in it! And they were rationing out the bacon! The COLD bacon! They only gave us 2 pieces apiece. All in all, I guess it isnt a bad place for the price if you get in a clean room, if you just need a place to crash for the night. I would give it more than 2 stars except that they didnt offer us an upgrade but we heard they offered other people upgrades.

The hotel was neat and clean. The staff was very nice and professional. Breakfast left a bit to be desired, but overall was decent food. The only real problem we had was a bad smell (mild in strength) that kinda reminded us of sweat socks. That may have been a temporary problem and really didn't bother us much after our first impression.

I'd give it less if it would let me… I talkyd to a manager about special rates for family/friends coming for my daughters wedding. They quoted me $56 a room and then told my people booking $70 plus a room. I cancelled the rooms I could, yall stay elsewhere.

This was the perfect room for an overnight stay. My bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. My only complaint is that it took about ten minuets for the hot water to warm up in the shower.

The hotel is nice and the people working are okay but one night we didn't have hot water and that truly was a downer after working all day and needing a hot shower.

I had no big issues with the room my boyfriend and I booked. It was a bit more than what we usually pay for a room but we got the jacuzzi bathtub, the faucet was shaky but workable, the tub drained fine. We really enjoyed our stay here even though it was just a night. I'd stay there again for another night when it comes down to it.

I decided to book this hotel in advance for business travel while in Hickory NC. When I arrived to check in after driving to Hickory and working in the office all day, there were approximately 2 cars in the parking lot. My room was at the end of a dark hallway and was something from the 80's. The 2 draw dresser and the sink in the bathroom were so low that I thought I was in a wheelchair accessible room. The carpet was so bad that I was afraid to take my socks off and the tub was a huge jaccuzi. At checkout I asked the guy at the front desk if there were any plans to renovate the hotel in the near future. He replied nicely that 45 rooms had already been renovated. Now I am furious because they certainly did not have 45 guests that I could see when I checked out at 7:00 am because I could count the cars and trucks on the parking lot. Why was I given such a dump of room? I have my thought on that too. I was asked at the office where I was visiting if I could recommend the hotel for future employees and my answer was "NO". I will gladly pay out of pocket above and beyond government rate and drive farther out during my next visit.

Horrible night! People above me walked and moved the entire room all night long. I called the night clerk, several times, and he told me that was just them walking around and there was nothing he could do. He would not even go up and suggest for that room to be a little quieter, rather they would or not. He said there was nothing he could do. Day and morning clerks were nice as possible. I guess some people were born in a barn and have no respect for others regardless of what time of the night it is.

This is now the Days Inn and Suites. Even though the rate is $10 less than the Quality Inn rates, the services that have changed seem much more drastic. I found a LIVE roach in my room. Fridge wouldn't close properly. Washcloths are like sandpaper. The included breakfast is an afterthought. They didn't have waffle mix for the waffle maker. Juice dispenser is broken. No oatmeal, very few choices outside of limited warm breakfast except some stale donuts. Only powdered coffee creamer available. On the plus side, there is a new Waffle House practically in the parking lot of the hotel. Yum.

Well, this place pretty much sucks. Apon the first entry, the room smelled like a locker room/dirty feet, and the smell will not go away. The walpaper is coming off the walls, and the bathroom tub was dirty. The toilet flushes very poorly. The carpet is all discolored, the TV sucks, the fridge cant keep anything cold, and the AC/Heater unit has what looks like rusty mold inside the vent. The free breakfast was also quite poor. There was an area for steamers full of eggs or whatever else, but they were left empty. Some dry cereal, a crummy waffle maker, and juice just doesnt cut it. There is a nice facade when you enter, but beyond that don't even bother.

This place was not worth what we paid. The carpet was discolored in several places. The border of the tub has mold. In the closet there was Doritos and crumbs scattered. There was a hair band on the floor. The toilet didn't flush properly. The fan in the bathroom sounds as if a plane is going to land at any moment. The room has an odor. Another issue was that I thought I reserved a room at Quality Inn online, but when we arrived at 8:30 I was told that I didn't have a reservation. The price online was $81. He quoted me a price of $109. If I had not had a sleepy and crying 14 month old in the car, we would have left. I decided to stay. But was very disappointed when we arrived to the room. We will not be staying here again. $109 before taxes was WAY TOO MUCH for this room.
