Bad hotel, the rooms have absolutely nothing, I kept my baby's milk out of the fridge, the staff are unprepared, we made the reservation online and the attendant said that I couldn't find it was on average 30 minutes with someone on the phone until we could check in. And we were very tired. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This Motel was horrible. There are what looks to be people living in some rooms, they walk around all night yelling and making lots of noise. The TV was not working correctly. Nothing was plowed or shoveled. We were very disappointed with this place.

Very nice place to stay at! Restaurants and a Walmart near by, the suite was quiet, comfy beds and very clean! The only problems with that room that I stayed in were the remote (I tried changing channels on the TV, but the remote took forever to do it) and the coffee (I thought it was yucky) overall it was a nice visit!

A very reasonably priced hotel. It is perfect for anyone looking for a place to stay after a concert at the saranac brewery. The staff are nice and the room was clean. The room is a little small but it worked.

Stayed with a very large group over a long weekend. Rooms were very clean and recently remodelled. Front desk staff were super helpful and accommodating. Terrific stay, as always.

Basic rooms, nothing fancy, free Wi-Fi. Rooms open to outside. Used to be a decent value but prices have gone up dramatically. Newer fancier hotels nearby are a better deal now.

Everyone at the Red Roof Inn was very nice. The place is very clean, they wash the sheets, the floors are clean the bathtub is clean. I stayed here for about $55, they do match competitor rates. I went to a couple hotels down the road and they don't speak English and the place smell when you walk in the lobby. I did not inspect the competitors rooms. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay here for the price.

Clean, comfortable rooms, slept better than in our own brand new bed. Room needs an extra chair so if 2 people are in the room other person has a place to sit other than the bed. Floor needs to be thoroughly mopped with water and soap. Never got my free water when we checked in. We stayed in a room on the back side that was quiet. Will stay here again.

Room was clean and nice with ice cold A/C. Nice water pressure and hot water. There was a cigarette hole burned through the blanket on the bed but the the sheets and blankets looked clean and nice other than that. They offer a trucker discount too. Nice stay for the money.

Perfect economy lodging. Clean, updated rooms. Friendly staff, easy access on and off highway. No complaints here, would definitely recommend.

Of the Red Roof Inn we used, this one was the least good.
Under equipped, aging décor, lights flushed by lamps, bathtub that does not flow, in short, just to sleep, no more. So for the price still that at the same rate, even lower, we found better.

Just got through slammin' some Red Roofs. This location is one of the cleanest, nicest RR's I've stayed in. Don't let the Thruway proximity deter your choice. Very nice!

Great rates, friendly helpful staff, clean rooms! Not many amenities but great for the last minute business travelers!

Would not reccomend. We had reservations for 2 nights. First room had an interior bathroom with broken light so was pitch dark. They changed our room. Second room had mouse droppings on floor. They switched us again and upgraded us for trouble. This room was noisy. Mattress was like sleeping on concrete and pillows were rock solid and paper thin. Room was very hot despite turning heat down to 42 degrees (this was with outside temps in 30's). Fridge setting was so cold that a bottle of wine froze solid. To top it off the maid never made the bed or cleaned the room — merely left towels on desk. Terrible experience.

Another nice weekend here! The staff is awesome, and always helpful! Rooms are clean and quiet, and the coffee is always on!

One of the rooms we had was for our daughter and grandkids. Neither one was cleaned well, shower didn't work right, problems with the door. Returned to room one evening and beds were not made in one of the rooms. I Poured coffee down the sink before leaving in the a. M. And it was still there in the evening. On the positive side they were polite and I was refunded for not using the safes even though my husband initialed it.

I'm not a stickler about where I sleep, I have been just about everywhere from LeRoyal in Luxembourg to motel8. But this place is well, creepy. The wood stairs leading to the second floor are very slippery when wet, so be careful. The rooms are heated with electric baseboard heat from the ceilings oddly enough. The shower and bathroom are just large enough to get the job done. The covers seems to need another good laundering, or disposed of entirely. If you have to sleep in absolute silence, the soundproofing here is wholly inadequate, as interstate 90 is right next to the hotel, as well as the exit, so expect to hear trucks and snow plows in the winter.

Nice customer service. Convenient location. Room and linens appeared clean, but we noticed ants in the bathroom as we were leaving in the morning.

I do lots of traveling, and Red Roof Inns have always been clean and safe places to crash for a night. They are a great budget hotel. There is a lot of good breakfast places around to eat at. You get a free water bottle each day, which is great for traveling long distances. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because we set our thermostat to 68, and had to cool the room down during the night because it started getting really hot, at least 75.

We've stayed at this place several times over the past couple of years and have always found the rooms basic but clean and the staff nice. Be sure to let the staff know you did not use the "safe" in your room when you leave so that the $1.50 fee is removed from your bill.

Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room seemed clean until we looked a little closer and saw some really disgusting things in the ice bin, and on the walls. Room was updated and pleasant, hangers we're useful but no fridge.

It's Clean and affordable if your looking for more than as Bed a Bathroom and a TV look Elsewhere also there is No Elevator so if they give you a room on the second floor you have to walk up stairs!

Don't let the price scare you away. The place is clean, shower is fine. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Nice room very clean well keeped. Pet friendly with areas to walk your dog. Very peaceful.

Clean room, comfortable beds and good location. Quality TV and cable service were a nice touch too. Took off a star for lack of a refrigerator (other comparable motels all have one), awkward desk/chair, and weak shower. I'd still recommend the place though — quite good for an economy lodging.

Small rooms, no complimentary breakfast. Sherri was fantastic to deal with. A+ service. Budget hotel. Cable and Internet A+. If they added free breakfast and better in room coffee, definitely bump up a star. Not bad though great breakfast place next to hotel. Belive it was Willy's bagels. Phenomenal! Eat there every morning.

Good place to stay while on the road and traveling with our golden retriever. Very pet friendly, and they even have Milk Bones in the lobby. Friendly and clean and nice big lawn. Good walking paths right nearby on the canal.

We have their "cheapest" room available for the night we stayed and the amenities are limited: NO coffee maker, fridge nor microwave. We are a bit surprised as for the rate we paid here! We got full amenities including complementary breakfast at their hotel chain in "Ann Arbor". Guess, New York State are more expensive than Michigan state. However, the 2 queens bed are very comfy! Flat screen TV, working Wi-Fi, clean bathroom, hot shower, essential, toiletries are available and you can help yourself to enjoy complementary coffee or tea at their office. Overall good overnight stay despite the rates difference they have between the states.

Although the staff was very friendly and helpful, I asked for a non smoking room, the room smelled strongly of smoke, stains on the bed and pillows, dirt under the covers of the bed, and dirt on the floor. Glad I brought my own blankets and pillow. Rooms are nice but housekeeping definitely could use some work.

Great value for a great room and you can bring your pet.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was basic, a little dreary, one of beds had crumbs on sheets, the spreads were stained. Not enough towels for a family of 5, although they were delivered upon our request. Spent 2 days. Will pay a few dollars more for a nicer, cleaner room with at the very least a continental breakfast. There is nowhere to eat in this are. The nearest eatery is about 5 miles away.

Didn't stay the whole night this wasn't my first stay at the hotel. This room was drafty the sheets were dirty and the room smelled like spoiled food. I will more than likely not return to this hotel again.

This Hotel isn't the Ritz. However, it was very clean and the staff was totally wonderful. There is a refrigerator in the room. The only thing these people need to do is to install new air conditioners in the rooms. We had one that didn't work. However, the Staff immediately switched us to a new room with a working air conditioner and even offered to move our luggage. Unfortunately, other hotels/motels in the Utica Rome area are dated and their owners don't realize they will be soon be out of business. The only one we would have ever considered is a new one in Rome NY at over 3 times the price. This Red Roof is totally affordable and we will definitely stay there again. I grew up in Upstate NY and this a refreshing alternative to what I and other area New Yorkers who come back have expected to suffer when coming back home. 2016 Reunion classmates take notice!

Perhaps one of the best lower star chains ive ever stayed in. All the details in the room are quite nice and priced considerably lower than most hotels but, not lower quality or serivce or enjoyment.

Stayed for an overnight stay August 1st. I was completely satisfied with the room, location, and the staff. The bed and bathroom was beyond clean. You could smell the cleanliness of the bedding. Been coming to Utica for two yrs, and always stayed at the Radisson. Since new management at the Radisson, the conditions are nasty. I recommend staying at Red Roof Inn.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Utica, New York during the college’s graduation. We chose the Red Roof because they accepted dogs without charging a fee. The location had really positive comments and I would like to echo those comments. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the price was good. If you are looking for a good price, clean, and pet friendly motel room, the Red Roof in Utica is a good choice. If I was traveling there with my dog again I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Red Roof Inn has really stepped up their game. I am so impressed with them. I have stayed in 4 star hotels that aren't this nice. The room was small, but beautifully renovated and clean clean clean. My family couldn't wait to snuggle under the covers. Pillows were fluffy, sheets soft and warm, mattress firm but comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water and the pressure was crazy good. There is a wall safe that you're automatically charged $1.99 for but you can request it removed at checkout. No microwave, fridge, or coffee maker in our standard room but it was perfect for a night's sleep driving through. The lobby staff was courteous and free coffee was available 24/7 (awesome). I found a coupon in a travel book at a rest stop on 90 and we got this outstanding room for just $64. I am definitely making a point to seek out Red Roof Inns in all my future travels. Well done.

I had a really good time while staying at th red roof inn. The room attendants did a good job of cleaning the rooms and everybody was very sweet.

I stayed 3 nights: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (March 5-8). Had I only stayed Wednesday night, this review would be raving and have 5 stars. It's a clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel. HOWEVER, both Thursday night AND Friday night, the room right next to mine was rented out to people whose sole purpose was to party. Thursday night there were at least 15 people in the room with loud music playing and lots of happy partiers. Finally at 1:30 am they left after the threat of police action. Then on Friday night, a completely new set of partiers arrived and this time there were approximately 20 people! The noise coming from the room was sleep prohibiting, AND there were always 4 or more people on the balcony partying and smoking right AT my window! One partier brought an electric guitar with a portable amplifier! I called the desk at 12, 12:30, 1 and each time they would quiet for about 5 minutes. Finally at 2, I called again, and the desk worker called the police. It took the police until 2:45 to arrive and make the partiers leave. I had to get up at 7 for a 12 hour solo drive. So I will NEVER take the risk of staying here again. It doesnt matter how comfy the bed and the room are: if the rooms next to you are filled with partiers (definitely NOT hotel guests there for rest) you will get no rest at all.

I was pleasantly SHOCKED how nice this room was. I am a business traveler that had the perks of staying at a more expensive property. Not anymore. For $50 this is the same quality as a $150 hotel room. Ok so no gross breakfast that ya dont even eat. Who cares! Stay here for sure if you are in Utica.

Couldn't have been better. Right off 90, incredibly courteous and helpful staff. The value is outstanding. Clean room, nice new hardwood floors, friendly pet policy, it's the only place I stay when traveling with pets.

I've been here on a couple of occasions. I was visiting my friend about 5mi away. It's a great place to stay! Very courteous staff; clean, comfortable rooms; food only a minute away (Taco Bell, Dunkin Donuts, Delmonicos, Pizza, etc), as well as gas (Hess, FastTrac). Definitely keeping this location in mind for any time I have to be in Utica.

Hot water didn't last very long in shower but otherwise good.
