Clean and great staff. Come on by.

Wait staff in restaurant were by far the most positive for this location. For the most part the front desk people were helpful; there was 1 very rude person at the front desk. She was the one on our last night there. rooms were incredibly small. The square footage footprint stated 250sqft; however, our room was measured at 200sqft. the only way we were able to get hot water in the sink was to turn on the shower! quite surprising given the fact Hilton properties are typically the properties we stay at.

Employees are extremely rude. My husband and I stay at all Hilton brand hotels and I have never experienced staff so unhelpful and condescending. Last time we stayed at the other Hilton Garden Inn and I wish we would have rebooked it.

Great service from the front desk to the housekeeping. Great location. Walking distance to Times Square. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was delicious. Beds so comfy you don't want to get out. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

You get what you pay for at this hotel! Front desk staff are only ok and try to slow walk you at check in! Beds are great and shower is amazing!

Best location right off Times Square, with convenient subway access, Grand Central, and theatre district. Intimate feel, super helpful staff. Here in December so if you want hot water you have to let the water run 15 minutes, so plan for your shower.

Bad service from the front desk, they are unpatients, one of them is very angry and rude, a woman called Ariana, so rude! I had a bad experience, so sad… I never come back to this hotel again.

So we booked a room for our 10th Anniversary with a time square view. But didn’t get it, when we were checking in that lady called the manager & said how she is out of room with view but didn’t say anything to us & just handed us the keys. They charged for the view & when we asked for the correct room, was told that we booked a room with partial view.
I mean for real even when u book directly from there website it doesn’t give u the option to book like partial view, side view, full view it just says time square view & they charge triple for the view.
I mean big name like Hilton r doing frauds like this can’t even imagine what other small names r doing.
Thanks Hilton for giving such a great experience. I really hope that you enjoy every penny you earned from fraud like this, pretty sure I am not the first one.

Michelle and staff were awesome during our stay this past weekend! She was very helpful by assisting us with our rooms and her customer service was the BEST! The Concierge on Saturday (7/20) was awesome as well! She gave us a plethora of restaurants and sites to visit during our stay! I would definitely stay at your hotel again! Thanks for the great hospitality.

Fantastic hotel and location. Great sized room with queen beds, coffee, refrigerator, microwave and breakfast! Worked great for our family of 4 and easy walking distance to everything. Customer service was amazing and we felt so comfortable and at home. Thanks for a great stay!

Right off of Broadway and Times Square, the Garden Inn is a great place to stay if you're looking to tour around New York. The room we had was very clean and updated, although it was a bit smaller than a suburban location. No bedbugs, mice or roaches. Offered both a microwave and a fridge for reheating some leftover New York style pizza, and a coffee maker to help you wake up after a long night exploring Manhattan. Check-In Workers, Cleaning Crew and the Doorman were all very friendly and were helpful with anything we needed. I recommend this hotel.

I had a great experience at this hotel. Way better than expected. I needed a room with a tub as I needed to soak four times per day. They helped me with this. I was able to check in before official check in. I asked the Housekeeper on the floor for extra towels. No problem. She was off the next day but made sure I had extra towels in our room each day. The location is great. The service is great. I will definitely be back.

Great location and friendly people. Breakfast is great with staff taking care of you. I want to say that one employee went above all to make sure our stay was a positive one. Michelle H. Is a great representative for Hilton and she be commended on her outstanding skills professionally she is one of the best we have seen in a while. Our hotel room had some cooling and hot water problems off and on. The staff did try to correct those problems. Michelle H is the only reason I gave this a 5 Star.

Amazing location if you are doing all the tourist things in New York City. It is located right off a major hub of the subway. So easy to get anywhere. The rooms are really nice, small but that’s what you expect in NYC. Even being right off time square we didn’t have any street noise in the room. The beds are comfortable. We would stay there again.

Short Stay! I had a 12 hour layover in New York and decided I didn’t want to stay at the airport so I booked this hotel at the last minute from the airport. My check in was easy and pleasant. The front desk staff was very nice. They had me in my room in minutes. They took care of getting my luggage to storage for me, I didn’t need to take it all to my room since I was leaving early the next morning. I was in room 1803 and it was very small. The room amenities were great though. I was super happy to have a microwave because I had leftover food I had bought before my flight and it was nice to be able to heat it up. There was also a refrigerator. The view was of another building, but this is New York so the whole town is tall buildings. The location appeared to be great when I arrived. There were plenty of lights and it looked like I would be able to walk and see some sites, but it started raining so I couldn’t confirm what was in the area. The only thing I didn’t like was not having anyone downstairs to help with my bags and when I left a person pushing taxi’s was allowed to come inside and harass me into a cab instead of Uber.

About the Hampton a few blocks away… My queen room was large, it has a pull out sofa. I am in room 601, which seems to look out over the side street. Rates are very expensive everywhere in Times Square, I suggest making a reservation before they start filling up. I was slammed with $139 and it was $170+ after tax. Not worth it but sometimes the rates are up to $250! This room is deftly worth under $100. If you go to New York for a festival book in advance. Bathroom is small, refrigerator is weak and small with no freezer, flat screen TV is large with dish, desk and chair is fair, several outlets, Neutrogena amenities. Breakfast has loads of bananas, eggs, waffles, bacon, cereal, bread, oatmeal, pancake maker.

The property was clean and well maintained. The rooms were big enough and renovated. I could see Empire State building out my room window and it's really close to Times Square and all the restaurants.

Nice hotel, red's what they stated was an upgrade for being diamond member, however room upgraded to was not clean. Breakfast buffet is not really a buffet, they should take orders and have wait staff bring them to the tables, buffet area about as big as a master bedroom closet. Staff is nice and accommodating.

Great location in times square. Less than a block walk to two main subway accesses. Beware that Manhattan hotel rooms are smaller than average (a king bed room is around 300 square feet). Great quality in the room's features and room is configured to maximize space. Complimentary breakfast had a good variety and was delicious.

It is a decent hotel. Focused on business travelers there is a mini fridge, microwave and a coffee machine. Not high on the frills, but the internet is reasonable and the space isn't small compared to other New York hotels, but smaller than other cities. The staff was friendly and always helpful.

Good location. 04 line views to Time square but must be above 25 floor. I was on 19th could only see side of buildings and reflection of time square lights. Very comfortable mattress, clean room. 04 line small room. No lobby at ground floor.

This is my second stay at the Hilton Garden Inn next to Times Square. With regards to location, if you're looking for a hotel close to Times Square and midtown Manhattan, then this is the hotel for you. It is reasonably priced for Manhattan and is located equally close to Bryant Park. Sufficient access to subway stations to move about the city and nice views dependent on the price paid and upgrades of the room. However, this being my second stay, I have realized that the hot water for the shower simply does not work and requires ten minutes to become fully hot. Not even lukewarm, it is frigid from the getgo. In addition, when speaking to the hotel lobby staff I was informed that this is a known issue without a care. I would caution from staying at this hotel unless you are here from abroad and are looking for more touristy destinations. Native New Yorkers and those who visit often should find another hotel.

Excellent location. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. No Resort Fees! Everything needed for an weekend stay. The Restaurant was overpriced, and didn't have the ice cream for the dessert on their menu. Coffee was free Sunday but not Tuesday.

If you are planning a trip to NYC, do NOT stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square Central! We had several issues during our 2017 stay and the manager offered a discount on our next visit. That manager has left and his replacement refuses to honor the discount and has made no attempt to contact me, even after reporting to Hilton Honors HQ. This is the worst customer service EVER and a disgrace to the Hilton brand.

Clean, comfortable, and modern. The rooms are smaller than most hotel rooms, however it's an extremely small price to pay when you take into consideration the convenience of the location. They'll keep your bags for you if you check in or out and want to explore the city more. Staff were friendly and it was easy to check in. Would stay here again!

Brilliant location on 42nd street, stones throw from Times Square. Room was very nice, large king room, comfortable bed and bedding, well equipped with large tv, fridge and microwave if required. Excellent bathroom with as much hot water as needed however shower could be better! The only down side — paid for a room with a view of Times Square. My room looked out onto an office block and had to look very hard down the street to see the south east corner of Times Square. Bad advertising and paid a premium for something I did not get as with the other reviewers who said the same. Room 1007. I would not hesitate however to stay here again!

I booked my room in December and was up sold a beautiful room with views of time Square. The exact selling point they used was top floor 36 floor panoramic views of the H&M building and sign. Everything sounded great and I proceeded to book the room and even paid more for early check-in and breakfast. Upon arrival we were greeted by the extremely unprofessional girls working the front desk who had no clue in regards to what they are doing. First we got in at 10am which was the time I originally told them I would be arriving and they said with early check-in it would be perfect so when we got in we could get in and be on our way to enjoy the city. The girl helping us tells us we did not have early check-in and could leave our bags until 3 when we can check in. I told them it was an up sell to get us in because what we were told completely changed. Not to mention they had no record of the high floor we requested or the breakfast. Good thing I had a email from our reservation because the girl claims reservations does not always share their info with the on-site staff and it always happens. If your not into games avoid at all cost.

Great location! Hotel was clean and quiet, and the best part was the price! We had an issue with our TV, and the maintenance man promptly changed it out in twenty minutes. Would gladly stay here again.

I love this hotel and plan on staying in it every time I travel to NCY Time square. It's clean, the staff is helpful and you can't hear your neighbors. And the blackout curtains are a blessing in the city that never sleeps! The subway is right outside, and everything you need to see is definitely within walking distance. I'm not sure how it is with kids because I've only been with adults, but I'm sure it's great! Highly recommend!

Excellent hotel to stay in NYC.

Fantastic location to Times Square. We came to see the Ball drop on New Years Eve and was not disappointed. You can see the Ball from the side and back. No crowds to fight and no need to stand for hours in a pen. We stayed in the warmth of the Hotel and went outside about 10 minutes before the Ball dropped. Staff at this Hotel were polite and very attentive to our needs. Rooms all small but that’s normal for a NYC Hotel. Paul’s, the on-site restaurant had great food and service. Most all of the restaurants on or near Times Square close on New Years Eve so it was very convenient to eat at Paul’s. They did have a special New Years Eve Party at Paul’s but at $350 per person we passed on it. Right across the street is a Burgers and Lobster Restaurant and recommend going there. There is a Subway Station that is about a five minute walk from the Hotel. Most Broadway Shows are within walking distance as well as the Rockefeller Center. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting to be near Times Square.

Very poor morning luggage back to the hotel at 11 o'clock in the evening 攞 room can be compared to the room is not a clean rooms and the lobby to move to the room is really failed on this very dissatisfied.

This hotel offers an authentic new York experience! Rude staff in a rush while on their cell phones while there are customers waiting for assistance. Stayed here for NYE a handful of times since it opened. Each time they say it will be better next time ;)

Even with the prep for NYE, quick to check in and get to my room. Didn't like parking two blocks away and walking with my bags, but it is NYC so all good! Got upgraded and good view for ball drop.

This hotel is all about location. Rooms are small as you would expect in NYC. Location near Times Square and theaters, easy walk to Rockefeller Center great for tourists. We had an awesome view of the ball getting ready for New Years. It was surprisingly quiet in the room. Food including breakfast was solid/good. Not gourmet but good. Biggest disappointment was that the bed was rock hard and pillows weren't awesome — a digression from usual Hilton standard. I guess because it is the city that never sleeps?

Service was below average for what you would expect from a common traveler type hotel. The location is very, very close to the center of Times Square… that could be a good thing, if you want to be in the middle of crowds at all times when you are walking around. There isn't much of a lobby. That may not be a problem for most people, but if you have multiple people or groups staying at the same location it would be nice if there was a little more of a lobby for meeting up and planning the next destination. The elevators are slow. During the morning rush to check out there where multiple days that we had to wait for the next elevator when the one that stopped was already full. There was obviously a shortage of wash clothes at this hotel. We only got 1 each day and had to ask for more. One of the days we asked for more at 7pm, 9pm, 10:30pm and they finally showed up at 11pm. Breakfast was $26 / person. I can't speak to the quality or amount as I didn't try it for that price. There is a mini-fridge and microwave in each room.

Hotel room was fine, small but we knew that going in. We did have a problem checking in however. Our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until 1am. When we tried checking in we we're told they had no available rooms and we would need to spend the night at their luxury sister hotel 15 min away. We were given cab fair and a voucher for breakfast but the luxury hotel was anything but. It was smaller, noiser and smelled awful. On top of that we we're scrambling to find a place to change for our Broadway show while we were waiting for a room the next day. I won't be staying at this hotel again.

I must say I was 100% satisifed with my stay! After my plane was delayed an hour, the last thing I wanted to do was wait until 3 PM to check in. They allowed me to check in early, offered me an umbrella because it was raining, and offered me toothbrush and toothpaste if I needed those too. The room was clean, the shower was warm, free Wi-Fi (love that) The location is excellent it’s right next to time square, the staff was super helpful especially Michelle. I would definitely stay there again in the future! 5 star service all the way!

Nice clean room with a gorgeous city view. Everything was clean and modern, no complaints whatsoever. They even managed to have sufficiently good windows to entirely shut out the noise of one of the loudest parts of any town I've ever known.

I stayed here with my family for 5 nights. Handy location, a few steps from Times Square and metro. Room was essential. Wide and comfy bed. Clean. However a few downsides. The elevators were a total mess. Sometimes we had to walk down due to the excessive waiting time. It lacks of a real hall where to spend some time. You pay the location more than the overall quality of the hotel.

Great guest services provided by staff. Hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to everything Times Square including metro station just around the corner. Rooms are comfortable but typically smaller as most located in cosmopolitan areas. Kinda tight for 4 people but manageable. Another great thing is when checking in online having the opportunity to select your room before you arrive, then upon arrival just pick up your key at front desk. Love this option!

Modern, safe, elegant, well located, very good service, the only thing I noticed is that the shower in the bathroom in the single room is poorly designed after showering the entire floor of the bathroom gets wet even outside of it you get to get out the water.

Location is right on Time Square with great location and great view. Parking is a block away. Rooms are smaller then others but maybe that is all New York builds. Service is ok. There wa a a delay in check inn and they never apologized or explanied to me why. Just had me and my small children wait about 25 min waiting in a very small lobby.

Feels like a brand new hotel; must have been recently built or renovated. Service and ambiance are excellent. My only complaint would be the tiny room size. But it's NYC so there's not much you can do about that.

Straightforward. Room is average for NY standards. Nice TVs, roomy bathrooms. If TSQ makes sense for you, a good location. But if not, spare yourself the massive clog of tourists.

Arrived here after a long journey and teh hotel walked me away, the manager was rude and lied as he claimed he had called me 5 times which was not the case (I travelled by train from Boston). He then offered to book me at another hotel, said he spoke with the hotel next door and when I hit the "new hotel" no one had called… Interestingly enough hilton had sent me a few emails welcoming me to the Hilton Garden inn and saying how much they appreciated my business as an honors member, all lies. Avoid when possible.

While the view from my room wasn't the best, the room was very clean and comfortable. It had a modern design that made great use of the small space. Hotel card keys are required to access your floor from the elevator so I didn't have to worry about random people knocking on my door (which I've experienced before). I would definitely book a room at this hotel again.

The location is excellent, so is the cleaning. The issue is that they sell the rooms as if they were great and are very small, with double beds of 1.20 m and tell you that in New York are beds for two people… When I complained to the Manager Maurice Wright told me that this was the case and that if I did not like that I outside. I tried to take my family, including my son and my pregnant wife. No words for this person that does not know what is the treatment to the guest.

Service was great. Our room was on the 32nd floor. Housekeeping did a fabulous job of cleaning our room daily. The hotel was quiet and we were not disturbed by any crazy parties or anything. Just the occasional little kids coming out of their rooms in the morning.

For a first timer in NY I wanted a hotel located conveniently in Times Square so I wouldn't be too overwhelmed. The rooms were a tad tight, and for the most part clean. Everything went smoothly with my stay. Would recommend to friends.

Great location, easy to get around. Options in every direction. But! Better if you use the subway. Do your homework before you go. Much cheaper than the tour buses. And faster.

The location is perfect for the ball drop! I have high anxiety when it comes to crowds and we were able to watch the ball drop without being in the middle of all of the chaos! Rooms and hotel were super clean. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

When we checked in the bed linens were dirty. We called housekeeping and a very nice lady (Diana) came up to change them, but the linens she brought (multiple times — like 6) were as dirty or dirtier (I. E. Dried blood on one set) than what was on the bed. The shower door leaks water all over the bathroom floor and the room was very dirty and had obviously not been cleaned in a while. The duty manager moved us to a cleaner room and we are good to go now. Overall, the rooms are very small and nothing special, surprisingly so given how new the hotel is, but it is a pretty good location and probably as good as any other hotel for the same price. Oh also, some of the front desk staff are rather sullen. They should learn to smile when they greet their guests seeing they are in the hospitality business.

Restaurant at the loby has a good (not great) balcony view of time square. Rooms are nice. The best part of this hotel is its location and price.

Had checked in on line through my hilton app. The only easy part of my 4 hour stay. Staff reassigned me to another room which was small and facing another building. Times square view I guess means place your face against the window and view with one eye shut. Asked to be assigned another room and was moved directly up several floors. This was after waiting 30 minutes. The room was just as bad. Immediately made arrangements and moved to a different hotel. About the only positive aspect… they didn't charge me for a 4 hour stay. Staff, hotel and dining area, are rude. The worst experience I have ever had at a Hilton property.

The front desk girl is so rude! My first time in new york and she expects me to know how many garden inns in the area. Bad service. I asked the girl if she could help me locate my actual reservation and she said no! Smh she could of at least told me call 1-800-hiltons. But she was just a unprofesional person.

Great location. It ends there. Rooms that were way smaller than expected (granted I was visiting from out of state), no useful information in the rooms about the fitness center or other hotel amenities (simply that they exist) and a guests phone that didnt work so you couldnt even ask. To top it off, fire alarm evacuates entire hotel at 6:30 am due to a smoker, although out of hotels control. The vibe all the place was that it wasnt finished/ready for business. I love tje garden inn. I dont get it.

Normally I give HGI's a high score. However, the weight staff in the bar and restaurant left a lot to be desired. We were ignored, then told the kitchen was closed when it was supposed to be opened for another 45 min. The rooms are great, the location is great — the front counter staff is good as well, but that weight staff, check the attitude folks.

I have stayed on several occasions for business and have been quite pleased. Careful in the bathrooms as I fell in the tub/shower hit my head but was okay. A little slick when wet just have to be a little more careful.

The location is great; checking in and out was quite quick and efficient. The very bad point was a lot of hairs on bed sheets, quite disgusting; also one of the curtain was not working well.
Last minor detail; we arrived late at night and they gave us a list of parkings, but they were all close. It would have been good to give us all parkings, not only those they advertise for.

Cramp — probably best describes the entire facility, especially the lobby and the shower stalls. That said, it is Downtown New York City after all and I got the room at a great rate. As the hotel is brand new (since Sept 2014), the rooms were impeccably clean and Wi-Fi worked just fine. Plus points for USB powerpoints both on the bedside table and the desk. Once the facade renovation is done, I'm sure it will a more popular choice for travelers. The location was great for a tourist that enjoys the lights of Times Square. In most rooms, you even get to see the iconic billboards and giant screens if you look to the left of your window. It was surprisingly not very noisy despite having windows that faced the bustling 42nd street. Walls were a little thin and could potentially cause problems for light sleepers, but it seems like the staff ensured that the in-room parties hushed up past 10pm.

If you have to stay in Times Square, this is a reasonably priced option. The rooms are not terribly small considering the location and the Keurig is a nice touch. My room had a nice view of the ball and on the 22nd floor I didn't hear any street noise aside from the occasional siren.
