We stayed here for a week during Thanksgiving holidays (sorry I didn't write a review earlier), but this was the best place I've ever stayed in New York. I hadn't ever heard of it, but when it was recommended my my Amex Travel Agent and being part of the Fine Hotels and Resorts, I was in. We had the entire 10th floor to ourselves. Our butler waited anxiously in the hall waiting for something to do. Or room had 2 bedrooms, a dining room, living room, 3 bathrooms, and it was the Penthouse, so we had a circular glass staircase in the corner of the living room leading up to the roof top terrace. Our terrace off of the dining room/living room was also nice, but the rooftop terrace was much better. Not only was it furnished with sofas, chairs, a bar, grass (fake grass of course), but we had a view of Times Square from up top. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and made you feel comfortable, this hotel only has 90 something rooms, as compared to the Hilton in Columbus Circle, which has over 2000 rooms. So we felt special. Everything was in walking distance, and if we didn't feel like walking, to hotel Mercedes would bring us where we wanted to go, for free. I didn't see any of the other rooms so I can't comment on those, but The Producer Suite? (I think that's what it was called) was excellent.

Attended a musical performance at the Lamb's club located inside the Chatwal. The performance was fantastic, the setting was not too large but rather intimate (some of the guest at the rear were a little loud but were told to " settle" down which was good). Certainly hope they hold more of these events. I would without question come back.

The hotel is very well appointed and has a very attentive staff. It is on a one way street with Time Square at the end of the block, so noise can be an issue.

First of all let me say that this hotel does not even deserve a single star! The staff is deceptive and dishonest and the management is incompetent and does not have the capacity nor experience to manage problems related to the guests needs. If it was my business they would be all fired on the spot! We checked into the hotel and came back after our dinner reservations to an 80 degree room. After attempts to set the thermostat and realizing that the temperature is not adjusting we call the front desk and ask them for help. That’s when they admitted that they have been having problems with their AC unit and are “working on it”. Unacceptable. Why weren’t we informed at the time of check in!? It’s not that there is a scarcity of hotels in NYC! We would’ve find another. Now here is the kicker, they offered us a fan and some ice water, lol! Really!? That’s gonna make it right!? A fan!? I’m paying for a 5 star hotel to try to sweat with a fan!? Next time please let your guest know that you have an AC PROBLEM before they check in and Let them decide whether they want to stay at your hotel or not. At 12:30 AM how are we supposed to find a room at a different hotel? Your technique is very deceptive dishonest and insulting. Not worth your five stars not even a single star. And most definitely not Starwood quality. You put a shame on the name Starwood. Will never come back again.

Couple of days ago, I was in New York for my honeymoon. I arrived there with reservations at a hotel that was less than I expected. So I woke up next day in the morning looking for a different hotel. I went to almost 7 hotels none of them had any kind of problems with my ethnicity or my name but not the Chatwal hotel. I had no idea, I felt chatwal was the nicest so I reserved a room for 4 nights, went to a restaurant for lunch, and received a call from NYPD, cause I asked to see the room before I’d reserve, which is a simple right, if there is a room to show but there wasn’t. Basically the Chatwal hotel messed the first few days of my honeymoon, everything happened at the same day, in the afternoon where the reservation is confirmed. I had reservations at a theater play but I had to make room in my time and sit tight in one place until the NYPD come to me and investigate the suspected lead that was made up by the chatwal hotel front desk. I would never spend a single night with a hotel that would treat me like that. So I made reservations at the intercontinental Times Square, no issues at all while we stayed there. I just did not enjoy my stay in NYC much cause of the way I was treated. I spent the first night at the intercontinental and woke up next day to see that the Chatwal hotel have charged me for one night, the “no show policy”. Yeah, “they ruined my stay in new york and charged me for it”. I spoke to them about it, my tone was very nicely but yes upset off course.

The hotel is great, the location is close to everything, without being in the middle of the mess that is Time square. I will say, if you love showers, you will LOVE these showers. A 2 foot rain head and an obscene amount of endless hot water.

Amazing! 6 stars! Great service! Perfect room (I stayed in the Garden Suite). Most definitely would recommend for a special occasion.

Will know this weekend! I'm leaving this review today, but checking in tomorrow. I'm on my way to inspect the property. Will let you know more as soon as I have more info. So far everything is going OK. I'm saying OK because it is definitely not what I was expecting. I spoke to 3 hotel staff members: Judy, Juan, and Sophia (out of SPA). Judy was a little bit off. Not sure if it's something in her personal life or else. She did everything by the book and answered all my questions. The only one problem it did not feel like she sincerely wants to help me. Juan seems to be very enthusiastic about his job, at least he sounded very enthusiastic on the phone, however, I don't think he really grasps the nature of my requests. I'm might be wrong and definitely will adjust this review if so. Sophia out of SPA called me. She simply didn't sound professional which is really alarming for a five-star hotel. I am planning to spend a very important day there. The first anniversary with my wife. This day will be in our memory forever. I might have a very high expectation but who can blame me? I'm on my way to the hotel with high hopes to be very happy with what I will see and how I will be greeted.

Went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable! We stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday and they were so nice and congratulated him with a bottle of wine and a note. We brought our then 7 week old baby and they went out and bought a bathtub for her to bathe in! We loved that. No other hotel has done that when we've traveled. Very nice very clean. And affordable.

Extremely expensive and not worth the extra money. Room controls seem fancy but are just frustrating, and although it seems unimportant the front doors are too heavy for smaller people to open which is a massive inconvenience when there is no doorman in sight. You also need to walk to a more main road to hail a taxi as they don't often drive in front of the hotel. And be prepared to be surprised by the additional $200 per night held on your credit card for possible "incidentals" in addition to the regular room fee. You can save some dollars, pick a more moderately priced hotel, and enjoy NYC more. I wouldn't stay here again.

Bathrooms are beautiful with Japanese toilets and wonderful amenities. Location is great for a first time NYC trip right in the heart of Times Square. Did have some issues at checkin with security deposit and beware there is no rooftop bar. Pictures can be misleading as the above average room does not have private balcony and is actually quite small.

Staff and facility is of the highest quality. Room was spotless, very New York, and had luxury touches all over the place. Staff took special care of my children and I appreciated it very much. This is my new spot to stay in NYC.

OK good, assisted by vacation, and you qrecio a stay quite agraable, the AMEEE, OAS rooms were comfortable and service to the Curto and Clienteberan exceowntes, a little tarsado all Ero Biem.

Wonderful amenities, friendly staff. Pillows too soft for my taste. Beautiful hotel with Japanese heated toilets and great shower/bath.

One of the best experiences I have had in NYC and I have stayed in many hotels in NY over the years. Customer service: The best! Friendly staff: Soooo friendly! Rooms: extremely clean and huge. Excellent placed and everything is reachable by foot or with public transport. We will be return customers!
