I have stayed at the Library Hotel twice. Our first stay was based on positive reviews and the fact that it went with the theme of our trip. The second time I stayed there was because of our first experience. The staff is great…welcoming, helpful, and prompt. The location is perfect for getting to the sights. The restaurant provides a convenient place to have dinner before a show or a drink after a day of walking. The Library Hotel will always be my first choice when in NYC.

Best Boutique Hotel in Manhattan! This is not a family hotel! Entire staff is awesome!

Absolutely the worst sleeping experience we have ever had. They were doing road construction from 11pm to 6 am right outside our windows. Jack hammers, grinders and all. Paid a premium to get no sleep. Cannot recommend anyone stay here as they didn’t seem to care and didn’t do anything to try and help.

Loved our recent stay at the Library Hotel. Being a book lover, I liked being surrounded by books and the many ways the library theme was incorporated in a smart way. The rooftop bar was my fav!

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Can’t wait to come back.

I had the best experience staying at the Library Hotel. It’s the most perfect place to stay in NYC. Very quiet and quaint. We enjoyed the complementary breakfast every morning as well as the wine and cheese in the evening. The bookmark is an amazing rooftop bar, the staff was very friendly and always catered to our needs. We sat by a fire every evening and enjoyed all the coziness it has to offer! We will be back.

A smartly themed hotel, well executed. Great staff, a rooftop bar and gratis breakfast/cocktail hour along with a location near GCT makes it a great choice for business or pleasure.

The Library Hotel is a gem. All of the concierges are friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. The rooms are nicely decorated and all fit the theme. Great breakfast and wine and cheese reception. I would highly recommend the Library Hotel.

A lovely boutique hotel in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Always an amazing stay and the staff here are great at helping you enjoy all NYC has to offer.

We needed to cancel on Christmas night. The staff was amazingly understanding. We have since stayed at the hotel and it was magical. So tasteful and unique.

A lovely hotel with lots of great perks and it has such a great location. We really enjoyed the wine and cheese in the evening and loved hanging out in the Bookmarks Lounge.

My husband and I have come here twice already and will continue to come back! The staff are super friendly and even the smallest rooms have charm and appeal. They have free coffee, tea, and small snacks all day and a wine and cheese tasting from 5-8 every night. They have a rooftop bar and great costumer service with a convenient location right by Grand central Station. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne for celebrating our anniversary there!

Beautiful and unique boutique hotel! Great central location, walking distance to Rockefeller and Central Park. Well appointed, spotless and tastefully decorated room. Staff is top notch, professional, friendly and courteous. Nice lounge with coffee bar (espresso, cappuccino, americano) and snacks available at all times and a nice continental breakfast as well as snacks in the afternoon. I will definately return and highly recommend!

Really loved our stay. Small NYC rooms were layed out nicely and never felt crowded. Service was as good as you are going to get… seriously great staff!

This place is great. Small rooms but everything is comfortable, clean and the books are great. The service is fantastic as I the rooftop bar and guest lounge. Good stuff.

What an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in the door, we truly felt like guests of honor, not distractions. The staff were unanimously helpful, the rooms were very well appointed, the lounge was cozy and consistently stocked with water and other "treats". The rooftop bar was romantic and a great way to end our night. Check out was simple and easy. It was disappointing to have to leave. We'll be back!

I love boutique hotels and this one surpassed my expectations. Staff catered to my every need and more. Room is on the small side but that's typical of NY hotels. Location is great and everything you need is close by plus they have a rooftop bar if you fancy a nightcap :) Breakfast is included which made my business trip much simpler (who wants to go find breakfast before an early morning meeting? ). And it was actually good. Don't let the "continental breakfast" put you off, it's far better than you'd assume. Thank you for making my shory stay amazing. I'll be staying on future business and personal trips.

We had a wonderful stay at the Library Hotel during our honeymoon trip to NYC. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed all the extras they have. The hotel is in the middle of it all in Manhattan but the room was quiet and comfortable. Can't wait to go again!

The rooftop bar at the Library NY is a great little bar. Make sure to come early to get seats. Drinks are unique, but not cheap. Service was excellent in every way.

The rooms really meet the standards of comfort, the service is the best, a good deal and a somrisa always, prices really al. Value of what they offer.

The rooftop bar (bookcases) is a great atmosphere with both great outdoor and indoor seating with lots of Windows. I would highly recommend it for a relaxed night out.

Great mid-town location, 2nd floor concierge lounge, each room has a theme with books associated. Rooms are tight but well appointed. Enjoyed my stay there and read lots of interesting books.

Great stay at the Library Hotel. We arrived about 8 am after an early morning flight. We received an enthusiastic greeting from the front desk and were invited to enjoy breakfast and use the lounge to relax while we waited for a room to be ready. This hotel feels much like a bed and breakfast. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Breakfast is wonderful. There are snacks, coffee, and tea at all times, as well as a great wine and cheese in the evening. The location is fabulous. We saw two shows and it was a quick 15 minute walk to Broadway. There are great restaurants in the area, and with Grand Central right there, it is easy to get wherever you want! This place is a gem and a definite respite in the busy city! One tip, the entrance to the hotel is on 41st not Madison!

Rare to find a hotel in the center of NYC that feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Housing only 60 total rooms, the hotel's greatest attribute is the second floor reading room which offers an included continental breakfast every morning, snacks/coffee/tea throughout the day, and wine and cheese every night. You simply cannot find a better value in NYC!

The staff were especially nice to me after my flight home was cancelled at the last minute, making sure I had everything I needed for my extra night's stay. Very laid back — you can pad around in your yoga pants, get an excellent Americano from the Reading Lounge, wine and cheese during cocktail hour, and the fireplace in the rooftop bar was the warmest spot in New York during the January cold spell.

The hotel was amazing! They have friendly staff that are willing to assist you with everything! They have a wonderful tea room that has daily tea, and snacks. Room service was great! We will definitely stay here again when we come back NYC!

It's a small boutique hotel. Small rooms but very cozy. Decorated with bookstores each floor a theme. Very friendly service. Every day you pass the waitress of the rooms to see if you need more towels or anything (gel, adaptors, toothbrush, pillows… and treats you with some chocolates.
In addition to the continental breakfast included during the day there is free for guests coffee, water and evenings wines, pastas, cheeses and fruit. A real pleasure to get to the hotel peace!

This is our go to place every year. My wife and I are both major book nerds so a library themed hotel is great. Although the rooms are pricey, you get a lot for your money. They don't believe in nickel and diming you. Free snacks and drinks all day in the lounge, continental breakfast and wine and cheese hour. And the staff is wonderful. You can't go wrong staying here.

I stayed here with my partner a few weeks ago for a wedding we were attending the next day. We stayed for two nights. We had a little trouble finding it because of the discreet sign, but were nothing but impressed when we walked in. The entire staff was so helpful and nice and accommodating. They have a stack of books for you to take for free when you check in. All of the books sounded so interesting, so my partner and I took one of each since they said they had plenty of other copies. The room wasn’t super spacious but it also wasn’t super tight. It was a great amount of space for the two nights we stayed there. You can tell the staff truly cares about their guests. The complimentary wine and cheese night was every night from 5-8-which we went to during our stay. Awesome crudités and great selections of wine for it being free to guests. We had wished that the continental breakfast that was offered had more variety, but the muffins, bagels, and pastries that they did have were good. The rooftop lounge was so lovely, but it was too crowded so we popped our heads in just to see how it looked. Housekeeping would knock and ask how everything looked and felt in the room (one of the housekeepers even gave us extra chocolates that they place on the desks in the room :) ) The day we checked-out, we went back later in the night to grab our bags to head back on the bus home, and the staff offered us champagne before we departed the city.

The hotel executes beautifully on the library theme. It's elegant, fun and comfortable all at the same time. Rooms are nicely furnished, and there are a couple of common areas that work well. Breakfast was a typical hotel-quality continental breakfast — a quick and easy start to the morning but nothing I'd go out of my way for. The staff were all kind and helpful. And the best part is that you can check out with any books you want!

Easily accommodated a room change request (I decided I wanted a larger bed). Front desk employees were very polite and helpful. Each room has a different theme to it, which I liked.

Went to the speakeasy on the roof, bookmarks. What a beautiful rooftop bar. A great place to grab a cocktail with your special someone.

A bit hard to find because of the descrite logo. Excellent service and accommodations. The breakfast could have a bit more variety. All around, great!

I went to the hotel with a friend who was staying there, visiting for a weekend in NYC. The hotel's location is right in Midtown, within reach of any subway you'd need and walking distance to so many sights and notable locations, including Bryant Park. The hotel's rooms are themed on different literature genres, which was charming for bookworms like us. The rooms have books on shelves and are modestly sized for the location and cost. We got food from the restaurant, which was delicious, as well as partook in the nightly wine and cheese hours and later, a cocktail on the roof level. Literary themed cocktails with friends were great. The hotel also features light snacks and a tea and coffee bar free for guests, as well as a small film library for borrowing. After being out all day touring around, we came back, borrowed a film and made lattes to take upstairs. The whole experience was great. And I've already recommended the hotel to our other friends. Staff was friendly helpful, and informed.

Love this hotel! Sadly I don't stay in mid town any more, but if I had to, this is the place I would go. Great rooms! great theme and decent roof bar.

We arrived on my better halves Birthday and had the most attentive three nights stay at this lovely hotel before leaving on my Birthday. It is our first time in New York and the staff at The Library have made it all that more special. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
From the comprehensive breakfast in the mornings to the pastries and drinks all day long and onto the cheese and wine in the early evening you never get the chance to feel peckish, all of which is part of your stay. There's friendly staff on hand to toast your bagels and keep your wine glass topped up as well as chat about the day. Nothing is too much trouble.
The rooms are a credit to the housekeeping staff as spotless and folded as the first time we arrived, with a turndown service for a well earned sleep. We stayed in the Eastern Religion room, books from Dalai Lama to the Wisdom of Confucius and all between we loved the themed room… though we didn't leave too much time free for reading.
We had a wicked time and would love to come back, congratulations and thanks to all the staff at the hotel.

Love this themed boutique hotel. All rooms are numbered and named using Dewey Decimals. The wonderful lounge and rooftop bar is named Bookmarks and features literary inspired cocktails.

My wife and I decided to spend our anniversary in the city and as book lovers we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Everything from the atmosphere to the friendly and wonderfully helpful staff — down to every little book-themed detail, the Library Hotel was absolutely perfect.

We recently went to NYC for an extended weekend and stayed at the LH and couldn't have been more pleased from the clean rooms, well worked interior design and artwork throughout to the fabulous free breakfast and wine/cheese and munchies reception every night, but I have to say the best part was the people! Each and every worker we met at the hotel (like Billy) were all very cool, helpful and all went above and beyond the call of duty. They even helped us get the last 2 tickets for the Broadway show "ONCE" which was one of the highlights of the trip. And one last thing to add Grand Central station is just a few blocks away where you can jump on the subway to get you anywhere you need to go. I spend 5 wonderful days there last August and will be returning in January for a quick weekend trip and I know from past experience I will be treated well.

Place is awesome. Like a museum in some ways more than a library. Even if you don't live here, you should come and visit this place. It's really just awesome and in the middle of Manhattan.
