Checked in late around 7pm upon arrival. We were put in a suite that had a very heavy odor of Marijuana. The first call to the desk they told us they would call back. When they called back they said they were fully booked, we then asked what was going to happen to remedy this inconvenience we were again told they would call back. The second call back they found us a room. It was smaller but on the 13th floor with a corner view. All in all, a bit bumby at first but overall an enjoyable stay.

Nice room and service! I had been here just once but it was a good experience! 😀

Under Covid conditions the Hotel is doing a good job to keep the customers happy.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by concierge and offered a glass of wine. They immediately solved my need for an outlet to charge my cell.
Once I was able to contact my friends, who were already in our suite, the rest was absolutely extraordinary; spacious room, bath products, chocolates in room, quiet room and location is centralized! The staff and the restaurant were outstanding! Did I mention the views? Facing 5th Ave the NYC Public Library it’s a magnificent view.

Stayed in June 2019 for my honeymoon and housekeeping disposed something valuable of ours. Reported the lost immediately and was promised a reply within 2 weeks but we did not receive one. After repeated chasers over the next 2 months, we finally received an unfavourable and degrading reply from their insurance company 3 months later. Andaz lost our item, refused to take any responsibility of it and went on further to insult us. Absolutely atrocious service.

I will never stay anywhere else in NYC. It’s an amazing location, spectacular view, tucked away and peaceful, high end rooms, stellar staff. Additionally, the best avocado.

Extremely annoyed — I woke up 1.30 in the morning because of the extreme sound, instantly I called the reception for help, one man came to my room with a phone and the lady on the other side was saying that drill work is going on at the kitchen and can’t stop it, and was asking to change my room with my sleeping children and husband. As I’m holding 2 rooms, I asked for 2 rooms to be changed, she said, can’t provide 2 rooms. So I said you are asking extremely irrational thing which I can’t do. She said it would stop in 2 minutes for an hour but it didn’t. It’s been 2 hours, it’s not done yet. I’m still hearing the noise. I’m having extreme headache for the sound, again called them for help and asked if they don’t stop I’ll call 911, she said most welcome call 911, I don’t care. I really don’t understand, why they can do it in the morning, she said it’s in the kitchen, as kitchen is open in the morning they have to work at night when people are in deep sleep. People can eat outside when kitchen is out of service but people cant sleep outside
at night when they reside in the hotel. I never expected this kind of service from this hotel in Manhattan. I had to give this review at the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. Noise is still there.

Good hotel, has a unique design, the location was great. The hotel itself is quite expensive, yes I know it’s New York City but the price just didn’t make any sense for what you get. The room service was great but the menu was that big and didn’t have many options. Near the window in the room all had food stains and smelt bad, but the room itself was nice and clean. Also I came through an awkward/weird/disgusting situation at this hotel, the night I checked in someone had thrown a used cotton bud with ear wax in it in the elevator (picture is attached). Overall this isn’t a bad hotel but a few things can be improved.

Perfect location near my fave park in NY! Very clean and contemporary; rooms are modern and minimalist, but very comfortable. Black out shades with wall control unit. Fantastic service; in room and out. The bathroom is spacious and comfortable. Fun sliding doors in and out of the bathroom. Somewhat a spa feeling at lobby, not quite 100%. But definitely welcoming and restful after a long day in the city. High ceilings (yes they are important! ). Enjoyed the stay and would do it again.

Bar review:
Positive: Glamorous, well decorated, quick & nice personality servers. Cheese quality great, esp. The goat cheese which I normally don’t like. Unusual drink combinations.
Negative: Too noisy, needs sound proofing. Signage needs improving. Hard to find bar unless someone shows you a separate door to enter. Hallway looks like a lonely part of the hotel that hasn’t opened yet. Needs a bit more lighting in hallway. Prices are insane. $18 for 1 drink was the most inexpensive. Cheese tray to share was laughably small for $25. It was like a window display sample for a kid size option.

Great, central location and cool room designs are keys to this hotel's success. The rooms are decorated with plenty of glass and steel for a modern feel. The shower has three different water spouts and is an open plan design. Good water pressure and good Wi-Fi connections can be found throughout the hotel. Rooms are nicely sized for Manhattan and the prices are reasonable for a luxury hotel.

Great location. Clean modern rooms. They have valet now which means it's much easier to park there. Excellent cleaning and host staff. Great place to stay in midtown.

Quite chic! Very contemporary. Nice location. I love the way the rooms are decorated. All snacks and non alcoholic drinks in the room are free. Now that's a new concept, not trying to get every dollar out of your guest. Check in was efficient and friendly. I am certainly impressed with my 1st stay at Andaz midtown Manhattan hotel.

Very noisy, constant street noise and sirens. Since the bed is right next to floor to ceiling windows, you hear every sound as though you're standing on the street and I wasnt even in a street facing room! Bathroom lighting is dark and there isn't lighting above the mirror in the room so very hard to do makeup. The blackout shades are useless, it's so bright in the rooms. Staff was nice when I checked in but when I called down to ask a question, a girl put me on hold forever so I finally hung up and had to call back. I wouldn't stay here again if someone paid me to… rooms are pretty, but my main purpose is to get a good nights sleep and that is impossible at this hotel. Second goal is to get ready in the morning and that's difficult given the focus on swanky lighting. They went 100% in on aesthetics and 0% in on function.

Stayed at a Splash suite. It was a great room, with views of the NYC Library. Easy check-in, great room service. The bathroom was very modern and luxurious. Large soaking tub, enough for two people comfortably. Room had a smart toilet which I found interesting. Bed was very comfortable, lots of storage if you're staying for an extended stay. Would recommend and stay again.

Beautiful building, delicious, luxurious food, hit or miss cocktails (some bar tenders knew what they were doing, others didn't. ) not very well signposted, hard to find cloakroom and restroom, bit of a maze. Annoying that you have to travel all the way to the lobby and outside to have a cigarette — no balcony?

Excellent location and restaurant. This is a smaller Andaz than the Wall Street location but trendy in its own style with a variety of room options. Definitely consider this option if you are planning to visit Midtown Manhattan.

The rooms are huge, which is quite unusual for this location and at this price. The bathrooms are also very spacious and comfortable. Nice gestures: the daily complementary snacks in the room, and the drink offered on arrival. Friendly staff. Great drinks and food served at the bar on the lower ground floor. If only I had a room with a view… you can't have it all!

I was displaced from the original hotel due to the maintenance work for a night stay. Things started pleasantly enough with the understanding that the check out will happen late (arrived at the original hotel around 1am so the manager at the original hotel agreed on 2pm checkout). Due to the lack of coordination, the cleaning crew tried to come in twice and the front desk immediately ducked responsibility to the cleaning management. I expect high quality establishments to show empathy and responsibility. Andaz management showed neither.

We went for a drink in The Bar Downstairs. The location and decor had already given the bar a different feel without even having gone into it. It had almost a speakeasy sort of vibe as we found the bar and entered. The drinks were amazing and unlike any other drinks Ive had thus far. Would definitely recommend this bar as it had delicious drinks and a great cozy atmosphere for relaxing and talking.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The staff took great care of us even though we had to wait for 2 hours for our room. The building is dated and still very chic and comfortable. The staff brought us treats for our troubles which was a nice bonus touch.

Completely enjoyed our experience here. The atmosphere did not feel like one of those big NYC hotel but something more warm and friendly… a true boutique hotel… but right in the middle of the action. Staff was friendly and accommodating… downstairs bar reminded of a speakeasy or Cheers! Amazing cocktails… bartender sent us two cocktails upstairs to the restaurant we were dining in because we liked them so much! Extra mile!

Excellent location, excellent service. Rooms are a great size for NYC. Very clean. Contemporary and modern. Would stay again. The one and only thing which was a little weird was that you can't identify who the staff are. Even if they wore a badge to say they staff would be good. Everything else is brilliant.

I absolutely love this hotel. It's quaint, very unique, friendly staff, great food and fabulous The Bar Downstairs. Location is great. I would recommend the Andaz to anyone looking to experience a different and unique view of New York.

Upscale boutique hotel. Stayed in king bed for few nights. The only thing that bothered me was the garbage truck outside at night. I had a bit of hard time falling asleep because of that noise until 3 am. They did have earplug. Everything else was great and I would definitely come back.

Very nice, clean, modern hotel. Breakfast was phenomenal. Our only complaint was that the decor was very dark… black walls, lots of glass. The room and hallways were dark as was the bar area in the basement. We'd prefer the bright an airy feel. The over sized shower was a real treat, but it was difficult to regulate the water temperature. Regardless, we would highly recommend and look forward to staying there again.

The lobby team wasn't engaging at all. I was surprised that no one asked what I was doing there or am I waiting on someone… if they had I would have been up to meet my friend much sooner. The rooms and decor though are AMAZING!

Service was generally pretty good. Breakfast was very good. Room was as expected in NYC. Hotel was pretty modern. Had an issue with the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night (false alarm fortunately). Besides that though, I thought it was generally pretty good.

Chic, classy, upscale, sexy location. The rooms are a decent size for nyc. Can't beat the location in midtown. Beautiful views of the library and park. Restaurant is decent.

It's a Hyatt, and probably the second best Hyatt in the city. Lots of well appointed, large suites, some with balconies even. Free wine happy hour. Amazing breakfast. You get what you pay for, it's a great place. Just note that sometimes the front desk staff forgets that they're in the hospitality business but that's NY.

Great location close to Time Square, can't ask for better location. Rooms were fantastic, beds were comfortable and bathrooms were really nice. I would come back everytime I visit the city.

Great service from staff. Excellent food, drinks and large dancing room for everyone not to mention the beautiful view while you're enjoying the party. Awesome place.

Kicked off a bachelor party in an 11th floor suite. Great views of the balcony. Very modern rooms, looked like a nice place to stay.

Very nice restaurant. Quiet and cozy. The Bar Downstairs was too loud and crowded for conversation but was the place to be in the area.

Ultra-lux hotel near the NY Public Library. Expensive, but surprisingly quiet. The Bar Downstairs is a the perfect bar for a delicious cocktail.

Got upgraded to a king room, which turns out is bigger than most of my friends' apartments. Free wine happy hour from 6 to 8, great location across from Bryant Park, cool Spanish Tapas bar downstairs. Can't lose staying here!

Everything almost perfect, except the room service that it leaves much to be desired, very poor value for money. They should greatly improve the restaurant service because it is not far to the height of other services, in terms of the menu is not saved the coffee.

Great place. My wife and baby stayed there and they brought us a baby bathtub, a crib, J&J baby soap, AND A RUBBER DUCK! Great service. They were very accommodating when someone on our floor was smoking and the smell entered our room. Great place, great service!

Don't know about the hotel but the restaurant is extremely inflexible. They'd rather keep it empty than letting guests sit for a drink. They force guests to use communo areas only, even though most of my colleagues stay at the hotel. Worst customer service and unacceptable management rules.

Free snacks in the in-room bar, excellent rooms (the higher the better in terms of the view). We ordered breakfast up to the room and it came quickly and as expected. No complaints at all.

Very disappointed. Tony Chi designed room is nice and simple but built quality is very low. What surprises about this place is about their service. Totally different from what Andaz is known for.

Only stayed a night but found it to be a great, modern looking modern hotel with comfortable and spacious bedrooms, excellent central location and good service. Used the gym which is 24/7 (great if you are jet lagged like I was) which is decently equipped, but didn't get to try the breakfast.

Literally everything is great. Staff are attentive. Rooms are big and well designed. The restaurant is yummy and reasonably priced, given its environment and location. Easy access to MTA subway, Times Square and Grand Central. Most importantly, it is designed and staff are trained that you will feel like staying at your another home instead of a cold hotel room. I guess I will return to this place on my next stay in NYC.

This is luxury and not some Georgia drag queen's half baked version of lux. Andaz is a Hyatt family hotel and I'm loyal to Hyatt. Andaz sort of compares to Starwood's W, only this is executed on a smaller scale and a much more thoughtful one. Welcome. The cheery girl that checked me in also handed me her business card and informed me that I should ring her if I needed anything. Also, the check in area is a lovely island in the center of the room and not some front desk style rectangle. Very nice touch. Notice I said room and not lobby? Oh, you'll see what I mean! My room was called the Andaz Suite and was larger than my cousin's apartment downtown! Every piece of furniture from the bed to the desk were very well thought out. The color palate overall is just gorgeous and relaxing. Oh, it was a surprise to see that the mini bar snacks and drinks were all complimentary! Finally, a hotel got it right! Who wants to pay $5 for a small can of Perrier plus 18% plus tax plus gratuity?!?!?! Crazy people? People from DE?! Who knows?! You can also pre arrange items to be placed into your fridge. My suite faced the lovely courtyard, which I requested because of the noise in this part of town, and it was pretty quiet compared to most hotels nearby. If you plan to stay on the lower floors facing the street, maybe bring some earplugs or ask for some by calling your concierge. The bath features REVOLUTIONARY water pressure from the rainfall head that's seemingly mounted in the sky.

One of our favourite hotels in NYC! Spend extra and get the room with the view of the New York Public Library, it's worth it! :) Love the casual service and it feels like you are in your own apartment building vs a stuffy hotel. The breakfast was great as well.

I stayed Dec 22 for one night at Room # 415. When I first checked in, I found an empty soda can in the refridge. I told the front desk about it right away, but instead of an apology, the female staff asked me whether anyone had told me the refridge has been stocked — What a stupid question! She told the refridge will be restocked, and nothing happened. Very disappointed and totally unsatisfied.

Love this hotel! Very hip and in a great location! The rooms are a good size, and have great bathrooms. We got a room over looking 5th Avenue and the Public Library. It was such an amazing view. I would recommend asking for that view when you book. The restaurant is nice too. They have a bar in the basement that is perfect to have a drink or two.

Andaz Café is a nice place for a business meeting or a calm conversation. They have a bar where you can have a coffee and do a business meeting. Unfortunately, the bar is open only until 6pm. From this moment on, you have the option of going to the lounge bar downstairs, to sit dow at the dining room or enjoy a glass of wine behind the kitchen (in front of the main door of the hotel). When I'm around Bryant Park, I often meet at this place with clients because the have Wi-Fi and outlets for the computer. The coffee is good quality and the price is not so expensive for the area. The only problem is that the coffee area is small, so maybe you won't able to sit sown if it's a rush hour. They also have a nice decoration inside.

One of the best hotels in NYC. State of the art rooms and suites, amazing and relaxing atmosphere through out the hotel and delicious food served in the restaurant and bar downstairs. Simply the best place to stay in New York City for not a lot of money.

This is indisputably a great hotel. Service is terrific, the lobby is attractive, the rooms are spacious and very elegant. When I visited there was a happy hour with complimentary wine in the lobby and it was a singularly nice place to relax. (The cheapskate in me loved the fact that everything in the spacious mini-bar was complimentary. ) Definitely one of NYC's top ten hotels.

Went here for an event and loved the space, especially for the holidays. It's very modern and new looking. We talked to the bartender and she said they made artisanal cocktails in their bar, so we'll definitely be back for that.
