Reviews of Ink 48 Hotel 5*
Very nice be sure to check out the mini bar in your room it’s packed witht things you might not expect! restaurant was good roof top is right o e the water beautiful view.
Great location for our cruise.
Much better than our last stay. Rooms are nice size, and so are the bathrooms. Very luxurious looking lobby area. Just need to be clear on unexpected charges after already prepaying thru Amex. After asking they forgot to tell me. There was a refundable deposit of $200 (didn’t know about) plus fees (did know about). I spent 1 hour over the phone of my time with Amex trying to figure it out and submit a claim on my birthday before a event I was in a hurry to get to. (I do recommend Amex customer service). I do recommend this place, just explain things prior so no surprises.
We stayed at Ink 48 prior to a cruise in June 2022. What a great experience! The proximity to the ship/pier, the food/rooftop bar, and customer service … all phenomenal. A special shout-out to Jose who helped with train directions, luggage storage, and arranging transportation to the airport. We can’t thank him enough!
Clean, modern, helpful friendly staff. Totally enjoyable!
Unbelievable Customer Service I sent email, and chat with customer service on Facebook no body care or given answers to my questions.
Nice place
Great atmosphere.
Awesome place to stay while visiting NYC!
Booked the hotel so I could enjoy the Press Club Lounge but it is closed for a private event the night I am in town. Any hotel that closes one of their main attractions for a private event obviously doesn't care about their guests. Looking for a new hotel now.
Dishonest and unprofessional.
This change in management has been incredibly unprofessional. I booked suites (December 2019) for my Memorial Day weekend wedding in 2020 and had wedding blocks set up for the wedding guests (January 2020).
I made it clear that I had 2 dogs that are in my wedding and staying with me in my suite. They are part of my wedding party. I partly chose Ink48 because of the pet policy (no pet fees, no pet deposits, no size/breed restrictions). I had to postpone my wedding to 2021. When I had to make the date change in April due to Covid-19, Andreas gave me an addendum to change the dates but neglected to mention the change in pet policy and management.
I noticed the change in the pet policy and emailed the sales director, Andreas, on October 1. With this new pet policy, not only would I only be able to only have one dog but I also would have to pay $100 extra for something I thought was included in my reservation. I asked for my wedding block guests and my own reservation to be exempt from this policy because I made the reservations while the hotel did not charge pet fees and did not have a size restriction. I consider it being "grandfathered".
He did not respond for 2 weeks.
It was not until I complained to the concierge desk and asked for his superior that he responded to me.
He made an excuse about his reduced work schedule due to Covid as his reason for not responding. I work on a reduced work schedule too.
Spacious rooms, awesome views and privacy.
A lot of kindness to all your customers.
Excellent service clean and attentive to needs.
I just started my stay here for a birthday getaway, with reasonable expectations. The hotel looked really nice and was reasonably affordable. I arrived on time and my room wasn't ready. They said they wanted to wait so I could have a room with a better view. Fine — I like that. When my room was ready a few hours later, I got keys to a room that didn't work. Again, this happens. I get new keys to a new room, but walk through the door to find a direct view of a brightly lit construction zone with thin sheers for the windows. Someone on the phone is supposedly upgrading me and said they would bring new keys, but I'm still waiting in the construction-facing room (20 minutes and counting). If things weren't already in process, I would just leave. I'll leave an update here if things change, but so far this is a mess.
Very loud late night bar next door with screaming and loud music till 3am+ that felt like it was inside our corner hotel room, that we paid extra for.
It was horrible.
We go to NYC often but will never stay there again.
It’s too bad because They do have a nice rooftop.
We love Ink48! This was our fourth or fifth stay and each has been a pleasure. Kimpton service is excellent and the hotel’s amenities are all that you need. The afternoon wine happy hour and morning coffee bar make it seem like home. Great for walking the west side of Manhattan. Highly recommended.
Staff is helpful and polite, room was very clean, location was the best.
Loved this hotel! Stylish, modern, staff very friendly. An amazing roof top bar area with stunning views of the city. Happy hour from 5pm — 6pm was fab and a great opportunity to meet other people. Location was brill, 10 — 15 mins walk to Times Square away from the hustle and bustle and pollution. Really nice touch from the hotel with balloons for my husbands 50th birthday and sons 16th birthday. Can’t wait to return.
Great Wine Hour! A hidden gem in Hell’s Kitchen!
Hell's Kitchen was a welcome surprise. We found many good eateries and bars and the night life was great. The room was elk appointed, including luxury robes.
We stayed here for our bachelor party, and I have to say, this was the most amazing hotel. Very modern and EXCEPTIONALLY clean. My only complaint would be that on the side of the hotel we were staying on, there was a cantina bar outside, and that place was SUPER LOUD until about 4am. I would recommend this place to everyone — you won’t be disappointed!
Worst hotel stay ever. I had to check out at 7am due the unbearable construction that began promptly at 7am. The staff was rude, unhelpful. Actually this is the worst service staff I have ever encountered. The fact that they would ever put someone in that room and not forewarn them about the construction means someone should loose their job. I checked out on 4 hours of sleep at 7 am exhausted and livid. Unreal. Truly unreal.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff! A++
I’m hard to please, very impressed with the property and customer service
I highly recommend.
Loved this Hotel! I would definitely go back. The roof top bar is wonderful. Can’t wait to come back!
Excellent hotel. Great rooms, awesome staff. We would definitely stay here again.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay this past weekend. Lovely hotel with a great restaurant, but also surrounded by excellent restaurants. Super easy to get to and from without much scary NYC driving. Staff is awesome. Love that its dog friendly.
There were plenty of rooms on a Sunday night, so why resist offering a "walk in" the same rate as found on hotel discount sites? And then, an additional $39 for a request for two beds. The room was spacious. The door didn't close properly. Very chic environment. Absolutely beautiful roof top lounge. But the whole "velvet rope" mentality is off putting.
Restaurant is awesome, I've never had a better breakfast at a hotel. Roof top bar is great and has an awesome vibe! Room has a great view, although our room looked over another bar that plays loud music until about 11:15pm. All hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful. I will definitely look for more Kimpton hotels and will hopefully stay here again!
We checked in about 2PM. We were given room 1017. We open the curtains and there was a water tank in the view from our window. How lovely. We rush to my doctor appointment at 3:30 and made on time. Wonderful news that I didn't need hip replacement. We took a cab to 99 street on Broadway to get a pair of glasses at Cohen's Fashion Optical. We took a cab back to the hotel and got free wine. At about 6 PM we decided to eat at Print. Food was good and service excellent. Tommorow we checked out and go home.
Great service, great views! Short walk to time Square. However BE WARNED about the noise. Especially if you are facing North. The rooftop club opposite plays VERY loud music until 4-5AM on Friday and Saturday nights as well as late into the evening on midweek nights. Also the general City Noise such as sirens can be heard so clearly the Windows may as well not exist. Combined with the AC in the room, which is the noisiest you have ever heard in your life (tornado in the room) … You will not be in for a good night's sleep. It's just a good job the bed is really comfortable. It's a nice hotel but the noise SERIOUSLY let's it down. Until I heard the repeated noise, this would have been 5 stars, edited to reflect that.
I was booking a room on the 3rd floor. 1) dirty. Everything was SO DIRTY!. There are so many spots on the carpet. The bed cover is also dirty. Especially, there are so many fungi and molds in the bathroom. I cannot understand how they can have a good review. 2) noises. I don't know for what a building is near the hotel. So many trucks were loading and unloading all night. It was so noisy. Thus we could not sleep. 3) rooftop. As I know, they have a good rooftop. However, only after 4 pm, people can access there. When I was in the hotel, there was a party on there, so we could not go there. It is really useless.
Beautiful, modern and bougie boutique hotel! I loved it! Great views! The Press Lounge roof top bar has the best views of Manhattan and the Hudson. Rooms are clean and calming! Its the perfect distance to not feel like your in the tourist areas but close enough to get to everything conveniently! Only 2-3 blocks to all the nightlife and restaurants in Hells Kitchen! Only about a 15-20 minute walk to all the Broadway theatres! I will definitely be staying there again on my next trip up!
Nice rooms, good staff but the windows in the rooms open… so the people next to us decided to smoke (in a non smoking room) and it very quickly traveled into my room. After multiple calls to the front desk there was nothing they could about it. We were stuck in a Smokey room and the hotel did not seem to care. They could have moved us but decided not to, even though they had available rooms. I won’t ever stay at this hotel again and I wouldn’t advise anyone else to either. The customer service is not up to par and this could be a really great place which makes my situation very sad.
Really friendly and helpful staff
As Bonner in their restaurant which was really good
Rooms large and comfy
Would have given 5 star but the restaurant and the roof top bar is overpriced
And although it didn’t affect us but (as the alcohol we had at the rooftop bar put us to sleep) the rooftop bar noise is a bit excessive I wouldn’t want a room above the 10th floor
We would certainly go back.
The hotel was very nice and the location was excellent. Beautiful view.
Did not stay but did appreciate the super friendly staff at Print Restaurant and The Press Lounge rooftop bar. Also, lobby was clean, busy and full of good energy. Looks like the hotel has bikes that guests can use. Pretty cool. I would stay here.
Exceptional hotel we had the opportunity to stay on our honeymoon perfect cleanliness, double bathroom with bathtub and shower, seen on Manhattan breathtaking, breakfast extra, entrance and reception arranged with many tastes, personal care.
I highly recommend.
Where is the love button. I supported a mentee with her conference here and the treatment was amazing. The hotel is clean. I am a big hotel critic and this one was spotless and super clean. The rooftop experience is gorgeous and the dining downstairs is great.
Beautiful hotel! Professional staff A little pricey but it's worth it. The rooftop is definitely a must go with a view of the skyline on one side and the river and the other. Located close to hell's kitchen it's very accessible.
Nice hotel with the advantage of larger than usual rooms size towards the standard in NYC. This is thanks to the building which looks like an old warehouse with big windows giving on the midtown skyline or on the river. Location is quiet at the boarder of Hell's Kitchen on 11th Avenue but not too far from the crowd of midtown and Times Square. Nice idea the breakfast on the go you can order in the morning at the counter close to the restaurant. Service is good but sometimes lacks authenticity and empathy.
Free access to the terrace. Amazing view of Manhattan. Very good memory.
Unfortunately my room is on the 3rd floor facing the 11th ave, so it was noisy as hell: people talking, car racing, horses passing by… I feels like I was sleeping on the street. I tried to switch my room to a higher floor or another window direction, and of course the front desk told me "all rooms were sold out for tonight, or you need to pay a fee to upgrade to better room". Then I asked for ear plugs and they couldn't give me any. "For safety regulations" they say. They also say this is a 4 star hotel, but it definitely owes me a good night sleep. Not coming back and wouldn't recommend to anyone don't like noisy sleep environment.
This Kimpton, just like any other, is absolutely fabulous. Their superb service sets them apart from other hotels in this price range. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. I highly recommend you check out Press Lounge on the 15th floor: one of the best Skyline views in West Manhattan. The only downside to the location is that it is not near any subway lines.
This place always feels like home to me. We had an apartment a few blocks away and the Print restaurant at Ink48 was always our favorite haunt, the PressLounge on the top floor, always a stop on any NYC tour with friends and family. I was never so excited as the day I found out that the hotel is a preferred company one and I can stay there on business now! Dog friendly, luxury accomodations and farm to table awesomeness on the edge of Hell’s Kitchen and close to Broadway shows. Hands down favorite hotel in NYC!
I'm here for a makeup conference. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Excellent attention.
The delicious desserts But the main course was not up to par.
We came to go to the rooftop bar. Arrived at 11 and were informed there was a private party until 11:30. No big deal. Then, we go to the lobby bar and that bartender tells us the rooftop will not be opening to the public at all. Now we're confused. I go back over to the elevator attendant and he says "I don't know where she got that information, they extended until 12 but we will be open after that. " Long story short, we never made it up to the rooftop because they kept pushing back the time. Very unprofessional, rude, and inconvenient. I recommend calling before showing up.
We enjoyed our stay at the Ink48, very good reception, very friendly staff, the rooms are large and offer a great view of the Hudson, without the usual din of Manhattan. The bar on the roof is worth a visit, you can have a drink with the children up to 6pm, nice to take pictures. All Kimpton hotels are dog friendly at no cost. We'll be back!
Great size rooms for NYC. Friendly and helpful staff. Had a corner King room which had a good view. We love this area as it’s out of the busy Times Square area.
I was impressed with the Kimpton48 Hotel the moment I arrived and checked in, The Hotel Rep was very helpful and my reservation to our room was confirmed and ready, This was a great 3 day weekend, I was celebrating my girlfriend birthday and we had a great time at the Kimpton48 Hotel. Our room was nice, spacious, Very Clean, The shower was perfect and we had a hot-tub in our room. The seen from our room over looking midtown skyline. I must say the entire stay was very relaxing and pleasant from the moment we arrived. They provided us with plenty of towels, (2) robs. We also had a sofa in our room which was next to oversize window with a nice view at night. I can't wait to go back.
Was pleasantly surprised at the service. Valet, concierge, and attendants were all very attentive and polite, easy to get along with. Everyone was so kind to my little puppy. Reasonable price for a LOVELY room and no pet fee! In-room dining was excellent! Beet salad was scrumptious, burger and fries did the job, plenty of little extras to buy, drinks and snacks. TV had limited channels due to connection issue. Valet was trustworthy and quick service. Overall, great experience. Will be coming back with little doggo next time!
Amazing hotel. It was my birthday. Not only did they upgrade my room but they also left me free fresh berries and champagne during turn down. The customer service was fantastic. The rooms were quiet and clean. If you have the option upgrading to a corner room do it. The view of the city well worth it. Happy Travels!
Excellent roof top. Amazing views of Manhattan.
My experience was at the bar next to print restaurant. Drinks were great but the woman who I asked to start my tab only charged me for one drink and ended up charging the rest of my bill which consisted of a burger and 2 other drinks to the main bill of our entire party after our dinner at Print. Not a crazy headache but confusion did arrive when it was time to pay the bill. We next went to a rooftop bar which looked pretty basic in regards to decorations. I guess they were counting on the view of the city to distract us from the fact that the place was so packed and every drink down to a simple beer cost $20… Or did I get taken. There was no place to even stand except outside on the terrace only because it was so Cold out.
Grest service by Elijah at the front desk. The 12th floor corner room and view take my breath away. Nice set up. The roof top bar opens after 10:30pm (private party) tonight, however so far, so good. I will stay here again!
Saw a breathtaking. The big plus the stove in a corner of the room that warms us and gives a romantic and refined side and the long "pool" outside that gives even more charm. The view at night remains magical. I highly recommend it.
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights absolutely amazing. As a full-time wheelchair user this is the best accessible room I have stayed in, plenty of room to get wheelchair around beds & the bathroom was amazing & so accessible. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The staff are so welcoming & helpful.
Stayed here for five nights in a Hudson River suite. The room was huge and well appointed. The staff were fantastic, and the night clerk who checked us in and out took great care of us. Sadly, great 1am front desk service can be hard to come by at even upscale NYC hotels, but the Ink48 was very good. On a cold windy morning the walk to the CE subway can feel a bit long, but in truth it wasn't bad after a couple of trips to get used to the walk. The area is very quiet at night, and we slept really well. Not far to Hell's Kitchen restaurants. Good for the NYC traveler who wants a nice hotel but doesn't mind a little walking.
Really nice hotel in a quiet area of Hells Kitchen overlooking the Hudson river. It's about a 15 — 20 minute walk to Times Square. There is a trendy bar with balcony looking out to the City Skyline and the river called Press. The rooms are modern and spacious, we had 2 sinks inside the room itself with a bath in the room also. As well as a seperate shower room and toilet.
I stay here for business a couple times a year. Nice, contemporary decor. Clean. Courteous, professional service. Kind of snobby vibe. They usurp one elevator every night to cater to their rooftop bar. Sucks when you just want to get back to your room and you have to wait twenty minutes for an elevator. If you want quiet, see if you can get a room on the river side of the building. City side is noisy.
Class view of the Hudson and Mahattan. In the press lounge with children between 5pm and 6pm.
Comfortable but layouts of rooms are a bit unusual. Good size and amenities. However, service leaves a lotto be desired. Food dropped on floor in front of me and not re-brought to room. Told coffee isnt allowed past lobby. Pretty loud street noise so ask for a river-facing room!
Service is excellent but the food is delicious. I recommend it.
I honestly, so far, believe this is the best built and decorated and cleanest of the hotels I've been in so far. The rooms are spacious and bright. The bathroom has a tub with separate showerand it's huge. The mattress is firm and does not move. A perfect place. Price is great as well.
Went there just for press lounge which was awesome. You get to see the views of Manhattan and also Hudson river making this place one of the best rooftop to visit. I went there on Saturday evening before sunset and it wasn't crowed at all but after the sunset, this place get little crowed. Do visit! Beautiful experience.
This is a great hotel. The staff are all very friendly and courteous. They helped us plan our walking tour by giving some solid recommendations. The room was clean and comforting, with great pillows. They even had a texting concierge in case we needed anything. Would 100% stay here again.
Views on 13th floor, but unobstructed and slick. Not 360, but pretty close (missing SW corner along Hudson). Door staff and bartenders were surprisingly friendlier than I'd expect for a euro-style rooftop, so that earns a star. But drink costs, ugh… $14 for regular beer, $21+ for cocktails. Higher than most other roofs, and that cancels out an earned star alone. Advice: Arrive before 10p on Friday and you'll have zen. After, you'll have stress.
Great view from rooftop, no Wi-Fi.
At the restaurant, the food was amazing. The staff was attentive and the ambiance was very nice. Be prepared to be cold, though, as they have the air conditioner going strong. There rooftop bar has spectacular views of both the city and the river. I highly recommend going.
Dinner at Print was very nice. My Berkshire Pork Chop was nicely done. Short ribs also got the thumbs up at my table, but the big winner was my friend who ordered the tagliatelle pasta. The noodles were perfect and the sauce went great with the delicate vegetables from the summer. Dessert with the rice pudding over a pastry shell also was quite delicious. After we ran up to the Press Room for the stunning views. We quickly felt old among the crowd so we did a few snaps of the glowing pool and the twinkling city before hopping on the down elevator.
The hotel was very nice. We had limited interaction with employees after check in, but they were very nice and helpful. The lobby, restaurant, and rooftop lounge were very cool. Drinks at the Press rooftop lounge were very expensive, even for NYC, but the setting and view are wonderful. Breakfast at Print restaurant was delicious… pricey, but not quite as bad as the drinks upstairs. The rooms were really nice, especially since we were randomly upgraded to a "city view" room. We'd definitely stay there again.
Fabulous hotel! Welcoming as we arrived. Check-in was fast and friendly. Our room was awesome! Loved the open tub concept. The rooftop view and staff was an amazing experience! Love love love Kimpton 48❤️
Oh, that was a great hotel. We were there for a week, I would like to go back to NY. But the life of a 13-year-old probably doesn't allow anything too often. But when I'm back in NY, I'll go back to the Ink48
Good room and amenities. Good location, easy to come and go. Hard to get in contact with the desk, housekeeping had issues setting the room for a third person. Breakfast food was good but service was incredibly slow.
I recently stayed at ink48 for two nights (a Thursday and Friday) with my husband and three year old. I'm eight months pregnant. We had stayed here before, and thought we would enjoy this visit as a mini-vacation before the new baby arrives. We had the worst experience I've EVER had any hotel. I would NEVER have expected for something like this to happen at a decent hotel, and for it to be handled so poorly. I feel like I have to warn ANYONE considering staying here. If you are staying here with young ones, staying for the bar exam, or basically staying for ANY reason that requires you to sleep at night without being choked out by vast amounts of weed smoke… STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Here is what happened, and I have included Kimpton's "remedy". On our second night, around 9:30 or 10 we could hear a small amount of noise, like people getting ready to go out. We could smell some pot smoke, but we aren't big complainers, and it was faint enough that it was nothing more than slightly annoying. We figured it was someone smoking in an adjacent room, and that it would go away soon. No big deal. I woke up at 1am, with the noise of a big party going on. My husband was already up, checking on our daughter who was coughing. The smell had woken my husband even earlier. The room was filled with weed smoke. We turned on the lights, and there was an actual haze you could see. It was coming from the vents.
Spent a night here after a trip to Yosemite. The citizen is a cute and well appointed hotel. The rooms are modern but blend well with the older style of the building. The bedding was super comfortable and we loved the big walk in shower. Political cartoons from the Sacramento bee grace the walls which is a nice touch considering the location. We didn't eat at the onsite restaurant but the menu looked good. We did stop in for happy hour though and really liked the space. There is a temple coffee and a Starbucks nearby as well as maybe place to walk and eat at. Only complaint is that there were a number of people on the streets with the small parks nearby and such. There is only really street and garage parking nearby so if visiting best bet is to valet your car.
Arrived at 8:45am, not counting on having a room available. Brian at the front desk was very accommodating and offered us a clean room and a suite upgrade at a great rate! The recently remodeled suite has a separate living area with leather sleeper couch and two nice flat screen TV's.
Awesome customer service! The restaurant is amazing! Great location, sirens aren't that bad. Callie & Brian were amazing staff! She went above and beyond & we are grateful for that! Clean room, perfect for 2 people. Pet friendly!
The staff here is clearly passionate about their hotel and their jobs. The hotel is classy ans beautiful. I am most appreciative that the rooms are spacious. And off the track enough the sidewalks aren't overcrowded but steps away from the hustle and bustle.
Gorgeous hotel. Amazing rooms. Incredible rooftop bar. Great customer service.
Great hotel. … $100 incidental fee per night. Rooftop amazing! views are great. Staff also.
What a lovely hotel. Stayed overnight for fiance's birthday. We had drinks at the press lounge and what a fancy place. Very nice atmosphere to relax with friends. The room we stayed in had an outstanding view and nice big bed. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking around for a place to stay.
A hotel normalucho nothing to highlight.
The hotel is very nice. I especially like the Hudson river suites, the views are amazing! BUT… DO NOT DINE HERE. Not downstairs, not upstairs, not room service. They are all terrible and RUDE. I had stayer here previously and thought the terrible dining experiences were just a one off. IT WASN'T every single aspect was a disaster again. I really liked being charged ten bucks for a two iced teas only to be told that the food I ordered was unavailable. Thanks, way to go!
True to the brand reputation, this is a lovely Kimpton hotel. Stunning views off the Cityview side, looking toward Times Square, both sunrise and sunset are gorgeous. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, happily holding our bags until check in. Only negative — and this is hardly a negative — was that the front desk staff gave the wrong times for the start of coffee service and the opening of the restaurant (which had a great veggie option) for breakfast.
Very nice hotel on 11th Avenue, located on the oitskirts of Hell's Kitchen. Staff is very friendly & helpful and keen to offer tips and help when necessary. Central Park and Times Square are well within walking distance and their are numerous great restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance. Surprisingly, the rooms were very spacious, though slightly noisy at night due to the traffic being very audible.
Ink48 and Kimpton hotels have always been very accommodating with me and my groups. It's an excellent location if you are in town for a convention at the Javits Center or want to go to a Broadway show. It's also very easy to access via Lincoln tunnel if you are coming from out of town. The rooms are nice and if you want you can view he Hudson river. The Press Lounge has a great view from the roof top bar.
Great Hotel! It's all right…
We were 2012 for 5 days and the view of the skyline is breathtaking. It has a good distance from all the trouble and can relax in peace. We would book it again and again.

Spent one night in this dump and a week later a see an additional charge on my card for 75 bucks. When I called to ask what I was being charged for they said I booked a lower rate through a third party and this was to make up for the rate.
