Reviews of Doubletree By Hilton New York Times Square West 4*
The worst experience I have ever had. The staff behavior is terrible, we felt like they were doing everything to make us to want to leave the property ASAP. We had a problem with the water in the bathroom, so they suggested us to brush our teeth with mineral water or in the lobby, and even suggested us to leave the property because we are in a free country. They didn’t let us to change room although the technician suggested us to ask for a room change.
We waited 2 hours for our room to be ready, but the food and bar is fantastic.
I stayed here back in Feb 2022 for a week and it was absolutely amazing. The room was perfectly sized for 2 people. It was spotless. The maids came everyday to tidy up and offer any bathroom products we may need. They changed the bed linens several times during the stay. All of the staff were absolutely lovely, from the concierge to the restaurant staff and front desk. The room service was amazing and the food was to die for. The concierge staff gave us lots of recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to try, they helped with our bags when we went a little overboard shopping 🫣 All in all it was an incredible stay, clean, friendly and quiet. I would be happy to stay here again!
PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE! From the filthy, tiny rooms that smell awful, to the faulty elevators that take over a half hour to get on one, this hotel is THE WORST I’ve ever stayed at. Not to mention the rude staff and faulty fire alarm system that went off TWICE in the middle of the night. Nothing like going down and then back up 25+ flights of stairs with 2 kids at 2am! Also, worst $100 breakfast with runny eggs and terrible coffee. As we were trying to be compensated for the terrible stay, multiple guests shared with me they were in the same boat and very unhappy. Please do yourself a favor, and don’t stay here!
Small room but great location.
Do not stay at this hotel! Claimed our security deposit did not go through even though the bank confirmed it did. Charged my card an additional security deposit because they said the other one did not go thorough. They told me the security deposit would be returned to me when I checked out the next day when I checked out. I did get my deposit back upon checkout and thought everything was good. They charged me a security deposit again the next day when I was no longer even staying in the hotel. Contacted them to see if they would refund it. The woman on the phone would barely even let me talk to explain what was going on. She claimed they never charged me again and that they already gave me back my money. Refused to help me even though my bank did confirm that they charged me again. Now I have to dispute it through my bank. This hotel has been a nightmare to deal with and is untrustworthy.
The staff went out there way to make my partners 50th birthday just that little bit more special thankyou it’s a great hotel with great people views food the lot.
I have see bigger rooms at some European hostels used by my young cousin. Quality of furniture is just compressed cheap wood. No space to move and no two Peale on bathroom at same time. Ancillary service not existent We are Hilton Honors Diamond and we’re never treated nor recognized Better service at Hampton Inn on 41st street. Will never used this Double Tree.
Terrible staff, rooms, beds the list goes on! Downgrade third party bookings on arrival so they can re book the rooms at £400 a night. tried to offer us free breakfast or a night refunded,, we went for the refunded but got passed from one person to the next and they all had a different tale to tell. No heating and disgusting shower also! Just avoid at all costs as there are millions of hotels in similar locations, so don't waste your money or time.
I checked in today, the lady at the front desk was actually very nice. After we checked in we realized the room was super hot! We opened the window and dealt with it cause there was nothing else we could do. Part of being a Hilton Member is getting perks, like attention, check in extras or whatever. After receiving none of the above, I called downstairs to see if I could at least get some waters due to the fact that it was super hot, I did not get mine at the front at check in, and theres literally nowhere to get any on our floor even though it says we should have a floor for ice and water. After calling downstairs the guy in the front was absolutely rude and horrible not just on the floor but even after he MADE ME GO get my stuff because he refused to send someone to fix the issue. Im not one to complain but this is absolutely unacceptable. And paying $300 a night for a small room.? No ma’am. This is ridiculous and plain stealing. Fix it: since theres no manager to talk to here…. According to front desk people.
Fabulous location — right in the centre for all attractions and landmarks.
Great location. Very nice room.
👎👎👎👎👎 🛑 Worst hotel experience that I have ever encountered at the Doubletree on 40th Street. Checked in on 8/14 to a very angry guest at the front desk. Once it was my turn to check-in, I was given room 3205. Arrived at the room to warm air blowing out of the AC. Went downstairs to advise of the issue. I was headed out to eat and was told that engineering would come by while I was out. Okay, no problem… Returned to the hotel 30-45 min later to run into the engineer in the elevator. Asked him if he had been to my room yet, and as luck would have it, he had. Down side was that he wasn’t sure if my room was cooling down. He escorted me to my room only to find that the AC was still not working. Ugh! We attempted to call the front desk from my room to let them know but the room phone did not work. Took a trip to the front desk with the engineer to speak to the manager on duty, Aaron. Aaron grunted, uttered something to the engineer and walked off into his little back office. 15 min later he came out, talked to the front desk person and I was told to get my luggage, meet her in the 29th floor, and get keys to a new room. Okay, great 👍 Meet front desk girl, got keys and walk down the hall to my new room on the 29th floor. I now have keys for room 2904. Great, I use the card to open the door, and open it to find the room already occupied. Wow! WTH? Call front desk from the 29th floor and tell them what happened.
We had a lovely stay here, Carlos the bell boy made our stay as well as the friendly staff. However, we had to pay $50 per night room deposit and were assured we would receive it within 30 days. I have emailed the hotel numerous times but have not had a response. I feel frustrated at their lack of communication. It has now put me off staying in this chain of hotels.
Without a doubt the worst hotel we have stayed at and we travel a lot! Before our stay even began we endured terrible customer service. I received no reply to an email sent to the front desk about an enquiry before we arrived (the Instagram account in all fairness did point me in the direction of the front desk at least). When we arrived the lobby was chaotic at best. We did not receive any warm cookies on arrival (not a big deal, but as the hotel makes themselves known for this it would have been nice). We also did not receive any pre-warning that $50 dollars per night would be taken as a deposit and then refunded up to THIRTY days later. The lifts throughout our stay were an utter joke. There are only four and at least one is being used for a private event or for the hotel to bring rubbish down from the rooms. One evening we waited almost 20 minutes to get into a lift and there was no stairwell to take as an alternative. The rooms themselves are tiny and dark. The majority of staff were extremely rude except for the bellboys who were helpful and friendly. Room service was not available during our stay. When we tried to order dinner at 7.30pm one evening we were told this was unavailable. When we left the hotel there were a number of unsavoury characters hanging about from the “massage parlour” next door. We were told the wrong price for the taxi to airport (booked by the hotel) which resulted in an issue.
The staff is very welcoming and kind. I really recommend Mustafá Sylmetaj, he made us feel at home and was really kind. I also recommend Liz from the restaurant at the hotel. I would like to thank them for their wonderful service!
Amazing location! The rooms are quite large and very clean.
We stayed on the 10-17 April. We arrived and was welcomed by a very lovely reception team. Our room card was ready straight away. They even gave me a bottle of wine for my birthday. The room was lovely on the 36th floor it had a coffee machine, TV to catch up on news in the morning a good bathroom the shower was hot and powerful. Used the hairdryer which was great. Fantastic location easy access to subway and attractions. Concierge were also great, they stored our luggage and arranged a taxi for our return to the airport. Had a thoroughly great experience and ignore bad reviews it simply wasn’t the case.
My best friend and I booked rooms at this hotel. However, she had booked a reservation through Booking. Com and accidentally cancelled the hotel and Booking. Com had the reservation as non-refundable. We have contacted Booking. Com numerous times and they stated it was up to Hilton to decide if they would still accommodate the reservation. We called hotel guess services numerous times and can’t believe the experience I received. First things first, having worked in customer care myself, I am fully aware of the pressures and demands of customers. However, I approach customer care with respect and patience since I know that is how they should be treated, but I did not receive that same treatment. I was yelled at and told that they have customers in front of them that need help, mind you, I am a customer with an “active” reservation at the time. I was trying to make sure the reservation remained active since Booking. Com was not helping me. I called back numerous times in hopes of getting help and received the same nasty attitude along with a hang up in my face. I’m aware of the times. The traveling industry is recovering from a recession and demands are high. However, I still expect a level of respect and kindness when dealing with customer care. I need your management to know that yours customers are not being handled with “care”.
Landed back in the UK today after a fantastic trip. The only let down was this scruffy hotel. No housekeeping AT ALL literally had to ask for more toilet roll and coffee. The lifts are an absolute joke. There are no staff Manning them so at one point 15 people piled in. You could spend half a day waiting for them. They do have a poster advising people to social distance but it's convered by a big tacky plant in the lobby. There are always dodgy people hanging around outside. Theres a really nice coffee place for take out next door don't waste your money on their overpriced pond water. The rooms are small and grubby. When I made the bed in the morning you could see through the quilt and it looked dirty. Staff are uninterested and dismissive. one good member of staff was shanice who helped with printing some docs I needed after her colleague sent me on a wild goose chase. Don't let the conceirge organise your cab to the airport either as we were over charged for that. disappointing hotel all round.
Great staff who made our 16yr old niece a virgin Mojito. Food was superb. Hotel is close to all the amenities which was great.
We just returned from a four night stay, rooms were lovely and clean, there is no room cleaning unless you request it but they tell you that on check in. All the staff were lovely and Carlos the concierge goes out of his way to help you with luggage or just general directions and questions about the city. There was only a couple of occasions where we had a bit of a wait for the lifts but that seemed to be when there were a lot of people checking in at once. Free warm cookies given on check in they were delicious I would definitely stay here again.
The service is excellent and the area is quiet it has close to McDonald's, Pizza, Wendy.
The worst experience in the world, they took my belongings from the room without authorization and without prior notification. They were delivered to me in a garbage bag. The Front Desk service Zoe at no time offered an apology and she only limited herself to saying that it was the fault of the third party. They agreed to give me a refund of two nights for what happened and as of today they have done nothing. My reservation was from august 25-29.
Great customer service and super friendly.
We had a great stay in this hotel. Rooms are small but very clean. The staff was very kind and helpful especially Carlos. He really helped us with advice and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. He helped my husband deal with parking and made sure me and my kids felt happy and safe. He even gave them some snacks 😊 Thanks so much Carlos for all your help! The lobby can be chaotic much like NYC but it’s a good location to see the city. I would highly recommend this hotel!
I’ve been calling the front desk for half an hour non stop and nobody has answered. The air in my room doesn’t work. Horrible service. do not book!
Amazing and accommodating staff.
Very nice hotel and nice view and comfortable.
The Scenery is great and the service.
The worse place to stay. Charged me for river view and gave me regular room and told me that’s the river view. I see no river. No towels in room. Been calling and calling front desk since I checked in and they do not provide the towels it’s been 6 hrs once I got here. Still no towels. Frustrated and helpless. In hotel now and not able to shower.
Never coming here again. This is the worse place I have ever stayed at.
Checked in early in the morning. While I appreciate the early check in and excellent service at check in, I am extremely disappointed of this hotel. I went to my room, and the door was open, like other rooms on the floor… No housekeeper around. Not even a single towell in the room, no bath soap, no trash bag. I left the hotel and informed the last at the desk… I place a DND and told her that I will call when I am back to my room. Arrived to the hotel more than an hour ago. There was the biggest line ever, NO social distancing, no employee to assist you since there where only two at the desk busy. Stairs close, around 50 people waiting for the elevator all together. Finally went to my room, and I have been trying to get in touch with the FD to get towels without an answer. Call from the room phone, my cellphone and nothing. The hotel offer a great price but the service not the best and short staff. Hope to get my towels tonight. Thank you.
Me and my daughter went in February the hotel service was awesome planning on coming back there when this pandemic is over and I will be staying there again!
Check in little slow. Views were great. Close to times square.
Customer service is disgusting. 2 months with no contact and no refund as promised. No communication. I wouldn’t recommend for future travel. 0 trust.
Great location. Clean rooms. Affordable rates. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you want to see everything that NYC has to offer.
Close to everything nice staff good rooftop bar.
Terrible customer service. Have been charged twice and they have been refusing to do anything about it even after I've sent proof MULTIPLE times.
Amazing place. Thank you for making accommodations for us nurses to have a safe and amazing place to stay during this crisis! Thank you!
Great location and comfortable beds.
Does not look like much from outside but once you step inside the foyer it transforms into a welcoming atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff.
Fantastic polite staff, lovely rooms, wonderful cookies and best of all a fantastic view of New York from our 26th floor room! We want to be back there now!
View from room and rooftop bar
All the staff were so helpful and accommodating
Best cookies I have ever tasted
Rooms were lovely and clean and bed changed daily
Shower amazing.
Stayed here for 7 nights this month. Two adults and two children.
Staff were exceptional, the room was clean and modern and there was daily maid service. The coffee machine and free cookies on tap were a great bonus. We loved them!
The location was spot on by the subway and a short walk to Broadway and Times Square.
No negatives. Would definitely return. Thank you.
I stayed here for one night and enjoyed it! Great location, friendly front desk staff/bellman, and great views from the 36th floor. If you have the time check out the rooftop bar.
We had a fabulous stay here. Staff were all very friendly and my teenage son loved the cookies which helped pass the time whilst waiting for the lift! excellent location for accessing all the sites of NYC and the views from the rooftop bar were stunning!
Proceed with CAUTION. The rooms are small which is to be expected we waited over 3 hours for food to come out wrong. The maids stole gifts we bought for our kids and proceeded to tell us they didn’t steal it. Don’t even try to ask for anything from housekeeping you will never get it. We asked for towels, pillows and wash cloths and got nothing had them they shut down half the elevators for there night club that are non paying customers. And to top it off Hilton doesn’t even care. Hilton lost me as a customer and I promise I will make it well known to everyone I know never to stay here ever.
Our first night and it's been wonderful. Was able to leave the bags as arrived before room was ready, all very easy and quick. Room very nice, a fridge an added bonus.
slept well, beds very comfy.
What a great location & fantastic hotel, very clean and very helpful staff. I went for my 50th and my room was upgraded for stunning views the rooftop bar/nightclub was amazing would definitely come back to this hotel thank you for a fab stay
Jenny & John.
Central location. Room is a bit small but nicely done out and the bathroom is lovely, very nice products in there as well. City
View so cant wait for it to get dark!
Fantastic view from the 37th floor bar (no under 21’s allowed) brilliant customer services. Clean rooms (although small) ignore comments about having to wait for lifts obviously a hotel of this size you can’t just walk into one immediately but doesn’t take long. Great location 5 minute walk to Times Square. Loved the hot cookies from reception. Great touch and also providing water for trip home.
Excellent hotel… Excellent food, excellent rooms, excellent service, excellent location.
Only thing let it down for us was an incident on the last full day, we opened a fresh bottle of coke in the morning before heading out for the day, when we got back in the evening my son poured a drink and found lots of (what I can only describe as) polystyrene balls in the bottle. As far as I'm aware the only other people that would of had access to the room was the cleaners.
I mentioned it when we checked out and the lovely receptionist took the bottle and said it would be investigated, I was hoping for some feedback but heard nothing.
Hopefully it was just a one off, other than the incident I really couldnt fault it.
Unfortunately when we walked in the room we could smell a hint of cigarette smoke. We called the front desk and were told someone would be right up to address it. No one ever came up. The shower door doesn't close and there were huge puddles of water to clean up after our showers. In room coffee pot was broken and replaced upon request. House keeping however did not replenish the coffee. That was provided after requesting it. The elevators are very very slow. Definitely not the experience we expected of a Hilton property.
Nice hotel located very close to the times square. While the facility is good and room has the amenities like iron board, complimentary coffee and tea, overall the room size is small. Some rooms have a small refrigerator while some do not. There is a safe at an odd location in the room next to the bed. The rooms are like small cubes with features like digital vault, iron board and iron, machine for warming water + coffee, tea sachets. I had a complimentary breakfast package which required me to a collect a coupon every morning from the front desk — for a hotel that provides services to unlock room from mobile app, this was rather a poor service. Had to queue up every day and get late for work. The breakfast is decent with limited vegetarian options. Not all floors have refrigerator in the room. Wi-Fi is free, they give cookies during check-in.
So far, we are having a great time at the DoubleTree Hotel off of 9th Street. We are in a room with two full beds, and although small, they have accommodated as well. The bar on the top floor is extraordinary, with great views of the entire city of New York. We have not eaten at the restaurant but I've been told it is fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that would like to be in the Midtown area.
Great location and super convenient. Our room was super clean and the staff was really friendly. The convenience of the hotel is just incredible; you cannot beat being within walking distance from Time Square.
The service was very friendly and quick. Although the room size was very small and almost claustrophobic. Other than the size the room is stylish and clean. The biggest downfall is hearing basically everything outside your door. It makes it seem much less private. I was woken up a few times by people talking out in the halls, you hear them like they're in your room.
I recently stayed at Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square West and I cannot recommend them enough! The hotel was very clean, rooms were very stylish and comfortable, the cost was quite reasonable and the staff were extremely nice. I stayed for 5 nights with my now Fiancee. Living in Ireland the pressure of organising a rooftop proposal at the High Bar which was on top of the hotel was less stressful due to the dedicated help from Yajaira who was one of the front desk managers. She really helped me pull off an amazing proposal! Also, I must praise Ricardo who was one of the managers of the High Bar because he helped out with my proposal too making sure everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square West if you're looking for quality everything at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them for special occasions!
Very disappointed with this property. I was shocked to find out there was literally zero bathroom counter space. There isn’t even space to put a toothbrush in a cup! Imagine that! The room is actually decently sized, but who thought that travelers wouldn’t be needing counter space in the bathroom? This is also pretty well hidden from sight in the hotel photos. The toilet paper rack is literally the length of a pinky finger, so it’s virtually impossible to use toilet paper without the roll falling on the floor. Elevators are slow, but I’m not taking them into account as this is pretty typical for NYC. My room was right beside the ice machine that emitted high pitched noise all night! Try sleeping with that! Overall, this hotel is very well located, and quite pleasant, but the two factors I described put it well below even a 2 Star property.
So close to everything including the subway. Check in was a breeze at 7:00 p. M. Rooms are small like you would find on a cruise ship but well equipped. The beds are comfortable. The wait for an elevator gives you time to talk to other guests if you are inclined that way. Some great restaurants nearby. Everyone of the staff except the early morning checkout gal was above average. Our room was spotless. Will stay here again.
Nice hotel located very close to the times square. While the facility is good and room has the amenities like iron board, complimentary coffee and tea, overall the room size is small. We had a great time — 6 day/nights at the hotel! Small room but very nice bed, we loved the complementary coffe in the room an the cookies we got in the receptiondesk, cake and coffe morning and night, perfekt! A bit uneven refill by the cleaningstaff, we had to call for extra toilettpaper and some days they filled up sugar and other days they filled up only the coffe!
But we just called or went down to get it and there where never any problems!
Breakfast was supernice, all t…he food was great but the staff made it worth every penny we spent! So lovely and friendly and really took their time to speak to us during breakfastserving!
Rooftopbar was awesome, we had drinks there on a tuesdaynight and the party was just starting up when we left at 11 pm!
We can strongly recommend to stay here!
Great place to be in Time squares the view is breathtaking. I love luxury and finesse, and I must say this place has both.
Good location, warm staff, cookies at check-in.
Very noisy heating system, double room rather small, with difficulty in moving luggage, but also very convenient.
The location of the hotel is good for travelers because is right behind the Port Authorities. Keep in mind that they might be some homeless people walking outside, very closed to the building is located a soup kitchen as well. The rooms are pretty small, but clean (fresh towels and sheets). Unfortunately, takes for ever to take an elevator in the morning. Our room was right across the elevator by the way and it was loud most of the time. The staff is friendly and always helpful.
The Bad: The whole room stank of cigarettes. So did the hallway. Do all the rooms in New York City smell of cigarettes? Cleaning gal spent progressively less time cleaning my room each progressive day. Rooms are traditional NYC size. Tiny. Feels very much like the cramped room of a cruise ship. A noisy location with active drug sales/use in the open up and down the block. The Good: I got a deal. $118/night. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could because it was cheap. Bed is comfy. View was great from 28th floor. Window opens and you have your own air conditioning and heat controls. Fast elevators. Also $1 pizza next door and lots of NYC style shopping, food, and fun in any direction. Did I mention it was $118/night.
From the rooms there is very good view!
Very good service and great facilities.
A very comfy, lovely and high standard hotel nearby Times Square, Port Authority bus station and Madison Square Garden (also not far from Empire). The room was quite small but well-equipped, neat and the bed was heavenly. It was easy to use the public transportation to move from hotel to the attractions and back. There was also lots of different breakfast and dinner restaurants close by. The staff was helpful and nice, the room got cleaned every other day. The complimentary Wi-Fi for Hilton Honors Members was sufficient for our needs.
Extremely small rooms. Good location. Fair price. Clean.
Rooms were tiny but we paid $70 per night which is pretty ok. Room was clean and serviced nicely. The area does not feel to great to run around at night. TV was limited in volume which made it difficult when trying to watch a movie vs AC noise. Had to turn off AC to be able to watch TV or sleep at night. Decent place for cheap. Recommend if you are not easily scared or expect large rooms. We had our suit case blocking on side between bed and wall. So for lot of luggage not preferable. Overall good. Not amazing.
Hotel is nice. Rooms are mega small almost too small for 2 people and it is sooo mega cold in the room. Climate stands at 32 degrees but it is bitterly cold.
Good location but that's where it stopped! Room was so small it felt like a coffin… and that was on their hilton honours floor. Having to wait 10+ minutes for lifts that don't come is frustrating at best. Been waiting 12÷ hours for someone to fix an issue in the room and still waiting! Why the hell would you build a hotel without staff elevators? Who is more important guests or staff? Overcharged at breakfast and staff seem very disorganised and wait time excessive at times. Overall a very disappointing experience from Hilton!
Great place to stay for your first time in NY, in addition to all of the praise on the cleanliness, courtesy, comfort, etc. It is in the heart of NY in the most beautiful point of the City you will discover only if you come here. What to say the hotel provided everything except the reducer (outlet), take it home, fhon iron present. Excellent gym x who wants to entertain a little bit, good rufftop on the 36 floor with a spectacular view, we are 10 mins from timesquare, you will find them bus discovered that make the tour of the City. It all it takes 2/3 full days without going into all the museums with an average cost of 130€ (65A HEAD) of the bus a couple more food and extra. Is also included in the tour boat. The last council get equiped is very, very cold x the roads, we a-10c* period 18gennaio2018.
Perfect Hotel for you to visit NY! Equipped with rooftop. Very good value for money Very friendly and helpful staff.
This is my worst hotel stay in a very long time and I travel at least 3 times per month. We were given the wrong room on check in, no Wi-Fi code and meal vouchers both prepaid. We are now in our 2nd rm, noted a foul smell but didnt want to change rooms again. Left for the day, waiting 20mins in line downstairs for the the elevator got upstairs smell is now much worst! Tried calling downstairs multi times b4 we got help. Turned out sewer smell from pipes stinking up the room! Not worth the stay!
Very nice hotel. Maybe close to the weekend it started to fill up and it cost getting elevator.
Very good location Now you leave a few hours of the vacation waiting for the elevators. There are only 4 and there are few.
Great Hotel. We were together with my wife for 4 nights and we found that right from the start. The hotel is centrally located and close to the Metro and bus station of Port Authority. The cookies they produce are very good. See you soon.
Most reviews say it's small. Well yes and it shouldn't be a surprise since this is NYC. Space is a premium in the city. Otherwise very clean and very friendly staff. The bell staff is very kind and go out of their way to help you. The people behind the counter are courteous and professional. Rooms were very clean and cozy. We had double bed room with view and stayed 1 night. Close to time Square and Port authority. Elevators were super busy upon checkout.
The room was nice and comfortable. It was a very busy lobby, but the wait to check in was quick. If you drive though, don't be fooled by the "valet" parking. You must park on the street and come inside to check in before they take you car to park it. Then when my car was returned, it had snow all over it, so it had been parked outside. I was very disappointed in that since it costs $65 dollars per night!
It is a beautiful hotel but I imagined much more, it is expensive and does not have great things, eata very close to the valley of Silicon Valley, we ospedamos here as we were going to the offices of Google a great experience, the only bad thing is that nobody speaks Spanish, when say nobody is anybody! That's the only detail after all good! The WI fi, is Payment.
Fantastic place with friendly staff! Chu is absolutely fabulous! She was extremely helpful in assisting with whatever I needed and answering several questions about my stay and the surrounding areas. Want the best view and photo opportunity a hotel can offer? Stay here and ask about the rooftop! I definitely recommend it!
Great, but ordered high, in my case I got a very low floor, without any view.
This hotel was centrally located, clean, and friendly. If I was visiting as a tourist, I would not have had an issue with the room as I would have not been in it very much. I travel for business needs however and the room was just too small. No where to put my bag, tiny computer work desk and chair that backs right up to the bed. No room in the bathrooms to even unpack your toiletries. The elevators were pretty slow to but that's to be expected at a place this busy.
I stayed here for 4 nights. Really beautiful hotel entrance, and the staff is so service minded. Loved the staff! I gave the hotel 3 stars due to the room. It is a 4 star hotel, but I would like a robe, slippers and a refrigerator. The room was OK, small but I know that that is NY standard. A bit torn even tough the hotel is new? It is clean but as I said, looks older than it is. Perfect location. Overall a nice hotel!
Relatively central location. Quiet location.
Lovely hotel. Can't beat the cookie. Received welcome water bottles as a Hilton Honors member. Hotel room was quaint, comfortable, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, although lacking counter space, it was a pleasant and clean bathroom. The elevators weren't AS slow as people made them out to be, It's a large hotel with many floors. Only area of improvement would be that the elevator bell could be heard from the room, and was a little too loud for my taste. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with a quaint feeling.
Great location, the rest is not particularly recommended.
Very noisy room, you hear the neighbors snoring.
The staff was super friendly and helpful! They made the stay so much better. And the warm cookies and water bottles when checking in were awesome. The rooms were a tad small but that's to be expected for new york. There is a bit of a wait for elevators at busy times but it was never too bad. Would totally recommend staying here!
Very clean hotel. Are very satisfied.
Very friendly staff, with advice and action. Very tasty cookies. Hammer Outlook (see picture)
Really a 3.5 but I'm feeling generous. My girlfriend and I stayed here in my parent's stead, as they had an emergency and couldn't cancel the booking. The room was extremely small, not cozy small, but claustrophobic small. However, this did not negatively affect our experience as I imagined it would when I first opened the door to the room. It was clean and had modern decor. No fridge was present in the room, which would've been nice, as we brought some drinks back to our room later in the night after a failed attempt to visit the rooftop bar (see below). The bathroom was quite modern as well and also meticulously clean. The hotel apparently doesn't supply toothpaste, which was unfortunate to find out at 2AM right before we crashed. Aside from the missing toothpaste and fridge, there was nothing wrong with the room — I just have stayed in much larger/fully featured rooms in the city for much less than my parents paid for this one. The only other experience I can weight in on was our limited interaction with hotel staff. The check in clerk was pleasant and got us our room keys quickly, and he let us know that there was a rooftop bar (we were unaware). When trying to visit said bar later that night via the only elevator that travels up to the roof, we were instructed by a rude attendee that we needed to first leave the hotel and get stamped at the club entrance, which had a line around the block. He seemed annoyed that we had even attempted to get on the elevator.
Cookies on check in is the best thing ever. We don't have that at home in the UK. The rooms are a but on the small side, but are functional. Showers are lovely, with a fair amount of power and good hit temperature. The lift can take a while and is usually full — a slight issue when there are 35 floors and 600 odd rooms. Breakfast is great, yet expensive when you add the tip on. They use the dining area as a club at night, so it can get loud. The lobby is not great for sitting and chilling due to the parties. Location of the hotel is spot on, you are right beside the main bus terminal in the city as well as a Subway station. If you ask nicely, you may get warm cookies on check out too! Great housekeepers in a good hotel!
This hotel was amazing. The check in and check out process was fast and easy. You get a cookie when you check in. There is always cold water available at the lobby. The rooms are small but that's just new york. The rooms were tidy and clean and the hotel is in a great location. I recommend this hotel and would definitely come back here.
Had a great stay here. Room was clean, bed comfortable and staff was very friendly (the breakfast staff was just okay, but their 20% tip was automatically added to your bill so there was no motivation for them to be attentive). The elevators have unusually long wait times so plan extra time.
What a great Hotel, when everything went wrong with our air flight and messed up our hotel check-in they stepped up and took care of us! They did everything to make sure our stay was awesome! There is an great coffee shop with the best coffee and sandwiches right next door! Minutes away from time Square, and in the middle of everything! We have the subway right here to get to everything on lower Manhattan or our baseball games in Queens! Love it and we'll be back!
Good repair, and prices.
Check in was quick and the front desk was friendly. The rooms were pretty standard, nothing special. The biggest issue with this hotel was the elevator situation. We regularly had to wait at least five to ten minutes for an elevator because they were often full and slow. Thank goodness we were on the tenth floor (as opposed to thirtieth) — we basically climbed the stairs unless we had our bags with us.
Good attention from the staff, the rooms are comfortable, not very big but sufficient.
After finally finding the entrance while they working around the main entrance and splashed who knows what on us… we got to wait in a line at the front desk (almost always a line). We dropped off our luggage so we could get a late dinner and came back to find the room was made up (as for a continuous guest — soap, shampoo, other trash from previous guest, etc) so they moved us to the room next door with 2 doubles instead of our requested king bed. The room was beautiful, but in the remodeling they left the old heating/cooling system in place. It would come on every 15 minutes or so with a deafening loud blower system that froze one side of the room and left the other hot. Regular events plus daily rooftop restaurant blocked off half the elevators. It was not uncommon to have a lobby full of people fighting for an elevator. And not a single sign from the construction to the out of service elevators when you stand like a fool in front of a bank of elevators that will never come. At one point, they actually threw my wife and 11 year old daughter off the elevator they were already in (they weren't monitoring the elevator and without signs, how would they know). $400 a night to throw a little girl out of an elevator?
For us, the perfect Hotel — super central location — Times Square — Metro Station — clean — new — great view of the race — class thought.
Hotel just steps from Times Square. Room nice and quiet although a bit small for two people, there is no space for the suitcases. The bed was comfortable. The shower is spacious, but there is no shower head, which can be annoying since missing the bidet. It also lacks the mini-bar. The rooms are rebuilt every day, do not forget the tip for the room service.
The hotel is centrally located so it's great for tourists. Prices are fair. The rooms are a little on the small side but they are immaculately clean. Rooms and bathrooms are modern, in excellent condition and the television was high def. There is a rooftop bar and restaurant here. The staff at the front desk are helpful, cheerful, inviting and professional. This is a great place to stay. One caveat however. It is very close to the Port Authority and I wouldn't suggest walking around the area alone at night. Really an outstanding hotel, that is well maintained with great prices for the area. Highly recommended.
The room is too small, the bathroom can barely turn around, the Elevator have to wait a long time, the room sound insulation is poor, Breakfast expensive and poor service. Never live!
We had a wonderful stay. The staff at check in started our stay off right with a warm and courteous welcome. It is very centrally located for trips to Times Square, the Theater District, and Hell's Kitchen. Rooms were clean and beautiful. Bathroom was awesome. And yes, a bit snug, but this is NYC! Elevators were not too slow, although we did not come in and out at peak hours and stayed on a low floor so we could take the stairs down. Other staff were friendly and quickly responded to any need we had. We'll be back!
I loved my Stay at this place thanks to Roland! He did his best to really make me feel welcomed and I was blown away by the general customer care that he portrayed, couldn't ask for more especially at this affordable price. Everything was great from the breakfast to the late night roof top parties, be sure to dress classy because they have a dress code for the roof but who hasn't really? The staff was super helpful they really make you feel like family, if there is a problem they'll help you out in a second! I plan on making this my Main hotel when coming to Manhattan again :) For those who are still contemplating on hotels in Manhattan look no further let this be your experience this is what a REAL hotel is like!
Great location and renovated building. My pre-arrival experience was great thanks to Charlie, the front desk manager, who went out of his was to make us feel welcome. The breakfast staff was less than attentive and the rooftop bar closed early so we didn't get to see it, but the hotel is impressive and modern. The rooms are plenty spacious and clean. My only complaint is that the shower curtain was not long enough, causing the entire bathroom floor to become soaked and slippery after using the shower. This is an easy fix… get a longer shower curtain so the water stays in the shower. A minor detail like this makes a big difference. Overall the stay was wonderful. Kudos to Charlie! We will definitely return.
To stay in NYC it is good. It is new what you see here and there. But it is centrally located and is on the Metro and times square.
Excellent staff. Scarce lifts.
Good the attention. Rooms girls.
Pretty cool view in the Bar on the roof!

Perfect location for everything we needed! Our room was VERY clean and our view was Great! Staff was EXCELLENT and checking in & out was a breeze (was surprised since is was July 4th week). I had read reviews about long waits for the elevator, but it was just like any other 36 floor hotel. It wasn’t bad at all! NO complaints at all! Would DEFINITELY stay there again! Thank you for a VERY Pleasurable stay!
