Friendly staff and great location.

WALK AWAY! THEY ARE THIEVES Do not book any trip in this hotel, no matter it is from a travel agency or directly on the website. These people are thieves. They took money from me without any of my consent and did not refund. Explanation: I booked a solo trip for New Years Eve in NYC at Distrikt Hotel. I was glad to find a great location hotel and not insanely expensive.
When I checked in, they took my credit card print. They were supposed to charge $350: $200 for tax not refundable and $150 refundable (a guarantee).
In fact, they took over $600 without any permission pretending the travel agency did not pay and I had to honour this debt as a client! (WTF? )
On the same day, I was refunded half of the stolen money because the travel agent honored his payment. But as for the rest? When I was finally able to reach them after tons of emails and some expensive phone calls because I was not in the US anymore they never recognise they actually stole from me. They never organise anything to give me the refund they were supposed to and also never made any apology regarding emptying my bank account without my consent. Please! Do not do the same mistake as I did, do not book anything with this hotel or with this company. They are not professional and worst, there are thieves.
Walkaway from them, it is only a waste of time and a large amount of money.

Hotel amazing staff exceptionally helpful room clean and tidy toiletries provided the added bonus on check out organised transfer to airport at roughly same price as yellow taxi. Asked for a kettle upon arrival and was in our room before we got back upstairs nothing is too much trouble and cant wait to return 100% thank you to all the staff the management should be proud.

What makes this hotel great is without doubt the staff. Outstanding friendliness and extremely helpful, everyone one of them. It's also a great location very close to Broadway and Times Square amongst other places. Would without question stay here again.

I was a guest of the hotel on Sept 8th. Few days after I left a noticed a U$40, 00 charge on my credit card. For my surprise when I contacted the hotel, they told me it was due to 4 hangers "missing" at the room. I´m very upset and frustating, I stayed only for one night with a very small hand bag. I still trying to solve this with the hotel, but not successfull so far.
Ps. Where I live in Brazil with 40dollars I could have at least 50 hangers!

Great location in the Theatre district, a practical hotel perfect for this kind of city break. We walked from the Empire State Building at midnight back to the hotel with no problems. Very clean room, lovely staff on the desk and a great bar. Would definately stay again.

The hotel was pretty nice, though we were promised two bottles of water and free coffee and didn't recieve any of the above. Little too pricey for sheets that have stains on them. But loved the bathroom and atmosphere.

I went to this hotel for the weekend and ended up deciding to do it again! Distrikt is located not too far from the Lincoln Tunnel and a short walk from Time Square. The very block that Distrikt is situated in has several bars and taverns, a convenient 24 hour pizza shop, and a shopping area that leads to more avenues of interest. I was surprised by how many floors were in the hotel building, and the comfort of my room. I was a guest inside a room with 2 beds and a room overlooking a busy street. The mattresses provided a good night's rest and any of my concerns were quickly addressed by the hotel staff. The lobby was very accommodating, and quick to resolve any of our concerns. This 2 night stay led to one of the best weekends I ever bad this summer!

Stayed for the first time last week it was convenient for me… for where I needed to go was in walking distance… as for the staff everyone seemed very friendly… but I had the hardest time trying to check in… credit machines wouldn't run my cards correctly had to cancel and charge multiple times until I was left with no choice but to pay cash and get charged ATM fees… hallways and elevators extremely hot… room was clean… but the A/C sucked… had it on 60 on the highest fan setting and it barely was cool… needless to say my family and I weren't comfortable sleeping… now in my opinion the worst thing and extremely dangerous was… a window in our room… I want to say it was five feet high and wide… and opened all the way into the room (I was on the 28th floor) and to me that's a big accident waiting to happen… I checked all over and could not find a locking mechanism anywhere… and if there is one they made it impossible to find… so I'm not sure if it was only the room I was in… but be very aware of this before you stay here with younger children… and if there are other rooms like this… I would get into those rooms and start installing locks right now.

Excellent location, a short walk from times square. Lots of great places to eat nearby. Very friendly staff and very spacious rooms for NYC. Nightly rate insides 2 drinks at the hotel restaurant, too!

Hotel is very nice. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Location is really good. Right across the big bus terminal, 10 minutes walk from times square and 5 minutes walk from Subway station. Hotel lobby is a bit small but they were very quick to get us checked in and out.

I liked staying in this hotel for the most part. The help desk Linda was very nice and friendly and the lady bartender as well. However, there is more work needed in how managing the concerns of their guests. Our TV was not working and nothing was done about it. We call and went in person to claim the issue but nothing. It was unfortunate because we decided to leave our PC home since in the advertising they talked about a TV. In addition, the hair dryer was not work and after notification, we didn’t receive anything instead.

Spent 4 nights here with my BFF and my goddaughter when they flew in for a convention. Location was excellent. Very close to theater and garment districts as well as Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Front desk staff? BEST EVER! By far the most helpful, courteous, kind and friendly of any hotel I've stayed in. The room was fabulous — clean and bed was comfy. The shower? AMAZING! Water pressure was fabulous and shower head had a setting so the water would beat right down on you. So lovely after a day of walking around the city. Our room was not gigantic; however, we were in NYC to sightsee, not lounge in the room. Worked out fabulous for us. Will definitely be returning!

The staff was really friendly and the location is in good walking distance from Times Square. The rooms very modern-looking and super-clean, but they are a little small. It's very convenient for visitors from out of town that are on the go all day for site-seeing and other NYC tourist attractions. I do have to say that the beds are quite comfy though. I slept like a baby all throughout the night. The secret is in the pillows! Loved the pillows.

Great hotel, well situated in the centre of NY and within short walking distance to Time Square. The staff at reception, at the bar and the chambermaid are so friendly, helpful and professional.
The room was great — had the king size bed. The view magnificent.
The only improvement I would recommend would be the breakfast menu. They could simply offer toasts or bread with butter/jam.
We stayed 5 nights in March. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Also would suggest getting a 3 day New York pass and the hop on hop off bus. Great value.

Great hotel for my first trip to NYC! Loved the bar vouchers for free drinks (ask the front desk). The hotel is close to the subway and time square. Everything you need is right here. Learn the subway and get your tour of the city started. Everyone working here was very helpful in getting me thru the city. Will for sure stay here again. Thanks so much!

This is a beautiful and clean hotel. All the staff from the car to the bar, etc. We're exceptional! Very friendly and very professional. Room was wonderful. Bathroom was wonderful. Only thing not real thrilled about is the hotel "resort" fee. It would be nice to opt out of it if only staying for a day or 2. Not really necessarily a perk to pay $25 for high speed internet, gym, 2 bottles of water, and 2 drink tickets for the bar. Don't need the internet with my cell phone, and don't need to gym if only staying for a night. But, still we enjoyed our stay and will most likely stay there again.

Small boutique hotel at the corner of the theater district. Efficient check in and check out. Room clean updated reasonably spacious. A relative bargain when we went. Would go again at the same price point.

Nice, very clean, quiet and we'll appointed rooms. Towels and linen changed every day. The staff were excellent throughout! Hotel bar seemed pricey (3 Beers $26), but then this was my first trip to NYC and I've nothing to compare it with. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed staying here. The hotel is in the perfect location and was reasonably priced. The hotel is very clean and the elevators are fast! We felt very safe. I loved the guess service. Brittney was very friendly and helpful. The entire staff was great! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! We plan to stay here again!

Central and strategic for tourist comfortable rooms.

Located in the 42 Street transportation hub location, there are more than many subway lines can sit, where is convenient, around the lively, safe, from The Times Square, Broadway are very close (walk 10 points within the must to), eat, buy things are very convenient, 24 hours counter is very friendly, room cleanliness is also good, in addition.

We spent a single night during a two-day visit to New York. The location was convenient and felt safe even after dark. The staff at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful, the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Access to restaurants and the theater district was easy, and the subway stations were nearby. We had a great time and would definitely return.

Hotel is in a good location to walk to the major attractions. It does not have room service and it has no restaurant inside they only make sandwiches. Breakfast is served after 7am and for those who get up early especially with the time zone must go and look outside. The street where it is located is not really quiet seen the liquor store near them. The staff is very nice and very helpful.

Spent four days here and it was perfect. Great location, especially for first time NYC visitors. Two of us stayed in a small, single bed room, but it wasn't so small it felt chlostrophobic. Since most of your time is spent in the city anyways, you don't need anything big. Clean, friendly staff, overall great place to rest for busy days in the city. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Hotel is starting to show its age. Bedroom area was comfortable and clean but there was a mildew smell coming from the AC unit and the TV was almost non-functional as most channels were affected by a low signal condition. The bathroom was really showing its age as the fixtures were worn with the shower faucet handle coming off in my wife's hand. All in all I would say this was a three star property not a four star as shown on the site where we booked. It did not help to find that on the day we arrived Google was reporting a nightly rate a full $60 less than what we paid just a few days before at the time we booked. Front desk staff was uninterested in our experience at check out. We won't be back.

Well when the staff greeted me the front desk person. Thought I looked like I didn't belong there. Once I told her I was staying she was surprised and her attitude changed. She was rude at first. Rooms were nice and clean. Windows were dirty though. The bar was nice. But after ordering drinks. The bar tenders acted like no one was there. So that was off putting. Everything was fine except the staff.

Good Hotel near Time Square. In the room on the 14th floor every now and then you could hear a tic tac at night annoying. Then in the bathroom I did not find bath foam but only soap. For the rest good welcome and friendly staff.

Out of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to the States, the Distrikt was definitely our favourite. The first thing that was amazing about this hotel was the warm and welcoming staff who greeted us every time we walked in the door. They were ready to help and gave us the best advice regarding travelling throughout the city. For such a small hotel we were shocked with how large the rooms were. We had two rooms, one with two double beds and one with a king bed. They were clean, sophisticated, convenient and comfortable. The brownies you receive when you check in are delicious and the chocolates are lovely that you get at turndown. The room was practical and comfortable even with all our luggage. The free Wi-Fi was also a great bonus. One of my other favourite things about this hotel is LOCATION. It is just a five minute walk from Times Square, whilst avoiding the huge price tags and noise that comes from being in the city centre. Although there are a few people hanging around the Port Authority at night, it was completely safe to walk through. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning to this hotel!

We stayed here for one night, very comfortable. In a relatively busy time of year, the lobby and the Elevator seems pretty small, but I guess it's not in the hall, and go to sleep. Room very clean, very modern. This is our first time in New York, we just got to New York in half an hour, so from the subway station to start, in order to find this hotel cost us some Kung Fu, but other than that, this hotel is good.

Good room size is just right. You do have to walk a long obscure not many neighborhoods to get to Times Square, but it does not make people feel unsafe. This hotel is close to the next Seasons Hotel, so it is not a slum. The staff, especially the night Manager, always very good, helpful and friendly. Apparently that's not cheap New York City hotels are not cheap.

Clean, friendly staff and every option you would need from electronic cords incorporated into the alarm clock, a vending machine in the lobby for electronic cords, external batteries (great for recharging on the go), and hot chocolate or water with orange slices in the lobby. Great views, conveniently located next to Port Authority (we took a bus in), two food markets, several restaurants including curry, wings, $1 slice pizza (plain, tasty and huge-toppings extra) and a great Irish pub. Reasonably priced for mid-town, close to subways, Times Square, and Bryant Park. Stay here!

Worse $300/night hotel I've ever stayed in. Started with Wi-Fi cutting out every 4 minutes and a rude response from the front desk. Rooms are small and run-down… but the worse part was the cleanliness… especially black mold in the showers. Stayed 2 nights and left…

Distrikt has very friendly and helpful staff. My room was well appointed and clean if typically NewYork small. The hotel is new and all fixtures and electronics worked well. Good Wi-Fi. Steet noise was tolerable and the location is perfect, an easy walk to Times Square, Empire State and the piers. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to other travellers.

We stayed here for one night while in the city. The hotel is super modern and chic and the cost was reasonable compared to other places and there was no resort fees tacked on, it was also a few blocks from Times Square. The only complaint we had was our comforter had a wierd wet stain on it when we went to go to bed, we hadnt been in the room other than dropping our bags off so it was a little bit gross but we just put it on the side, other than that the room and hotel was clean. The staff was really friendly and helpful and they checked our bags until our room was ready and then let us keep our bags there even after we checked out and when we were ready to leave the city. They also offer complimentary coffee in the morning and hot chocolate at night when its cold. We would stay here again, just check the bed first.

A friendly experience from the start. There was a slight mix-up at check in but it was sorted promptly and we are compensated with a free breakfast in the restaurant (which was lovely). The team were willing to answer any questions we had, the room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, the view from the room was incredible, and they even had complementary hot cocoa in the lobby! Overall, we had a brilliant time in New York at a brilliant hotel.

So far my favorite hotel in NYC. Modern, clean, comfy ded, great view from the 26th floor where I stayed, 5mins walk to Times Square… I can go on.

The hotel is small but has a lot to offer. The staff is amazing, always with a smile and ready to offer assistance. Loved the courtesy chocolates and next day forecast everyday in our room when we came back. The hotel is at a great location, a walk away from times square or the central station, where you can go anywhere you want with your metro card. Great experience!

The staff at the hotel was absolutely amazing. I proposed to my gf in the and flew back to for a final night before going home to DC. I could not have picked a better hotel. Everything was perfect! They exceeded all my expectations. Desiree was fantastic and welcoming as soon as we walked through the doors. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thank you Distrikt Hotel for a great 10 year anniversary vacation! The room was clean and comfortable, the service was great, and the card and cupcake congratulating us on our 10 years of marriage was above and beyond. Will definitely stay here again in the future. Love this hotel, stayed in August 2013 and again in June 2015, currently looking at staying here again in July 2016, it's hard to find anything in NYC to equal this gem. The rooms a comfortable, clean & modern and the service here is great, so friendly and helpful, the breakfasts are awesome too! Love the location, perfect for the things that I love to see and do in New York and the Port Authority terminal across the road makes getting around New York so easy. Looking forward to hopefully returning again next year :)

My new favorite place to stay in NYC! Lovely modern hotel, with great views over the city. Room is clean and well presented, with large TV, coffee maker and small fridge. Staff are out of this world. So helpful and always greet you with a smile. Our particular thanks to Hugo who greeted us when we first arrived, and then remembered our names throughout the stay. Lovely personal touches like that just made this a fantastic break. Will be back!

Excellent place to stay! Rooms very clean and comfy. The rooms are not spacious but have all the essentials. Reception staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. Adrian and Neesha from the reception crew were fantastic and very knowledgeable. The location is fantastic! Housekeeping staff (Rose) always fixed our bedroom to an immaculate presentation and always had a small chocolate next to our pillow. Definitely recommend this place. I also want to commend the hotel management for raising the bar and training the staff to assist their guests who are far from home but feeling at home. Thanks and well done.

This is a lovely little hotel really local to Time Square and Hell's Kitchen. It's surprisingly small with I think four rooms a floor. I had a view of the hotel on 39th Street so not great but what else could I expect in New York. I can't fault the staff, they were really helpful and offered me a few good places to eat and drink locally. The only, and I mean only, problem was the fact they wanted to charge me for extra coffee in the room — which is fine — but i'd not been drinking the tea, I should probably have said to keep the tea. I'd visit again tomorrow given the chance, brilliant place.

I really love this little hotel. Especially for the deal I got. It does cost a bit more if you walk in at the desk, so you should book it online. But overall the value of it is awesome. The lobby is tiny and honesty I was kinda scared that my room would represent what I was seeing downstairs but I was wrong. Bottom line. Its really nice, clean and "like new" and they give free brownies! Yes, I would stay here again.

Comfortable, beautiful. Clean. Welcome as the Ritz! is in walking distance to everything! there is also a laundromat right around the corner. Comfortable rooms.

There's a review prior to mine that mentioned the size of the hotel — it's not the typical spacious hotel. It's on the smaller side, but everything else about this hotel made up for it. The room was clean, and big enough for my sister and I. The bathroom, the shower especially, was amazing. The hotel is near hells kitchen so on 9th street you have a range of restaurants, and it's within walking distance to Times Square. But, the best part about this hotel is the staff. You got a welcome letter and everything else, that's personalized with your name, when you first get there. Each night I found a card that had the next day's temperature and expected weather conditions. Every member of the staff greeted you if you were coming in or leaving. They were able to point out anything and everything that you could do in the area. They even had umbrella's to give out to guests when it was raining, and they would not let you go outside until they had made you aware of it! They were great. The service was above and beyond, and if I stay in NYC again, I am absolutely going to stay at Distrikt.

Stayed here for our honeymoon. It's a beautiful clean hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful the breakfast is amazing. Didn't want to leave.

It's not as spacious as the typical New York hotel but the staff, location and extras more than make up for this. It is just outside of Hell's Kitchen and within easy walking distance of Times Square and Central Park. Even better is the staff. You will not be able to go in or out without a friendly greeting. They all know the area so well. Just ask what you're looking to do and they'll reserve a table or show you the best restaurant nearby. I briefly mentioned that I had just graduated from college and that night found a handwritten graduation note and cheese cake waiting for me in my room. Truly over the top service. Side note: the showers were also great.

Though in a slightly dodgy area next to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, its still a perfectly acceptable area to explore from. The Distrikt is good value, safe, quiet, welcoming, and well appointed. I've stayed a few times, and no issues, from the warm welcome to the little touches (chocolates, free iced tea or hot cider depending upon the season) Is usually sold out, but if you book far enough ahead, you'll likely get sub 200/night rates. Recommended.

A spectacular hotel in New York, preferred to be able to walk to many areas of Manhattan. I have stayed at six different hotels in New York and this is where most liked by facilities, price and location.
