Bed was very firm. Pillows were like beach balls. Only decaf coffee in room. Curved shower rod falling off the wall, so shower curtains slid to the middle of the rod. No conditioner. Carpet stained. Sloppy paint job.

It’s ok for the money. But needs some updating.

The owner or manager there was always extremely kind. Each time we take a trip from the midwest to Cali we stop here. Food is great for the price of the room.

Got there late but the concierge young lady was Amazing. Very sweet and patient with the elderly lady checking in before me.
The room was extremely clean and we'll stocked.
Breakfast was Hardy. Plenty of choices and the coffee was fresh and surprisingly good.
I'd definitely recommend this establishment!

Clean! Very friendly staff! Comfy beds after 9 hours on the road. Just stayed overnight on our way to Arizona but was super pleased. This place should be rated MUCH higher! Breakfast was simple (waffles, cereal, oatmeal and biscuits and gravy (that tasted pretty yummy) but filling. Our picky but hungry teen boys were happy. Thanks for a great stay!

THIS EconoLodge had the best bed I've slept in in days! Everything was excellent… except for the maintenance man who's attitude said he didn't to like to be there on Sunday morning.

My room was clean. It was exceptionally quiet. Counter attendants were very helpful with directions in their town.

It wasn't the cleanest nut for the money you got her to air conditioner to cool, off and small help yourself breakfast.

Pretty much no better than Motel 6 around here. Decent rooms, free Wi-Fi and priced reasonably. Be on the watchout for metal nails however. Roofers were working during the day and dropped and carelessly left way to many nails on parking grounds.

Wobbles between two and three stars, mostly because it's in desperate need of renovation and new towels. When I arrived, furniture was in the hallways making it difficult to get to the room with my luggage. Some rooms are smoking rooms, and my non-smoking room smelled of smoke near its door due to seepage. The towels are so bad that these must be the towels nobody wanted to steal. I had to use three towels after a shower because the first towel was so worn, it was like drying myself with a sheet of paper; the second towel had a faded yellow stain that no bleach could eliminate; and the third towel was barely acceptable. The shower is worthy of note because 1) the 70's era showerhead is pleasingly strong and 2) set at such a low height that anyone 5'7" or taller will have to stoop. Perhaps people were shorter when the hotel was built. My bed was soft but okay. Rooms have air conditioning, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The motel does not have an elevator, so it's stairs to the second floor. A free breakfast is included, but it's basically toast, cereal, and coffee. They do have a waffle maker. The overall experience is close to okay but there are better options in the area.

Gentleman that checked me is was very nice. It was a nice place with a comfortable bed clean room and bathroom. Had 2 cats with us and were allowed them in the room for a very small fee.

Older hotel, friendly desk clerk and cleaning lady. Room was clean. Bed and pillow not the most comfortable but we slept good. It would not be a hotel I would have chosen normally but it was 10 at night and the only one we could find that pet friendly.

Reserved a non-smoking room, but they put us in a smoking room. The smell was surprisingly not terrible though, mostly because I think it was a "last use" room. It had a space heater in it bc the room heater didn't work. It had fresh looking paint on the walls, and the blankets were fine, but the mattress and pillows were in desperate need of updating.

Room was okay. Breakfast wasn't very good. Was a decent experience for the price.

Pet friendly, quiet, and clean on the cheap. Manager was sleeping. Had to call 300 from phone on counter, but he came right out.

We were quoted a price of $62.32 plus $5 for a pet, we were charged $80.70. The place was a dump, there was one man doing everything, he was pleasant enough, but wasn't dressed very professional (a stretched out t-shirt). The room smelled bad, towels were clean, I think the sheets were, too. The fridge didn't work, the safety lock was broken off, something was wrong with the shower knobs, barely turn them and you get scalded. I felt sorry for the employee, the daylight savings time changed, I think he overslept, another guest woke him up, there was no coffee or breakfast.

In general a nice place. The price makes it better.

The room was clean, the beds were nice, all amenities worked, the shower was good. The breakfast wasn't bad, coffee was fresh. And the price was definitely right!

It was a very nice place. Billy was very nice. Older rooms but very clean. Nice breakfast. Would stay here again if we come through here again.

Basically a dive. Dirty. Needs rehabbing. My first impression was the stinch that was apparently fabreeze that was sprayed all over the room. Seen better days with a grumpy unprofesional owner who dosent want to be there so neither do you. Argumentative. Treats guests like they are an inconvenience. No apologies for leaving food in refrigerator. The town of Tucumcari is a ghost town with more closed businesses than are open.

Nice room, and they had waffles. DO NOT prepay through Choice Rewards! they did not send the money through and we had to pay twice! It was not Econo Lodges problem. It was choice reward.

I found that per reading reviews before staying here were not in accord of my experience. The building is older 80's, The rooms were neat and clean, the carpet was clean, Cable, Wi-Fi, ac with flat screen tv. Beds are little stiff but bedding was comfortable. Breakfast starts at 6am tell 9am. Waffles, fruit, cereal, eggs, cinnamon rolls, toast, milk, juice was very delicious. Cost was 55 a night for two adults, two kids with 5 more for our dog.

Check in clerk didn't seem all there, mumbling stuff to himself while I was at counter. Room was not really clean and there was an odor. It was quiet though, except when the room upstairs flushed the toilet. Some electrical problems with a light and ac sounded bad. Unpleasant atmosphere. I won't be coming back. Other hotels at same exit.

The beds were hard and the tub was dirty. The A/c took forever to cool off the room, it was about 95 degrees in the room when we first arrived and it took several hours for the room to cool down. Over all I was disappointed in the stay.

Beds were fine but decided not to use the shower because it was dirty and all cracked. Floors were dirty.

Horrible place to stay. It smelt horrible like urine, shower curtain was stained YELLOW at the bottom, there was no shower head. Roof was falling apart over bath, chairs stained. Tub was dirty and full of hair looked like dog hair. One of our beds was dirty, lots of hair in it. Dry blood, dirt stained. It was so hot even turning the heat off did not help. On top of everything else I posted about this place we opened the window and it fell into the room. By the way this was reserved through choice hotels.

The shower ceiling leaked and was falling in the tub. I talked to the desk manager and she checked and laughed that the it was because the upstairs was leaking too. We also did not get any soap or shampoo for the nights we stayed there even after asking the front desk repeatedly. I was not impressed at all. We spend a lot of time with choice hotels and this was a huge disappointment. I expect better service.

This place is a dump! Most of the light fixtures are broken or no light bulbs… our room had two dirty towels which where left there for who knows how long… there was no soap or shampoo… the best thing about the hotel is the staged pictures on the net… save yourself some heartache and pick a different place to stay…

Was basic and more than they lead on for price, but over all big room nice bed and free waffles.

The only good thing about this hotel was the air conditioner worked and running water. The hallway and entry way was dirty. I wouldn't call it a continental breakfast. I made a 2 month reservation in advance through Hotwire at 50.00 a night, we get there and its advertising 39.00 a night. The floors were disgusting in the room and bathroom, they didn't even paint behind the bed. There was no outlet behind nightstand so the clockradio couldn't be plugged in. The covers looked like they were never washed. We came back at 9:00pm and they were still cleaning rooms, towels lined the hallway on the floor. There was an abandoned building next door, no security — doors were not locked or had a card entry. Building looked like it was falling apart. I would never stay there again or recommend this hotel. Pictures were not true to what it looked like. Oh and the smell ugh. I wouldn't trust Hotwire to recommend anything anymore.

Although our second room was clean, the first room was dirty and the AC didn't work, 500 in the morning neighbors took a shower and it sounded like a rocket engine going off, I can sleep through just about anything and it woke me up. Breakfast consisted of fighting Flys through the heat and watered down waffles. The price online says 50 dollars, I guess NM sales tax is very high because our bill ended up being 64 dollars. As the commercial says, should have picked motel 6.

Quality place. Low prices. Very kind staff. Clean an confortable. Must see.

It was just your typical budget hotel. Nothing special but it got the job done. Room was clean and inexpensive. Perfect for budget minded people.

This is a choice hotel and it is much better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed at. The rooms were clean so was the hotel. The staff was great and of course very cheap. Thanks you to the staff.

Came in about midnight. Lady was sleeping and wouldn't let us look at a room when we asked to see before paying. Wasn't very kind about the whole situation.

Awful! We stopped for a few hours of sleep on our road trip and nobody got any sleep! The pillows were flat, the beds were hard and loud, the room smelled like a gas station bathroom, the toilet ran ALL NIGHT LONG, and we found ticks in the room! When my husband complained at checkout, the desk lady didn't seem to really care. Will never stay in any econo lodge again.

Room location was perfect. Room was clean. Wi-Fi connection was great.

I checked reviews before stopping here and thought I'd give it a try. My mistake. The front desk lady was very kind and helpful but as soon as we got in to our room it smelled strongly of dog urine. I turned right back around and asked for another room. The attendant said "well it's a pet room so that's why it smells like that". I understand it's a pet room but there is no reason for it to smell so entirely awful. She switches our room with no fuss. We get in to our new room and it smells like straight up beer, which is much better than dog urine. There are stains everywhere, a beer can tab in the corner, and a space heater for the only heating unit… I don't know what else I expected for the price but I at least expected a halfway decent room.

We were heading to California on I-40 west. A snow storm came and and wrecked that plan. Shut down all major highways. So, we ended up being stuck, along with 300 other strandees, in Tucumcari, New Mexico We all thought it was going to be pretty gross. But very very clean. Smelled clean. No bed bugs! Glad to say that. Had a decent breakfast. Friendly and nice staff. Fridge and microwave, washer and dryer for you to use. Over all, if we ever happen back in Tucumcari, will stay here again.

The manager Rodger is a tool. The over customer service is poor.

It wasnt as bad as expected to be. Over all it was decently clean. They could do better with their sheets and comforters. I think that if they invest and get new sheets and comforters it would like nicer and not make you second guess if you want to sleep there or not. I give it a 2 start rating because I was tired and it was farely cheap and for only $5 more I can bring my dog inside.

This was much better than I expected. Clean room, lots of hot water, comfortable bed. They let us check in early around noon as motel6 told us no check in till 3. We will stay. Again.
