My husband and I were on vacation. It was late and we were tired so we booked a room at this Motel 6. The room was relatively small even with two full beds. The TV reception was poor, very snowy. The shower was so small I could hardly turn around and to make it worse it was dirty. The front desk offered to move us but when I went to check that room the tub was dirty as well. When checking out I mentioned it to the clerk and she said other customers had the same complaint. The excuse was there was some type of mat that use to be in the bottom of the shower.

The room was nice. No real concerns. I had a handicap room. The chair in the shower, wasn’t as secure as it should have been. Everything else was great. Thank you for letting me stay there.

This Motel 6 had me singing the song Better Days by Citizen King. This motel is busted. I am certain at one point this establishment has seen better days. I am going to try to condense this as best as possible. There is a lot of highway noise. Truckers constantly in and out of the immediate area. Perhaps resting because I can't imagine getting a room for 1-2 hours unless… well… never mind, but wouldn't think Motel 6 rents hourly. The bed was very lumpy. The TV quality was grainy and poor on every channel. The major pitfalls was the carpet and the door. The door DID NOT have a good seal. I had to push a table and my luggage against the door to muffle noise and keep critters out. Some critters did get in. I had difficulty sleeping because I was startled twice by bugs (one as I lay in bed and another ran by my foot as I was working on my laptop-both now deceased). I had trouble sleeping due to noise, lumpy bed and mostly the critter in the bed. I was paranoid about a critter getting in my ear canal while I slept. I placed toilet paper in my ear canals. That helped muffle the highway noise and eased my anxiety. I was ultimately able to fall asleep at approximately 0200 hours. On a positive note the air conditioner was superb, the morning coffee was hot and the front desk attendant was friendly. I give 2 stars for the positives, otherwise it would be one star.

Simple clean rooms. Good price. Friendly staff. Clean well lit bathroom. Clean comfortable bedding. Thumbs up.

Whenever I travel I make sure I don't stay in Amarillo or Albuquerque I push myself so I arrive in Tucumcari to spend the night. I've been staying at this hotel one or two nights over the last 6 years. I share on Facebook how much I enjoy Motel 6 in Tucumcari. And I recommend anybody passing through the area at the stop there not only for the motel service but also the dairy of Tucumcari Route 66

Friendly front desk clerk, clean room — although it smelled strongly of toilet bowl cleaner to me, convenient parking close to the room. I loved the rose bushes around the pool area! Grateful to find a nice hotel that is pet friendly.

The staff was extremely pleasant. The room was not very clean. The shower had brown marks all over it. The sink has brown scratches all over it. The floor in the bathroom was very dirty around the toilet and in front of the shower. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets. I love the fact that our fur babies are FREE.

They are "pet friendly" and they leave the light on. Motel 6 did not disappoint in this department. The carpet was stained but there was no odor in the room. The mattress was also VERY stained (ugh) but the sheets were clean and fresh. The box springs was worn at the corners. I pulled in late with dogs and wanted no hassle over the dogs. It worked.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The shower area had mold and mildew. I wouldn't use it. No air conditioning, I was handed a small table fan. The bed was awful and a spring was sticking out the side of the bed which you felt as you got up. The coffee the give you was water down. When I commented on it the desk clerk stated it where they order from? When I told her about the spring sticking out the side of the bed all she said was I'll let THEM KNOW? NOT EVEN A SORRY ABOUT THAT! I was so disgusted I cancelled my next Motel 6 in MO.

Shower stall and frame needed a good deep cleaning with bleach. Refrigerator and microwave worked fine for our needs. Bed linen clean. Bath towels white and soft. Nothing special, just regular chain motel.

I have stayed at many hotels and I always use a Black Light to check the cleanliness of the room and bed sheets. Most hotels are dirty, regardless of the price! This hotel, after checking with my Black Light, was spotless! I wish I could find a hotel like this in Albuquerque. The hotel was quiet, safe, clean and very, very cheap. Much better than expected!

Room smelled of old alcohol or even sewage like. I was too tired after driving all day to request a new one. Slept with the window open. I had requested an upstairs non-smoking. Perhaps a non-pet room also needs to be considered. Pets were noisy and might have contributed to the odor. The last time I was here (in October) the room I was given had flooded and the carpeting was completely drenched. While the staff gave me a new room, as with the smelly room, they did not seem to really care. The television had poor reception on a number of channels. Stay'd in a motel 6 in Santa Fe the next night and completely different feeling, with both the room and staff. Tucumcari is one of my favorite places on my drive out west when I am working and I usually stay here. I don't think I will be staying at the Motel 6 there again. Used to enjoy it but too many problems with the last two visits.

It was convenient because my girlfriend and I were on our way from California to Kansas and the location was right at were we needed to switch to the 54 and made it easy for us to get there. Check in was easy and very fast. Lady there was very helpful with directions to the nearest gas station.

Office lady was very pleasant. Gave me a ground floor room as requested. Motel was easy on/off I-40 with no traffic noise. Senior rate was affordable and check in was easy. Carpet could use some cleaning.

Staff was very friendly. Room was clean. Sink looked a bit rough. Room was very small. No fridge or any other appliances. Lights outside were so bright it was like daytime all night! Good to keep away would-be bandits, bad for sleeping. Overall, decent.

This is a very nice motel. Modern and clean. I would have given a 5 star except the air conditioning was not working. We had heat, but no air. It was quite stuffy in the room. Other than that, everything was great.

I had a hard time finding a place with good reviews within my budget. I was on a very long trip from the NW to the NE and was exhausted. I am a young female and I was alone. Checked the reviews and kept reading great things about "Mikey" at Motel 6. I crossed my fingers and called. Mikey answered! He was so nice and very professional. Took my reservation over the phone, greeted me when I arrived and made me feel safe while I was there. Also gave me directions to a store. The room is nothing special but sheets were clean, TV worked, towels were clean, good lock on the door.

I made our reservation over 1 week before the actual booking date. I asked for king size bed with handicap facilities. I got a queen bed and no handicap facilities. The staff was very nice and friendly but what was shown on the website was not accurate. Would stay again, but make. Sure they gave me what I need. My husband is using a walker and I use a cane. Room was not large enough for me to walk to get in bed. Wall and bed were too close.

The room was clean, and as we have always found with Motel 6, bug-free. This room had no hot water in the basin, although the shower had plenty of hot water. The basin itself could stand to be replaced; it has cracks, and no stopper. Be sure to ask for a senior discount if you are eligible. The personnel are very nice. When we turned the key in, they said they are under new ownership, and have renovations planned over the next few months. We will return here! ❤

The man I spoke to on the phone to book our stay was very nice, as was the girl who checked us in a the front desk. Our room was what we'd expect a Motel 6 room to be… slightly dirty and musty smelling, old carpet, some dirt on the walls, covered cracks in the ceiling etc. We only stay at Motel 6 for a few hours at a time during long road trips to sleep and shower, so if the price is low it's worth it to us to save money. We love that our dogs stay free! Our biggest complaint was that the "grassy" area in the back where we took our dogs to potty was COVERED in sticker weeds! Our poor pup ran over to potty and immediately froze. I was tugging on the leash trying to get him to keep walking until I realized that all 4 of his paws were completely full of thorns! Our other dog had some in her paws too, and my and my husbands shoes were also full of them. I wish I would have taken a picture, it was awful! The side yard by the pool had less thorns, just be careful!

Super friendly staff, clean room for great price! The only con… is the best wouldn't kick off when we turned it down all the way so it was a little too warm.

This was an excellent Motel 6. This is a really old Motel 6 that has been maintained in tip top shape. Kudos to the owners for keeping up their property. The room was spotless. The sheets, towels were snow white. I was really impressed with this place. Everyone I encountered at the property was friendly, courteous and nice. I really appreciate a clean nice budget accommodations, and this place fits the bill. Thank you so much for the great stay. I would recommend this motel to everyone!

Stopped for the night during a very long journey. Very nice staff. Even called my room to see if everything was to my liking. Now, I've stayed at MANY hotels (from expensive to cheap), never has a front desk employee called to check on me. Clean room, not a lot of toiletries but I wouldn't expect that for the price ($40). Which was another wonderful surprise. If I'm ever back this way (and I'm sure I will be) I WILL stay here again! Good job Motel 6 Tucumcari!

I stay at Motel 6 because I travel with my pets, and they are well accepted. When I arrived at Tucumcari NM Motel 6, I had driven all day and was tired. I wanted 2 things: a hot shower and a night's sleep. I got neither. The water was only tepid and at 1:00a. M. The low battery sensor for the smoke detector started beeping. I just packed up and left. Bad experience for me.

Staff member Devonne failed to inform us they have no heat in any of the second floor rooms so my infant and I woke up very cold at 5am. Even my dogs were shivering. The staff member was extremely rude to my husband when he called to inform them the heat was broken, she said there was nothing she could do. I have a cold so I felt too horrible to get up and leave at that hour. It was so cold I didn't want to get out from under the cheap and thin blankets. After the shift change the staff was very nice and informed us they have space heaters available, something the rude staff did not indicate. Also, the bed was horribly firm with broken springs poking through it and the linens held a ball of hair which presented a major choking hazard to my infant. The TV was dated and I was tired so I didn't even check to see if it worked. Rooms have no microwave, refrigerator, minimal power outlets, no hair dryer, iron or anything you normally expect from a hotel (like heat and air conditioning) it's just beds, towels and a shower. They didn't put out enough towels either. The carpet was filthy with sticky stains and who knows what, why does this motel 6 even have carpets when every other one I've been to has laminate floors. Overall I have spent much more comfortable nights camping in a tent and I will never stay or recommend this motel to anyone, not even my enemies.

The Motel 6 in Tucumcari was very good this visit. I stayed on the second floor because that's all that was available and normally I stay on the first floor. The second floor room was actually a cleaner and in better shape room. Although my dog just passed away a very short time ago the reason I generally stay at Motel 6 is because of the no hassle dog policy. The women at the front desk were very helpful and very courteous. The price was great, the bed was comfortable, and everything in the room worked properly. I was looking for a budget room and I was very happy with Motel 6.

Both of the ladies at the front desk (evening & next morning) were awesome. They were so friendly and helpful. The price was fantastic and the fact that I found a room at the precise moment I was getting sleepy was a blessing. The room was comfortable and clean. I’d definitely stay again on my way through.

This motel six was the best we've seen in 5 nights of travel. All the other motel sixes were smokey and no furniture and run by rude people. This one was friendly, clean, and went out of their way to accommodate us. Especially Sandra at the front desk.

Carpet dirty — especially under beds. Are they ever vacuumed? No cover on toilet seat. No place to sit while dressing in bathroom. TV channel indicators are not correct. Half of channels have such poor reception they could not be watched. I currently have a walking problem so I called and explained that because of this I wanted a room where I could park directly in front of the room. When I checked in the room was nothing like that. Thanks for the kind service!

This is a very well managed property as was clearly demonstrated by the very clean and obviously well maintained room. The staff was very friendly and certainly met all my expectations. Apparently the motel has been upgraded as the shower enclosure appeared fairly new.

This location is in need for some Serious Upgrading! I sit on the bed to remove my shoes and it was if I had fallen into a crater! A Big Sinkhole! Turned the Old Outdated TV on and there was No Volume Control! Went to the front office and complained about both problems. They agreed that there were issues at this location that needed to be addressed. Nothing could be done about the bed and No different room was offered! A maintenance worker grabbed a hand full of remotes but the problem was the TV. Needless to say, I had a Lousy stay!

This Motel 6 went above and beyond to accommodate the needs of my cats and I while driving across the United States. The person who checked me inside the hotel was fast and efficient. Motel 6 offers military discounts and no pet fees which makes this hotel a first choice when traveling. The Motel 6 itself was nice and clean. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable.

On a road trip with family and booked last minute. Worked out for our purpose, front desk staff very accommodating. Kids wanted swimming pool and I was looking for economical as we were getting up early to our next destination. Next exit with all other hotels has food/dinning options. We all slept well. Bring own food and drinks.

Perfect, no-frills hotel. Cheap, clean, safe. The shower had pressure and the bed was comfortable. Exactly what we needed for our two day stay. There were some weird little omissions to the experience that made the hotel seem dated: 1) You have to pay for Wi-Fi (who even does this anymore? ), 2) no in-room coffee or any kind of breakfast, and 3) no blow dryer (big deal for someone that packed super light. ) The pool is NOT heated so watch out! Lol. But those were the ONLY issues I had with our stay. Everything else was perfect. I will definitely stay there again.

A clean comfortable quiet pet friendly room. Gals at the counter were genuinely friendly and helpful. I slept feeling secure vs the big city hotels. Hot coffee and a local paper to send you on your way. A full days travel from Las Vegas, save this place in your map. They'll keep the light on for you… and your pets.

Was a stadard motel 6. Nothing fancy, no fridge. 2 bed, a desk with an outdated TV and a shower, no tub. No pet area that I could find. Ok place to stop and sleep.

Good place to stay. A few restaurants nearby. Clean rooms and quiet. Unfortunately, you have to pay for wiFi though.

Was very happy. No frills but clean & priced right. Staff were super friendly. I will use them again when I travel. I felt my business was appreciated & that seems to be rare any more.

A no frills place to rest and shower in the morning at a GREAT value. I LOVE this place. After driving all day it was so nice to relax in a nice clean warm room. It is somewhat secluded from the rest of the town, near the interstate off and on ramp with plenty of parking lot lights, very safe feeling. I felt, for the low price I paid, I received a great value. Had it been warm, I would have used the outside pool!

Usually a motel is a motel is a motel, unless you want to spend a ton of money. Motel 6 in general is usually a great value, so it's my first choice when I travel. All that said, my overnight stay in Tucumcari, New Mexico will always stand out. This is completely due to the efforts of your employee, Mikey. From the moment I walked into the lobby to register, he was the very definition of the word professional. But when he saw that the friend I was travelling with had a mobility disability, he absolutely outdid himself. He gave us the perfect room on the ground floor, central to everything. He found the one deliverable food source in the entire town. He helped us when the wireless didn't connect. He checked in with us after a few hours to make sure everything was ok, or if we needed anything further. If you look up the expression "employee of the year" in the dictionary, I'm sure you'll see Mikey's face smiling back at you. The motel itself was as good as any Motel 6 I've stayed in, but it's the customer service and the kindness of Mikey that will make me remember this stay for a long time to come.

Staff was pleasant and place was clean and neat. My room had no Microwave, refrigerator, or bath tub (shower only). Wife and I are both disabled and were placed on the 2nd floor and had to climb stairs to get to our room! I was VERY CLEAR when I made the reservation of this fact. The TV was only 19" at best and very hard to see from the bed. Wi-Fi is NOT free! I was charged $3 for it and it was totally unusable. When I brought it up upon checkout the next morning I was not even offered a refund. I would NOT recommend this Motel to anyone.

We selected this motel as it was on our route and pet friendly. While the staff was extremely helpful and courteous, this property is very old. The carpet is ancient, the beds are uncomfortable and the televisions old and did not work well. We would not stay there again.

Clean quiet room, good bed, friendly staff, hot coffee, great price. What's not to like.

We were greeted by a very sweet young lady. She was able to give us a very accommodating room for our needs. The room was comfortable and affordable. We had a problem connecting to the internet but that wasn't a huge issue since we really just needed to rest before continuing our trip. We were so pleased with our experience that we stopped at this same location on our return trip a week later. And the internet was fixed. I like that the check-out time is noon so if you check in late you don't feel quite so rushed. Thanks again.

This location had the best front desk person of any we've been to. The room we were in was clean. The beds comfortable. I love the pet friendliness and area they could go do their business was clean as well. This was the first good night sleep we had on our whole trip! A great check out time let us sleep in. It was off the interstate (I-40) just enough you didn't hear the traffic all night. It wasn't the time of year to swim so the pool was closed and we didn't use the vending machines so I can't tell you how this was. We'd definitely stay at this location again.
