You stole from a Mom with 2 small children on her way back from her Grandmothers funeral! She booked a room at another LaQuinta because she was falling asleep at the wheel on her very long journey home. She called and notified you. Your staff dropped the ball. This lady does not have the funds to be charged for 2 hotel rooms in two cities on the same night. You drained her funds needed for gas! shame on your greedy, pathetic corporation! stealing from a mom and her babies during a time of grief, loss and exhaustion from an immediate death in the family. when she called, your lazy staff should have made notation and refunded her. My goodness! the person who took her call at your location told her no problem, cancelled, and thanked her for choosing another laquinta location. My friend felt so relieved until she found out your corp had charged for both! then she had to worry about gas for the second long leg of her journey. Wow! how cruel can you be? you need to be investigated by the proper authorities and hospitality oversight for these shady practices!

Having the pet rooms on the same end of the building as the outside pet area. We had requested a main floor room due to our aged dog that has a hard time with stairs and is afraid of elevators when reservations were made. Ended up on the second floor. It was clean and a nice room.

The room smelled like weed so bad. It about knocked you down when you opened the room door.

This is hotel is great in that they accept pets. Very very noisy and the pets room smell of urine, really bad. Switched rooms 3x same problem in every room. Hotel staff, they were awesome.

The staff and the water pressure was nice. That’s it. We stayed on the second floor and as soon as the elevator doors opened, the smell of urine was really strong. The carpet in our room was “gummy”, not sure how to describe it otherwise. There was dog hair on the furniture and the urine smell was staggering. We were so exhausted so we just dealt with it and got out of there as soon as we could. Oh, and the only curtains that closed were the sheers, so the super bright light outside just shone in our room all night. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Everyone was really nice. Having actual cribs for the babies is amazing and helped us out so much! It’s clean, smoke-free and the Wi-Fi is great. The breakfast is amazing as well. Comfy beds and very nice staff :) even though it was only one night, I’d definitely recommend this place.

Pets don’t stay free in Tucumcari. They charge $10. The front desk told me the free pet policy has changed since Wyndham took over. I’m not so sure about that.

First of all we really appreciate any and all "pet friendly" businesses. This location was convenient, accommodating, and the was staff very friendly and helpful. So the critique: the room had the pet odor, so maybe fabreze? Why was the coffee maker set up in the bathroom? Bed was pretty stiff (note: I was good with it, not so much the wife lol). The wife encountered a spider and had to take care of business. On the bright side the breakfast was good?

The staff was nice and friendly. Everything was clean and comfortable. Easy in and easy out. No problems. They offer a breakfast till nine as well.

I was a bit nervous to stay here after reading some of the other reviews but my experience has been nothing but positive. I wasn’t traveling with a pet and my room was on the third floor where I didn’t see or hear a single pet. I was in room 302 which is a suite with a nice view of the mountain. The room was clean, quiet, spacious, and the bed perfectly comfortable. The breakfast is basic: yogurt, bananas, apples, waffle maker, cereal selection, eggs, sausage, pastries, bread and both decaf and regular coffee with a selection of coffee creams. I travel with my own cereal so they had everything I needed at breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever passing through. I live in Switzerland and love to stay in five star hotels but I didn’t feel like I was being punished by staying here… it’s a nice place! Really!

Curtains didn't close, so… Everyone can see in and the room is daylight at night from all the lights. Lots of dogs, like a lot. We had a dog too so it was fine but some people may not like that. Good place to walk the dogs. Breakfast was terrible. Other than that it was fine, good enough for a quick stop while on a road trip. Staff was friendly.

The worst La Quinta I have ever stayed in. This is the third room I’ve switched to and it reeks the least of the three but the pet urine smell is extremely pungent. This hotel desperately needs the carpets removed. They say they are going to, but please, if you are reading this and wish to stay in business, do it sooner rather than later. I have to hide in the bathroom to escape. We’d go somewhere else if we had an option. The bedding is very uncomfortable as well. Ironically it’s been the most expensive La Quinta room of our entire cross-country trip while also being the worst. (We’ve only stayed at La Quinta. The one by the airport in Wichita, KS btw is AWESOME! )

This place was really nice for its price point. The rooms were clean, the people were kind and accommodating, and it has an indoor pool and a spa which was fantastic, plus your standard free hotel breakfast. HOWEVER light sleepers beware. The walls here seems to be VERY thin. The room next to mine had children, and I heard every argument, whine, cry, and scream. I sympathize with their plight, kids are hard even in your own house, let alone in a new place without New Things exciting them, and while I know it wasn’t my neighbor’s fault I could hear them, I also had a 5 hour drive ahead of me and really needed some sleep. Tl;dr — this place is better for heavy sleepers because thin walls.

Clean with the usual friendly service. Wi-Fi was a bit weak. Two apparent channels, one didn't work at all and the other was slow during the evening. Worked well in the early morning. Bedding kinda "crisp" rather than soft.

It was a great stay! Rooms were clean and beds were nice. Breakfast was good.

Met our expectations for LaQuinta motels. Would stay again.

We drove in from Iowa and arrived too early — bleary eyed and exhausted. It was barely noon — after grabbing the kids some lunch at the Mc Donald’s across the street we came back and the young lady at the desk let us know that house keeping had our room ready early! I swam in the pool (warm pool — clean hot tub) for a few hours with the kids while my husband slept in the comfy clean room. They were doing some construction on the ground floor — but it was all cleaned up the next day — by the time we were up for the free breakfast. Kids loved the cereal selections and the coffee eggs and sausage I had were good. Several people in the hotel had pets — although we didn’t — their dog walk area was nice as well — and we couldn’t hear any barking at all! Thanks for a good first night of our vacation! I would recommend your hotel to anyone traveling to Tucumcari!

I don't do reviews unless a place is really great or really terrible and unfortunately this place was the latter. We were supposed to be in a room with a king bed and pull out queen sofa sleeper. The pull out was a full at best and do to the size of the people sharing it we really needed a queen and we ended up with one person sleeping on the floor which as it turns out was more comfortable than the pullout which was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on, including camping trips where I was on the forest floor in a sleeping bag. The climate control in the room didn't seem to function properly and we had to choose between sleeping in a wind tunnel or being cold. The tub drain didn't drain. The TV in the bedroom didn't work, although that didn't effect our stay much. We booked for extra guests in our room but they didn't stock the room accordingly as far as towels and soap. The warm breakfast is OK as long as you can eat meat, I unfortunately am allergic and was left with a variety of bread options, not even plain eggs were available. The heavy chemical fragrance in the halls wasn't quite enough to make me sick but it was enough to give me a headache. The pool room although nice was poorly designed with cold air vent directly above the hot tub and the hot tub itself had quite a few jets that didn't have any pressure. The staff was friendly which is really the only positive I have to say about this place.

This hotel saved our life! In 2015, the end of Feb, we were east bound heading toward Armarillo. We plan to get there by mid night. At 9PM, we got caught in the tail of a snow storm, which we were not prepared for at all (ToyotaCamry with summer tires and all). At 10PM, snowing had made the road zero visibility and for the first time, I was scared for the safety of my family (my wife and 2 dogs). We were forced to cut short and stop pushing forward. This was the first hotel we called and also "pet's friendly" and had availability. We were very grateful.

The hotel and room was clean and very nice appearance. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The rating reflects a not very comfortable bed or pillows and the nose level. You hear the people talking in the room next door (the weren't being unusually loud, just taking) and when they turned on their shower it was so loud in our room we had to turn up the TV so we could here it.

Expremly rude attendant. Was told he would not price match the internet. When the quote was from the laQuinta website. Also only a difference of $7.00 Wow. Then was told that the computers were updating and we couldn't have a room for two hours. Will never try this chain again.

Called in advance for a reservation and a crib. Was told not to worry by the girl who answered the phone. We wanted a suite with a separate room. Was told no problem. 45 minutes later we are there and its all problems. Told the front desk and she said she didn't know and just got there a short time ago. No crib. No separate room. Fold out bed wasnt made and I had to make it myself. For $150 a night I was extremely disappointed. Will not stay here again.

I was driving across the country and just pulled in for a couple hours sleep. Room was awsome bed was huge and comfortable bedding was clean did not want to get up. TV was a perfect size breakfast was included and was a good selection. Staff was very helpfull can't say enough of hoe impressive this hotel was.

Clean room, comfortable bed in a well appointed motel. BUT the new refrigerator, plugged in, did not work and whoever built this motel seemed to have used the cheapest insulation available as we could hear every cough and conversation in the room next to us. The friendly desk clerk said the Wi-Fi worked even though as I got the info, another customer said it wouldn't work for her. I tried my iPad in the room to no avail so had to use the public computer (nice that one was offered). Pricey for La Quinta at $127.55 a night… I expected not to have to need earplugs to sleep. Beautiful to look at but horrible insulation. Beware.

My second time staying at this hotel. Each time very professional personnel and does everything possible to make the stay comfortable for the customer. Also very clean rooms.

The bedding and towels here are old and disgusting. The sheets and mattess pads are very stained and torn. My bed had to be changed as soon as I checked in because there were dirty dog footprints on the sheets. That means they didn't change the bed between guests. Gross! The outside traffic is so loud it makes it difficult to sleep.

Need better pillows good otherwise great shower for handicap.

Everything was nice and clean, the staff provided excellent service and were courteous. They are also pet friendly!

I was here for business related trip for a week. Just your typical corporate style hotel. Was clean and quiet. Wifi was poor.

Very nice hotel, super nice and clean rooms, fantastic shower pressure, the staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. Here's why I didn't give five stars; the Wi-Fi was basically unusable. Even simply trying to connect to the access points world time-out before connecting. Even when I was lucky enough to get connected it was so slow and instable that it wouldn't even load the super simple Google search page.

Clean And great staff continental breakfast was lackluster but it always is. Loved that I could have my dog. Would stay again.

Very clean, very nice hotel. Felt very safe. The front attendant was great and very nice. Breakfast in the morning was satisfactory and there was more than ample parking. I recommend this hotel if you're driving from Texas out west, or back.

Got to the hotel and was put on the second floor which smelled like a dog kennel. The hotels web page invites you to enjoy the hot tub but went down to soak in that hot tub only to find it empty and not working. Pay a little extra and stay next door.

Extremely overpriced for the facilities provided. Sofa bed is poor quality, as is the extra blanket provided. Breakfast consists off scrambled eggs made from powder and processed meats, however they also include bread, muffins, waffles etc. Room had a strange smell to it but facilities were clean. Fitness centre has a reletively versitile cable machine and a treadmil, but no dumbbells. Again, while staying at the hotel isn't unpleasant, you'd hope to get more for your money.

Room smaller than thought. Hot tub did not work at all. Told that was that but when originally called was told it did.

This hotel has recently been updated and is pretty nice. My only complaint is that Tucumcari is a strange town with very bad food choices and things to do. Even going for a run was a challenge because so many dogs were loose.

The staff I spoke with were amazing and polite. The breakfast was good. The entire was place was clean and well designed. They have an indoor and heated pool as well as a hot tub that goes under utilized despite being great. Over all great facility.

Very unprofessional person at the front desk. Rooms over priced. Bought a room and then looked on line it was listed for 30$ cheaper. After I was told it was the best they could do.

Front desk staff was great. Hotel facilities were clean and comfortable. The walls were a little thin, could hear someone 2 or 3 rooms down. Otherwise, it was a great stay and will make my stay there when ever in the area.

La Quinta is definitely one of the best hotels in Tucumcari. The staff is always courteous and accommodating and the rooms are clean. I have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. This hotel is also one of the few in Tucumcari that allows pets.

The reception staff at this hotel are among the kindest and most compassionate people we have ever met. They made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to help us. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone stopping by.

The staff is great! Always friendly! Breakfast isn't bad, standard better than continental fare — scrambled eggs (or pre-made omelett), sausage, toast, waffles, yogurt, bagels, muffins, etc. Elevator ran slow. Internet was always iffy, luckily I had brought my hotspot. I do recommend you stay here.

It's not bad but not worth the high price. Any hotel upwards of $100 a night better have a fridge, microwave and a killer channel lineup and my room had none of those. I read a lot about noise but did not really notice it. The bed was comfortable and the free Wi-Fi was fast. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly but considering the lack of amenities I would value this place a $60 to $70 a night place.

I don't typically give reviews, especially bad reviews, but as I sit here listening to the cleaning staff slamming doors before 10am, I figure there's a first time for everything. We were pleased with the location and appearance of this Laquinta. It's very modern and looks recently built. Upon an early arrival, the front desk was pleasant and more than willing to do an early check in. The rooms are huge, the Wi-Fi open and reliable, the bed comfortable, the bathroom clean. The fire alarm went off last night and it's a good thing that neither the heating unit nor the TV were on or I doubt we'd have heard it. On our way out our door, a guy came by chuckling and said "ahh don't worry, it's a false alarm that happens 2-3 per week". Breakfast was absolutely horrible. We've been on the road for 8 days in almost that many hotels, and this was the only breakfast I had a hard time eating. On top of that, it is supposed to be from 6-9am but at 8:45 the attendant was already putting stuff away. Now the real reason for the bad rating: THE NOISE LEVEL IS AWFUL! THE WALLS ARE EXTREMELY THIN! I suppose if you're coming in late and leaving early, it's acceptable, but my husband is working nights and *attempting* to sleep into the day. Housekeeping was knocking on doors by 8:15am. By 9:30 they were blaring music, yelling down the halls, and slamming doors.

Very nice modern décor that seems like it was recently updated. Very pet-friendly with a nice place for your dog to "do it's business". They might consider cleaning up the area behind the hotel (we walked our dog there), but other than that, we were quite happy and impressed.

Staff were friendly and courteous. Room was clean. Very pet friendly. Breakfast was great and refreshed quickly. Bed is good but not the best for the price. Cheap toilet paper. Really at this price. That's a joke.

At first I was a bit leary about this hotel after reading the reviews but decided to stay here after the customer Service at Santa Rose La Quinta left us disappointed. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice up to date hotel with a friendly staff in a nice location. When we got to our room we had mixed feelings. We were provided room 220, which is located directly next to the elevator, more on that later. First impressions of the room were positive; clean, modern and welcoming. After we settled in we noticed no refrigerator or microwave, usually a common amenity, if you need this, turn away. The bathrooms were nice with granite and hardwood floors a big step up from a few LQ we had stayed at previously. Sadly every positive of this hotel pails in comparison to the negatives. We usually arrive relatively late from driving the previous day so didn't notice the sounds until the patrons were a bit more active. The rooms have amazing acoustic, something you actually do not want in a hotel, especially a pet hotel, this combined with the complete lack of insulation or door seals made the rooms un-sleepable come 7:00 a. M. The other guests were amazingly quite prior to this, I know this because my wife and I could hear every conversation after 7. The hotel only had about 12 guests based on cars in the lot which makes the amount of noise that much more impressive. If this hotel was filled I would be scared to witness the combined noise of 50+ rooms.

Very friendly staff. Nice, updated decor. The room was clean and cool. The walls were a little thin, so I could hear loud noises/voices or heavy footsteps in the hall or next door — not so much that it bothered me. Best part of the La Quinta hotels is the pet policy. Pet friendly with NO fees. Plenty of room outside for the dogs. The indoor pool was clean, the temperature just right. Free breakfast in the morning. During my cross country drive, I think this was my favorite hotel.
