Not for a Wedding… please stop telling people that your Banquet hall holds 180 people, that is a lie. Thank goodness there were 40 NO'S… I can go on about entrees but will stop here. But do have to mention that the Maitre de Brittany was on point and is fantastic… Your hotel conceirge, Giorgia and Wanda were absolutely fabulous; attentive, helpful, personable and always greeted with a smile.

It’s a beautiful cozy place. The metro de Britany was top notch amazing. Our event was beautiful and successful.

A really cute and historical hotel with a tavern and on site wedding venue.

Our suite was very nice with a courtyard view. Spacious, modern and clean. The front desk is friendly and helpful. The inn is not too large and the arrival area was a bit tight. They were hosting a wedding reception so the staff was very busy when we arrived. Still the help wasn’t wanting. The Tap Room had a limited menu but the food and drinks were quite good. You can feel the history in that room. Service was cordial and prompt. Located in Palmer Square a short walk to the university, shopping, restaurants and bars.

A great place to stay in Princeton.

Nassau Inn wound up being the perfect place for a night away from the realities of work and the current environment. Perfect blend of coziness, modern amenities and top notch service right in the middle of Princeton so we never needed to use our car. It was a chilly night so it was nice to be able to come downstairs to the pub for some tasty chicken pot pie and then check out all the cool memorabilia. Very attentive to keeping everything clean and sanitized during Covid so we felt safe. We’ll definitely be going back!

Nassau Inn Staff is just great. I talked to Shereen at the Head Desk for about 20 minutes. I will definitely return and spend the night. I talked in the Pub to people that were just so friendly. My experience is just wonderful U go. I highly recommend Nassau Inn to anyone staying in Princeton.

Picked up the Easter dinner for 8 this year and was blown away! Enough food for a small army, easy to re-heat, and absolutely delicious! From salad to cheesecake, everything was perfect!

My wife and I went for a wedding and it was fantastic. The hotel has character and being in the center of town really is convenient. The room we had was awesome! So good that my wife wants to buy the mattress we slept on. The staff at the hotel was great, very polite and professional. Check in process was fast & easy. We had great views of Palmer Square from a very large decorative picture window in our room. The wedding ceremony took place in one room, then we moved to a different floor and had 4 or 5 other rooms for dinner / dancing / lounging etc… the food was awesome, the desert was awesome and the drinks were great too. Would definitely recommend…

I had these guys in my bed when I turned down my sheets. They did move me to a suite, but there was no apology when I mentioned it to the front desk when checking out and no offer of a comp/credit on the prepaid room. This property is a bit tired.

We had our wedding at the Nassau recently and we can’t say enough good things about the experience. We worked with Toni during the planning and she was there all the way through to the reception. She was absolutely amazing to work with. Any questions I had over the months of planning were answered immediately, everything we wanted or asked for they were able to accommodate, and the entire staff was so friendly and awesome. The terrace made for a beautiful back drop for our ceremony and the Prince William Ballroom for our reception couldn’t have been more perfect. Aside from the lovely hotel and event space, the Yankee Doodle Tap Room was awesome for getting drinks and food, specifically the bartender John who was so fun and nice, and a fantastic bartender. The people at the front desk were great and accommodating as well. Jean-Claude at the bell desk was awesome as well by making sure all of our luggage and wedding items were taken care of without us having to stress about it. I just can’t say enough nice things. If you’re thinking of having a wedding or event at the Nassau Inn, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Toni, and the entire staff for making it such a magical experience!

Wonderful accommodations; and extremely helpful staff. My room was very comfortable. The food at our work event was excellent. The only negative was the Wi-Fi. I was able to connect, but had no service, so I was unable to call our or text. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful old hotel, in the center of Princeton. Very pretty and atmospheric, lots of restaurants, and shopping in historical town. Not sure about accommodations at hotel, did not stay theres, but delicious dinner!

A warm welcoming atmosphere with spaces to relax, places to chat, rooms for eating, rooms for dancing. All in the amazing town of Princeton.

You need fired this guy jean Claude in the port of the hotel, he pass his time to flirt the white woman and very impolite with another customers. Each time I was near of the main door He avoid eye contact and a direct service, like he is hiding something. Very weird attitude. I don’t accept disrespectful behavior when I pay for services.

In case you don't feel like reading my whole review, here's the quick version: housekeeping stole one of my medications and management hasn't done anything about it (though I bet they will coincidentally follow up as soon as this review goes live). Here is the long version. I stayed at the Nassau Inn for 5 nights. Ever since I was a child living in Princeton I had dreamed of staying here, so I was excited to finally have the opportunity. The outdated interior and utter lack of amenities didn't surprise me — It's sort of part of the charm of this old hotel. My room was extremely quiet and had a lovely view of Palmer Square. But that's where the positive ends. In my entire time staying there, no staff ever greeted me when I entered or exited the hotel. However, my surprise at the employees' lack of warmth paled in comparison to my complete shock when I returned to my room one day to find that one of my medications had been removed from my medicine bag. I searched the entire room and all my belongings thinking maybe housekeeping had moved it for some reason, but it was nowhere to be found. I told an employee about it at the front desk and they seemed mildly concerned, and told me a manager would contact me. They never did. As cute as the Nassau Inn is, I would give it a pass unless you are happy to rely on the safe that is located in each room's closet.

Beautiful setting for a wedding, we booked for New Years Eve! It's decorated like a scene from Dickens Village. Off the charts Charm rating.

Very nice beds and bathroom. The shower can be a bit confusing at first but isn't too difficult to figure out. The Wi-Fi works pretty well. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room, making the food situation a little difficult. It's important to not plan on having leftovers that need to be cold or reheated.

Drinks and food were good but our waiter was a complete space case. Easily 15 minutes between visits when he said he would "be right back" to take our order. Happened for food. Happened for drinks. Other waitstaff seemed more competent for what it's worth.

This town reminded me of my childhood town in which I was raised. It was a quaint but fancy hotel with beautiful designs and friendly staff. I liked the deep bathtub and fancy bathroom, and large TV in the room. I just wished that, for a place so nice, they had a microwave or fridge. They did have mini fridges and let us use one in our room (They brought it up to our floor. ), but they charged $15 a day for it! We used it for only 2 days the whole week we were there. They also charged us $18 for “parking, ” even though we didn’t even have/use a car! I have to call them about that. Still, I liked that it was close to the main downtown area with a variety of restaurants, shops, and the Princeton University!

Great location. Rooms vary… Suites are wonderful but smaller rooms aren't worth the price. Staff is excellent.

Pricey but well appointed. Centrally located in a quaint little twin with all the conveniences. Amenities are sparse.

Overall, the accommodations werr very good. However, I thought the service was a little lacking. The front staff was mostly made up of young individuals who seemed unwilling to help you, even if you were struggling with luggage and a small child. For me, the lack of service makes the hotel not worth the price.

This is my second visit. The first one was a few years ago. The room was cold and dry, and I could not adjust the heat to have warm air come out. So I just turned off the air, which was preferable to having cold air blowing on me all night. The quilt was practically paper thin, and not very warm. The front desk did offer to have somebody come by with a thicker quilt and have the engineer look at the heat, etc. But it was 3:30 in the morning by the time I got to sleep and I didn't really feel like sitting up and waiting for people to come by at that point. Why not just have a comfortable quilt on the bed to start with, like at every other hotel I've ever stayed at? Except for the bathroom, there was only one power outlet in the room, in the lamp by the desk. There was no power outlet by the bed, for my iPhone. The hotel front desk suggested there might be another outlet behind the bed somewhere, but I wasn't about to crawl around under the bed or try to move the bed to find it. Complementary Internet was 1.5 Mb per second. If you wanted higher speed Internet they wanted an extra $13.95 per night which strikes me as extraordinarily stingy of them considering that the room was $274 a night. I would have just forgone the Wi-Fi if there was decent cell reception in the room, but there wasn't. There was no mini fridge in the room to keep water cold. The room could've been cleaner. I found accumulated dust hanging on the walls in some corners.

This was astonishingly one of the filthiest rooms I have ever stayed in. In the three days that I stayed here, the bed linens were only replaced on the first night. The bedsheets, in fact, were threadbare and yellowed and smelled like dried-on sweat. I found bluish mold around the bathroom sink faucet and along the edges of the windows, and I hesitated even to use the coffee machine because it appeared not to have been washed in years. The numerous dusty artificial plants around the living room and dining table made me sneeze constantly. The worst part of my experience was having to run the shower at least 10 minutes early every morning to get a little bit of warm water. As for the front desk staff, nearly all of them were rude, arrogant and unhelpful. One of them talked down to me when I merely requested a bottle of water. I was also disturbed that they chatted nonstop with each other while checking guests in or out. For $250 a night, I expected a far cleaner room and polite, professional staff. I am never returning to this hotel when I visit Princeton again.

Came here for a family event. The food was amazing and the service was incredible. Highly recommend.

The Nassau Inn is in a great location for visiting the city of Princeton and Princeton University. It's a nice but old building with character. I would highly recommend staying here.

Historic location in Palmer Square Princeton NJ. Street and parking garages available. Eclectic mix of shops, stores, restaurants and things to do in the town center. Site for events large and small. Classic American decor and ambience. The Yankee Doodle Taproom located in the cellar/basement is a large but cozy area. Pub food with some entrees. Prices are consistent with other restaurants in town but a pricey for what you get. Basic selection of craft beers from the national and regional brewers. My burger was a mix of quality cuts of meat, could've been seasoned a bit more. The French Onion Soup was good. Service was fine, will return but not make it a destination trip.

Attended a party hosted at Nassau Inn and was very impressed. Food and service was excellent, and hotel itself is beautiful. Somewhat difficult to get to if you aren't used to navigating Princeton, however.

Great historic institution of the town of Princeton, feeling distinctly of a past era (though not quite far bygone). The accommodations are suitable but not delightful, the hotel itself is starting to feel old, and there are no modern amenities to speak of (no in room refrigerator, no workout room, very old style heating units, even the Wi-Fi is slow). Nassau Inn's strengths are its readily apparent homage to history, the diligent service by the staff, the Yankee Doodle Tap Room, and the strong water pressure. Above all else, however, the air of nostalgia may be the crowning glory and its greatest charm. Stay here because you want to feel a piece of Princeton's traditions and not because you expect a best-in-class luxurious stay. Bonus points for coffee & cookie service in the lobby.

I was there for a wedding and I was very pleased with the accommodations. The parking was easy to navigate and it looked like a great place to stay the night. I did not stay overnight but it was a high class place that was very close to everything in downtown Princeton. I had a great time at the wedding and enjoyed the location as well.

King bedroom was very clean and spacious. Both bedroom and bathroom had been recently renovated. The bathroom was much bigger than expected from such an old building.

My husband and I had the pleasure of a 2 night stay at the Inn and it was a great experience. The location is perfect… close to everything! Everyone was on point and even when we got back from a very long day of Black Friday shopping and the key wouldn't open our room… the front desk was quick to send an engineer to help. Turns out we were keeping the card in the slot too long… I guess we weren't thinking clearly after all the shopping lol. The room was very pretty but more importantly… the bed was soooo comfy and the room was very clean! The Inn has a lot of charm and the staff was very pleasant, I would definitely stay again and highly recommend as a place to stay in Princeton.

I ate thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant. It was a buffet dinner. The food was good, not great. The variety was limited. The waiter never offered soup which was included. Overall pleasant but not remarkable. Not a great value either at 50 a head with tip. Would not go again.

The staff was great, and everything was high class, but the amenities were really underwhelming for the price.
I understand that a dollar in Princeton doesn't go as far as a dollar elsewhere, but at $280+ a night, it would be nice if they had a half-decent workout room, blindes that completely cover the windows, and doors without a giant open slit underneath.

Very conveniently located! Room was quaint and clean. Wish that Wi-Fi wasn't a separate/extra charge. The staff was very polite and accommodating.

I went to the Inn for a wedding. It was beautiful. If you use a GPS to get there and are confused by the lack of parking, keep going straight into the parking garage across the street. The concierge will give you a card to use for overnight parking. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby, not so much in the rooms. Room was very nice, no complaints. Good shopping and eating within walking distance. Would stay again.

Went to a wedding reception held there, was very pleasant. The food was good and the atmosphere was quant and comfortable. The porch section during the cocktail hour was prime in the beautiful fall weather.

Story of why customer service is incredibly important. Because it only takes one bad experience to be shared with numerous folks. Please avoid the Nassau Inn. I'm sure many of you are laughing because how many of these poor reviews have you read? Perhaps unlike me you read these first? Unfortunately I didn't. Read on and then don't book. Yesterday I had two team members from work in town. One night, no car. I planned to have them stay at Nassau Inn for the fun of dinner in town and ability to walk around Princeton. I checked them in and the front desk told me I had 4 rooms booked. The first clerk, Kelly goes "yeah 20 minutes ago we were wondering if 4 rooms were a mistake… it seemed odd". I said "yes, only two guests, only two rooms and only two confirmation numbers (not 4). " Jessica, the front desk supervisor, said "well you prepaid and it's non-refundable so there is nothing we can do about it. " Literally. My jaw hit the floor.
Why would I book 4 rooms for 2 guests? My guests were astounded and I was embarrassed for their welcome to town. She was beyond rude. Wouldn't even try and offer a solution. This is the hospitable welcome to Princeton? Her best offer was "come back tomorrow (tomorrow? ) and talk to our manager but he likely won't do anything because that's our policy". She further went on to say we were at fault for booking 4 rooms. I worked in hospitality industry since I was 16 and stood in her shoes behind a front desk.

Eat there for breakfast about once a month and the food and service are great. Highly recommended. Nice historical place too.

Made a wrong choice of staying here. Pathatic service and bad room conditions. Would never recommend anyone. Think twice before making this hotel as choose.

The food was good. The beer was good. The service was slow. It was beautiful sitting outside on the patio. But we waited about 20 minutes before we even spoke to our server. Tables that were seated after us, 4 of them, received drinks before our server even stopped to get our drink order.

Absolutely disgusted with the Nassau Inn in Princeton, NJ. I started a room block with them for my wedding (5/27/17) because I was nervous that I would not have enough accommodations for my guests. Unlike NORMAL hotels, this hotel does not have a normal room block contract. Instead of the rooms going back to the general public after the cut-off date and being able to release your rooms, the Nassau Inn still holds you financially responsible for 80% of the rooms you blocked! Despite telling them that I did not need the rooms well in advance (almost 2 months), they would not let me out of the contract. They also were not forthcoming with how many of my wedding guests had booked at the hotel (how convenient for them). Long story short, they debited 7 THOUSAND dollars from my account without letting me know. (and before they could contractually take money out of my account to begin with). They claimed they would reimburse me for rooms booked by the general public, but again, conveniently for them, the amount of rooms blocked was not enough to give me even ONE CENT of my money back. As a human being, I am disgusted by this hotel and this company. I had ONE couple stay at the Nassau Inn over my wedding weekend. ONE! They basically stole 7 thousand dollars for me.

The Inn was veey comfortable and the staff very professional, nice and friendly. You cannot beat the location not to mention the ambiance of staying in a place with so much history. I highly recommend the Yankee Doodle Dandy. For food andThe Nassau Inn!

People in Princeton are not friendly.

Accommodations are not modern but not outdated. Food, social space are top notch. The Tap Room is spacious and surprisingly happening.

Bartenders were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was loud and some patrons were unruly and inconsiderate, but that's not the bar's fault. Great food and drinks!

Rooms were nice and bed were very comfortable. Staff was nice but I didn't interact with them much since I was just there overnight.

We hit the pub for lunch and a few drinks with a large group. We also wanted to see the TV. We were told we would not have service if we sat by the bar. That is crazy. There were very few customers at the time, and the staff was just standing around, but I had to go to the bar so we could serve ourselves. Crappy customer service. That said, Loren, the bartender did everything she could to make it work. We ended up not getting lunch there, opting for a few beers and apps. We went elsewhere for lunch. I don't see myself returning here.

We had an amazing time at the Nassau inn, there food was amazing and drinks were top notch. We are planning to go again next month.

Food is very good, portions are very generous. The Strong Ale I tried was delicious and poured well. Service was good, but not outstanding; our waitress was great at getting our requests taken care of, but a few times found ourselves looking or waiting for her. The only bad think is that there seemed to be a film floating at the top of one of our waters, which made it smell a bit like vulcanized rubber.

The bartender was very accommodating. The food was better than I expected. We were there for a luncheon in honor of my nephew who had just made his first communion. The staff was professional and more than happy to accommodate the needs of some of the folks in the group who had special dietary needs.

The food is great! Try the fig procuttio flatbread!

An older hotel that makes up for its dated amenities with its charm. The rooms are somewhat antiquated, but the utilities are definitely not. A somewhat uncomfortable bed, but an incredible shower. The common area is amazing. Venture across the street for food, however, as the tap room downstairs is boisterous with uncaring wait staff.

Be careful! the worst hotel I have been. Great location but its service is so bad. Its price is expensive but no free internet (you pay $10 per day, also more if you add more devices), no fridge, no microwave, no breakfast. If you are lucky, one day you may see a cockroach in bathroom. I still kept the picture of a cockroach in my cellphone to remember a bad hotel I ever been in my life. Note: you just get further a little bit from Palm square, for sure you can find great hotels out there with much lower price and everything you need for a high quality of life.

I don't know why this Inn gets as few stars as it gets; the main downside was that the rooms were not equipped for the 21st century, but the service and cleanliness were top-notch. Love the Yankee Doodle Tap room!

This hotel has no idea about that they belong to the service Industry. This means that they don't even know what's the meaning of customer service. Basically they think that customers are dependent on them and they are not on us.

They charged me for my room, which had already been paid for — now trying to get a refund. The room I stayed in (271) had not been properly cleaned in a very long time (filth and accumulated mess behind television). The only comment slip available in the room had already been filled out the previous month but not collected — it pointed out how bad the breakfasts are among other things. Despite the expensive room rates, you pay for any added extra — even the internet in your room. The worst hotel experience I can remember.

Absolutely the worst hotel in Princeton area, the hotel customer service and policy is not what I expected from this establishment. I tried to cancel my room on the day that I was supposed to stay and someone told me that my room will be canceled. I was then charged the full amount plus tax and could not be refunded. I called to have the charge reimbursed, one of the staff member Kyle who said “if I know who I talked with I can talk to them see what happen”. When do we all of a suddenly just charge someone's card for the full amount without haven even stayed. I heard of hotels charging a fee, I did not know that a hotel can charge you the full amount.

I've been coming to Princeton 3-4 times per year for the last 5 years. I finally took a chance, despite the poor reviews. I arrived to a very clean, updated room. Large television with very clear channels. Plush linens on a firm bed. Went to the Yankee Doodle Tap Room and got excellent service, a great meal (they even made something off-menu for me), and great brews. I got the room at a very affordable rate, especially when the other hotels in the are are nowhere near the campus (all 10 minute drive away).

I stayed at the Nassau Inn for a business conference early October. I did find the character of the hotel very nice, located in a nice area. I was offered some breakfast vouchers as part of the package (which I paid for). My wife had to cancel her plans for a family health emergency, which also caused me to leave early. I asked for a refund for the vouchers which cost me $56 — and was told their policy would not permit that, but I was welcome to keep them for next time. When I escalated to the manager, she simply repeated the rulebook. I can't believe they would take a fee approach for something that cost them nothing. They were more focussed on their rules, than a happy customer; I won't be back. Room Tip: Make sure you know the rules before you commit.

This is a beautiful hotel. There's a lot of history, considering its former tenants and Princeton. The staff is kind and extraordinarily polite. It's worth just stopping in to look, even if you don't plan on staying.
