This place is impressive to say the least. If you are tired of the same upscale menu and are ready for something new bold, classy, elegant, yet tasty then check out with awesome place! The chief Alex VanDike is a pleasant, highly educated in the culinary arts and very friendly, I think he is an up and coming maverick. The service was top notch, our waiter Chris was vey knowledgeable about the wines on the menu and helped us pair just right. It was a beautiful night and I’m so glad we chose to spend it at this magnificent restaurant. I’d rather keep it a secret but if you are this far into the review then go see it for your self, you will not regret it.

Gorgeous atmosphere. Wait was a bit long but to be expected at a nice restaurant. Food was delicious if smaller portions. I had gnocchi with a raspberry margarita, and sampled some of the filet mignon. All were fantastic.

This is NOT the same Peacock Inn we have enjoyed for years… very disappointed in service, food choices, and will not return. The server was nit knowledgeable. The prices were the same as in the past and the food was good but unremarkable… will not recommend the new ownership or go there again!

The peacock inn is one of my favorite restaurants in NJ. The quality of service, food and hospitality is second to none. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is opening again soon, bar open on weekends but staff won't mind pouring you something to drink themselves at anytime. The place is newly renovated in all rooms. Immaculate, friendly, beautiful mansion in a historically wealthy town… The stay is on the expensive side but it includes all amenities for you that one can ask for as well as things to do in the area as far as nightlife. Would definitely recommend nights to stay here.

Had a one night stay here the day after valentine's day. It was amazing. Two words… heated tiles. In the bathroom! Really quaint room but was overall impressed by the comfort of it all.

We stayed overnight and it was very romantic. The bar atmosphere was very nice. We happened to hit it at happy hour so the drinks were reasonable. Will go back again.

Great luxury inn. We went for New Year’s Eve and it was a GREAT experience service was amazing our glasses were never empty wait staff was well organized and very professional. The food was worth every penny and more! Just a warning pace yourself! The portions are great but my stomach is small so I need a break! The rooms are amazing beautiful shower and the heated floors really add to that luxury feel! You will not be dissapointed with your stay here! After dinner, before the ball dropped, the hostess gave us two flutes of champagne. Very thoughtful best service I’ve ever had!

Unfortunately, this was our very first experience with the peacock inn and I had made reservations for 8:30 earlier that week. We weren't seated until after 9:30 and our only consolation was prosecco… As we don't drink that often, very rarely, in fact, this was not enough to make our night better. In fact, it was my husband's birthday and instead of giving us a dessert for free for his birthday, we received more prosecco. As it was very late and I had to dive I didn't even touch mine. Again, I wish they had done more than offer cheap bubbly to make the night special. If we hadn't serendipitously run into a wonderful friend, we would have left. Now the food was absolutely epic. Best gnocchi I ever had, though the kale was a little bitter and I don't think it complimented the beautiful flavor of the gnocchi as well as other greens I know would. My husband got the bison steak, which is a tough meat, and, personally, for me, wasn't amazing, even rare. The food came out less than 10 minutes of our ordering, the service once we were seated was undeniably perfect, and the atmosphere was beautiful. It was a treat to see people really dressing up for a night out and made the atmosphere and evening even more special. It's a shame about what happened in the very beginning, because, I think, it would have been a perfect night if we didn't have to wait so long.

Great foodie spot. Service and food and presentation were all excellent. They offered a 5 course option but the entire party had to commit to it otherwise they offered an à la carte with 2 options per course for three courses which is what we did. I had hamachi, gnocci, and bison sirloin with pumpkin cake desert. Menu is for somewhat foodie type people. Nice little bar for pre-dinner cocktails. Would definitely recommend it.

We had dinner there last week. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced. We will never go back. The restaurant used to be very good but not anymore. What a shame.

We have stayed at the Peacock Inn many times. We keep coming back for the very comfortable accommodations, amazing food and every amenity I need or want. But even more than that is the hospitality. My family and I were here while our home in Florida was being devastated by Hurricane Irma. The Peacock Inn took us in in the middle of the night when we had to evacuate before our reservation and extended our stay for many days until it was safe to get back home. Their supreme generosity and the way everyone made us feel part of their family made an extremely stressful experience for us actually very pleasant. They never missed any opportunity to try to make our stay even better. We look forward to many more returns to this lovely place.

Upon arrival we noticed that there was limited parking. Checked in and there was no elevator to take us to our third floor room. Upon entering we noticed a sunken bathroom which proved to be highly dangerous for my husband and myself especially during the night… and I might add no nightlight in the bathroom. Also the tiles were very slippery and had to remove a wooden mat which added to the dangerous bathroom situation. Had to leave a light on all night for our safety. The walls were paper thin and could hear was going on in the next room. In the morning went down to breakfast but it was so shockingly sparse I had to ask the girl at the desk to replenish. I asked her if we were late and she said no. She apologized and hurried to replace some cereal and a little bit of lox. There was literally no coffee left and we were there at 9am. Another guest noticed the problem also and couldn't believe it either… it was a disaster. If there was a valet I never saw him or did he offer to park the car. Again parking lot very hard to maneuver. I have a handicap sticker and the space was dangerously close to a water pipe. The only good part was f the stay was the shower itself with all its spouts. The room was very expensive. Over $400 and the coup de grace was me forgetting my phone charger and then sending it to me and charging me $30 never telling me or asking if that was ok. No authorization. I could buy a new one for that. Never will stay here again.

Exceptional, exceptional service and fantastic food. Ideal for any special occasion. We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary and the menus were personalized with our event. Steve, the manager, made us feel like family. We'll definitely be going back. Well worth the price.

Spent a fantastic evening at the inn. Time on the front porch with drinks, then in to the dining room. Food and staff amazing. Even asked to speak to the chef so we could personally thank him. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Go spend a night, you wont be disappointed!

A most delectable menu of foods the executive chef is an amazing and humble person who truly loves his mission.
The downside is that it is all priced v high so one can only go there to celebrate special events. Too bad.

I enjoyed the tasting menu on new years eve with the grand wine pairing ($260 per person). It is a high price tag, but the food, service, and experience were well worth it.

We celebrated or first wedding anniversary. Nice fine dining place. We tried their pre frix brunch. Nice options. Good food. Do not try their hash browns. Potato pancakes and the omelet were awesome. The French Toast even better. Overall a really nice place.

Good hotel and it has a good feeling to it. The shower and bathroom are lovely and the towels are soft on the skin.

I love peacocks and I love this restaurant. So cute inside and the food is what sold me.

Excellent food and service ruined by noise plus the lack of a dress code. An expensive restaurant experience with great food and service was spoiled by some diners allowed in wearing shorts, tee shirts and/or flip flops. I'm not suggesting formal wear but smart casual should be enforced. My fault for not asking but we were not informed that service was included and I double tipped. They should have informed us or posted it clearly on the menu.

I live several blocks away from the restaurant in Princeton quite frankly I could not be happier having such a fantastic restaurant so close to home. The food is always fantastic and the staff is courteous. Very highly recommended.

One of best restaurants around.

My fiance and I came here with his family for a nice engagement dinner and I must say the chef at this restaurant is brillant! The Peacock Inn has the best food I have ever tasted in my life and we dine at some pretty amazing restaurants in NYC and DC. I truly felt like I was one of the food critics on Top Chef. The presentation of the plates were beautiful and everything we had just melted into your mouth. I have never had anything like it before. There are so many details and combinations of each plate that harmonize so beautifully together. I highly recommend the 5 course tasting with the wine pairing! The pastry chef there is also incredible! Best desserts I have ever had.

I love this place — my husband and I stayed there last night and I can't believe how gorgeous the decor — where in Princeton can you find heated bathroom floors and a rain shower! I loved the bar and hubby loved the flat screen!
