Beautiful room! Very clean and comfortable. The staff there is super attentive and very kind! I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Great cozy hotel in The French quarters. Friendly staff. We had a bigger room with a nice big bed. The bathroom was big enough and had a large shower cabin. Huge big screen TV with a lot of channels not that you need those when you are on the big easy.

This is an excellent location — far enough away from Bourbon Street to get away from the noise, but still close to the fun! The staff is courteous and the bed is comfy. This place has old world charm with newer amenities.

Great location if you want to be close to the action. The pool is the best part about this hotel. Overall it was moderately clean, I guess to be expected for an older hotel. Breakfast was just bagels, muffins, juice, and coffee. The staff was always great, friendly, and helpful though!

Hotel one block from Burbon! You can't hear the nightlife if your back to your room which is a huge bonus. You definitely paying for location. The drain in our tub was terrible, it didn't drain at all. You ended up showering in 3 inches of dirty water. The bar was awesome considering the main bar is being renovated. Olga and Jennifer did a phenomenal job. Jennifer experienced an under age patron asking for a drink while their parent said to put it on their tab. Jennifer did not serve him and another patron in the bar made a comment and the underage patrons father thru a fit and left. Jennifer did her job and did not serve the underage kid. All in all a great hotel, wish they would fix the tubs and AC — location was outstanding!

The staff was awesome! The room was great. I did not use the pool but it was pretty. My words won't do it justice. If you want a nice hotel around the corner from all the action, this is it!

We had a nice little room to stay in that was very clean. The beds were comfortable. I liked that this place was very close to Bourbon St because that was where we were all hanging out that day. My friends told me that this place was haunted after we had already stayed the night, but I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary the entire visit. The only thing I thought was different is that the elevators have a wood interior and that reminded me of a coffin. But to the point it is a nice place to stay.

My wife, 4yr old daughter and I stayed this weekend. Everyone of the staff was super friendly and helpful. This is a very old hotel with plenty of charm and the location can't be beat. The room was prefect and just what we expected from a historic hotel. We will definitely be staying here again.

Rooms are a bit on the filthy side. Carpets and bathroom floor are discussing. Wiped our bathroom floor with a towel after the maid was in and it was black. The hotel itself is quite charming and very close to all the action. The staff are not overly friendly but we found that with a lot of employees when we were out and about. The breakfast is not really breakfast, stale bagels and horrible coffee, the creamers were bad almost every day. The bed was comfy. Overall this hotel is what I expected one block from Bourbon… beat up and run down.

Adequate room a block off of Bourbon Street. The room had a street facing balcony but it was pretty small. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly but the parking accommodations were ok. They have an on site garage with mandatory valet and a pretty small entry way so it can get really hectic around check in and check out times. Overall it was a decent hotel.

I chose this hotel because of the rumors I heard about it being haunted just for the fun of it but it turned out to be a really great choice. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. We had our own balcony which we thought was very cool. The biggest plus for us was the location. It’s an easy walking distance from Bourbon St but still far enough away that we didn’t have any issues with noise. We weren’t too interested in the pool but it looked nice. My only complaint is that I hate it when hotels charge for parking. I think that it should already be included in the price. As for the ghosts we didn’t see any but maybe next time.

Good location for walking around the French Quarter. Very friendly staff, including the valet. However, the "premium balcony" room was communal with a pitiful lock keeping anyone out. For our second night we moved to a more modern hotel on the opposite side of Canal Street. It's cheaper, more comfortable, cleaner, and has many more accommodations. Also, May Bailey's was 80% why we booked; however, it wasn't until our "too late to cancel" confirmation email that we were told it is being renovated. According to other reviews, it has been under construction for months. Slightly ridiculous. Especially since it is not mentioned anywhere on either the hotel website or May Bailey's page. TLDR; Decent location, great staff, rooms leave much to be desired.

The staff was super friendly and sweet. It is an older hotel so of course it's not going to be super up to date. The TVs can be updated but the room itself was comfy! The shower was a little weird on how to get it running but was a great shower. Great place.

This hotel is very conveniently near the French Quarter and the staff is excellent. Front office and parking are awesome. Rooms are okay, but our bed had a very worn out memory foam matress that was hard and lumpy. We have had good memory foam beds at home for 10 years so we know what they are supposed to feel like. This was not it will.

Just step here to visit a friend. But the lobby was nice and the workers friendly.

Check in was smooth. Receptionists are exceptional! Room is traditional and not overly large as is expected for a historic venue. It is close to Bourbon Street and is in the historic French quarter. I would give it 5 stars except for one not-so-small problem. I have an issue with the smell as I enter the room each time. It's hard to describe but is unpleasant. I suggest that if the carpets were cleaned the smell will disappear.

We stayed here for our wedding, and it was the perfect setting. I love the courtyard pool and the quaint bar attached. Our room was enormous, and we had a balcony overlooking the street, which was nice spot to sit and sip wine in the evenings. The only reason for not giving a 5 star rating is because the carpet felt dirty and smelled a little, and the old windows had gaps that let the air conditioning escape so it was difficult to keep the room cool. I would still recommend this beautiful hotel and revisit in the future! :)

Good location, because as much as you may want to be on Bourbon Street to sleep you benefit from being a few blocks off it and enjoy a little quiet time away from it all. The Holiday Inn down a few blocks from it is very nice as well. Both are good choices to book.

Bring earplugs to sleep in. Room 209 is a gigantic king suite and room 212 is a double, we had both rooms. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff. Great location for walking in the quarter. But… these two rooms have a service elevator or something in between them. The staff use the elevator between 7 am and 10 pm. Also French quarter street noise echoes in the alley, there is always some construction going on somewhere. Since we travel, we carry extra earplugs in our luggage for noise so it didn't bother us. Breakfast in the annex was very disappointing at the best, the hotel management could put a little more effort into it. Packaged sweet rolls and bagels only. Coffee, milk, orange juice. It would have been fine if they added whole fruit, yogurt, packaged cereal, instant oatmeal etc.

I am enjoying my stay in this quaint hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. We have one with a balcony. It's conveniently located a block off Bourbon — close enough to join the party yet much quieter than the hotels on Bourbon. The breakfast and parking rates are the two drawbacks or else I would have given it 5. But there is a 24hr eatery and bar (below 21 not allowed) right across and a reasonably priced parking a couple of blocks away on N. Rampart/Conti/Bienville.

Quite a bit changed from the time we made our reservation, and we weren't made aware until we received an email 3 days prior to our stay. The email even welcomed us to the things we specifically booked this hotel for, May Baily's and the free continental breakfast (we have 2 teenagers). It wasn't until we got to the very bottom of the email that they disclosed both May Baily's and the continental breakfast wouldn't be happening. The website also advertises that you get the best and lowest rate when you book early, and directly through the hotel. After receiving the email, I checked rates to see if they were lower due to the changes. When I saw the rates were $200+ less than what we booked for. They even had a papa Noel package with parking included that was still less than what we booked for, so I called. I was informed that it's like airfare, prices change and they can't honor the lower rate. I asked why they advertise offering the lowest price when you book early, and asked why we hadn't been informed sooner about the changes. They refused to do anything about either, so I asked for a manager to call me. The manager called and offered a slightly lower price, but said with parking, it wouldn't make a difference and we'd still end up owing an additional $50+. When I asked why they couldn't honor the book early and get the lowest price offer, she said they weren't anticipating the price going down with Christmas and a Saints home playoff game.

A great hotel! The rooms were spotless and the staff was very friendly. I was sorry May Bailey's was closed for renovations, but the annex was nice. I will definitely return.

GREAT LOCATION! Everything in the French Quarter is in walking distance. They could do a little more to step up their cleaning and maintenance. Our bathroom floor was dirty, and there was a floor trim board that was sort of disintegrating. But having breakfast everyday was awesome. They had a great selection of items that alternated daily to give you some variety. One area they could improve their breakfast is the tea selection. The only had one very generic Black tea option, but plenty of herbal teas, so if they beef that up it would keep the English, and tea drinkers like me, happier. But, staying at the Herman House was fun, just across the street from the main building and it had a really cute little courtyard. They offer plenty of towels and water in the room each day.

The hotel is very haunted! There was a knocking on our door constantly but when we opened it no one was there. Great hotel with a long history. We enjoyed our stay! Front desk people are very friendly and the Kitchen staff are very nice and friendly too. The salt water pool was very refreshing after a long day walking around bourbon street and all over the french quarter. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is because my friends car got scrapped from the front all the way to the back and not an oops I bumped it like Gouges out of the side of the car. Apparently someone parked it too close to the post when we first checked in. Not the attendants fault who went to retrieve the car. The hotel manager personally apologized and reached out to us. They were very helpfully and we will be staying here again when we visit next year.

The front desk staff were great and the location was good walking distance from everything hoppin but that's where it stopped. Our first room, the luxury room We splurged on, the shower didn't work and the window to one of our balconies were out of the frame with tissue paper stuffed in to compensate the difference! We were offered a 25% discount for the two nights we couldn't shower before they could move us — they couldn't fix the shower as the part was back ordered and the hotel was over booked. Our second room was considerably smaller… and the toilet leaked into a puddle on the floor. Save your money and time and invest it in another hotel around the area with better accommodations and haunts.

We were very disappointed with this hotel. The first room we had was dark, a wall in front of the window and especially a musty smell. In short, nothing that corresponded to a hotel whose rooms adjacent the €200. Anyway, we asked to change. The staff, on this very helpful, was able to find us another. A little brighter, more charming and especially without that smell. But where we were most disappointed is for breakfast, some muffins and cereal bars, coffee and frozen orange juice. Euuuuhhh, I've never seen a breakfast so sketchy. Anyway, it's a mouth. We ate better in roadside motels than at this one. An absolute shame! Don't Go.

The location is excellent, however the hotel is old and not as well maintained as depicted in the photos. The room was relatively clean, but the carpet is quite musty and outdated. The furnishings are sparse and old. The beds are double size and not queens, so sleeping two can be tight. This is really a hotel that happens to be in a great location. It's not as nice as the pictures depict. The staff was courteous and helpful. It's an okay hotel, with a great location. Personally I'd prefer some of the other boutique hotels in the area for the price.

Stayed here for our vacation/wedding. Arrived a day early, and our room want available so we ended up staying in the main building for the first night. The room wasn't bad, but wasn't good. When booking, you must get the "Herman House". Soo much better on the other side in the nicer rooms! Staff was great, beds made everyday with fresh toiletries. Overall a very good experience!

Room was a bit dirty when we arrived. It seemed as if it had sat unoccupied for awhile. The staff was great. The room was alright. It was a bit dated. It is a historic Building, so it can be a bit harder to balance updates and preservation. That said, some bits could have been easily updated, such as the mattress and maybe the lamps (perhaps some that have the same aesthetic but some usb ports or outlet plugs). Lastly breakfast was not quite what I was expecting, however it is free, so you can't really complain. Overall not a bad experience, but not sure if I would stay again.

I've been staying here over the years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are a good size. Love the small refrigerator in the room. Will return.

The room was a updated, and the bed was super comfy. Great location within walking distance of great restaurants. The pool was a refreshing respite. We were only disappointed that the hotel bar May Bailey's was closed for half of our stay, but we weren't notified when we booked our reservation.

Average hotel in the French Quarter. Hotel has all the components (location, pool, bar, parking) to be great but overall was average. Room was clean. Shower barely drained. Balcony did not have any chairs to enjoy it. Continental breakfast was your basic fare.

It is a good place to stay if you don't care too much about details and luxury. It could be much better. Facilities are good but not clean enough. On the other hand, the service is excellent… Great breakfast.

The hotel has a lot of character. The rooms are a good size and the beds are incredibly comfortable. We stayed one night in a "haunted room" when our room wasn't ready. No ghosts but great service! It's in a fantastic location. Everyone at the front desk has been wonderful and made our stay great!

This hotel seemed really charming on the website and when I spoke to someone in the reservation office she really made it sound great. What a disappointment. The hotel just looks old. In our room, the shower head was rusty and there was black on the ceiling where air blows out of the vent which means they do not have their vents cleaned. It is $36 a day (on top of what you pay to stay here) to park your car, and the pool and its surrounding area are so small that unless you reserve a seat first thing in the morning, you are out of luck. I was so disappointed and wish that we had chosen the Roosevelt or Monteleone instead.

My roommate recommended this hotel, and I would recommend it as well. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. And they accommodated my request for the top floor. The room I got was very clean. The only issue was that the water pressure in the shower was low. But it wasn't an inconvenience. The hotel is located in the French Quarter one block away from Bourbon Street. Despite all the craziness that ensues on that street, it's pretty quiet on Dauphine Street. The hotel has a small pool and seating area around it. They also serve tea and ginger cookies in the afternoon. The deluxe continental breakfast is worth it if your day is busy and don't have time to eat elsewhere. Otherwise, if you're taking it easy, then I think it's best to explore other places to have breakfast. I got the Food package, which included a 3 night stay along with plenty of vouchers for restaurants in the area. I suggest looking at their deals to see which one fits you. All in all, I really liked my stay here and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in NOLA.

Nice hotel, room wasn't ready when we got here but other than that pretty nice, quaint little rooms. I would stay here again.

So I just checked in and while we were waiting for our room we overheard a guest complaining of being overcharged on their room. I blew it off as you can't please everyone. We are staying 2 nights and it asked about cost for saturday night and was quoted $385. Same as we are paying for Friday night. I said ok the wife and I will talk about it and let you know. In the meantime we went to our room and checked the website ourselves. We found the same room on their website for a $100 less a night. One hundred less on Friday night that I am already booked for and $100 less than she quoted me for the additional night. I went back to the front desk expecting to get an adjustment and was no. You have a 72 hour cancellation period and there is nothing we can do for you. Therefore I am not staying here Saturday night and will not be staying here again. As far as the hotel, it is ok, nothing special and certainly not as nice as others we have stayed at. I would recommend the Le Marais as an better alternative.

First, When going through the tight streets of New Orleans it was pleasant to pull into their garage and be able to unpack our car at our lesure while checking in. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was huge and very cool when we got there. It was 94 degrees outside and comfortable in the room. The hotel had some old world charm but felt modern in a lot of ways. I love how close It was to the French quarter and we didn't hear any of the noise from bourbon street even though it was a block away. The pool was small but good for a quick dip or just to hang out. Problems, just a few. First our TV got sound but no picture. It was late and didn't want to be bothered by the staff so we didn't make a fuss. In the morning we were told that you had to hit two buttons at once to get the picture to work. It would of been nice knowing that about 10 hours earlier. Second. Do not get a room near the elevator they put your vehicles on. There is two story parking there and the vehicle elevator is loud. We were a few rooms away and still felt the noise and vibration from it. Don't count on your room having a view either unless you ask for one. Keep in mind the buildings in that area are old and very close together. We would stay there again for sure. Now that I know how the TV works. Lol.

Will be here again at the end of August, 2014. This will be my 5th time staying at Dauphine Orleans. From the nice people at check in, to the free cocktail at May Bailey's bar, to the comfortable beds and continental breakfast, to the refreshing swimming pool, how can you go wrong. Oh, don't forget, that when you go swimming look for the little Iced Tea/Water, Cookie stand. Just a snack at the pool. Can't wait to get back to Dauphine Orleans. Always a part of my New Orleans experience.

Elegant, classy and inviting! First, the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a larger room (or should I say suite) for just an additional $20 and it was so worth it! The room we stayed in looked like something out of Home and Garden, a secluded little courtyard just feet away from adventure in the quarter! I'm in and out of hotels throughout the year and I must say, that this was one of the most pampered hotel stays I've had in a while! A+.

My wife and I just got back from a five night stay at this hotel. We both enjoyed it enormously. The best thing is the location on Dauphine Street just one block from Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter. You can easily walk to a lot of really fine restaurants. We never got into an automobile except to travel from and to the airport. We either walked or took the trolley. The staff was always polite and helpful. The continental breakfast was more than adequate and the bar was a fine place. You can get a drink at the bar and drink it in one of the lounges around the pool. It is a very pleasant place to have a drink and relax in the afternoon. The Tempurpedic mattresses are fine for sleeping. We slept better than we do at home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thank you so much to the staff that made my wedding day as special as it was. It turned out to be more than I could have hoped for and was the wedding I had always wanted to have. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The servers in the continental breakfast room were so pleasant. I grew up in the New Orleans area but had never stayed in the French Quarter as a tourist. So much fun! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
