Very impressed with Lafayette Hotel! Great rooms (ours had a nice balcony) and friendly staff.

Great service and location.

A lovely hotel on a fairly quiet street but not far to walk to Canal Street and the busy parts of town.

This hotel is disgusting. 4 star maybe 20+ years ago. Upon arrival my first night, the bellhop/valet outside couldn’t be bothered to look up from his phone to help me or open the door. Once I struggled with my bags and the door, he asked, “you got that? ” And I entered my giving the door another hard tug. Inside is smelly, dated and not clean. Staircase looked elegant decades ago. Very rough. The woman at the front desk left much to be desired. Amye was her name. She was on the phone — either a guest or a personal call — but she wasn’t speaking, just listening. Didn’t look up for several minutes to even whisper she’d be right with me or offer to put a call on hold to assist the person in front of her. She kept listening and finally hung up. Monotone and unwelcome tone. Got me my room key and I went upstairs. Elevator was dirty and nothing of polish for a 4 star hotel. Room is 100 times worse. I didn’t even want to take my shoes off. Found long hair on the bathroom floor and in my “clean” bed. Dark dingy lighting, dark room paint, dust covering every fixture and furnishing. All furniture is incredibly dated and worn, scratched. Honesty reminded me of a hotel from the snuff film movie Vacancy. All air vents covered in filth and dust. Toilet is disgusting. Shower head is covered in hard water and grime, grout is nasty. Drain is nasty. Grout is nasty. Shower curtain was half hanging and stained BROWN.

I’ve stayed here multiple times and will be staying again at the end of December. The staff is always very friendly. The hotel bar is amazing with amazing bartenders. The steakhouse inside the hotel is a MUST! The best steak I’ve ever had. The rooms are big. The beds are comfortable. Cannot wait to visit again.

Stayed in a suite May 23rd and it was wonderful and close to French Quarter. The rooms are spacious and beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. The cost is reasonable. Review state they need to upgrade their bathrooms, true just a few upgrades but people probably need to upgrade their own bathroom. I recommend. Read the cancellation policy so you want be disappointed. We are coming back.

My girlfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it, from the charm to the staff. We had a great experience, especially because of Jhonetta and Tim. They helped us with places to go, things to see and the best way to get there. They were extremely welcoming. Tim addressed us as Mr and Miss every time we walk-in or were leaving the hotel. Hotel is in a great location, the street car pickup is across the street which was very convenient. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, felt safe and had a good night sleep. Tim is awesome. Really took care of four crazy ladies.

Lafayette Hotel is a jewel in the Art District. Price: very reasonable; Atmosphere: very upscale; amenities: full bar and class steakhouse (I haven't had a chance to try either, but they look great; staff: courteous; rooms: elegant. Frankly, I don't know how they do it for the price, but this is my favorite NOLA hotel.

Beautiful yet dated building with a lot of personality. Please don't visit expecting state-of-the-art amenities; this is not that type of experience. The building is gorgeous and the deluxe rooms are very large. There are no refrigerators or ice machines, so shop before you come. This hotel is just blocks from the French Quarters, which was awesome. I enjoyed my stay.

Ate at Desi Vega's. Quite possibly the best steak I've ever had, and at 63, I've had quite a few. From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was excellent. The service and the drinks were top notch, as well.

We loved our stay here! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are cozy and a great place to unwind after a day of walking the city. The hotel is very welcoming of pets and your dogs can be walked next door at Lafayette Square.

Beautiful hotel right outside the quarter on a quiet street and extremely reasonably priced ($92 for Sunday night) when we went mid July. Staff was excellent and rooms were clean and modernized. Conveniently close to the quarter and St. Charles trolley. Only disappointment was bar and restaurant were closed for remodeling. Will definitely go back.

The room was very comfortable and had a great view of Lafayette Square. A bit noisy until about 1AM but nothing you can do about people on the streets or the trolley going by. Friendly staff, would stay here again.

Great staff and comfortable bed but no amenities. No free parking, no microwave or fridge. Location is great, but I wouldn't do it again.

We absolutely loved our stay! It was within walking distance to everything without being right in the middle of all the noise while trying to sleep. The staff was awesome! Mrs. Amye at the front desk helped us book tours and was able to answer any questions we had. Mr. Mitch was super helpful when it came to anything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

This is our second year staying at the Lafayette for Jazz Fest. Comfortable, clean, great neighborhood with lovely restaurants, Rouse's grocery store and a great coffee shop nearby. Within walking distance of the French Quarter and the buses to jazz fest. The staff was great — Mitch was helpful with directions, cabs, any information we needed! Great find!

Very nice huh otel located just outside the French Quarter next to Lafayette Square. Very nice rooms adequately appointed. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The employees were very nice and thoughtful. I happened to mention this was my 50th birthday road trip and they sent champaign to our room. Theo and Mitch went above and beyond to help us. The rooms were very nice and CLEAN! Our only complaint was there isn’t a refrigerator in the room.

We loved our stay at The Lafayette Hotel. The staff was always smiling, friendly, and helpful. The location was great for our needs in the city. The only thing I would subtract a for is that the bathroom floor is very, and I mean VERY slippery. Any amount of condensation in the room causes lots of sliding around. To compensate, we used extra towels for traction and had to ask for more for us to dry off with. Other than that, the stay was great!

Stayed there September with my family. Everyone loved the experience. Clean rooms, sheets and we had a wonderful experience with the staff. Bar is cool and they have bartenders working there not college kids who don't know how to mix a drink. I am coming back this October and am very much looking forward to it.

Great historical building, has been renovated recently. Great location off French Quarter, which made for a quiet stay. Warning, if you book through third party, such as Expedia you will be down graded at check-in. This happened to us with 2 rooms. Watch your bill at checkout.

Just an adorable boutique hotel! In a fantastic location and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Super charming and really gave that NOLA vibe. Highly recommend!

Not overpriced, fit all basic needs, and is centrally located. No complaints here. We were able to walk anywhere in the quarter and to the Superdome for dem Saints! A nice 20 min walk to Frenchmen St. If you haven't been, you are missing out on a gold mine!

Had dinner at the hotel restaurant, been there many times over the past year… stellar wait staff and the food is exquisite. I highly recommend it.

Great people here, including a manager who helped me sort out issues associated with a delayed flight. Other staff were friendly as well. It's a great price point for the location. The only thing is some rooms are close to the train so be aware of that if you're a light sleeper. The decor is also a bit dated, but that didn't bother me. It was clean and tidy.

These guys were absolutely amazing! They made our weekend perfect. When they found out it was my boyfriends birthday we were upgraded to the penthouse suite and they brought us up a bottle of champagne! We got engaged in this room and I'm sure it will always hold special memories for us. We have never been treated so well and it was very convenient to the French Quarter!

Very comfortable stay. Hotel is placed within walking distance from the French Quarter. The room was very large and comfortable. Friendly staff. Parking on Sundays is free in the business district in which the hotel is placed, which made our stay even cheaper and convenient. We didn't try the hotel bar or restaurant but both looked inviting.

This place is a dream! Mrs. Dianne was delightful, informative and just as kind as she could be. The room was large and so nice. We were there for our "belated honeymoon" (9 years, and finally got around to it), and wanted to see as much as we could of New Orleans. I loved that the streetcars ran so close (we never heard them at night), and the neighborhood was very safe feeling. All the staff we met were just wonderful. I highly recommend it!

The hotel is great. The staff is very friendly; we had a great experience with a young lady named India, the main hotel host. She was so sweet and welcoming; definitely a great feeling to re enter the city! She answered all our questions; great experience so far!

Loved the place and the people. Perfect location. We vacationed a few years back. I dont have one single bad thing to say about the hotel. It was perfect for us. Loved the big spacious room, like a small apartment. The bed was very comfortable, I have a bad back and I slept wonderfully and woke up without pain. My biggest complaint is that we didn't stay longer :)

What a fantastic stay! Stayed here first in 1985 and just returned again. The room was HUGE and super clean, wonderful comfy bed, living area and bedroom for a bargain price. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the staff, everyone was incredible. This is an older hotel with beautiful crown molding and architecture, it is NOT your high tech corporate hotel which is why I loved it. Close to everything and very convenient. I am recommending this hotel to all my friends and they too love it. Will definitely return sooner this time :).

Beautiful room, very nice staff and a good distance to all the attractions. This was a great stay and I would do it again! My only complaint: don't pay the extra $5 for the Wi-Fi. Their signal is too weak to connect. So even after paying for it, I couldn't use it. This didn't really matter though. Still an awesome place.

After a reservation problem at another hotel. I was able to book at The Lafayette Hotel. The room was clean and spacious, staff was friendly and welcoming. Had a few minor issues with the room but nothing I couldn't get past. Would definitely stay again while in New Orleans. Im mean Nawlins.

Great Place Great Location. Very nice spacious rooms. My wife and I felt well treated. Valet parking additional $28/day multiple in and outs. Customary $3 to $5 valet tip. Just figure it in. This is no Motel 6. This is a classy place. Spend a few bucks more and go for larger room. You'll be happy. :-).
