Very clean and quiet, smiling staff.

I do not recommend others to stay in this hotel. One customer service was unprofessional. If you park valet during Mardi Gras you most likely will walk back to get your car back. The building is historical and needs to be renovated. The heater didn't work. The biggest advantage is the location is great. Xccccc was a great receptionist.

Older building, no bar or restaurant, but great ambience as it’s a historic building. As an old banker it’s fun to stay in and the staff have been great.

Brilliant hotel. Staff were always helpful. Excellent location. Fantastic music and food festival in the square next to the hotel the weekend we where there.

HANDS DOWN the worst customer service EVER… front desk manager was VERY RUDE and unprofessional… THEY cancelled our reservation and charged us for a room even thou we didn't stay there. Went around the corner (same block) and rented another hotel with no issues. If you plan on staying here I would make other arrangements.

The Whitney Hotel was recommended to us by friends that had stayed there and we were NOT disappointed. Our awesome experience started at check in with Li-Chinna, Front Desk Agent. She was an absolute delight and was very friendly and helpful. Our room was great, spacious, beautiful, and clean. We were in walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. The hotel is beautiful and its history fascinating. We will definately recommend to others and plan a visit back soon.

I’ve stayed here twice. It is in the heart of the French Quarter and has nice, comfortable rooms, often at a lower price than other quarter hotels.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Whitney! Wasn’t expecting the rooms to be so large and spacious. Could have shared.

Tremendously friendly and responsive staff, whom effectively took care of a small problem with our door lock. I loved the hotel's character — crown moldings, high ceilings, elegantly draped windows and decor. It was like stepping into the richly furnished past of the hotel's history. The hotel is also very conveniently located downtown near the French Quarter — so much to do in easy walking distance! I would definitely stay again. The only downside? No microwave or fridge, which seem like staple ammenities of a comfortable hotel.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Mattress was firm and in good condition, rooms are spacious. Staff are very helpful and accommodating… we had a very late checkin and the hotel still was able to valet park the car. No kitchen on site but with so many restaurants within walking distance I do not consider this a negative. This hotel was a true gem for an old New Orleans building. FYI the bank vault is still open…

This was a great Hotel. Tim and the Other Valet that helped us get our thing out of the cars were excellent. They made our long trip there worth it by delivering all of our things to our rooms. The front desk staff the first night was helpful. We ask for a refrigerator and didn't get one. Mr. John W. The nice man who served us breakfast every morning. He went above and beyond. The fresh fruit was a hit plus the fresh pastries with blueberry muffins. We enjoyed ourselves.

My first time to New Orleans and I love this Whitney hotel. Very nice hotel with a extra friendly staff, so amazing. We went for a Mathis Family Reunion for the weekend and we walked everywhere. Friendly and helpful front desk help, bellhop and valet. Tim was friendly and Ashley was helpful to me.

Front desk, bell hops, and maintenance workers were excellent. Check-in was super easy. Valet parking was worth not having to find a park. They were very attentive to our needs. Housekeeping was not. They never cleaned the room the whole time we were there. Only emptied the trash and changed the towels.

We picked this place looking for an affordable place to stay for one night. We were there for business and just needed a place to sleep. I was on crutches and couldn't get around well at all. We had to stay in. We had pizza delivered thanks to the front desk staff for the recommendation. I was hoping for a great continental breakfast that we thought we would have in the morning. But they only had bagels and sweets. I really needed something nutritious because I couldn't get out to a restaurant while my husband had his business to attend to. I guess they are working on getting that running in the future? They have a beautiful historical building inside and out. I couldn't walk around and enjoy the dining area and sitting room or the city because I was on crutches. I do wish I could have been closer to the elevator because of my injury. If you love old history you will really like this hotel.

What a great experience we just had staying at The Whitney! We were in town for a conference, and the location was perfect — walking distance to the Quarter and to the convention center and close to a trolley stop. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the room was clean and fresh. But the best part was the staff. They were so friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay a pleasant one. Special shout-out to Timothy for his extra help on our last morning there.

The location and interesting architecture were the main positives. However the room was very hot all the time. When I asked for someone to look at it they didn't improve anything and only turned the thermostat up to 77 to make it even hotter when we returned to our room. I finally asked for a box fan which helped by moving the hot air at night. Sleeping was not too comfortable due to heat in room. This was in May, not the Summer. Hotel staff were friendly and did their best to be helpful. The breakfast was limited but tasty and supported by a kind, attentive man. If location is important to you this place is great, however if you are after comfort then this may not be a good choice.

Has a lot of character but is a bit run down. Great location. The continental breakfast is only pastries and coffee.

This charming little hotel is vibrant with a classic style. In the heart of downtown, you don’t miss a single beat of the New Orleans experience. We stayed here during Mardi Gras and it was perfect. Everything was in walking distance and we were always in the middle of the parade. The hotel itself has an incredible and accommodating staff. It doesn’t have a ton of amenities but there is a continental breakfast and perfect if you’re looking for an affordable stay. It’s a great spot.

If you face the road you have a great view, but it is incredibly noisy especially on Fri and Sat nights. The walls aren't insulated well and if you are a light sleeper you will not enjoy your stay at this hotel. They offer complementary breakfast, but it is limited. You need your passes to get your fruit, muffin and Danish. It is not an open breakfast. There are no amenities on site.

It’s not every day that you get to stay in a building that was built in 1909 and listed on the national registry of historic places. The Whitney Hotel’s dining room is a divided lobby with the bank. It is beautiful and extravagant with towering Roman columns, high vaulted ceiling and abundant marble features and tile work. Is definitely worth seeing. We stayed in both a deluxe king and king suite. A quirky feature of both was that the power outlets are extremely “loose” that plugs tend to fall out. Your luggage will definitely be safe considering it is stored in the vault.

A little over a year ago my brother called us from the Whitney and said his goodbyes he was planning to drink himself to death. Not only did the staff tolerate him in his uncontrolled drunken state they brought him back to his room and continued to check on him to make sure he was still in there while me and my family traveled from Minnesota in hopes to intervene before it was too late. I can not say enough about the wonderful staff and their leadership. You all helped save my brothers life! A little over a year later he is clean and sober and really doing well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Great hotel. Spent 3 nights there and had an amazing time. Came really early in the morning and they changed our room to let us in early to sleep. In a great area and the staff are beyond nice and accommodating. Cannot recommend more.

Well, American hotel just. Service is good to changeable. Rooms are chic but not in the best condition. Breakfast should not be eaten at the hotel — that does not deserve the name of breakfast.

Absolutely fantastic staff! We were already impressed with the hotel and maid service (we did a tough mudder) … but then our flight got cancelled and they gave us a great deal on an extra night and even upgraded us to a suite. Highly recommend.

This place was nice, but honestly you are paying just for location and convenience. It was clean, service was great, very pretty, but I didn't have a microwave oor refrigerator in the room (basic), and parking was $32/day! The breakfast was alright but no meat or egg, that's just my preference though. One of the elevators were not working, and the door on the other one was a little wobbly when moving. But you are within waffling distance of the casino, maybe you can bike or uber just a couple of blocks to canal street, everything is close there. And can't forget you were downtown, once morning hits expect to hear traffic and car horns of drivers below!

My husband, a travel agent, and I, brought a group of 19 to stay at The Whitney two days prior to a cruise from Nola. From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be our "go to" hotel for clients when cruising from this port!
The front of house staff, Brian, Ashley and Brittany were fantastic, accommodating, friendly, efficient and all around super nice people!
The group coordinator, Patrice was excited and appreciative to have us there staying. She is genuinely a very nice gracious lady that went above and beyond and is "doing it right"!
Our group had a very lovely time staying there and we hope to return soon!

This place is amazing! The architecture is lovely, the front desk staff are super cool and friendly and the rooms are cute. The only thing we didn't like was that the black out curtains don't close all the way.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Room was nice and roomy. Beds were a bit firm for my taste. Continental breakfast was nice but not carb friendly. No restaurant or bar was a bit of an inconvenience though. I'd come again.

Very good location, near the French quarter. The room on the 2nd floor (street side) was a little bit noisy. Rooms are quite old but perfectly clean. For $170 we would expect something better though. Breakfast is not worth it. You'll have a better one at Starbucks across the street.

Never stay here! Price is average for a moderate hotel in this district of NOLA. The first mishap was we arrived at 4pm, one hour after check in, and the room was not ready. Came back at 5pm, still not ready. When it was finally ready, we got to the "suite" and it was disgusting! The staff is not customer friendly either! I have never had to move hotels on a trip but we did real quick, they did give our money back for all but the first night but there was no way I was staying in that filthy room with worn out pitiful mattresses! Please do not waste your money! The Hotel Blake next door was a much better improvement!

Rooms are small but nice. No smell. Liked the shampoos and supplies like that. Breakfast is very very simple so you probably want to plan somewhere else even it's complimentary.

This hotel was very well run with pleasant, polite and helpful staff. They open every door for you as you are coming in and out. We had the 7th floor corner suite which was roomy and had an excellent view out of a curved corner window! It has a great central location for everything we wanted to do and even caught a parade that was passing by the opposite corner from the hotel. We are recommending this hotel to family that is going in a couple of months and we will be back ourselves!

The hotel is nice with clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff was typical large city personality. The breakfast was simple and free. Can't complain.

The room were fabulous and spacious. The hotel is located in downtown New Orleans so I rarely had to catch a cab. I just walked and enjoyed the sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. I give The Whitney hotel 5 stars for being a classy hotel.

The room feel was a little dated. Be prepared to pay for parking. We were not made aware of this ahead of time.

Quite an old hotel no restaurant or bar an executive suite was only a two room two bed no real seating facility.

Received my bill and when I arrived home found that they charged my card more then what I signed for on checkout. We stayed a extra night there and they said that they will give me a better deal on second night. $53.00 more then previous night is a good deal for them not me. I'm disputing charge now. Will update if they correct this issue.

My wife & I made our first visit ever to New Orleans over Father's Day weekend 2017 & were overjoyed with our stay at The Whitney Hotel. From the moment we pulled into the drive way for check in, my man Justin was most helpful & friendly in getting our luggage to our room & valet parking our truck. He told me to take my time & not be in a rush. What a truly fine southern gentleman! At the check in desk, we met Teqiwa. She made us feel most welcome with her sincere grace & heart warming smile. Thank you both for making our first visit to The Big Easy a trip to remember. We will be back! Tony & Linda Gaines.

Centrally located between Garden District and French quarter. Friendly staff. Our room was a dark as the window didn't open and was frosted over. I believe it faced a brick wall. If you stay ask for a decent window. Beds could use some improvement as they were a bit springy, but not terrible, clean room.

This was my second trip here and I loved it both times. It's convenient to Bourbon, the Quarter and the museums. The staff is helpful and very friendly. I've never eaten at the restaurant because there are way too many other options within walking distance. This will be the only place we stay when coming to New Orleans.

The Whitney located in the CBD is centered in the middle of most major attractions leaving it in walking distance to Harrah's Casino, the French Quarter, the Riverwalk, the Convention Center, Superdome, the World War II Museum, Restaurants and galleries. It appeared to be well kept and maintained with everything in working order. The staff was diligent and friendly and the atmosphere was professional and corporate yet elegant enough for a family of sightseers. I'm sure about all of the amenities as it was a brief Visit. I would definitely recommend and stay at the Whitney Hotel on Poydras.

Looks great, and I enjoy the history. Only visiting guests so not much to say, but my limited interaction with the staff showed their high level of courtesy.

Beautiful building, but because of the way it's situated, our side of the floor at least, doesn't get any light. The staff is friendly and accommodating and it's in a very good location.

Best hotel we have stayed at in a while. The manager was incredible… Jason I believe his name was. Best awesome man, made sure our stay was to its best. Great location… away from traffic, has a awesome restaraunt. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at! Thank you!

Stayed for the NCSS Conference. Loved the walkable location. BED BUGS! BED BUGS! BED BUGS! Hot water in bath/shower… no cold water option, except the sink and coffee cups. Was nearly scalded.

I loved the location of this bank-turned-hotel. It's a few blocks away from the French Quarters, and the Riverwalk Marketplace. The rooms are not too big but very clean and cozy. Concierge service was very helpful throughout our 3-night stay. Bistro downstairs could be better though. So-so food and service.

We were so grateful for the accommodating staff at the Whitney. They made wonderful recommendations and gave the best directions on everything. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was quiet and in a terrific location for access to all areas in the city. We are not the Royal Family and don't expect to be treated as such… the place was clean, reasonably priced, and in a great place. Talk to Earl or Patrick!

I like Mr Earl. He is vey nice and help us for the information very much. If we go to New Orleans, We will stay at the Whitney again.

Superb service, very well appointed and spacious room (we upgraded to the King room with a separate sitting room, well worth the small up charge. Valet and front desk staff were wonderful.

Peeling wallpaper, threadbare couch, mediocre dining room. Comfy bed, nice AC, iron in room, lots of natural light in the suite. Very noisy, Constant sirens and car horns. Internet speeds never peak over 2mbps (extremely slow).

The room was small. The TV was small. The bed was great. The price was great. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. Hotel is in a great location. The staff was very polite. I was there for one night. The hotel / bar area needs ALOT of improvement! I would stay again. Just needs the minor improvements.

They sold our reservation to someone else after we called and confirmed the reservation. They had us go to another hotel and we made them pay for it. We didn't pay for anything.

Rooms are a closet. High speed Wi-Fi non-existent. No complimentary breakfast as advertised. No iron in the room. Looks like there are holes in the floor covered up by the carpet. Some rooms have a view of a brick wall. Not close to french quarters. Hotel Staff not friendly at all. Carry your own luggage in, no one there to help, had to wait almost an hour. They only have 1 luggage cart for the whole hotel. The best photos are on the ground floor. Stay at the motel 6 you will have a better experience. Give it a negative rating if I could. Still stuck here. 8-1-2014.
