We stayed 3 nights at The Drake, for business in the area. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding! The Drake has very comfortable beds and the temperature in the room can be adjusted to your liking! The only minus I can think of is they have no pool. When we return to the area for business and need to stay, we will definitely make a reservation at The Drake!

We were a group on 18 there for the high tea as a baby shower. Service was great. We were accommodated in terms of seating easily and the food and tea was beyond my expectations. We had several allergies in the group and were given substitutes for everything. Overall great experience!

Good experience! The beds are comfy and the carpet in the rooms is plush and totally not like the other hotels that use commercial grade carpet… it's the details that make the difference. Love that they stock shower gel! Staff was very friendly, and the food at the bar was delicious. I recommend it over other hotels in the area!

Our room was covered in some type of white dust, like cleaning or construction dust. My black socks were covered in the dust. The furniture and decorations were outdated in a grandpa-way, not in a vintage-beautiful-way. We went for the New Years party. Unlimited drinks at the open bar included… except there weren’t bartenders, just hotel employees pouring orange juice mixed with vodka or a glass of a very small selection of wine. I will not visit again.

Got a night reservation. The front desk ladies were extremely polite. They tried their best to give me a room for me and my wife. The place is amazing it's a little retro and makes me feel like I'm stepping into the past, but still its amazing.

Very affordable room rates. Awesome fountain, lobby, bar and dining room. We had breakfast there and the food was good but it was very expensive. To be honest I was still hungry when I was done eating. Maybe that explains why there were only 5 other people eating there. I will never understand why hotels feel the need to charge so much for food. Lower prices, better portions will fill the dining rooms. Rocket science it isn't. Just common sense. Not to hard to figure that out. Rooms are nothing fancy. Could use some updating.

The Champagne Brunch was very good, although this weekend was sparsely attended and a few items (the French toast and scrambled eggs in particular) had sat too long. But the rest of the food was excellent, and the staff well-trained and attentive. An off-hand comment by my wife to one of the carving station attendants resulted in her birthday being recognized with a song and a complimentary slice of birthday cake!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel about two weeks ago and then booked again two weeks later. We love the old fashioned decor. Very charming and cozy. I will admit we do not like the modern hotels at all. The rooms were fully equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. My only complaint would be that the first time we stayed the water in the bathroom sink only came out cold. We did tell the front desk upon our check-out about the water problem. We had appetizers in the bar and live entertainment. Very good and the bartenders are very friendly. We ate in the dining room and again the service and food was excellent. We will continue to come back to The Drake.

I very muched enjoyed my stay at the Drake. The room was fancy and very clean. I enjoyed the food and treatment in the restaurant. Over all I felt very welcomed.

It's fairly nice. If you attend an event that is more than about 100 people, they'll have to split you into rooms that aren't next to each other. It was nice. Just crammed.

Went there for an event, thru a radio station. (97.1) Called bacon bash! 20 restaurants through out the ballrooms and bar area. The Drake is beautiful and very accommodating. Enjoyed the event very much. Will go again next year. People we ran into said the rooms were very nice. They wanted to have fun and not have to worry about driving. Very smart!

From the very start my experience at the Drake surpassed all my expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful on the phone (I had early questions about parking for an oversized vehicle) and in person. I stopped at the bar for a drink and some food and everything was very reasonably priced, and the food was real — was better than the usual hotel quality food. The room was clean and neat — the only thing I noted was that I could only find one power outlet (but I'm guessing that's because of the age of the building. ) The property itself was close enough to Oak Brook mall that I could walk there but also far enough out that it was still quiet. Finally, the complimentary shuttle service was very much appreciated. Being on the road so much, it helps to be allowed a few enjoyable things to feel human again. Being able to make it to a favorite coffee shop without driving the large truck I had through the backstreets to get there. I would without a doubt stay here again — and in comparison to the other large chain hotels in the area, you can't go wrong with the price.

The hotel in old-fashioned style is cozy and warm with all the amenities you need. An excellent business solution for short stays. Bar, restaurant, conference rooms, ample parking, ATM, PC with printer available and reception H24.

Went to breakfast with Santa in a Friday with my two young girls (2.5 and 1.5 years old) and other family. It was awesome! Easy to get a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Very beautiful. Did was delicious. Staff was exceptional. Will definitely go again. Heard Saturday was going to be packed. Friday was not crowded, easy to get to things. Oh, the kids' crafts were fun too. An all around good experience.

Breakfast with Santa exceeded expectations. The crafts and cookie decorating were a bonus that really made this event stand out. We had so much fun. Cash only for photo prints with Santa. Food was delicious.

I moved back to Chicago and has heard the Drake had closed but had reopened. Decided to take the family for a pre-holiday brunch and crossed my fingers that it would be as good as I remembered. I don't think the food choices were as vast as I remembered but they were still good. The service was attentive and friendly. The staff made it an enjoyable experience.

My wife and I attended for her company's annual Christmas party. The Drake staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great time! Seemed like a great place for social events, and we're both interested in going back for other events and as guests.

I attended a friend’s wedding reception here and it was lovely. The banquet room was cozy but not crowded and had an additional area behind the head table for people to talk and hang out or grab a drink from the bar. Several sets of double doors look out into a courtyard with an enormous stone fountain. Unfortunately, I was here at the end of March, but I imagine in the warmer months when everything is running it would be beautiful.

The wait staff were excellent, very personable and they all seemed as if they enjoyed their duties. The food was excellent and the drink service good as well. I can't speak of the rooms for I didn't stay the night but the rest of the building/grounds were well maintained.

Diplomatic attitude… Everything was wonderful, detailed, Fresh & so delicious, I don't know who is that cook but he makes miracles… HQ service, very educated & nice staff. Accessible prices! Our satisfaction & gratitude reach the highest level. Special thanks for Anna ❤️❤️❤️

This hotel is all about details. At the beginning I was scared for the red carpet with the shining vibe. Then the room was really nice. I loved the details, meaning a keurig with coffee and green tea pods. Four towels that really dried (you know what I mean). Decoration was great. Finally, we had dinner and a beautiful restaurant, listening live music.

I LOVED the Drake Oakbrook. I stayed there for two days while visiting family and my experience couldn't have been better. The service and room were terrific; a perfect combination of vintage charm and modern amenities. I usually stay at one of the chain hotels when I visit, but the Drake has my business from now on. I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the Western Suburbs for work or leisure.

We recently hosted an interactive networking event for 50 or so people in the Three Oaks Room, and I wanted to thank you for the great experience everyone had. The continental breakfast was perfect. The room was beautiful, and set up just as we asked. The staff serving us could not have been nicer or more attentive to our needs throughout the morning. The process for arranging the room went smoothly, and our coordinator was very responsive and patient with us as our needs changed. We look forward to holding our next event at the Drake later this year!

Only used the meeting room. They were accommodating, helpful and knew what they were doing for sure. SInce I was there only once for 8 hours, I cannot comment on anything else.

We went to the night club to see a jazz duo. There was no jazz but there was what at first appeared to be a cheesy lounge singer. We almost left. Soooo glad we did not. The lounge singer was fantastic and uniquely talented. The other patrons were significantly older than us and they danced beautifully together. It was all beautiful magic and made for a great date. Cannot wait to return.

Space was great and the Valentine's day performers were outstanding. The meal was delicious — we tried the bisque and the onion soups, which were great. The steak and salmon we delicious, and the lobster tail was out good too, though slightly overdone. Biggest problem was wait staff; they were friendly but disorganized. Had the impression that many were on their first day. Rookie mistakes like empty water glasses, forgotten orders, and confusion about what items were for which tables. But, it was a special event so maybe the regular staff was augmented by newbies for just the one day. Shrug. Will be back. Again.

The brunch here is great. They have a large amount of choices that taste delicious and fresh. The service as well is really great. I would just say it's a bit pricey, but it is very worth it.

Great ambiance with character. Best Sunday brunch I've ever had. Live entertainment 3 nights a week. 2 Tennis courts up until November. Rooms had huge TVs, microwave, fridge and the best carpeting… made me feel at home. Free parking. This the best hotel I've stayed in Nationwide for the price! And I've been in them all.

This is an OLD hotel, not worthy of the 3.5 star rating. The customer service is subpar at best, and the guest rooms have excessive stains which cloud any updates and makes the room appear dingy and dirty. As a frequent traveler (4 hotel stays of 2-4 nights per month) this is among one of the worst I have stayed in (based on the condition and cleanliness of the hotel) in a long time. The fitness center is pretty limited if looking to do cardio. There is one bike, treadmill and one elliptical. There is also some weight equipment, complimentary water and towels (which is nice). The machines aforementioned are operational even though limited. The exterior lobby and dinning area is antique by design and actually somewhat nice compared to the rooms and outter premises of the hotel. (The tennis courts and deck area seen by the view on the 1st level is are nice as well. ) Overall, the hotel leaves me quite disappointed and unfortunately I would never stay here again by choice.

Let me preface this review with the fact that our recent dining experience at the Drake Oak Brook found two profound positives: Fabby the bartender and her attention to detail plus customer service as well as Randy the entertainment for the evening. I should note that this review comes from restaurant connoisseurs, who have been everywhere from The Everest Room to Gibsons to other top notch restaurants in the Chicagoland area. The food is NOT edible. The Oyster Rockefeller smelled fishy, and once it hit my tongue it had a foul taste that packed a punch of sour with metal taste. The metal taste was also raging in the pork shank that someone at my table ordered. When my salmon arrived it was fishy, overcooked, had an imitation appearance, and was not properly seasoned nor prepared. I immediately sent it back. The filet that was ordered in replace of the salmon wasn't any better. It looked like a beef stew that was sitting in a sauce that looked as though corn starch was added to thicken it — inedible. Then, a cheeseburger was ordered. The fries were typical hotel fries that were thick cut and filled with salt, however, when a burger from Culvers or Steak and Shake has a better flavor and beef patty than a hotel you know something is terribly wrong with the preparation of the menu at The Drake Oak Brook. I would not recommend this restaurant for dining. I would recommend the Polo Lounge for cocktails and entertainment. This restaurant needs a revamp starting with the chef.

Horrible horrible place to stay. Very old and dilapidated! Never ever again. This hotel is not kid friendly at all. The staff are the worst. They need better customer service skills. Horrible horrible experience.

The Easter brunch was nice, service was great. Buffet was kept full regularly, had a lot of variety, and tasted pretty good.

Very friendly service lead by owner's family. Walkable to the Lions Club International HQ. Delicious food, especially breakfast.

My wife and I came here for our 1 year anniversary. We had an outstanding experience, the staff was amazing and the hotel itself looked beautiful. We had a great experience at the restaurant the food was the best my wife and I have ever had. We still talk about how amazing the center cut steak was. We can not wait to come back!

Stayed in room 312 from Friday to Saturday night with my fiancé for our anniversary and it was to say the least a terrible experience. We checked and the keys to the room didn't work and had to come back to get them fixed then we were welcomed to no toilet paper in the room which I had never seen before. Also the amount of noise for a nice hotel was not acceptable. We experience numerous times doors being slammed and can hear the people next door to us from our room as if they were there with us. It was an awful experience and I only had 4 hours of sleep. We ordered dinner and my food was not good. $123 bill was a little high for what we got. The turkey burger was half done and had pink in the middle and I didn't even eat it all. The main complaint I must say was the noise noise noise all throughout the night. The doors seemed to be made of paper. This was not a good experience for us.

The Drake was really nice. It is newly renovated but it kept the 1930's feel. We were part of a large group and they were extremely accommodating. Justina was especially great she did so much to make sure we had all we needed.

The Drake Hotel is back in all it's glory! Beautifully and lovingly refurbished throughout the entire hotel. The guestrooms are plush and inviting; the banquet areas stunning; the bar area has added live entertainment and expanded. Last but not least, the Café has fabulous food. So happy to see it has reopened. A great destination for the weekday business traveler and weekend weddings and get-togethers!
