This has become our official home away from home at Gencon each year. Neat train-cars refitted as rooms, metal girders, and history throughout. The hotel has added neat white history "ghost" statues to show what the station might have been like in it's prime. If you are a light sleeper be aware trains pass through a couple of times per night.

Was there for DCI weekend event! The hotel was very nice, staff was very nice and helpful answering all questions. The room was very nice clean. My two major/minor complaints are. Major One the beds in both of the room where very squeaky every time you turned sides in the bed it squeaked. The minor wished the shower/bathroom was bigger felt very narrow. Heard the train rumble through a couple of times during the night not a big deal at all. Over all good stay and great walking around downtown Indy!

Great hotel. I wish we would have gotten the train rooms. We were next to the pool and you can hear the early bird kids making noise and the late night kids/adults with their noise. Veey close to restaurants and the mall. Overall the rooms were clean, the staff was amazing. I had an issue with a meal and they quickly took care of it. They also gave us a tour of the train rooms. I hope we go back soon. Kudos to the staff.

I've been here several times for conventions in the area and it's always seemed very nice. Staff takes good care of the premises and there is a lot of space for various simultaneous events. I do want to point out that I have not stayed here as an overnight guest so I cannot vouch for the rooms. I do know from previously looking to stay here that they do not include any breakfast with the room which is something I personally look for when staying somewhere. Overall, it seems like a nice place from when I've been there.

Service was amazing! Staff was very well-mannered and pleasant. Very fancy establishment love the decor! The transformation oh this establishment was amazing. Was that a conference with live music in the Acoustics are very well. Would recommend many more events to be hosted here. Just an all-around pleasure to be and such an old-time establishment.

Very polite staff. Always attentive to our needs. Food was great. Valet service was impeccable. Only downside is the size of the rooms, including the traincar suites. If space is a concern, make sure you explore the square footage within the room selections. It took us two room moves upon check in before we were satisfied with the Premier Double. Other than room size, this property would be a 5 star in my opinion.

Loved it. Clean Room. Room Service. Great Staff. Restaurants inside. Indoor pool. No free breakfast, but there were plenty of restaurants less than a five minute walk away. Starbucks right across the street. Parking is 28.00 for a full day unless you want valet which was 38.00. Really once you get there you don't have to take your car out for the day you could walk or use the shuttle or bus.

Was part of a friend's wedding at Union Station. I hadn't been there since I was a kid. The venue was gorgeous and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The manager was easy to work with and the servers went out of their way for us. The hotel is a beautiful usage of the old train station. The rooms are servicable but the real fun is staying in one of the old train cars, on the second floor. Wonderful weekend. Wonderful venue. Wonderful hotel.

The trains run at night, but the rattling and noise was minimal. The staff was responsive to my concerns about no cold water and the air conditioning not working and fixes were made quickly. I would stay again!

We stayed in a train car. What a unique experience! My advice if you choose to stay in the train cars — when they offer help with your bags — Take the help and tip them well! It is an actual train car, the entrance is up a narrow flight of metal stairs. I really struggled getting my luggage up those stairs! Absolutely loved the room and the room service dessert we ordered was delicious!

I absolutely loved the look of the hotel. Everything looked like an actual train station. It was beautiful. My only complaints were the lack of windows face outside and parking (there weren't any inexpensive options). That wasn't a big deal. We still had a wonderful time.

Very clean and spacious rooms. Bar in hotel is comfortable to kick back and relax. Staff is nice and courteous. Plenty of parking.

The train car rooms are a unique experience. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside for me was the building shakes when the trains go by. But overall an excellent hotel.

The hotel is general not bad but if you touch a room close to the train lines the noise is a hell, additional that moves everything when pada the train as if it were shaking. I think they should indicate it or have a differentiated price. They put earplugs in your watch. Unfortunately the hotel was full so zero possibility of change. I'm not going back to this hotel.

Friendly staff, clean room. Quick delivery for room service, food was hot and very good. Great location by the Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. I like the train station motif, the "ghosts" of the past are all around.

Beautiful hotel. Heated walkway to the convention center. Extremely clean. Comfortable beds. They have old Pullman trains that have been converted into hotel rooms. I plan to stay in one on my next visit.

Very convenient location, and very nice-looking place. But… Sound insulation for the rooms particularly on the 1st floor is very poor. This allows any sound made in the lobby areas to float right into the rooms there. It also renders the nice common areas in the train station area not practical, due to the disruption it would cause. Valet parking was convenient though a little pricey. Food was good and reasonably priced. Good place, but could be better.

Super cool building. The interior structure built within and around the train station is intriguing. But the rooms are so basic. However, there are actual train cars converted to rooms I have not seen the inside of those. If I stay again I will stay in one of those.

Great venue and location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Live in Carmel but still wanted to stay the night for the wedding to be safe. It was clean and absolutely beautiful! Great food and drinks. Live this place!

The room was very nice. The train car rooms were extremely interesting. The hotel was set up nicely and it felt like stepping back in time. They kept the whole train station vibe when turning it into a hotel. Now it is still an active train station, so don't be alarmed when the trains rumble through.

The organization I work for had their kickoff event held in the Grand Hall. The setting was beautiful and well appointed. We booked a room for the evening, and stayed in on of the beautiful train car rooms. This is an active train station, so be prepared to hear the trains passing through. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again!

We love this hotel! We stay every year for the last home game of the Colts. It is convenient for getting to the stadium without going outside, and close to walk to many restaurants, though the one in the hotel isn't too bad. That being said, this time there were a few issues. The lobby is terribly cold and the wait for valet bringing car was 50 minutes in this terribly cold lobby (granted, it was NEGATIVE 8 degrees outside! ) We had another issue, and the staff really bent over backwards to take care of the problem and make it right with us. The nice lady that checked us in was so sweet! We love her. I think her name is Liliana (her name tag said in training without a name. ). She was super sweet! Overall, a nice hotel with vintage train decor (! ) and we will stay again.

We booked a train car room for our son and he absolutely loved it. Ask for a room on the north side so you don't hear and feel the (functional) trains going by. These cars are on a real track using real trains from 1926 (? ). The rooms inside feel clean, quiet, modern, and roomy. A must-have experience for anyone who loves trains — including toddlers!

Pros: Great location downtown. Awesome decor in the old train station. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Cons: Room was not well insulated, and thus quite noisy from other patrons. A few hairs on the sheets pointed towards them not being changed before we arrived. Overall, we would very likely stay again.

Thanks staff is extremely nice here. Food is delicious at the hotel bar. Built from an old train station. They turned some of the old train cars into room you can stay in. I haven't had the privilege but it seems like a great experience to try!

I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are better options in the area. The hotel is definitely unique and historical. I loved the actual train cars in the hotel and decor. Housekeeping is extremely loud during the early morning. At 8:50 am we had someone open the door without knocking or announcing themselves as housekeeping. This was our last day and check-out isn't until noon. Guest services were unable to satisfy simple requests. We had to call multiple times to correct or remind them. Depending on your room location, your experience can be very noisy. The pool is located in the center of the hotel surrounded by guest rooms. This is not ideal. The train is loud but the front desk warns you about it upon check-in and it's mentioned on their website and in reviews. It would be nice if the hotel started offering complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby.

Our room was good. The best part was that we were on the second floor, where the real-life train coaches are located. The hotel is very unique, because it used to be a train station (and still has a train stop), and they maintained the structure, so it truly looks like a train station. There's a small indoor pool, clean. Service was good, although we didn't need anything outside checking in and out. Location was within walking distance of everything — restaurants (family and fancy), night clubs, bars, etc. Would definitely go back.

This very nice, the bar, the pool and the restaurant of the best… behind this stadium of the colts, and for 10 dlls, you can enter it and you will be taken to a tour inside, to the lockers, to the field of play and to all the places of the stadium, plus 2 blocks away is also the home of the pacers that are the high school basketball team.

I had a very good experience here, the room was clean and obviously very unique. That said, there are real trains that pass by at night which can be quite loud. Other than that, I enjoyed the room, a movie and room service!

This is a beautiful hotel. The architecture is amazing. Also, the staff is very friendly and the food is good too. I have never been to this city before, but if I ever come back I would love to stay here again (and stay in one of the trains). And yes, the have trains inside the building.

The hotel is beautiful and the Pullman cars are a fun experience. The front desk staff is friendly but not very knowledgeable. Note: if you forget certain toiletries, there is a small shop behind the check-in desk where you can get these items and pay for them at the front desk. However, if you ask the front desk the closest place to find said toiletries, they will go out of the way to draw you a map to a gas station approx a mile away. Room service was pretty incredible with nice portions and beds are very comfortable. The valets were super-friendly and even provided my husband and I am umbrella for a potentially taking walk. Overall, a very nice stay.

I'm on my second day here but so far it is outstanding. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, and excellent responsive staff. Beds are very comfortable. The rooms are very clean. Only complaint is the noise transfer from other rooms is high in the historic rail car section but that is a small price to pay for the ambiance. I highly recommend this place.

Great overall, but has some issues. Valet is $38, which is super high and $24 garage offers no in and out privileges. Pool is nice sizes and warm, but open to the concourse, so the air temp is like 72° and makes for some chilly swimming. No breakfast included either. I also heard other guests complaining about train noise and vibration, but did not experience it myself. Lots of homeless in the area too, but I never felt unsafe. Hotel is beautiful, but I can't recommend for overnight stays.

The rooms were clean and they had a train theme which was very cool. Statues everywhere made it easy very upscale as well. The only complaint was that the hall ways smelled like garbage. Not metaphorically, I mean actual trash, as if someone hadn't replaced the trash bin. You couldn't smell it at all in your rooms though.

This is a cool old building fashioned out of an old train station, and built around 2 old trains. The rooms are nice. Staff friendly and helpful. But trains on the tracks just outside the hotel literally shook my room. They actually make you sign something at the front desk acknowledging that this is going to happen. They do provide earplugs and a little sleep themed aromatherapy packet, which is a nice touch.

The housecleaning team leader hurried into the room before the cleaning-worker, and stole the tip left for the Spanish speaking cleaning lady before she could receive it. My girlfriend caught the manager-thief and made her give it to the worker 5/25/19 ~1pm room 245. The cleaning lady was so grateful and warm that my girlfriend helped her. I hope that management can fix this. At check-in, we were Saddened that the desk worker told us there were no king sized beds available, but the website showed there are several available immediately after we checked-in… Discrimination? The front desk worker seemed a bit tense and unhappy. All of the other staff was nice and professional as one would expect at nice place like Crowne-Plaza. This is a lovely building with a very interesting real-train house theme. I hope that management can step-up to make it the beautiful warm experience that it should be. Also, be warned that a real train does pass very close several times each night… Earplugs are provided on the nightstand.

My husband and I stayed there in December during the convention. We were attending our sons engine team competition. It was such a plus to be connected to the conference center! The atmosphere was great! The old train station! I loved that they have converted some of the old train cars into guest rooms. There are retail shops walking distance. The only complaint that we had was the bed! It was like sleeping on a bed of cinder blocks! The train still runs right next to the hotel. If you don't mind that, then overall it's a good stay.

My friend got here and it was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Great experience all around.

Used the hotel halway to do a quick photoshoot during a comic convention. Staff was very nice and allowed us to shoot there right next to the train car rooms. Will definitely book a railcar room next time I need a room!

We were told they would call us when our room was ready so we went downtown to the mall and waited until close to 4 when actual check in time was. No one ever called us so we just went back and I could tell they had done a shift change but we never received a call saying it was ready but I checked in no problem that time. Beds were smaller than we expected. Also it rained while we were there and there was a leak a couple rooms down from us and water was pouring down the wall right next to a light. Seemed like a fire hazard to us. Also another leak coming from the skylight Windows and was dripping down on a light that hung from the ceiling. When the place is busy good luck getting time in the pool and if you do be ready to be splashed like crazy and maybe even kicked. My wife was kicked in the face by a child that had been told three times by her parents that she had kicked others before her. If you have more than 4 in your group staying don't get the breakfast with your room because you won't be able to be seated in the restaurant. We had stayed here a couple times before throughout my life and that's why I decided to go, but I can tell you now we will never go back to that hotel after this past experience. Our ceiling in our restroom you could see that there had been water damage there and the popcorn ceiling was starting to come down in spots.

Pretty nice hotel. It's in an old train station and still keeps some of that feel. The outside is very unassuming but inside is very nice. We stayed it a room in one of the train cars which was neat. If you do so, when you go to the 2nd floor off of the elevator the train cars are on either side. Once you step through the smallish entryway it opens up down a long corridor which was the loading and unloading platform and provides a really cool experience. On a long side the rooms can be adjoining if you have a larger party. The rooms of course all have flat screen TVs and all of that modern stuff. The pool is maintained with salt instead of chlorine which is a nice change. The front desk staff were very nice. Don't let this deter you but my only complaint is the doors to the adjoining rooms aren't too thick so if someone is just on the other side you can hear them clearly from the same place in your room.

We were disappointed as we used our credit card to hold the room But paid with cash when we arrived. We didn't notice until a few hours later that they also charged out card. When we told them about it they refused to give us cash back and said they would have it back on our card within 7 to 10 business days. With that being said are room was nice and we really enjoyed the pool.

Front desk was very rude upon arrival as there was some confusion with payment. Pretty much told the whole lobby as a credit card got declined and said sorry your card is bad and declined. We had confirmation and room was already paid for in advance! Once that was finally figured out we went to our room, it was okay and clean but about 30 minutes into our stay a maintenance guy comes in and starts changing filters on the furnace. Took our kids to the pool and it was so cold the kids wouldn't even get in! Rooms are definitely not worth the $$!

The crowne Plaza is really awesome. They have super nice people working there and the building has a cool look of modern and history. Where the hotel is positioned is perfect. It's one block away from Georgia street where a lot of events and fun things take place. Head a few more blocks down and you are at the mall where there are many great restaurants. I highly advise staying here or planning an event here.

I have never complained about a hotel visit in all of my multi medallion years, but after my stay at the Crowne Plaza in Indianapolis, I have to make an exception. My wife and I showed up at noon on Friday the 13th (November), I was hopeful we could check in at that time but did not expect to as we were “early” and check in is guaranteed by 4:00 PM. We went to the Indiana Museum of Art for a couple of hours and came back at 2:00 PM and our room still was not ready! I get the 4:00 rule but when you have a guest show up early and paying for the best / most expensive room in the hotel I would think the management team would make an effort to accommodate the guest. Fat chance at the Crowne Plaza in Indianapolis. In fact the management team was not only unaccommodating they were apathetic, and hid behind the 4:00 PM check in time. “WOW”! Now it is 3:45 and instead of going to the front desk, I called to check on my room availability, and it was still not ready! The management team was still apathetic, or maybe I should say pathetic. I was beside myself and complained, then they switched my room to get us checked in. Never did they ever apologize, act understanding or CARE! Now here’s the topper! The room they put my wife and in was billed on Saturday the 14th based on the original reservation. That rate was $70.00 less than I was paying. In other words they gave me the bill for the individual who originally reserved the room. So now I realize that I’m overpaying.

Renovated rooms provide a mid-range experience at a historic hotel. Great location with indoor access to Lucas Oil as well as the mall and other connected hotels and restaraunts. The staff are extremely accommodating and freindly. Though this is neighboring an active train station, the noise is minimal and has never disturbed me. Staff have been accommodating should I ask to be placed in a room away from the tracks.
