4-star my a$$! I would not only not recommend this hotel to anyone, but also absolutely condemn its deceiving marketing and heavy price tag. The service offered was as if it’s a typical motel. I’d have been better off staying at one of those mid level hotels like Courtyard or Hampton. 1) No cart/dolly available to carry the luggage; we had to make multiple trips in heat to drag our essentials from vehicle to elevator and then to the room for our few-day stay 2) No bellman or porter to help on any of the weekdays we stayed 3) No valet service 4) No adjacent parking; had to park a block away for an additional payment to a 3rd party and then walk back with the remaining hand-carry items 5) The elevator stinks of mold 6) The carpeting smells like it hasn’t been shampooed in ages 7) The bedding felt dusty and had dust mites 8) The curtains smelled 9) The room was suffocating — maybe because of a combination of nauseating carpet, curtains, and bedding 10) (Upon opening the glass windows for ventilation) found that it probably wasn’t cleaned/washed in years — it had a thick layer of dust — the screen mesh was cracked and disgusting as well 11) There’s no refrigerator (hullo where do we keep our infant’s food or our leftovers?

I had an amazing experience great staff historical views.

My friend and I had a lovely time exploring Chicago this past weekend, and we could not be more thankful to the staff members of millennium knickerbocker Chicago hotel.
We were treated with so much kindness from the moment we walked in till the time we left.
Everyone was so helpful and friendly.
The hotel was clean and fresh and followed covid guidelines. It’s ideally located and is an absolutely beautiful hotel
We will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to all.

Amazing service and the staff very polite.

Literally the worse hotel I’ve ever been to. They charge you full price for amenities that aren’t even available due to COVID. Their computer “glitched” and charged me an additional $269 which no one could seem to figure out why. Front desk told us to call at 2 to speak with the manager, we went to wait and the manager showed up at 3:30. And he still couldn’t help us the rooms smelled like weed and all the carpet was stained. Seriously, spend your money somewhere else.

Very nice accommodations, extremely helpful staff and great locale.

1. The air conditioner does not work— and of course they knew this upon our arrival and didn’t bother to tell us until we complained about how hot it was in the room. 2. My friend took a shower, and just so happen when he looked down at the towel before using it noticed blood.

This hotel made our holiday! What a stunning hotel. Every member of staff in this hotel were an absolute delight. Me and my partner was very much looked after during our stay. I would also like to thank Craig who works at the front of house for making us laugh daily and ALWAYS taking the time to stop and talk to us and make sure everything was ok, dude you can talk haha. The location is perfect! Plenty of restaurants and bars around this hotel and not at all far away from attractions, such as, Chicago Riverwalk, Willis tower, Millenium Park and the Navy Pier. We used Uber ALOT whilst here as on our first day we was completely taken advantage of by a yellow cab driver. (Uber is a must! ). The cleaners in this hotel are spectacular, everyday without fail we had fresh bed sheets and fresh towels. Me and my partner were in an accessibility room, which in fact was huge! We have zero complains, we absolutely loved it here. Just one thing to point out to anyone else staying at the hotel. There is no room service. But a takeaway called Saprino’s delivers till late :) So thanks to each and every one of the staff here at Millennium Knickerbocker xxx.

My compliments to the entire staff, especially Craig who treated me so kindly and was pleasantly personable! The late night grilled cheese after a day of travel was incredibly comforting. I will surely be back!

Very very noisy, you can hardly sleep at night. Besides we had to wait for about an hour to check in. Very disappointed this time.

The Knickerbocker is a great hotel, the staff is friendly and very informative. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast in the restaurant is very delicious!

We love the Knickerbocker! The historic hotel (Al Capone anyone? ) has plenty of charm, great beds, quiet rooms and very friendly staff. We live in Chicago but have enjoyed several staycations at the Knickerbocker! We also loved our breakfast croissant sandwich!

Beautiful lobby. Nice room. Couple minor items in room needed attending to as appeared rooms not used often and restocking not done fully… staff very attentive. Perfect spot for our downtown activities and Cubs game.

Lovely historical hotel. Al Capone's favourite bar he loved his cocktails. Well worth a visit.

My Family and I booked (4) rooms and we enjoyed this Hotel, with only a few complaints. We would Recommend it for its friendly staff and it’s Location. Also, use of a microwave or Room Service would have been helpful. We had a Pleasant Stay!

Just finished a bridal shower tea party! Amazing and friendly staff from the doorman to the wait staff. Helped me host an amazing event. Food/ dessert also great… I will be back again for tea. And thinking about other events I can host. So happy I found this place.

Our stay at the hotel was only one night. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom had a large walk in shower. The lighting in the room was a little dark and our TV did not work at all. I contacted the front desk about the TV and was told they would send someone up, I'm not sure if someone was ever sent up since we were at a wedding all night. However the TV did not work once we got back to the room or the next day. I talked with some other people staying in the hotel and they said their TV as well was going in and out or just simply did not work. Over all our stay was nice and the TV issue was not that bad since we were hardly in our room.

Good hotel to stay at. Amazing location. The place is close to tallest building in Chicago, that's an amazing incentive. Slightly expensive for quality of the hotel, old contruction. Rooms could be better. Good for access to the city downtown.

Several decades ago this would have unquestionably have been a 5-star hotel, but while it is still quite nice, it is showing its age. Renovations may help aesthetically, but the rooms are still rather small. Good location if you're looking for easy access to the shopping mecca that is Michigan Avenue.

The bar food is great! I ordered calamari and expected the usual frozen, then deep fried rings (which I don't mind), but, as I said to the very friendly bar manager, I could've been in Greece for authenticity (legs, head n all! … Crispy outside but succulent inside ; Which I love). Very good value too. It went very nicely with my glass of rose wine. Complements to the chef!

I wish there were zero stars! Candice basically threw my daughter and her friend out on the streets. The room was completely paid for, but because they were not 21… which NOWHERE does is state that you have to be 21 to rent a room. The girls literally had nowhere to go, they traveled by train. Yes they refunded the money for the room but offered no help in finding other lodging. Candice was extremely rude and told us to contact a lawyer if we didn’t like it and hung up on us. Nice customer service!

It's a cozy little hotel that is kept very well. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Everything was clean and refreshed daily. The only issue I had was that the "included breakfast" actually wasn't included and had to be paid for on top of the visit. Otherwise, this hotel is located in a rather busy part of "downtown" Chicago — lots and lots of shopping to be found in the area, and both lake Michigan and Millennium Park are just a stone's throw from the hotel. All told, we'd happily visit again.

Eccentric hotel. Good location with walking distance to designer shops and Rush Street, where you can delight your palate on food and drink, not to mention the beach almost opposite. This hotel has smalls rooms. Some in need of updating, after all it has to keep up with the other luxurious hotels the Brand Millennium owns. Good value for Downtown Chicago. Arriving to a Live Jazz singer added a special charm to the place.

Beautiful and clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great Piano Bar and restaurant. Excellent location. Our room was on the 11th floor and we had a living room and separate bedroom. Elevators were fast and made going up/down quick and easy.

We really enjoyed the location vs the price… we felt it was a good price for the fantastic location. It is a classic art deco style hotel with updated rooms. The room wasn't huge but big enough for all we needed. There was an odd smell when we entered room but it was tolerable. It had a cushioned chair in the room that looked like it should have been thrown out to the curb — could be what smelled! Beds were comfortable. We were able to walk/rent bikes (when I say walk, we will walk miles so not just a block to all of these attractions but still very "doable" for anyone without any waking limitations) to easily get to the Navy Pier/waterfront, the Millennium Mile plus so much more Chicago has to offer.

Second time I've stayed here in a month for a training located on site, but I will make it a point to come back next time I'm in the Chicago for any reason. I absolutely LOVE this place! Comfortable, clean rooms, walking distance to everything there is on the MagMile, but the real clincher is the staff. Everyone here is friendly, helpful, and really on the ball. People always make the place for me, and the staff here make the Knickerbocker a 5 star in my book!

Beautiful hotel, dated in areas. We we’re allowed to check in early which we appreciated. We were in town for the Pink concert and didn’t want to keep our tickets on us while out shopping, so we locked them in the safe. Only to find that the cleaning staff wasn’t updated on our early check in. So while out shopping they came in and cleaned the safe out taking our tickets. The tickets were turned in, and we enjoyed the night. Just feel that a little communication with staff would of saved a lot of stress to us. We we’re panicking that we had been robbed. Then to be treated like we we’re over reacting to them taking items out of the safe. They didn’t even act like anything had been done wrong. Other than the one front desk worker the rest of the staff was very friendly. But probably won’t use them again.

Very comfortable Hotel with very friendly service and despite being at the end of the mile everything is walking.

I stayed here for 4 days in a standard room. I really enjoyed it. It has an interesting and well done 1930's motif. It is a historical hotel, so I'm glad they've been able to keep it while maintaining the overall quality. There is a bar in the lobby, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room itself was well kept, very clean, and had very cool decor. However, it was pretty small. You'd be hard pressed to share a single room, and if you did the bathroom has only a sliding smoked glass door for privacy. Overall, despite the small room size, I'd absolutely visit again and I'd recommend it if you're making a trip to Chicago.

Amazing hotel filled with just the most friendly people you can find in Chicago. The restaurant was just amazing. I ate breakfast every morning and the service and food was fantastic. At night Steve the bartender (sorry if I used the wrong spelling) was extremely attentive and helpful. He was one of my main points for information and suggestions of what to do and where to go. You won't be board as the area around the hotel has a vast array of shopping and entertainment. It is also located near several parks. The area was extremely safe and nonthreatening even when walking around aimlessly until 12am. Which I would highly suggest it's just an amazing walk.

Had a quick trip to Chicago and the service here was amazing. Highly recommend this place for a quick stay. It is central to a lot of things in North Michigan Avenue. Staff at this hotel are very kind and courteous. You can order Grub Hub or Uber right to your door at this hotel. Staff at this hotel also mentioned that you can ship Packages on Amazon prior to staying at this hotel and their are no extra per package charges. You just need to inform the hotel front desk in advance. Provided me a late check out time for 1pm and if they aren't busy will even allow you to do a slightly later check out time. I wanted to have lunch somewhere before flying out of Chicago and the front staff held my bag for around 3 hours free of charge. Overall amazing experience at this hotel and will surely be back in the future.

Recently stayed several nights for business & very much enjoyed my stay. The staff was very polite, welcoming and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Good wireless internet speed. The room was fully stocked with a large selection of food and drink for purchase. Soda, wine, wine opener, liquor, beer, chips, chocolate, mints etc… I do agree with others that the thermostats are dummy stats. It’s understandable due to its age, but otherwise the age doesn’t show. I slept with the window open one night b/c it was a little stuffy in the room. (I prefer a cool room at night. ) The best nights sleep I’ve had in quite some time. Nice bar/lounge & bartenders. Only had breakfast one day & it was perfect. Great location to Michigan Ave. I would definitely recommend & return.

Cam for my anniversary, and was not a all disappointed. My mother called ahead of time to tell them about our anniversary, so they not only bumped us up to a nicer, larger room, but gave us two free drinks at the bar. We got two fruity martinis and they were great, though probably too sweet for those with a more refined taste. There is also live piano at the bar, a nice touch. The room itself had a lovely, well-kept king-sized bed, a stylish, clean bathroom, and a cozy living area. We only stayed for one night, but were very pleased. Nothing about the room stood out as a negative. Would definitely stay again. $100 for one night in a great room on our anniversary, not bad at all.

This hotel had a classic style to it and it's conveniently located. The staff in the lobby do well to make you feel welcome. There are mini bars in the room and a full one downstairs.

My hubby and I stayed here for our vacation. We absolutely love this place. I know this is funny but I love the bathrooms — the glass doors and the shower heads are very different and sliding door to the bathroom is very cute. Great location. Rooms are very comfortable and the staff was very nice and helpful too. We will be definitely coming back to stay when we visit Chicago again.

Our room was beautiful and we were able to check in early however our fridge was unplugged and everything in it was warm. I called and told them the we probably wouldn't use it anyway and they could fix it after we check out. But then we noticed a problem with the coffee maker and I called for both to be fixed. Especially since we were going to dinner and would be out of the room. Front desk said they would have someone come up but they never did. So we came home to a warm fridge with leftovers that were just wasted. And there were bobby pins all over our floor. But our room was very pretty and the concierge was fantastic helping us with dinner plans. Coming back before Christmas And might have to think about the Drake.

My friend and I stayed at the Millennium Knickerbocker in Chicago in August. The hotel was nice, staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The room was small but it was perfect for 2 people to stay. The shower was really nice. The beds were comfy. I liked the location and being close to downtown Chicago. It was a quick Lyft or walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The only negative was the smell of paint as they were doing some remodeling during our stay but other than that I enjoyed the hotel stay. Definitely a place I would stay again.

This place is historic and is conveniently located near Navy Pier and Millennial Mile shopping. We used the bus transportation and had no issues getting to and from since it's right near Michigan Ave. We had a blast both nights at the lounge that's to STEVE. He was an excellent bartender and went out of the way to keep us happy. Good times by all.

Great place for a sumptuous wedding feast & dance party! Nice bar on first floor! Love the retro feel to this place. Reminiscent of turn-of-the-century elegance. Indulge! If you arrive early, have the concierge check your bags & saddle up to the bar for your mid-day Chardonnay! I love Chicago!

Great stay, comfortable beds, intimate and cozy rooms that are nicely updated. Located by the Gold Coast so there's lots to see and do as a native Chicagoan or out of town visitor. I only gave them a 4 because during our stay there was no water in the water dispensers so that forced us to have to buy their expensive bottled water. Also, we had to travel off of our floor to get ice since no ice machine was availabe on our floor. Both of these things are very inconvenient. You'd expect them to at least have filled the water dispensers seeing as though it's a pretty nice hotel.

God awful! If I could give a zero I would. My husband called and got a rate for three nights at $79 a night for a standard king bed room that's non refundable. We booked and were told that our total will be $283 and received a confirmation email that the price was actually $405. When calling to question they said the price for Saturday was $189 not $79 and we were locked in and there's nothing we can do but pay the full amount. And at 4:00 on a weekday a reservation manager wasn't on site to resolve the issue. A completely despicable way to treat paying customers. We will be doing everything we can to get our money back and run. Never would I recommend a company who is ok with cheating their customers. Absolutely disgraceful, worse customer service than a Motel 6.

The restaurant should have a Michelin star. The food was excellent. And the staff and atmosphere of the place was all around great. The rooms were spectacular. And that shower was just a cherry on top. Love it! Thank you for a wonderful stay Millenium Knickerbocker you guys rock! I'll tell my friends.

No free Wi-Fi, no vent in the bathroom, 16:9 TV sets with 480i 4:3 stretched resolution. $10 a day Wi-Fi, seriously?

Great location right off magnificent mile! Friendly staff, clean rooms, great newly renovated bathrooms (with waterfall showers)! 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Great stay. Super comfortable bed and great cozy room. Very convenient location. Beautiful old hotel. All staff that I interacted with were very helpful and friendly. Only downside was that we had driven all the way from Ontario and had to park somewhere else nearby for the weekend because the hotel only offered what I would consider very expensive valet service.

Location is awesome if your looking to walk to restaurant and the Magnificent mile. Staff was really friendly and the breakfast service was quick and delicious. The room was smaller than I'm used to, but we didn't need the space. Bathrooms looked very elegant but the sliding door was bowed so there was no privacy. Overall, very beautiful and I would visit again.

The issues I had with the hotel was the remote didn't work properly and there was a constant howling sound during the day (vacuum, plumming, air condition). I didn't figure out what it was. My wife's iPhone couldn't even pick up the Wi-Fi. Overall good stay just small issues.

Receptionist among check in was okay, not the nicest. Room was small but comfy king sized bed. Showers had a nice waterfall shower head but a little confusing to work. Only one elevator was working at the time. Easy enough to get to from bus. Location was nice, near a lot of shopping areas but our particular view wasn't the greatest.

Great Hotel, especially for the price. Beats any of the other lower cost 4 star hotels in the area, and it's in a great area! Beds are comfy, rooms are clean. Rooms maybe a tad small, but European style is usually this way. For the price you can't beat it.

The hotel has a lot of history and it's pretty comfortable. They charge for almost every amenity (Wi-Fi, parking, extra cot) the staff very knowledgeable about the area and they're always willing to give advice.

There are so many issues wrong with this hotel. Let's start off by these. They allow people to smoke majiuauna in the hotel rooms and don't do a thing about it. Their customer service is down right horrible. The bar tenders at their bar swipe you credit card multiple times even when its being denied until it finally gets approved. They put a 40% gratuity hold on ur credit cards and won't do anything about it. It took me almost 4 hours of complaining on the phone to several managers and a general manager before I saw any somewhat of a resolution. In my eyes never stay there unless u want ur entire vacation ruined.

The hotel just wants to get all of guests money. Many things are not free. However, good location and service.

The service is wonderful and the rooms high quality. Perfectly settled in downtown area by the magnificent mile.

Nice location, nicely updated room and bathroom. Price was good for the area, the elevators are outdated and slow… kind of typical for a boutique though. No shampoo in the room, which was strange, but what was troubling was when I called down to remedy this the desk put me on hold for 10 minutes. So I gave up. Lots of hotels that don't have this kind of issue, so we'll try some other place next time.

Stayed at the Knickerbocker last Jan 11th. It was an amazing stay… Great food, courteous service, professional staff, relaxing environment. Planning another visit to Chicago in Feb. And I plan to re-book with the Knickerbocker.

We stayed here for four days. First night our room faced another building with a terrible view. We ended up having to switch the next morning because the pipes were making loud noises — room switch was no problem. Internet costs extra (I believe $10 a night), which to me is ridiculous. The TV has inputs for HDMI but cannot be switched to accept HDMI input because of hotel TV firmware. These two features are the most important to me because I always watch movies at night from my computer. TV service is not even close to HD, although they appear to be HD TVs. Breakfast is way overpriced. Lastly they charger our debit card a $75 deposit without notifying the card holder. Rooms are nice overall, but I've never stayed in a hotel that didn't have a nice room… Staying here was uncomfortable for me because it just seemed like they were trying to make money every chance they could with additional upcharges — like the $85 robes. I would much rather stay at a chain than this place. If you do stay here though, make sure you use the stairs at least once, hahaha.

Stayed for 2 nights and purchased it as a 4 star from Hotwire Hot Deals. I'd agree with the 4 star rating although it does have a lot of "historic charm" that some people might not like or think is "old" the hotel is in a great location and is clean. Couldn't ask for more for the price I paid.

We picked up a one-night stay here at a discount on a travel web site. The decor here is very nice — — historical and well-preserved. Modern updates and amenities are added, so the room is comfortable and the stay is pleasant. A classy place to stay when visiting Chicago.

We spent two nights in a Jr. Suite, the room was spacious and clean. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. PERFECT location downtown, right off Michigan and a block from the lake. I will absolutely stay there again next time I visit Chicago.

Very nice but small rooms. $10 Wi-Fi a day. Come on. Greeters were too pushy with helping as far as taking bags from my hands when I already said no. Then when I didn't tip you could tell they were upset. Half the of food and drinks in the fridge were expired.

The room while not spacious is cozy. The interior is a combination of historic architecture and modern convenience. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The Wi-Fi was strong and the showers came in rainfall and wand. The wand on a scale from trickle to could strip paint was comfortable while the rainfall nozzle is like standing under a sun lamp.

I stayed here with my adult daughter and it was a perfect location at a decent price. The hotel is right next to the Magnificent Mile, Water place, John Hancock building, the beach as well as tons of fantastic restaurants. The bed was comfortable. The king rooms were spacious and clean. The concierge were all very friendly and helpful. I do wish the rain shower head put out more pressure and in our room we couldn't lower the temp to less than 65 degrees which may sound really cold but honestly it wasn't. I think something was wrong with our air unit as we would both wake up sweating at night (we like it cool to sleep) and there was always a slight feel of humidity in the air. Oh and I paid for the 24 hour Wi-Fi in my room and it didn't work for the majority of the time (I. T. Was troubleshooting it). I was frustrated since I couldn't get work done and they assured me they would not charge me for it. Overall I'm very happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

I had my high school prom there 5 years ago today. It's a really beautiful place. Made me feel like I was a movie star in nice classy hotel lol.

Three couples booked rooms here. My wife went into the hospital emergency room the day before our three night stay and was admitted to the hospital. I called to cancel the room and they told me since I booked it through Expedia, I could not get any refund nor could I put my 27 year old Son in the room. I was the only one who could stay there. So I lost three days of charges. I will spend many hours making sure every site knows how ridiculous this hotel was to me. The other couples said the rooms were tiny and we were lucky we did not stay here.

Nice Hotel friendly staff. Beds are super comfortable. Cocktail lounge is nice. Rooms are nice but small and our view of the "Magnificent Mile" was just the side of another hotel. $10 a day for "high speed" internet. Really even McDonalds has free Wi-fi. Couldn't even watch a youtube video or skype the kids which was why we broke down and paid in the first place. No amenities, included no cocktails, even $5 to use the business center to print 1 page. Also put a additional $75 hold a day on your card for your room which after 2 days I am still waiting for. Hotel is nice. Services not so much.

4 Irish Ladies just back from our 1st visit to Chicago Nov 19-23. Selected the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel from the web and was the best decision we made. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered in either America or Europe. The hotel is of excellent quality and is in the perfect location, rooms and beds fantastic. Chicago and the Knickerbocker Hotel, WE WILL BE BACK. Thank you.
